Penelope walked into the small cafe, and bought a mocha frappe. She Grabbed a seat at a small table in a far corner. Opening her mathbook, she began to work on the calculus homework she was missing.

Noctis walked into the Cafè, ordering nothing but some coffee. He decided he'd drink some coffee over thinking about what he was going to do to pass the day. With his backpack in one hand, dragging across the floor, and his coffee in the other, he sat down at an empty table and slouched, as if it'd make him invisible. He dropped his backpack on the floor next to him and drank his coffee silently, clearly in dull thought.

Startled by the Shop Keepers Bell, Penelope raised her eyes from her book to see another person walking in. This was only the second person she'd seen in the Cafe all day. No one ever came to this old cafe, they all went to Starbucks because it was across the road. Sipping her drink she eyed the boy, freaked out that it wasn't going to be as quiet anymore. After she realized he hadn't come to make noise, she went back to her homework, trying not to get distracted again, for her attention span is that of a fish.

Noctis, out of the corner of his peripheral vision, he knew the girl was eyeballing him. He thought of saying hi, but when he looked up from the brown coffee in front of him to the girl, he realised she was doing something. But he couldn't tell what. With more exertion, he leaned in her direction and realised she was doing what looked like Calculus. He didn't want to bother her, but he was also aching to introduce himself to someone. Though outside, he never showed it. He didn't want people to know just how sensitive he could really be.

Penelope freaked out. The guy was leaning towards her. She was never truly too good with people, they always ended up running in the opposite direction.
"Eh, can I help you? I'm Penelope."

Noctis only just now realised he was leaning over to get a peek at her paper, and a betraying blush of embarrassment painted his cheeks. He quickly sat regularly in his seat and shook his head."Sorry. My name is Noctis, but you may call me Nox." He replied in return to her giving of her name.

Penelope smiled,
"Nice to meet you Nox! You can call me Penny. I haven't seen you around too much, did you recently start school here?"
She took a sip of her Frappe, closing her mathbook to protect it from a possible spill. Penelope is extremely clumsy.

Noctis glanced over at her and nodded slowly, the briefest of smiles flashing across his features before his lips regained their stillness."Yeah, I just came from Calculus." He added as he sipped his coffee again.

Penelope laughed, thinking of Ms. Lemony.
"Ahh, Calculus. The laziest of all teachers teaches that class. I don't think she's ever gone through a full class without falling asleep. I have her too, tomorrow I think."
Penelope set her mathbook in her backpack and settled back in her chair. Excited that she finally made a friend. Two months at the academy and no one ever even approached her, until now, that is.

Noctis, wanting to get alittle closer, got up and sat at the table with her. She seemed innocent enough, but innocent didn't get you around in this world. It was usually based around if you were some hot cheerleader, probably preferably blonde. Noctis rolled his eyes at the mere thought. How come nobody ever credited the smart, less prostitute-ish girls? "You don't look like you have any friends." He exclaimed."Well... you didn't have friends. You have me now." He drank the remainder of his coffee.

Penelope smiled, "Thank you for being my friend, I guess." She sat and quietly stirred her frappe,
"So, who are you Nox? I mean, you have to have some sort of background. I was born into a poor farming family, and now I'm here. What about yourself?"
She stopped.
"I should also probably tell you, I'm part demon... Which is the other reason why I was sitting here alone earlier, ha."

Noctis grinned momentarily, acknowledging her gratitude. Then, he went on with her other statements."I was born in a wealthy family, but its a lonely world to be born into. In my case It is. As for your race issue..." He began with a small grin."I'm part Incubus. If anythng, no one wants to be around that."

Penelope finished her drink, thinking. He was part incubus, could she still read his mind? Maybe not, she'd rather not try and suffer with more headaches. She already has tons from past experiences trying to read others minds. It was time to give that a rest.
"It's okay, I'm not going to judge what you were born into. If anything I can't be hypocritical. It's not your fault, it's none of our faults, I assume. Well, on the bright side, we now both have someone to talk to. What classes do you have, Nox?

Noctis nodded in consideration to her slightly effective reassurance. Then, when he heard her question he answered with slight thought. He had recently gotten here, so his classes weren't exactly in memory just yet."Calculus, but you already know that. Then English and Chemistry." He answered finally, absently fiddling with his fingers."You?"
