Forte bit her lip as she sat scanning the set up she had created. She was crazy, had to be crazy to put this all together. She hadn't seen her whole family together in sometime and she had missed them terribly. So what better then to create a type of family reunion for all the Pardus's and their loved ones to come see one another? She had recruited her daughter and a housemate to help her uncover the address of every family member tied to her grandmamri and grandmama and sent an invitation to today.

The picnic tables were set up, food was set on a long table to the side, and a game or two were to the side in case some of the younger generation got bored of the 'old people'. Now all she had to do was wait.....and make sure Rogue didn't go off to train, but actually got to know her family.

Rogue was sulking slightly off to the side. Sure it would be great to get to know her family, heck some of them might even be able to teach her some magic or something. However the time spent here mingling and pleasing everyone could be better spent training. If only her mother was distracted long enough she could sneak off for some practice.....

(Rogue and Forte for those that don't know what they look like)

User Image He sat there, eying the invitation left at his door. Sure he knew he had a large family.. full of sisters no less but then the last time he'd seen any of them he'd been a kit. Looking up at the building that stood before him, he heaved a small sigh and stood up. What better way to find out just how large you family really was than to visit and meet them right? Right. He nodded to himself before walking up to the door and giving it a knock. Glowing green eyes darted around almost unsure as to what to expect to have happen in the end. Last he'd heard males were few and far between within the family so he wagered the place might be crawling with females.

"Family reunion"? To someone who had been raised in the same town as her entire family, the idea of a get-together involving the entire family seemed strange to Ebony at first. But then again, in a place where the family was all spread out...Of course it would make sense! She wasn't sure where her mate was at the moment, and Miro had declined to join his adopted family out of some sort of ridiculous fear of not being accepted (oh, the arguments that had led to, but in the end, she had decided that he had the right to refuse), but with the growing season over and several of her family members practically at her fingertips, Ebony had eagerly made plans to join in. Their family was getting so large, and Ebony was afraid in the back of her mind that she might never get to know everyone. What would Mamrigash Pa'das say?

She hadn't thought about her own grandmother in a while. Sure, she'd thought of her--having children and then grandchildren of her own, how could she not remember when her own grandmother was alive?--but it had been years since she remembered the old noodle's voice, the way she would boss the rest of the family around, her pride in her little clan. That was the way it should be, ushering in lost children, offering food to everyone. The thought of her grandmother scolding her grandfather made Ebony smile. I miss you, Mamrigash. I only hope I can spoil my own children as well as you did.

Lamia, too, had jumped at the chance to see the rest of her family. Thinking about her own motivation made her feel depressed, but made her giggle as well, when she thought of it more abstractly--who would have thought that she'd have to go to a family reunion to reconnect with her own children? Zoya she'd seen the other day, and Pallas she lived with, but what had happened to Hex or Lavanya? Mentally, she was crossing her fingers that more of her children would be here. Please be here, please be here... She worried most about Hex--what would he think, being surrounded by girls? It seemed her family was female-dominant, with most litters being full of girls, girls, and more girls. Ebony enjoyed it, but privately, Lamia worried for the boys, surrounded by women. Not that men were that different, but what if they felt threatened?

A brief conversation with her aunt had confirmed to Pallas that the two of them shared a purpose coming here--to relocate lost siblings. According to Lamia, she doubted that Itzli, Ixtab, or Ori would be joining them, and at least one of her cousins would likely be absent as well, but Pallas was more certain about her own siblings. Surely they'd come! She refused to allow doubt to register in her own mind. Sure, she was running ahead of Ebony, but that was because she wanted to get there first, to wrap arms around the necks of beloved cousins, aunts, uncles, not out of any fear that she alone of her litter would be there. She would find her old relatives, and she would talk with them, and she would learn, and by Goddess, she'd have fun, too!

At the back of the group came Mana. She had almost joined her adopted brother, but at the last minute, she had decided to come with. To tell the truth, her reluctance was due in large part to her own lack of magic. She hated the idea of being surrounded by family all showing off their own tricks and lessons, when the only "magic" she could do was in games. Empathy? That didn't count as magic, that was just a side-effect, according to Mamri's extensive book collection. In the end, two things had convinced her--the desire, the need to see her littermates (in case they came), and the desire not to sit around moping, feeling sorry for herself when she could be having some social interaction outside of work or gaming. Besides the fact that Mamri put on the waterworks whenever she thought it would get her family together. Who would have thought that a sorceress who made a show out of being mysterious and aloof would be so obsessed with family?

Besides, Mana had heard a rumor about Ori, and she wanted to know if it was true. Maybe she could find out here?

