RPing Rules If your thread is a private RP thread, please specify as such in the title of the thread.
Try to RP legibly. If people cannot read your post, they cannot logically RP with you.
Cursing is allowed as long as it does not hurt anyone's feelings.
No GodModding in battles.
Definitely no giving your Pokemon more powers than it has. No all powerful SnorlaxTwo.
Make sure to ask for permission before jumping into an RP.
Casual Battling Rules Before you can Battle you must first go to the Pokemon Center and get a journal, Then registrar your Pokemon in The Stats thread. Your Pokemon (unless otherwise noted) will start at lv. 5.
Go to Serebii's DP Dex and post the moves that your Pokemon can learn up to their current level.
You may use up to 5 moves per-battle
You may battle any pokemon within 5 levels of your own. both above and below is a good, even fighting level.
Wooga Paes Guide to Battling Is a great guide on the unwritten rules of Battling. Misc. Quoted from the Q&A thread Q. can l roleplay a legendary pokemon like Aritcuno and Moltres? A. in short, yes and no. You can only roleplay one if you have Hotaru's permission to do so. And if one does pop up you are not allowed to battle or capture it. Also it does not mean that pokemon will be going for sale/raffle/action anytime soon.
Q. Can I control Team Rocket and be the leader!? Can I be best friends with Brock!? Can I be Norman and control his pokemon!!!???
A. No, NPC's like those can only be used by mods. Regular members can however make random NPC's like crowds, people walking around or being mean, wild pokemon to battle, and such. NPC's like gym leaders from games, people like Ash and Gary, Professors like Oak and Birch, and Team Rocket can only be used by mods, unless we give you permission.

Note on roleplaying physic pokemon/trainer Originally posted by Poke Mattix
Note: These rules apply to casual RP and battling ONLY How to be a physic pokemon trainer For starters, yes you can have a psychic Pokemon Trainer with LIMITED power. Limited power include the ability to move or alter the shape of small inanimate objects like a rock or bend a spoon. Anything beyond this will be classified as Godmodding.
Because Godmodding is against the rules, reading minds as a power is off limits. It simply leaves too many loopholes to deal with.
Communicating to your Pokemon (Not other trainers) using your mind is allowed, as physics can have that "link" with their physic pokemon. However this can only occur at close range. This is banned during casual and official battles however, as your attack must be made clear. How to use a physic Pokemon during casual RP battling When using a confusion/physic attack, treat it like any normal pokemon attack such as a pound or a thunderwave. All it's gonna do is cause damage and have a slight chance of causing a status effect depending on the move. You are NOT allowed to controll another persons pokemon in battle, reguardless of the description of the move your using.
Like the trainer a physic pokemon can use it's mind to do things like move small inanimate objects and bend spoons. As it levels up it's skill will allow it to lift heavier objects. However it won't be able to lift anything too unreasonable, as in a TV set or bed, untill it is a high level such as 40 or 50
Regarding moves such as recover/synthesis/moonlight, you can use the move only 3 times per casual RP battle, and will recover about 1/3 of your Pokemons health.
