Kipekee wondered under the dark of night making her way towards the watering hole. The small lioness felt so betrayed, she finally thought not all males were mean and abusive but they were, at least all the once she met. She found herself under the shade of a tree near the shore and began to cry. How could she be so naive, he was so smooth she sould have seen it. Maybe her father was right something was wrong with her, she brought her paw behind her ear knocking out the flower the cheetah gave her. She felt so stupid for having faith that someone was good to her for once.
It seemed like no matter where she went she was doomed to be alone and get hurt, her father always said she was of no use to anyone. She stared at the flower before crushing it under her paw. It was all a lie... She knocked the crushed flower into the watering hole and watched as it feel to the bottom. Was it always going to be this way for her...

Ni-tobun had reached this sorry-looking watering hole several hours ago, feeling that it was empty enough to stay for the night. He already knew he wouldn't stay long, just long enough in the midnight hours so that he could rest his body for more travel in the coming day. However, he still thoroughly enjoyed having moments like these to himself, finding some sort of inner peace in the darkness and silence of the world around him. Although he tried to change the darkness in his heart, his physical attraction to the darker things in life, like the void of midnight, indulged him graciously and actually helped to calm him and bring him to this feeling of peace that set his body alight and sedated. He had even been so fortunate enough to not have a single thing, minus the occasional chirp of a cricket or other grassland insect, had yet to make a singular sound to break the layer of silence that marinated in the air around him. This was a rare situation, indeed, and he was not afraid to cherish it and savor it for all that it was...
But of course, although he had enjoyed a few hours of it already, his source of peace and comfort was shattered violently by the dainty sounds of claws scraping against the earth, paws unable to lift themselves fully, and the sniffling of air thinly passing through nostrils; the source of this boisterous interruption was not even so far away from where he lay. Did this always have to happen to him? He need not interact with another creature at the moment, for this was his time to himself and he had no obligations to share such a thing with any other soul. He drew his lips silently, furrowing his eyebrows in annoyance, as he watched the darkly-colored creature walk itself towards the water's edge. The silhouette was vague against the moonlight, but the actions were not; he saw as the figure began to assume the shape of a lioness against his eyes, taking something off of her head and casting it to the water. Even though he was still irritated by the interruption, her actions and noises intrigued and, dare he say it, tugged at his heart to investigate further. He relaxed his face averting his gaze towards the sky in thought, as he tried to contemplate about what he should do. He knew that if he remained silent, he would most likely remain undetected and soon he would have the area to himself once more, but if he spoke then perhaps he could find out exactly what she was doing here in the first place. Yet his mind still passed the silent judgement, unwilling and not wanting to utter a single whisper.
"What sort of nonsense are you doing over there?" His voice called out to her, stern and firm, however something inside him did not mean to offend or frighten away. Besides, he was still getting used to the whole "nice" thing and "reaching out" thing, so he couldn't really control his own tone of voice at the beginning of conversations.

Kipekee was so concerned with herself she didn't even realize that another lion was in the area. All she could think about was the replay of what happened, how she finally let a male in, allowing her guard to be let down, and just as she did she was hurt yet again. Kipekee closed her eyes remembering the moment where her father....where he father almost... The small lioness began to weep. She had met many males like her father, perhaps they were all the same, and if that was so did that mean she would always feel inferior.
Kipekee was small she was always the smallest between her and her brother, something she never really grew out of. She didn't mind it, in fact she liked it, that is until her mother left with her brother. Kipekees' father always blamed her for the loss of his mate. He would hit her and beat her into submission, telling her to never leave the den until one day he went to far and she ran away never to look back; leaving her to forever be in fear her father would find her.
When the small lioness heard the voice of a male she instantly jumped onto her feet backing up, frozen in fear. "I....i am sorry...I didn't know anyone was here....." She said with a soft tone, her ears were low and her tail hung between her legs. She was no match for the male if he chose to fight her and she didn't want to upset him; she just wanted to be alone and cry. "I...i can go..." She sniffled trying to not seem as though she hadn't been crying. She could find another place to wallow in self-pity for her foolishness.

