Making it out of the cafeteria in one piece had been a challenge, but he had managed it. The mantodae found himself outside, and despite the cold he slumped against the wall, brows knitted together as he tried desperately to keep his body under control. I just have to make it back to the dorm, he reminded himself as he shivered as the wind howled past him.

This simply did not make sense. he had never had his flesh flake off like it just had in the cafeteria. Surely it was just a bad reaction to the rat. But the cramping? The itchiness? It somewhat fit, though even his first time had not been like this.

He longed to revert back to his natural form, his body was trying to force itself into it, and it likely was the best thing for him to do. At least he would no longer need to worry about his skin. But in the snow and cold his mantis form would been the worse thing he could do. He closed his eyes, he would just rest here for a minute and then he would continue on his way to the dorms. Just for a minute...

Alex had followed Yin out of the cafeteria and into the hall, but he had to look around a bit before spotting his friend sitting, slumped, against the wall of the hallway.

Fine my rotting a**... Alex thought to himself as he shuffled over to Yin and poked him with a skeletal toe.

"Hey, so, I'm coming with you to make sure you're ok, whether you like it or not. You might try to get away from me, but it won't do you much good, sense, well, I'm a zombie and I'm not going to stop following you!" He grinned, though his eyes were dead serious.

Yǐn Cáng looked over at Alexander as he was nudged, somewhat startled. The zomboil had actually approached him undetected, and that more than anything told him that he was having problems. The look that the zomboil was giving him rather solidified things. He was going back to his room, and Alexander was going to accompany him.

He gave a short nod, "I am in your debt." Pushing himself from the wall he began to move forward, inwardly grateful that he was leaving the blobbish monster behind him. It felt cowardly, but he was glad to leave nonetheless. "If you could just ensure that I make it to my room I feel confident that I will be alright."

Oh excellent! He wasn't going to run and make Alex go after him! He gave the other boil a funny look at the indebted thing, though. Indebted for walking him back to his room? Weird.

"Um...maybe just another training session and we can be even again?" He tried to sound enthused, but it was very forced.

He reached out instinctively to help Yin rise from his place on the floor, but it didn't seem that the weremantis needed much help in that respect. Then Yin was on the move and Alex was falling into step beside him, hands dug into the pockets of his incredibly glittery black pants. He thought about asking the weremantis if he might have a spare shirt in his room that Alex could borrow but judging from the clothes Yin normally wore that would probably be a no, and he also doubted Yin would want the clothes back again once Alex wore them. They wouldn't be very clean or smell very good....

"Well, I can get you there as long as you tell me which way to go...I haven't had any reason to visit the monster dorms before."

"We will need to go outside at the end of the hallway, its past the ghost dorms." He never stopped to consider whether or not Alexander knew where the ghost dorms were, but at least it would prove that it was not precisely close.

A light frown creased his features. "I have already offered to train you, additional training sessions are already accounted for." As he said it he regretted it. The zomboil had sounded odd even as he had said it, of course he knew that, and was most likely attempting to be polite. "We can work it out later."

The hall to the doors to the outside seemed obscenely long as he walked, hunching over just a bit more as he moved, his main goal simply to get one foot in front of the other. They were almost to the door before he bumped into Alexander. Slightly mortified he straightened up, almost immediately. He was not so weak that he could not walk in a straight line. He was not.

Alexander dwelled in his own thoughts unhappily. He didn't like the prospect of trying to get Yin through the cold and the snow to his dorm, but he'd do whatever he could to get him there. When Yin bumped into him, he looked over to him sharply, worried that the other boil was about to fall over.

He couldn't believe that it was just that he was still sick from eating the rat earlier, mostly because Alex was feeling so much better, if not one hundred percent, from being to the infirmary. He didn't doubt that it was causing some of the problem, but Yins situation seemed to be deteriorating rather then getting better like Alex's had. It was a puzzling, to say the least, but he didn't want to come right out and ask Yin what was going on, in case it was a private problem.

"Here, let me get that." He said, as cheerfully as he could. He thought that staying positive might help a little. As quick as he could shamble he made his way to the door in front of Yin, and held it open for him, grimacing a bit at the cold air that blew in from outdoors, not because it bothered him but because he knew it wouldn't do Yin any favors.

He had made it all the way to the end of the hallway when Alexander added the final insult.

He opened the door for him.

Like he was incapable of opening it himself.

Of course, Yin was completely ignoring that he normally tried to hold the door open for others in an attempt to be polite. "I can get the door myself," he grumbled, and instead of going through the door he went out of the door next to it.

Or tried to at least. He pushed at it, the door budged, but did not open. Feeling more than pathetic he was forced to back up and go through the door being held open for him. Absolutely humiliated he trudged into the cold. At least he was too distressed to notice the chill for a good 10 seconds.

Was it getting a little frosty in here, or was that just because Alex was standing in the icy wind blasting through the doorway? Either way, he felt absolutely mortified when it became very obvious that Yin did not appreciate having the door held open for him.

