The roar of the crowd vibrated through the ground and up through the soles of each troll, as they stood and sat around the ring of the arena. Here and there, trolls weighed down with snack dispersion units staggered down the aisles, but even they stopped and craned their heads towards the arena as the two gates on either side of the pit opened.

Sitting high up in her royal box, Regina flourished a microphone, then, taking a deep breath, leaned over and bellowed into it.

"Laydeeees ayynnnnd gentletroooolls! Ooon the right, she's eaten better trolls for dinner, but will she manage to swallow this tough customer? Four Frond's very own Froooossa Fyrste! Aaaaand on the left, he walks the walk but can he talk the talk? Climbing down from Busthind to busts some hinds, it's Sempuuuuur Livora!"

Trolls who are watching the battle can post in this thread. While battles are posted ooc all at the same time, ic battles are one after the other. If your troll is in another battle, they can still post as a spectator.

Frossa shifted her weight from one leg to another, bouncing on spot. A huge grin split across her face as she stood at the opposing side of the arena from her opponent, eager to start her fight. Said opponent was a highblood barely a few shades bluer than herself; something she was pleased with. He was obviously scarred with battle, an experienced fighter. A worthy adversary! Frossa spun her retracted flail in her hand, contemplating her first move as the Queen introduced the two combatants. A small giggle escaped her throat at the queen's cheeky commentary, how did their leader know she had such a diet? Either way, she was pleased the information was out there. Sempur Livora was the name of her opponent, apparently. She paused a moment, giving the blue blood one last look over before deciding it was appropriate to attack. Darting off towards Semp with alarming speed, Frossa kept her flail retracted as she swung at Semp, testing the waters.

Sempur, meanwhile was frozen, and not just in his usual at attention stance. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't frozen in fear either, because he never felt any sort of fear ever... but maybe it was something close to that. His blood ran as cold as ice water as he stared at the symbol on his opponent's shirt. She was a purpleblood and he had to fight her. Had to, right, for the royale he signed up for and she did too obviously they were both looking for fights here so he should just...

His attempts to rationalize this event to his own stupidly rigid adherence to the hemospectrum stopped right in its tracks as the Queen gave her introduction. To think he was so hyped up to see her earlier, and now he didn't even comprehend it was their dear leader speaking because he was now too hung up on the fact that this Frossa Fyrste was apparently a cannibal.

It wasn't quite horror what he felt, because Sempur never felt fear, but it was damn close.

He finally broke out of his little existential crisis when Frossa charged, all wild-eyed and holy ******** was that a flail. Just barely side-stepping, he instinctively went for a shot with his brass knuckles, not quite ready to use the blades of his trench knives yet. He was still trying to convince himself that she attacked first so it was OK now really!

Hopping back lightly out of Semp's reach, Frossa glanced down at her arm. He had grazed her, her indigo blood barely forming little bubbles of blood on the wound. "Oh, come now." Frossa scoffed, resting a hand on her hip as she surveyed her opponent once more. "You obviously have more fight in you than that!" Clicking the button by her thumb, the ball on her mace dropped, revealing the long chain. She began to swing it above her head, the weapon picking up momentum as she slowly swaggered closer to Semp. "Don't embarrass us highbloods," she chirped, grinning just as vibrantly as before. Was he holding back because her blood was a few shades later? The tell tale scars of battle across his face said yes. "Show me what you're really made of!"

Frossa flicked her wrist, a motion barely noticeable unless one was staring at the hand holding her weapon. Without warning, the spinning of her flail deviated from it's circular rotation and headed straight for Semp. Frossa practically shivered with excitement- was the blueblood a good match for her like she suspected or was he going to let himself be pushed around despite the circumstances? She'd find out.

Sempur stayed tensed, ready to dodge again, maybe throw another half-hearted (though he wouldn't admit it) punch at her. Frossa may have only given a glance at the wimpy wound, but Sempur still wasn't completely over the fact. Maybe a little bit of it was anger at himself because seriously was that it, but he could not stop staring at the blood he had spilled, so much more... well, better than his own. Better than perfect, such was a purpleblood's right, apparently.

He finally snapped his gaze upwards when Frossa spoke, instinctively straightening in respect as his superior spoke to him. Or rather, taunted, and Sempur couldn't help but feel some admiration for her. She was a cutesy thing, but as fierce as her caste demanded. Well, that supposed cannibalism might have been going a bit far, but who was he to question a purpleblood?

She was really showing offer her weapon now, and Sempur narrowed his eyes as she approached, wanting to move, knowing he should, but she was speaking so it would be disrespectful. Someone else in the stands apparently didn't care so much for the idea, the yell jolting him into movement, but Sempur was a bit too late. The flail crashed into his shoulder, tearing his beloved uniform and staining it with blue with his blood. Well, bluer than it already was.

