A pretty young man with rainbow eyes and purple hair was walking down the hallway slowly, one hand against the wall, counting the number of doors that he passed by. He knew the exact number that he had to go passed to get to where his room was located, knew the feel of his own door, the dent that was made in it by what he would guess was a foot. It was kicked open at some point and given he was the only one living in the room he could only guess what had happened to the other one inside. He didn't ask though, didn't care to know, given the dangers of this place he didn't even want to guess what had happened to the one who had almost been his room mate.

Upon getting closer to the door he heard voices, making his rainbow eyes going wide, then he tilted his head to listen to what was being said. He didn't think it was the staff... but that meant nothing, the staff here with all their experiments, were probably as frightening and dangerous as the other patients that stayed in this place. As such he didn't want to cross them, not when he couldn't see who it was or what their intentions might be. Taking a step back he counted his way down a few doors to where he knew another hallway was located, one that was short and led to one of the bathrooms. It wasn't the best of hiding spots but at least he could learn from this position who he was dealing with and how best to avoid them.

"Ahhh... don't like this." He murmured to himself, giving a shiver as he felt the air around him getting a little colder. It wasn't as though the cold bothered him, instead it was a bit of a comfort... still allowing his nerves to get to him, to make it snow around him, it would just draw attention to him that he didn't want. As such he took a deep breath, let it out slowly, and forced himself to calm down before he ended up filling his hiding spot with a blizzard.

Gods did Errol hate this place! Everywhere he turned there was some sort of idiot on the prowl, or some sort of incident about to take place! He had just narrowly avoided another confrontation with the 'medical staff' as he 'accidentally' shocked another patient who was picking on one of the smaller beings here. Not that he cared or anything, it was just that someone needed to put that stupid creature in his place.

Anyway, he was at the point where if he couldn't find a place to hide soon, he'd be in deep trouble with the attending staff. He hid around a corner, ducking into the shadows while the nurses walked by, letting out a sigh of relief. He thought, perhaps it would be best if he just waited here for a while. No one would notice, right?

After a couple of minutes, a young man came by, someone who Errol recognized, but had yet to make contact with. This one was real odd, one of the few blind people he ever met, and he, though he would deny it first thing, felt a little sorry for him. It was bad enough to be stuck in this place, but to also be blind..?

"Hey, do you need some help?" Errol asked the boy off-handedly, not wanting to seem like he cared too much.

A soft sound escaped from Eirlys as he heard the nearby voice, having been so caught up in trying to calm himself that he hadn't even heard the stranger's approach, "I-I should be alright!" He said in a rush, his voice hushed, taking a step back away from where he'd hard the voice at. It would seem that everything about him was screaming that he was a submissive sort of person, one that would rather flee or hide instead of getting caught up in a battle. That never ended well, especially if he ended up to frightened as that resulted in his powers going a little wonky on him, "I... I am just trying to get back to my room, that's all but..." He shook his head.

One could see that down the hall were a couple patients, chatting, or plotting maybe it was hard to tell if you didn't know a person, and they were between him and his room... he wanted nothing more then to get back there and hide, hope that nobody bothered him, and he could enjoy the snack that he'd pilfered from the cafeteria while it was still mostly empty before lunch had begun. Shifting in place he wondered if he should ask this stranger for help. He didn't sound much as though he wanted to help though, more as though he were offering the help because he felt forced to do so. Perhaps it was out of pity?

Ducking his head a little so that he hide more within the brightly colored hood he had on he murmured, "I know that... that I likely seem pathetic... Given all that is wrong with me I know I appear as such but... I won't force you to help me. I can get back to my room once they move." Until then he was stuck hiding in the hallway just in front of the bathroom. Not the best of hiding spots given that people would need to use the facilities but he'd yet to plan out what would happen if anyone came this way for that reason. He was taking this one step at a time it would seem.

This boy was just a bit strange... HE could tell he was a blind one, of course, but he acted as if he knew where people were, and how things were from here to his room. And of course he couldn't leave him,the pitiful thing he was... And atleast if he helped this one, no one could call him weak, since this creature was weaker than most here.