Twitching her ear back in reflex at the noise Rogue lifted her head to gaze toward home. Smirking she gave her mom a look before shaking her head and heading toward the house. She had obviously forgotten to tell the family the party was to be held a bit away from the house to avoid some of the less then pleasant members of their household. Taking her time towards the home picked up some tape and duct taped a path towards the opening filled with everything. As she got closer she finally ripped it, then dropped the ring to find later when they were to clean up. Noticing the small glow she had come to associate with her family she leaned against the strange entrance to their house. "Hey take it you're a cousin? The gatherings supposed to be over there. My names Rogue." Better to just call everyone cousin here until she could figure things out. No need to offend anyone. "I should probably put up a sign or something...." Spotting other family members as well she grinned at the male. "Maybe you can help escourt some of the other family there while I set up some more?"

Forte watched Rogue go with a sigh and a warning look. If the girl went off instead of welcoming her family she would be sorry. Stealing her armor would be much too easy. She did used to prank when she was little after all. Casting one last little look she nodded to herself. Now just to wait. From the way Rogue had taken off probably meant others were here. And that thought made her marks glow brightly in happiness. She had really missed her family.

He seemed vaguely lost as to what to call Rogue. It was when he grasped her name that he decided it better to just call her by that till he was sure what his relation was to her. "Pleasure meeting you, Rogue." He offered a small sleepy smile. Usually he'd be comatose once more, lulled to sleep by things he still had yet to understand. He saw things in his sleep now days, things he'd never seen before. Like he'd been walking through the dreams of others when he closed his eyes. It fascinated him in a level some might consider a near unhealthy obsession. "I'm Hex." He said stifling a yawn till he finally followed her gaze to the approaching others. Wait.. some of those he recognized well enough.. they weren't just family.. one was his mother, the other his sister Pallas. "Sure.. I'll greet them and let them know which way to go.." Seeing familiar faces seemed to perk him up some. After all.. If anyone in the family could shed some light on his excessive sleeping, perhaps she would be the one to ask?

There was no mistaking those glowing wings up ahead. Pallas took off in a full sprint towards her brother. "Hex!" she shrieked in delight. Without a thought, she launched herself at her brother, wrapping her arms tight around his neck in a glomp. "Hex, it's been so long, you got the invitation too? That's wonderful! Have you been doing any magic? Have you got a job? What've you been up to? Are Lavanya or Zoya coming? It's so good to see you!" She nodded briefly to the blond in the doorway. She knew she had seen her around here somewhere, and she definitely had some markings that marked her as a Pardus, though she wasn't sure where the pink came from. The purple eyes were a Pardus trait, though, weren't they?

"Hi!" she said breathlessly. "I'm Pallas! I'm Lamia's daughter, she's Ebony and Luaith's daughter. Are you one of Ori's descendents? You must be my cousin or second cousin or something."

User Image Chamber padded over the hill, his tail flicking lazily. He had to admit, he was curious to see more of his family, though he was nervous. He had heard some of his family were touchy, and that...

Hn. He could feel emotions if he touched someone, and unless it was Maikoa he didn't enjoy touching others. Perhaps his parents and siblings, they were close and different, but he didn't know the other Pardus members much.

Approaching the spot, he spotted his mother first and slipped beside her, flipping his tail over hers. "Mother." Ah, good. Much happier right beside his mother, much.

Nodding her head she was about to head in when she was stopped by a rather excited voice talking Hex's ear off. Siblings probably...weird how different they were to how she was with her siblings. "Yeah Ori's my grandpa, I'm Forte's daughter, my moms the one who set this all up. She has this huge thing about family..." Trailing off she rolled her eyes slightly, her mom never seemed to STOP talking about family. Ever. "So I guess we're cousins then. Do you two know any magic?" Forgetting what she had originally gone to do she leaned against the door slightly, curious to know if they had the ability to just kinda do what they wanted with magic.

Smiling she gazed happily at her son as he came, not as surprised as she should be that he was the first to show. Chamber had always seemed to be much more dedicated to the idea of family then her other children. "I'm glad to see you son! How have you been?" Feeling his tail she nodded, knowing that he could feel her excitement about everything. "And how is your little friend I believe her name was Mai something?" She had always been curious what had ever happened to the dear, she hadn't seen her since Chamber was still a bowl.

