Nuru had barely even started setting messing up his new dorm room when the dead silence flushed him out. Not much seemed to be happening at all in the ghost dorms at the moment even as he drifted farther and farther away from the cheery little catacombs.
Before he knew it he was at a large ornate wooden door. One of his ears perked ever so slightly at soft noises inside. He pushed the door open and wandered inside. It was a library of sorts and was possibly the quietest place he could have picked.
That was beside the point though. There were people, too. Various ghouls and boils distractedly paging through books. His glowing red eyes quickly scanned from person to person thoughtfully. In search of someone specific to drift near and observe.

Zar was utterly in his element in the library, as it was he had a large stack of very boring looking books spread on the desk in front of him and was currently writing intermittently in three seperate notebooks, a pen in each hand and one in his tail's grip, looking only at the books in question and not even at what he was actually writing, despite this still managing very neat and legible handwriting. Occaisionally he would flip a page in one of the books or, even more oddly still, place a hand on one of them and keep it there for some time before continuing writing.
Either way he seemed completely immersed in what he was doing, occaisionally pulling off feathers from his wings to use as bookmarks on the papers and in the books.
For someone doing what looked like utterly tedious work, he looked ..surprisingly content, even humming as he worked.

All the people looked soooo depressed. It made his every gesture slump ever so slightly. It was people - but it was UNHAPPY people. That was... until his wandering gaze settled on Zar. He did not understand what the demon was doing, but that he was not only absorbed in it - but seemed to be enjoying the hell out of himself.
The boil studied the demons face carefully. Just to be sure. Before he floated nearer for a better look at this... enjoyment. He attempted to just... pretend he was a bookshelf as he took to watching. Hoping he wouldn't disturb the moment too terribly.

The paperwork demon likely wouldn't have noticed Nuru if the ghost had wandered over wearing neon bright colours, he was multitasking to the limit of his attention and right about then anything could have gone by the little table he was sat at and he would have been none the wiser. But there was always that unmistakable unnerving feeling of being watched that sloooowly crept up on you. He ignored it initially, used to his peripheral vision playing tricks on him, used to ignoring the vestigal instincts of his race in favour of paperwork. In fact he seemed to pick up his pace a little in response to the feeling, a little more fervently completing the documents and neatly filing them away in a little leather-bound folder.
But still the feeling didn't budge and it was really beginning to distract him. He finally grudgingly paused what he was doing and looked around with an irritable frown, expecting there to be nothing there and almost falling out of his chair when there was.
"How long have you been there?!" he squeaked as if he'd been doing something forbidden.

Nuru wilted as he apparently disrupted the demons enjoyment. He looked mildly forlorn by this loss but that effect was short lived. His expression relaxed again at the startled voice that erupted. Ah. The sound of voices. It was almost addicting. He had been so long without hearing voices, it was certainly a welcome change.
"A while." He recalled with a faint smile. "You're.... really good at whatever it was you were doing."

Zar raised a brow, even as he did so, putting away most of the papers he could seize as if Nuru was some sort of corporate spy out to steal his work, filing them all into the folder he'd brought with him, even in his haste still putting them into their relevantly colour coded chapters in it. He seemed almost absurdly flustered at having been caught working on whatever it was he had been however, moreso than anyone else caught doing what looked to all intents and purposes predominantly staff wages.
"If you don't know what I was doing, how do you know I'm any good at it?" he snapped almost over-defensively, seeming to be attempting to mask his embarassment by going on some sort of offensive with Nuru as the hapless victim, despite the ghost's thusfar soft and rather kind words. "Who are you?" he asked, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

"Hey hey heyyy... " The ghost attempted to calm Zar down.
"No need to be an a** about it. I just meant. Not everyone can do alll those things at once... and seem to enjoy it." He took on an almost vaguely defensive tone in response.
"I'm Nuru. Who are you?" He sliiiid his arms to cross them in front of his chest in a more notable defensive gesture.
He frowned softly at Zar now as he wasn't sure what to make of the demon anymore at this point. Seemed aggressive. Seemed angry. Seemed... upsett?... He raaaiiiised a brow.