Actions as subdued as ever, Sempur only hissed at the pain, but remembered his place. He should oblige her, after all she gave the command. Raising a hand in a mock salute, blade to his head instead of fingers, his answer was deadpan. "By your orders, ma'am." Determination renewed, he surged forward, attacking with both trench knives now. He took pride in a job well done, after all.

Here was one of the guys Zeffer had been waiting to see enter the arena. Really, he was eager to watch both trolls in this match, and it certainly would be an interesting battle. Freckles versus the Military Mohawk. He was kind of sad that Frossa hadn't been paired with that icy green blood from before, but maybe they'd face off later. Settled down into one of the lower areas of the coliseum, his lusus had managed to save him a good seat, and he set right about screaming at the combatants while Arcus took up about four or five seats next to him, looking agitated as ever.

"COME ON MOHAWK, MOVE, GET 'ER!!"

Zeffer couldn't help but wonder why his fellow blueblood seemed to have gotten cold feet at first. But then he noticed Frossa's weapon and his eyebrows raised. Oh s**t, no wonder. Even he'd be a bit more hesitant facing someone with a weapon like that, but the guy had been so full of that aggressive spark during signups. He winced when the purpleblood managed to land a pretty harsh blow, and waited to see how Sempur would retaliate.

13 / 2O

Frossa let out a small grunt as Sempur's knives collided with her fail attempt at blocking. The hilt of her flail could only do so much against two blades, and she had to jump back in retreat before it snapped from the force of Semp's attack. Her weapon wasn't exactly built for taking hits like that, and apparently neither was the small troll. She glanced down at her arm once more; the light scratch she had gained from her opponent's first attack now had a deeper, more serious friend. Indigo blood ran down her arm, smearing across her skin as she tried to wipe some of the excess off.

She turned her attention back to Semp, gleaming. While it was nice to see some respect from the lower castes, especially from one so close to her own colour, Frossa couldn't help but be slightly disappointed. The blue blood was definitively still holding back, even if he had unleashed a pretty devastating blow on her. Still, it was merely a single blow. He had more in him. "That's more like it!" Frossa exclaimed, waving her uninjured arm in the air enthusiastically. She seemed more like a child in the midst of a simple game than anything else.

Tossing her flail to her uninjured arm, Frossa lifted her fingers to her face to slowly clean a finger of her own indigo hued blood. "Let's get down to business, shall we?" She let out a maniacal giggle before giving her fingers a couple more licks. It was unclear whether the troll merely liked psyching her opponent out or was really that twisted. Whipping her flail around carelessly once more, Frossa's hips swayed with confidence as she stepped closer to Semp. The ball and chain whipped around the arena, over both of the young troll's heads. In one powerful motion, Frossa attempted to bring the heavy chunk of metal right on top of poor Sempur.

So much of that precious purple blood again, it was hard not to get mesmerized! But, Sempur was strangely proud of the wound he had managed to inflict. Hopefully that was up to Frossa's standards, and he felt something akin to amusement when he saw how much she was enjoying herself. He might have even smiled were he capable of it, this fight the closest to "fun" he had had in a while. Sempur's near-good mood immediately dropped, however, when his opponent began licking her fingers. Aaaaand back to repulsed again.

He did not reply to her goading this time, more intent on watching that damn flail again. He began to slowly circle her, wary, hoping to dodge and get a hit in—there, he had a split second to dodge as he saw the ball descend, rushing forward. Unfortunately, dodging was never Sempur's forte. Sure, he could take hits like a boss, but this hit, well. The flail thundered down on Sempur's head, bringing him to a knee, teeth clattering together from the force and oh was that cracking sound his horn there? Fantastic.

Sempur did not allow himself to stay kneeling for long, even if he was half-blinded by blood now spilling from his nasty head wound (and to add insult to potentially grievous injury, it was probably matting his glorious mohawk too). He picked himself up and dazedly propelled himself forward, slashing with his trench knives. Messy tactics, but he didn't want to give her a chance to completely break a horn off with that nasty weapon.

11 / 2O

Frossa let out a light laugh of pleasure as her strike brought Sempur to his knees. While he seemed to lack the spark of battle she longed for due to his militaryesque stature, he was undoubtedly a skilled opponent. Their match wasn't over, but it was a fairly close call so far. She supposed loosing to a high blue blood wasn't so bad, considering everything about Sempur's appearance pointed to the fact he was a warrior. But she certainly wasn't planning on going down.