"Ah.." he said he saw the people around the corner. The little thing wanted to go somewhere that was apparently inaccessible to him, of course. It's always like that, isn't it?

"Hey.. Let me help you, okay? No charge for it. And I'm sure you're wondering "Why?" Well, it's simple. You need help." He wasn't going to give this boy a choice, but.. He wasn't trying to scare him, just really trying to help, though he bet his tone was scary.

When the other guy insisted upon helping him, claiming that there would be no charge, Eirlys gave a bit of a smile, "If you are sure." He said, stepping closer to him, able to easily pinpoint where he was by the warmth that he gave off. It was something that might not be noticed by most but given that he was an ice type he was able to pick up on such things. Lifting one hand in a slow manner, so as not to upset his savior, he came to rest it against his arm, "Thank you for the help... I would likely have ended up standing in this hall for a while were it not for your help." It might be a little early to thank him, for all he knew the guy was playing nice and leading him to his room for dastardly reasons but for the moment he seemed nice enough, not to mention he was warm and Eirlys rather liked that.

"From this corner my room is eight doors down on the right hand side, it's the one with the foot shaped dent in it making it look as though it were likely kicked in at one point." He told his companion for the walk back to his room, giving detail directions but he was used to taking in a lot of details other then those that one could see at a glance. Things that he could touch, hear, and smell were always the best indicators of what was around him and he memorized them to best find his way around. He just hoped that this kind person would be alright. He didn't know the two that were standing between them and his room, they could be very dangerous and such a thing frightened the Snorunt boy like nothing else. He wasn't one for fights, never had been, preferring things to remain peaceful... not to mention that when his emotions went awry he tended to start indoor blizzards and that never went over well with the staff.

"Of course I am. But don't you DARE tell anyone I'm nice or anything." A small blush went across the emolga's cheeks, before he held onto the boy a bit tighter, more securely. "If you show any sort of emotion here, after you've established yourself as someone strong, then they will eat you alive.." he murmured to his partner, leading him towards their desired location.

"This is it.... Will you be alright, or would you like me to stay a little while..?"

Eirlys couldn't help but to give a bit of a laugh as the young man who was playing the part of his bodyguard demanded that he didn't tell anyone he was nice or anything, "Of course not, I would never want for you to end up with a reputation for being nice." It was a joke but he knew that the reputation of being nice in a place like this would only get you used and abused and one couldn't really even go to the staff for help since they could be worse then any of the other patients which was saying something.

The teen fell quiet when he felt the warmth of the people they were getting nearer to, squeezing his unseeing eyes shut tight. He didn't like this, didn't like being so near to people he didn't know... as he could feel their eyes on them as they went by, hard stares that said that the pair were inspecting them, sizing them up, and trying to figure out if it were worth going after them. For the moment they remained where they were though and as they moved passed their warmth he gave a little sigh of relief, "Phew..." He breathed, a shiver going through him. It was a short walk from where he'd been hiding to here but he couldn't help but to feel so exhausted by it. He wanted nothing more then to go into his room, crawl onto his bed, and hide under the covers he'd been provided with so he could sleep off the journey.

As they reached his door he lifted one hand, pressing it to the front of the door, fingers brushing against the familiar dent and he nodded, "Yes, this is it." He murmured, then tilted his head slightly as he was asked if he would be alright or if he would like him to stay, "Ahhh... well I wouldn't want to impose." He would like the company but since they weren't to terribly well acquainted it wouldn't really be right for him to demand the guy stay with him, right? That and he didn't quite think the guy was the 'let's curl up together and nap' sort. A shame since he was quite warm, had a nice voice, and a nice scent, he was the sort Eirlys would like to curl up with if he could.

"...." When they passed the others, Errol himself pulled the blind one closer to him, giving them a cold glance as he lead him to his room. He honestly didn't want to leave him on his own, with how dangerous this place was, and how easy it would be to have him taken out of his room and stolen by one of the nastier ones in this institution.

He sensed the exhaustion that the other was feeling, only though the way his breathing had changed, and he shook his own head, reaching up to rest his hand on the hood the other wore in an almost comforting fashion.