He had heard her sniffling from what sounded like a mile away in his own, quiet little world, but when she turned to face him he was shocked by what emotions he saw upon it. Her eyes spoke of fear, and several tears glistened in the silver rays of moonlight that caught themselves to their edges; even the fur on her face was plastered flat by how many tears had fallen beforehand. He felt, dare he admit it, a pang of compassion and sadness within his chest, surprised to see how upset this lioness truly was. And for her eyes to show fear at his voice? Was he truly that cruel of a person, had such a cruel tone of voice? Yet why was he considering this now, because of the promise he made to himself? Trying to keep his brief inner conflicts to himself, he merely closed his eyes for a few moments in order to refresh himself. Besides, it was honestly true that he had made such a promise to himself and that he still wasn't used to such "kind" or "friendly" feelings, or at least feel them and consider doing something "nice" in return about them.
What should he do now? Surely he told himself that he would solely follow his heart from now on, no matter what "idiotic" thing it told him to do, for he made a promise to now live out his life from the points of view that his own persona truly was, rather than following in the footsteps of a path that was already carved out for other's desires. And at the moment, his heart was still panging over her sadness, so therefore he was thinking that it was trying to tell him to help her feel better. That was the logical deciphering of this feeling, was it not? "No, it's fine..." He began to speak back to her, his voice now softer and warmer, probably nearly sounding like a complete turn-around from his last tone, towards her in return. For an awkward moment in between, his eyes looked around as if to search for other words to say in order to continue his side of the conversation. "Come over here. Um, why don't you come over here?" Moron! He lashed his tail, solely in meaning towards himself, at how he must have either messed up or sounded like an idiot of some sort. Oh well, whatever she chose to do was on her own, just as he was doing, himself.

Kipekee wished she had never run into the lion, she just wanted to be alone. But it was her own fault, like everything was in her life. She should have used common sense to look or check for any clues. She had a sinking feeling in her stomach like she had when her father was angry. All she ever had to do was please him and she would be fine, all he wanted was the obedient daughter and she was... until that night.... Thinking about that night made her throat feel like its closing, causing more tears to fall down her face. Sometimes she would wonder if running was the right thing, if she didn't run then she would have never felt so hurt now.
Kipekee let her head hug low as to try and cover up for some shame she felt, it was almost embarrassment of her own stupidity, but she was clearly upset. She was never any good at hiding her feelings, maybe that why Crimez was able to woo her so easily. Kipekee heard the males orders, she didn't feel she need too the why he phrased it but she felt powerless. She felt as though all of her free will died inside her and she slowly and a bit helplessly walked over to the male. Each paw she got close the more sick she felt.
When she got to him, she noticed exactly how much larger he was then her, she was used to it she was always so small it was no shock. Sometimes even adolescents would be bigger then her. She lowered herself submissively, she felt like dying right now, the betrayal after finally trusting a male and her own foolishness they were gnawing in the midst of her deep conscious mind, reminding her of her own stupidity and faith in others. "Yes..." She said in a low voice.

Oh, so the timid, meek lioness actually heeded his words and approached him? He didn't actually expect such a thing, but nonetheless referred back to his previous thought of how her actions would be up to her, not him. He knew he would not harm her, but she certainty couldn't tell. She must be either innocently looking for another's comfort, as he was possibly offering, or was simply too submissive to think for her own self and actions. He was further surprised to see how miniscule [compared to him] that her body frame was with each pawstep that she approached him, even though she already looked smaller initially when she had approached the water. Sure, a large percentage of lionesses were smaller than him, so that part was no surprise; however, the part that surprised him was the fact that she was this small, this miniscule compared to his larger male side. And the broken expression that she held on her face and even partly in her body's stance only made her look more pathetic, more exposed to the evils of the world around them. Because of this, he assumed, he almost wished to stand over her with a protective leg firmly blocking others from approaching her, almost in a protective type of way. However, he pushed the idea and thought away at the same time, thinking that such an idea wasn't himself, or at least what he had known of himself, and had no real reason to dwell on such a simplistic thing.
"Erm, what happened? Why are you so upset?" What was he supposed to say to someone like her? He had rarely stumble upon someone who simply felt down in the dumps before this encounter, and as he had stated before to himself, he wasn't even prepared for pure, paragon-like interactions with other beings. He decided to go after the most obvious thing, being whatever the source was that was upsetting her so badly. It's not like he knew her or anything, so there wasn't much else to talk about.