And then Yin couldn't open the other door.

And then he came through the door that Alex held open after all.

The cheerful smile was wiped completely off of his face to be replaced with a look of total embarrassment. He stumbled out after Yin, keeping his eyes down cast. The snow was continuing to fall, clumping in Alex's hair and landing in small piles on his shoulders. It didn't melt like it might on a warm blooded creature.

Would telling the other boil he was sorry make matters better, or worse? He wasn't even sure he should try it to see. Instead he just kept his mouth shut, and his eyes down, with the odd glance up at the other boil to make sure he wasn't about to fall over.

The walk was long, but the idea of failing to make it to his own room was giving Yin the willpower to press on. They were passing by the ghost dorms when out of absolutely nowhere a tree decided that it had had enough. Or maybe a batling had decided to take a rest. Either way the branches bent and suddenly the mantodae was covered by snow as the tree dumped its contents on him.

The suddenness and weight of the snow forced him to his knees before he could react, but the on-setting chill was actually helping to dull the pain that had now spread along almost every inch of his body. Actually this does not feel too bad, he thought wearily to himself. Not even the thought of Alexander seeing this was motivating him to get back to his feet.

Alex could see it coming. He didn't even have a chance to shout out a warning before a tree unloaded it's contents all over Yin and buried him beneath a mass of snow. He did however, shout after the fact, however useless that might have been at that point.

"YINNN!!!" He stumbled over to the weremantis through the heavy snow, his normally sluggish steps made even more so by the fluffy white inconvenience. He fell to his knees beside the weremantis, and began frantically wiping the snow off of him. "C'mon buddy, get up! We can't stay here, and we don't have that much further to go, really! C'mon!" he encouraged the other boil, laughing nervously and moving around to the front of him. He stood up after knocking most of the snow off of Yin, and reached down to lift him to his feet, but kept one arm around him for support.

Being a zombie with better then average strength did have it's uses, occasionally!

Yin hated himself. He truly did, but he somewhat sagged against Alexander, able to continue plodding along fairly well like that. It would have been if the zomboil had not been a zombie however, as the chill setting into the mantodae was simply draining his bodies resources, and the extra heat would have been welcome.

He lifted an arm to point toward the monster dorm's entrance, making no move to break away from Alexander, who was possibly the only thing between him and collapsing into the snow for good.

He was pathetic.

Every once in a while he could feel Yin start to slip down, and Alex would have to stop and shrug the weremantis back up so as not to be too hunched over, and make himself fall to the ground himself. The walk seemed to go on forever, but finally, Yin pointed to something in the upcoming distance.

A door.

A DOOR!

Oh Jack a door! D:

Alexander had no idea how to deal with this new situation. Yin obviously could not open the door. Yin couldn't open the door when he wasn't quite as out of it as he was at this moment. Would Yin be ok with Alex opening the door now? The zomboil was incredibly confused about what action to take.

He finally decided that there was no alternative course. He had to open the door. So, when he reached the door, he used his free hand to open it wide, then shoved his foot into it to keep it open, and began to shuffle his way awkwardly inside.

The door seemed to help Yin get motivated. "Thank you," he said quietly and manages to pull himself away slightly. He was still leaning against the wall somewhat, but now that he was out of the wind he seemingly had another goal in mind.

He reached down and gripped the snowy and glittery hoodie and struggled to pull it off. Not actually caring that it was the middle of the entryway to the building he was content to let it simply fall to the ground. The reaper boil probably would not want it back.

But what was truly telling about the action was the rather awful bits of flesh stuck to the hoodie. Anywhere that had not been covered by the shirt seemed to have given up bits of skin, including parts of his face and neck from pulling the garment off. It was actually somewhat terrifying for the boil, who had neither experienced nor seen anything like this before. He tried to mask his fear though and instead pointed down a hallway. "I live down there."

Alex was no stranger to bits of flesh falling off, but in his case it was a bit different then Yins. He looked uneasily at the chunks of skin that were attached to the hoodie that Yin had flung to the floor. He wanted to ask Yin if it was normal, but he figured if it wasn't, the boil probably wouldn't seem so calm and cool about everything.

"Ok, ummm, can you make it without me holding you up now?" he gave the weremantis a rather curious look

Yin was glad that he had begun walking before the zomboil spoke up, as his face clouded with anger at the insinuation. He was perfectly fine. Absolutely perfectly fine.

And that was when his body decided that it was sick of him trying to be in control. Cracking and popping noises began, his legs separating into two separate pairs as bones separated and melted away, his skin hardening to support him instead. He was taller in his natural form, and when he turned to look at Alexander he was able to easily meet his eyes. "I am fine." The words had a slight hissed noise to them and his mandibles clacked, but the words were still discernible.

With that he began down the hallway, moving faster in this form. But his steps still faltered. And something about even his natural form did not seem quite right, as if all of the pieces were not precisely in the right spot. Even so, it was easy for the mantis to get lost in the maze of the monster dorms, headed back to home.