"I hate answers like that." He responded softly, more to himself, than to the other. It made his ears twitch, especially if it was just a simple yes or no question! What was there to think about?! "I'll stay. To make sure those others don't bother you. And what else is there to do in this hell hole in the first place? Not much at all. Atleast you are an ear to talk to." Without much more of a word, he opened the door, gently pushing Eir inside, then entering himself, and closing it behind him, giving his surroundings a quick look around.

"Your room is much better than my own. My own room is closer to the power supply, so there is a constant buzzing. That's what happens when your body produces electricity, they use you to POWER this damned place."

Eirlys gave a little sound in his throat, worried that he had upset the one that had been so kind to him, before he found himself getting pushed into his room after the other guy said that he was going to stay, he wasn't sure what he thought of his reasoning, that there was nothing else to do, but the company would be nice. He gave a little smile as the door closed behind them, making him a whole lot happier any safer even if it were a false sense of safety that was provided by his door.

"Well it's not so much that it was so nice a room as much as it had been for two people but my roommate... well I don't know what might have happened to him. He was dragged away before I was brought to the room." He recalled that it had been pretty close, he was on his way down the hall accompanied by some staff member or another, and heard the commotion that was someone being dragged away. Given the words coming out of the other patients mouth and how loud the fighting was he doubted that it would have been someone that he wanted to really deal with that much, "Without him here I was able to consolidate the linens and pillows." He recalled not long after he'd done that someone had come and taken away the second bed, likely to move it to another room for another patient... or maybe it was another patient that took it, he'd never learned the truth of that matter.

Walking forward he seemed as though he were in his element in the room, not moving slowly, not stumbling, he knew where everything was located and as such could get around easy enough. Plopping down on the bed he shrugged out of his yellow hooded cloak, handing it up by the hood on a hook near to his bed, then smiled, "You can sit down with me if you like." He offered.

He wasn't sure this one decided to maintain his room, so he did the respectful thing, removing his shoes. It was a quaint, cozy room, compared to the others, though he suspected that it was because it was empty. Empty room tended to feel that way. That, and boy before him seemed to be of the 'sweet' type.

Errol was, needless to say, impressed Eir's ability to move about the room as if he owned the place, though.. He kinda did. Either way, it made him smile a bit, the way the other relaxed and smiled at him.

"Alright..." Errol replied simply, moving to sit down next to the other, trying to think of the next thing to say. He was never one that was terribly good at small talk.

"Ah... I have yet to meet my roommate. I am gone for the day, and he's gone for the night.. I am beginning to think, perhaps, he doesn't even exist.. Or perhaps he's a nocturnal one of sorts... "

Eirlys could feel the way that Errol's weight caused the mattress to shift and his lips turned up into a bit of a smile, "Mmm, I am glad you did stay. I don't often have people to talk with so this is quite nice." He told the other man, shifting just a bit closer, able to feel his the warmth that was coming off of him, finding it to be quite enjoyable. While he was an ice creature, and weak toward a lot of heat he couldn't help but to enjoy the warmth of another person... and unconsciously he found himself shifting a bit closer to Errol, invading the other teen's personal space without really thinking about it.

Turning his head slightly to be able to listen better to his new friend, he listened to what he was saying about his own MIA roommate, "That must be interesting, to have a roommate but to have never met that person." He mused, wondering what it might be like to be that good at dodging another person, "Well if you are ever lonely since you never see him you can feel free to visit with me any time that you want..." He trailed off for a moment, tilting his head to one side, the realized that he was inviting the guy to his room whenever he was lonely despite the fact that he didn't even quite know him yet. Oops, perhaps he was being a little to friendly? It was just due to the desire to have a friend of some sort in this place... it had been so lonely since he was dropped off here some time ago by his parents as they were no longer able to deal with his inability to control his powers or his stress levels.

"Ahh... it just occured to me, I never introduced myself. For that I hope you can forgive me." He murmured, ducking his head, cheeks coloring, embarrassment showing on his features. He hadn't even thought about it, was just so happy to have someone to talk with that his manners had slipped his mind, "I am called Eirlys, may I have your name?" He asked, scooting a little bit closer to him, ever drawn by the other guy's warmth like a moth to a flame.