Kipekee crawled against the ground until she was closer to the male. Why didnt he want her to come over, maybe he was just like Crimez she felt her throat tighten, she couldnt handle another male like him or her father or Mkali... She was so frightened of the opposite sex that she just wanted one to take her and beat her to death. Sometimes she whishes her father would find her just so she can be beaten to death.
In truth she though aboout his question for a moment. What didnt happened to her. What happened was everything that was wrong with her and she had a lot wrong with her. She had no family and the only family she knew of didnt want her and her father beat her and....touched her... and then all the nice males she came across just wanted to use her like her father. She felt like she really couldnt trust anyone. "Everything." she answered simply. She was pleased with that answer that summed up everything. She felt like the dirt underneath the paw of every lion she came across so she came to the conclusion that since nothing was right with her everything was wrong. She paused realizing that probably didnt make sense to him. "Im sorry, im upset at my life." She answered in a more proper way like her father taught her to be. Your a female all your good for is staying in the den and taking care of cubs. Be submissive to males they are superior. Thats all she ever knew, even when she tried to get her father out of her head she couldnt, and she feared that she would never be able to get away from him and so far she hasnt.

Although he was doing his best to remain formal, just as the distant tug from his heart was telling him to do, part of him simply wanted to cover his ears and roll his eyes at the young woman. Something deep inside of him told him to cast such an attitude aside and try and truly listen to this female, to listen to her words. Let every ring of agony that tainted each word settle themselves in each ear, even though he could see she was fighting to restrain herself from shedding such emotions and feelings. Was he already underestimating such a female? Such another lion? No, he couldn't have been. Him, of all people, knew better than to underestimate anyone else, no matter who they were. There was much more behind this seemingly innocent and pure female than he had originally seen, and perhaps, like himself, she was one with a darker past. This fully coaxed him out of whatever irritation and anger that was stirring up within him to one of a more relaxed and gentle person, a particular part of him now very interested and intrigued by this lioness.
Yet, his "good" part of him still felt that panging of compassion and genuine interest, curious about how to assist her. She was still obviously distraught, and her words were wholly of someone trapped in a realm of depression. Besides, he had already chosen a path to try and walk down, so he wasn't going to back down now. His heart had pulled him in this direction, and he knew it wasn't just for nothing. His frozen gaze thawed into a warming one, his eyelids dropping into a relaxed state. "That's alright. It's nothing to apologize for; I'm the one who called you over here." He tilted his head at her, almost as if he was trying to get a better look at her. Although he didn't know this female, he didn't even ask for her name yet, he couldn't help but to simply stare at her whole being under the moonlight, surprised by how beautiful she suddenly looked to him. "Why would a pretty thing like you be crying?" He purred, but his voice was so low it was nearly a whisper. "If you wanted to talk it out, I would love to assist you. I know a little bit about the darker sides to life, and perhaps I could be able to give you some advice." He smiled lightly at her, and although it was so small it could easily be invisible in the darkness, Ni-tobun had most certainly felt it and flicked his tail in a surprised response; he never smiled, not a real one like this. What was going on within him?