Zar seemed to realise he was over-reacting finally and tried to relax and smooth out the ruffled edges to his posture, rearranging his tie as he so often did when he was reigning back the more emotional side of his nature, pushing his glasses back up his nose with a claw as he closed the folder with a small clip and took a slow steadying breath. Yes that seemed to do the trick.
"Zar." he stated grudgingly, fighting the urge to give the other boil a businesscard just to reaffirm how back to controlled business he was. "And I apologise for my ..abruptness. I'm used to working in my dormitory, so I don't deal well with interruption." Yes, paperwork was one of those things you did behind closed doors, like bathing. Why did the library need to have specific books that weren't for loan? It was a horrible upsetting state of affairs, forcing him to have to work disgracefully out in the open. He was tempted to leave a strongly worded opinion in the suggestion box on the way out about backwards attitudes.
"Now, can I help you?"

Well... that was an improvement at least. The ghost relaxed notably returning his arms at his sides. His nose twitching idly as he tried to get a scent off the other boil for identification. Pulling a somewhat unreadable face.
Still, he quietly listened to Zars more... soothing.. business tone for a while. Enjoying it. That was until he was asked a question.
"Help me? No. I was just.." He wasn't sure how to put this exactly.
"I'm new. I was lonely. I came to watch." Hie eyes seemed to glow slightly brighter as if playfully emphasizing his intent.

Zar blinked. Clearly he hadn't gotten the correct end of the stick. "You came to watch? Watch what exactly in a library? Other people?" he couldn't imagine any other use for a library than books, the idea of coming there to merely..watch people seemed odd to him and somewhat unsettling. And why him? Surely he wasn't interesting to watch. Still, he didn't latch onto it too hard for the moment, instead focusing on the boil's other comment.
"New eh?" a bit of the fire seemed to come back to the demon's eyes, his smile revealing just a bit too much tooth. "Well that, I know how that feels. I was new only a few weeks ago. I suppose I'm..less new to this place now. And I suppose that for lonliness the library is as good a place as any, most of the people here would be in the same boat, bookish..segregated types. " He included himself in that sweeping generalisation too.

"You got it." he smirked playfully as he replied. Zar answering his question for him.
Though he looked a bit more concerned as the look on Zars face seemed a bit /too/ happy this time around. It unsettled the boil rather thoroughly but he chose not to mention it.
"Yeah, new." He smiled feebly.
"Though. This place... not as.. well... You seemed to be the only one enjoying yourself." He confessed while gesturing in the direction of a depressed-looking ghoul who seems to be failing a class.

Zar snorted "Most people don't know how to enjoy a good bit of work, they just sulk and complain about having to do it. Paperwork as a rule is my "thing". I enjoy it, its a hobby as well as a task. So of course I'd be enjoying myself doing it. Its..theraputic" He curled his tail lazily around the chair legs as he spoke, eyeing Nuru thoughtfully.
"Still. Its nice to meet someone who is new aswell, everyone else I've met up till now I've had to be especially nice to because they know their way around more than I do. But youuuu."

Nuru began to look uneasy again, what was this demons deal? They were unquestionably acting suspicious. Like a cat that has a cornered mouse. Well. He was certainly no mouse.
"Does that mean you have no intent to be nice?" He decided to ask directly now. Red gaze scanning the demons face.

Zar raised a brow. "But I am being nice I thought? I've not asked you to leave or anything and it was you who startled me after all. I just mean I don't need to suck up to you in the hopes of getting what I want." he drummed his claws on the table. "I can be..honest I suppose. Like, I could give you advice? Bring you up to speed on school politics and the like."
Even if he had no idea about the reality of events in the school to date, that didn't mean he couldn't make it up a little.

"Oh?" Nuru leaaaned in curiously. "Do tell?"
Zar thoroughly had Nuru's interest captured. The ghost watching him as intently as ever. He needed the help really. He was floating around so clueless to where anything even was beyond his hodgepodge he calls a dorm room.
