Lestari seeing someone she's met before, and follows him.

You need to do this, act like that, walk this way. Lestari was too tired and pissed off to deal with her mother, so she’d decided to take a walk to clear her mind. Now that the emperor was dead, some were trying to regain a normal life pace, Sintas included trying to endlessly bother her by trying finding Lestari a husband to get rid of her. Soon though, soon she would be out of her home and would find work elsewhere. She would miss her family, but she would be a free woman and that was all that mattered at the moment. The only thing she took comfort in was that Sara allowed her even more freedom, her mother was a fool for thinking Les had any priestly powers about her. Anyone could have told her that, but no one dared start an argument with Sinta, that woman was unstoppable.

The market place seemed to be getting in better shape now, the first thing that had been removed were the dead bodies thank god. Lestari would have been unable to clear her mind if she’d been walking beside death, surrounded with the stink as it strangled her. When Les looked at people, they still had a scared frail look, but it was getting better. Hopefully they would have a new emperor and everything would go back to what it used to be, except they didn’t have a reason to be angry with the nobles anymore. There was also the fact that no body had been found, nor had killers been found. Maybe the emperor was still alive... Somewhere.

Good thing there weren’t any corpses, or she might have missed the hulking man she’d met before. Lestari narrowed her eyes, she was a few meters form him but it was hard to miss him. What had Sara introduced him as? Bat... Bataar? She was curious about him, especially the way him and Sara had met. Les wanted to know more about the priestess, so what better way than to ask someone who seemed like they knew her very, very well. This would be a good time to practise what she had learned, she would try and blend into the crowd and follow him. Les was behind him, she would tempt herself, try and get close as possible while not getting caught. She started weaving through the crowd slowly, watching his back like a hawk in case he decided to turn.

Bataar examined the cages with a tiny scowl, brushing his fingers against them as if they might tell him something he didn't already know. Quite a few people had been getting on him to cage his pet rats and he'd been considering it; that would mean that he would lose less of them, and that he could feed them regularly. It wasn't for anyone like Sara, who hated the creatures. It was, Bat told himself, only for the good of the animals.

He toyed with one of the larger wooden cages, trying to make sense of the contraption. Surely the rats would like it and take fondly to it, wouldn't they? The captain frowned, figuring that he'd take another walk around the marketplace before he fully decided. This was, after all, a big, potentially life-changing decision he had to make here. These were his darling rats and he had to make the best decision for them.

The man frowned and turned on his heel, striding along at a pace that was probably not healthy, especially because just a moment later he knocked an academy student over. Bat paused, looking slightly irked. "Watch where you're going." he muttered, but in a tone that was slightly apologetic. He never knew whose fault it was when he ran into people; it was impossible to know.

Beyond that, it had started more than a few unlucky fights, which didn't seem a good idea at the moment.

It was too late, she’d gotten too close and the guy had knock her to the ground. Damn, she really was bad at this, it just proved Lestari had to get better. Les wished he hadn’t been so big though, the floor was dirty and hard, she’d landed right on her butt, and she’d probably be sore for a few days. She glared at him before picking herself off the ground and dusting herself off. Once that was done, she pointed a finger at him. “You there! You’re name’s Bataar right?” It wasn’t the most polite way of asking, but he’d knocked her down and hadn’t even helped her back up.

“You know Sara right?” Lestari recognized him now, there was no denying it, and if he tried to lie to her she’d just follow him until she got what she wanted from him. Though even if she remembered who he was, would he remember when they had met? It felt like an eternity, but they’d met in a street like this. Hopefully they would be getting off the street soon, they were in the middle of the darn place and people were bumping into her left and right. “I’m Lestari,” she added quickly. “Sara introduced us.” She sincerely hoped he remembered, she did not feel like retelling the day they'd met. Being held a hostage had not been fun, and she wanted to forget the whole event.

The grouchy Mongol stared down at the girl on the ground and was about to continue on in search of the right purchase when she addressed him by name. Being the imperceptive individual that he was, he didn't recognize her at all. He opened his mouth to respond when the next question hit, and he was brought into more of a befuddled silence than anything else. It was probably immediately evident that he had no idea who this girl was, or when they'd be introduced, but he immediately threw on a charming smile(more of an awkward baring of his teeth).

"Of course I know who you are," he confirmed, lying and hoping that it was nothing important. It would probably make it easier for both of them if he just kept up this front, and besides, he was curious as to why he was being so directly related to Sarangerel. Generally speaking, that was a friendship that wasn't entirely out in the open for obvious reasons. They were both different factions, for one. That alone was slightly taboo, given that he was a captain. Elevated rank was, after all, a matter of importance in this war.

Bat continued staring at the girl, trying to make out who she was, and failing. He'd go along with her conversation for the time being, he supposed. It was the best that he could do, and if it was in relation to Sara then he supposed he was interested. Beyond that, it was looking like he was going to have all the time in the world at his disposal today. Conversation would not be unwelcome.

Lestari starred up at Bataar dubiously; didn’t he know how to treat a lady? Or for that matter did he not have any good manners? He was simply starring down at her as if he didn’t know who she was, but he’d clearly told her he knew. Sighing loudly, Les picked herself up from the street, dusted herself off and rubbed where there were dirt spots. Sinta would surely reprimand her for getting dirty once she returned home, Lestari’s lips turned into a grim line as she starred at the spots left. Bataar’s teeth barring smile did not help her mood either, would she even be able to have a normal conversation with him? The blue haired Lunarian was doubtful.

“Look, we met when the king…” Letari paused as the images came back to her, “when the king died, Sara introduced us.” You grabbed onto her hands and she looked at you like you were her savior. Though, those words went unsaid and she wasn’t here to judge anyways, just find out more about Sara. “In any case, Sara is taking care of me.” Well, she was helping her, but Lestari saw it was taking care of her. “And since I don’t really know anything about her, I was wondering if you were willing to share some of what you know about her.” He would probably find her odd, and in the worst case not tell her anything at all. The only thing Lestari could think of that might make him a bit more talkative was get some beer into him. “We can always talk about it over beer and we’d be able to get off the street.” Les sounded desperate, but Bataar was the first of Sara’s friends that she was meeting after the event that had transpired.

“And if you want, you can ask me questions too.” It was only fair she offer something in return, even if it meant perhaps giving someone Lestari had never met information about herself.