When the lion spoke Kipekee couldnt help but remember how he used to talk. Kipekee remembered how smooth and how charming he was and it was all just a ploy to get what he wanted, and stupid Kipekee gave it to him. She felt like she was in a hunters trap, she felt so helpless and so unwanted. But this male right before her was giving her the comfort that she needed. But was he just like another, or was he different. She didnt want to be used again but now that she knew how it felt she wouldn't be so naive.
She began to wonder if her father was right, if every male was the same. Would she always have to be submissive or would she be able to one day stand on her own four paws. She whipered listening to his words, was he just like the others~ Kipekee leaped towards him burring her face in his mane, she just wanted to cry she didnt want to talk. So thats what she did, she finally let her guard down, she couldn't hold it up anymore." He~~he~~he took advantage of me." She howled. She didnt care that the male was probably going to push her off just like he father did, she didnt care that he might push her off and leave, she just had to get everything off her chest. "Maybe daddy was right when he would beat me, maybe i am worthless." She couldnt stop herself, all of her troubles just kept coming out of her, she was sure the male didnt want to hear it but she just couldnt stop herself. "Im just so alone~"

Before the female said her first word or showed any sign of emotional outbreak, a darkness fell over her face and her eyes grew dark as if storm clouds floated within them. As he was speaking to her, he saw her lips quivering as she whispered words inaudible to his ears, and his fur bristled along his back when the lioness suddenly lunged herself against him and into his mane, causing him to pull away from her slightly before freezing himself in place. This lioness was obviously deeply troubled, and by the way her body language and actions showed him that she may not be able to have gotten such physical attention from others in the past. Not just anyone would act in such a way when they were distraught, either, if they didn't need it.
"He?" he asked her, unsure of where this random outburst came from. "He" could be absolutely any male, of absolutely any species. She continued onwards, howling into his mane as her tears began to make his mane sticky. "Is 'he' your father? Did he take advantage of you?" he tried to ask her, his ears flicking in confusion. He was trying to assist her, but if she spoke in nonsense like this and continued to be vague, how was he supposed to help? He was trying his best to be sympathetic, but as soon as she brought up being alone, he just couldn't relate to her as well. He got along just fine all by himself.Day Dreamer427 I'm so sorry that this is so short!!! ;____;

She tried to answer the male but she was crying to hard. She was letting out little gasps for air as she tried to calm herself down, but she would just cry more the more she thought about it... everything, all the things he father did to her... and the fact that her mother and brother left her... Why... What did she to to deserve it... She just cried in to the males mane. He throat felt tight as she continued to gasp for breath in between her sobbing.
All she could do to answer the male was nod her head. She felt stupid, this male must think she's stupid too. She just met him and she was already crying on him. Maybe everything her father said was true... "Ma...may...be...I..am...wor...th...less." She said between breathes sounding a bit muffled through him mane.
She cried for a few more moments before she was able to compose herself, she still couldn't breath and tears still swelled in her eyes, but she didn't want to burden the male anymore, he had been kind to her; but she didn't want to make him angry. She wiped her tears with her paw, "Tha... Thank you...for....listening...." She huffed in gasps as she continued to slowly cry.

Although this lioness wasn't really explaining much, she certainly was trusting in him enough to let her cuddle into his own mane and cry to him. Wouldn't she be a bit more cautious upon who she was opening up to, especially being that he was a stranger? And here she was, snuggled up to his side with her face buried into his dark mane, her tears staining it. But his lighter side was still somehow controlling over him, as well as his heart. And that simply meant that he was feeling a rather soft spot within him for this pretty lioness, and he just stayed perfectly still right where he was, comforting her as best as he could with his still presence.
"What did you say? That you were worthless? I just met you tonight, and I don't see you as worthless, miss. And I can't see why you would even waste the energy thinking about such a thing," he spoke very softly to her, placing one of his paws onto hers. He let her remove her paw from his when she began to relax herself finally to wipe her tears. "You're very welcome. I can easily understand this darkness that you're feeling; I know it too well, myself. You just have to release it from your body somehow, whether it is through words or other physical things, and I just so happened to be here when you arrived. It was nothing, really, no real need to thank me."
Just one last time, Ni-tobun reached for the lioness' paw with one of his own, his eyes searching her own. "No matter where your road may take you, I wish you the best of luck through the hard times, and I hope you can find a light to guide yourself through your darkness. Unless you let it entirely consume you, I can tell you right now that it will come to pass, and the darkness shall leave your heart one day. Just stay strong."Day Dreamer427 I greatly apologize for the wait!!!! :C Should this be the ending post~? o3o
