can anyone help me find a protection charm/enchantment to place on my great-great grandmother's amulet. It was given to me and I plan on giving it to my lover

Well, the pentacle, along with the triquetra and the heptagram are all good protecction sigils. Also, for an enchantment, you could just sit there and summon up protective energy(you could visualize this as white light) sinking into your amulet until it is so powerful that it is radiating beyond the amulet. You could call on the Goddess or whatever deities that you believe in to make it a protection amulet. It's really easy.