Frossa jumped back in alarm as Semp suddenly dashed towards her, unprepared for his attack. Retracting her flail, she attempted to once again fend off her opponent's swipes with the hilt of her weapon. The stronger metal of Semp's blades left imprints on the flail's hilt, which didn't go unnoticed by Frossa. Gritting her teeth, she attempted to roll out of his line of attack. She couldn't afford him breaking her weapon! Frossa suddenly darted to Semp's left, effectively leaving his line of attack. Glancing down at a new, fairly deep cut in her right side, she made a mental note of how much blades sucked. Apparently, she needed a better weapon! Ignoring the stinging in her side, Frossa attempted to dart behind her opponent and give him a good whack in the side of his neck with her retracted flail.

Close as the fight was, Sempur didn't want it to stop. He felt exhilarated, honored even, to be fighting a superior. Normally, he would have been enraged by such a laugh, but hell, she was allowed. It had been a long time since he had fought another troll, truth be told, and he was glad he was proving a formidable opponent, if he might say so himself. Certainly, he was impressed by Frossa, who was proving exactly why purplebloods were at the top.

As soon as the attack broke, Sempur quickly brought an arm up to his face, trying to wipe some of the blood away with his sleeve, smearing it like warpaint. Oh uniform, you have served him well. Vision at least a little cleared, even if his head still throbbed from that last vicious attack, Sempur was quicker to react this time. Pivoting quickly on his boots, he looked more like a proper boxer now, one arm raised to block and yep, the hilt struck his stained arm but that bruise would be nothing compared to what she might receive from the hook he threw with his free fist.

God she didn't want to fight. Truth be told, Sarce was nervous as all hell.

She finally worked up the courage to putter around the Colosseum though. Working her way through the crowds and swaths of trolls. She seemed to be going unnoticed for the most part though; short and fast, no one was really giving her any attention.

But that also meant she couldn't get a very good spot, unless she worked her way to the front.

...Which was a feat she actually pulled off, in the end! Actually she had just lucked out and found an empty seat. After a few nervous glances around, she finally focused on the fight.

She saw some crazy lady swinging a flail around and oh gog it was Sir! Sir down there fighting!

She would of cheered, but didn't in the end. Her voice probably wouldn't of been loud enough to be heard anyway, so she just settled on some mental applaud, Go Sir!

She also made sure to take some mental notes, trying to piece together some sort of noetic strategy. Maybe if she paid enough attention, she'd be better off in her fight too!

...

Yeah probably not, but she was content watching. Their fight took her mind off hers, if only briefly. Hypnotizing almost, watching the two beat the everlasting s**t out of each other. Maybe she'd be that great one day!

Yeah...

Her movements were fast, but Sempur was proving to be equally as swift. He took her blow in the arm, surprising Frossa with his reflexes. Her eyes darted to his free arm as Semp began to swing, throwing her arm up in a feeble attempt to block his nasty hook. His fist collided with her thin arm, clipping it painfully as Frossa's block failed. She remained silent, opting to bite on her lip instead. Hitting her hard in the shoulder, the smaller troll was thrown backwards from the force of his hit.

Sliding back on the arena floor, Frossa took a moment to collect herself. Small chest heaving, Frossa wiped a trickle of blood from her lip with the back of her hand. She honestly hadn't expected to meet such an opponent... Flicking her wrist and extending her flail to it's full glory, she flashed Semp a quick grin before attempting to thrash him around with it a bit.

Forever weary of that flail, Sempur did not advance again when Frossa was thrown back by that last blow. For just the first round, this fight was, well, he didn't want to quite say difficult, but it was taking a bit of a toll on him. Still, that was good, maybe he'd get some sweet scars out of this, and from a superior to boot! What an honor. Sempur was actually amused by that grin; she was acting as though this was a game. And obviously, she played to win, but so did he. It certainly wasn't his place to criticize, but Frossa's last attack was too easy to dodge. Or maybe he was just getting the hang of it. Skirting around the spiked ball, Sempur moved in for a quick slash with his knives.

Frossa's lips slipped into a pout as Sempur managed to completely dodge her attack. Well, so much for that. Was it luck or had he picked up on how to dodge her advances? It didn't really much matter. They were both obviously running out of steam, and the battle wasn't going to last much longer.

Frossa yanked back on her flail as hard as possible, aiming to tangle Semp up in the incoming chain in lieu of taking his swords on directly. It only seemed to half work, and his slashes still managed to hit her nicely on the shoulder. Letting out a small grunt, Frossa spun around and ducked. Attempting to butt Sempur with the hilt of her flail into the gut as hard as possible, the small troll threw her entire (unimpressive) body weight into the attack.

It looked like it was Sempur getting sloppy now. He hadn't been paying much attention to his limits, never did, but now it was all too apparent that this fight had to end. He lifted a knife to try to get in a sneaky backstab as she turned away—and was caught off-guard by Frossa's jab, the hilt meeting its mark and winding him with a pained hiss. In one last desperate bid for supremacy, Sempur lashed out at the purpleblood with his favorite knife. Arbanz, don't fail him now!