Hex chuckled lightly as his sister greeted him. He'd always seemed to be the lazy one of the bunch.. all drowsy and grumpy when disturbed of his naps but he always offered a smile for family. "Hey Pallas.. It has been too long.. and sadly.. not much in the jobs department.. I've been Helping out some friends.. when I'm not sleeping.." He stifled a yawn as he spoke, that drowsy look crossing over his eyes as usual. "I've been finding it harder to stay a wake for more than a few hours actually.. I just seem to do more sleeping than anything.. but you wouldn't believe the things I see.. It's my dreams I need to speak to mother about.. they're.. well simply put they're not my own.. Funny how I never showed any skill in the 'family trade' till after I'd grown up..." He gave his sister a pat with one of his wings as he looked at his cousin. "My sleep issues is partially why I decided to come to this get together.. I thought I could pick the brains of my family and see if this is just something I should be worried about since I've never showed any magical usage till now.. I didn't realize it was some one else's dream till my friend told me he'd seen me in it... " His face faltered in an almost thoughtful look. "Then of course I also came to see my siblings and mother.." He looked at Pallas once more. "Is anyone else from the family going to show up? or are we it? You know.. out other siblings and such..."

"Awwww, sorry about the jobs," Pallas said sympathetically. She gave her brother another quick squeeze. "I've been trying to get a job at a greenhouse, but Mom says it might be a bad idea." She turned to her cousin. "I have plant magic," she explained. "Mom's worried that I'll get in trouble if someone finds out I might be using magic to help with the plants growing. Not that I'd do that--I mean, except in dire circumstances. What's your name? I don't think I caught it anywhere. And yeah, a whole bunch of the family is coming. Uncle Miro is somewhere else--probably with his mate--but Mamrigash, my mother, and Aunt Mana are coming, so there's that." She sighed. "No idea whether our sisters are coming, Hex, but with Ebony here, we should be able to figure out your dream-walking no problem."

Lamia stood quietly in the background, waiting for Pallas to let Hex go so that she could give her son a big hug. It had been so long since she'd seen all her babies, but that sad ache in her heart eased when she heard her son talk about how he wanted to see her. Without waiting, she stepped forward and hugged Hex tightly. "Hex," she said warmly. "It's wonderful to see you!"

Keeping close to her mother, Mana slipped past her nieces and nephew and into the kitchen. From the looks of it, it was mostly an extended family here. She'd rather keep to the shadows for now.

Ebony nodded briefly to the tangle of young noodles at the door and slipped into the backyard to the picnic tables. Already she could see Forte and Chamber there--she made an active effort to remember the name of all of her family members. "Forte! Thank you for organizing this." She gave her granddaughter a smile.

Listening to them talk was interesting. Not only about their own powers but just about their family. Heck it was even affecting her, making her need to see her siblings stronger then it'd been since she was a kit. Hopefully the others came. Smirking she realized at least Chamber would be here. He was SUCH a momma's boy. "Dream magic...sounds fun." Of course she wouldn't mention that wasn't the kind of magic she would ever want, no need to be rude to family, it was better saved for more annoying rivals. "Plant magic sounds interesting too. I'm Rogue." About to continue she picked up on a couple more people, eying behind her cousins cautiously before actually smiling for the first time since the party started. A mother to these two no doubt, another.....cousin? And that had to be her great grandmama. Gods knew her mom had only gushed about her rescuing her and Aunt Tam way back when. Well at least her mom wouldn't get bored all alone back there.

Smiling again at her son she felt a warm tug at her stomach when the first family member entered her little section of the party, and to see it was her grandmama was possibly the greatest gift the new mom could be given right now. "I'm glad you came Grandmama! Though if anyone were to come I had a feeling it would be you." Remembering her son hadn't been properly introduced she made a slight tilt of her head toward the older woman, turning toward her son. "Chamber this is my grandmama Pardus, I'm sure you've heard me mention her but I don't think you've met her before." Smiling again at the woman she looked around her curiously. "I'm surprised you came alone though, I would have thought Grandma Luaith would have been tagging along to cause some mischief or at least to coo over a grandchild or two."

Hex smiled as his mother hugged him. He'd missed this. the voice of his mother from his brief time with them as a kit. Allowing himself to simply melt against her, he couldn't help the smile that had crossed his face. "It's good to see you too, mom." Hugging her back, he breathed in her familiar scent and chuckled before stepping back to take a full look at her. "Seems I'm a bit of a late bloomer..." He laughed full heartedly and looked from his sister to his cousin. "I'm actually happier just being here and glad I have some family to see. My house mate's have rather gone their own way.. some of them finding some new houses so to say for their growing families."

"Maikoa."

He looked at his mother, nodding gently, his eyes softening. "She's.... she's good. My mate, actually." As more family came over, his head raised, greeting them each with a nod. Glancing at his grandmother, he smiled at her as well.

"Hello." He added, casually flicking his tail as he viewed the others. Um, his family was huge.