"I talk to some, though most of the time it is brief, a quick casual hello. You know, associating myself in the more.. Favorable eyes of those known to be stronger than I. It seems pitful, nipping at the heals of those stronger, but it's a way to keep safe around here.. I want to keep others safe as well.." But who was there to protect? He wondered to himself. After all, most just kept to themselves.

An eyebrow raised at the closer and closer the other got to him, and he simply shook his head, continuing to speak after a brief moment of silence shared between them.

"Well.. I am rather lonely at times.. Perhaps I will take you up on that offer.. But seeing as you keep coming closer to me, perhaps I shall just stay here." He did seem rather.. Affectionate, this smaller one did. With a small smile, he placed an arm around the other's waist, pulling him closer, before wrapping both of his arms around him.

"Is this what you want?" he murmured softly into his ear, teasing him just a bit.

Eirlys gave a little nod of his head, wondering if he should try to do the same thing, find someone stronger to be friends with... wouldn't that be this guy here? He gave a thoughtful sort of sound, giving a little smile. Yes, perhaps he should try to get closer to this guy, he seemed to be nice enough and he would be the perfect sort to follow around especially since he said that he wanted to keep others safe. How to ask to be that person that wanted to be kept safe though was the question... he supposed he would have to think on that one. Perhaps if he offered him something he would be more likely to be friends?

As he was thinking on what it was that he could give him, his mind going to the food that he'd pilfered from the cafeteria, he found himself suddenly pulled to the other man's side, one of his strong arms kept around Eirlys in a manner that the Ice Type found himself liking. Burrowing closer to him, nuzzling into his side, his eyes sank close, "Yeah... this is what I wanted. You are so warm." He murmured, enjoying the warmth the other guy gave off despite his affinity with ice. His rainbow eyes sank shut and he fell silent for a long moment before murmuring, "You know... I wouldn't mind if you did stay here for as long as you like... though first you need to give me your name." He said, giving a bit of a smile. He'd asked earlier but the guy must have missed his question. It would be strange to make friends with the guy when he didn't even know his name he thought to himself, a little amused.

"How rude of me..." The Emolga smiled to himself, shaking his head, then leaning down to press his nose against Eirlys head, surprised at how warm someone who was supposed to be an ice type was. He smelled sweet as well.. Errol began to think that if someone didn't protect this delicate one, someone else would try to shatter him just like a plane of ice... "I apologize.. Your safety came before introductions.. But now that we are safe, and you are comfortably here in my arms, I'll tell you my name. It's Errol."

Another soft silence came over him, and he began to sort out exactly how he felt about the one in his arms. It was silly, he thought to himself, to be so protective over someone he had just met, as well as the invitation to stay with him. It was foolish to get attached to anything in this place.. As soon as you became used to something, it would be taken away from you... But he couldn't help it.. Not with this one.. He HAD to keep him safe..

"I'll stay as long as you want me here... Maybe I can even get them to switch room, so I can be closer to you... That way, you wouldn't have to go anywhere alone.."

Eirlys gave a bit of a smile as the other seemed to nuzzle into his hair, causing him that much more delight, he really wasn't a friendly one wasn't he? The sort that he really wanted to keep close since there were so many in this place that were more dangerous then anything. That he had been able to keep himself safe this long spoke of his luck but he had know that his luck wouldn't hold out forever. It was only so long before someone was able to capture him and do... well whatever it was that they wanted to do to him. He gave a shake of his head, not really wanting to think about that right now. No, no... he was fine, safe, and he was in the arms of a warm, kind, knightly sort of person that appeared out of no where and got him safely back to his room. Really it was the first kindness he'd been given for some time.

"Errol is it? It is so very nice to meet you, Errol. You have no idea." He murmured, his unseeing rainbow eyes glittering as he spoke to the one that he saw as his hero. When the other man said that he would stay as long as Eirlys wished it the Snorunt couldn't help but to smile, "You would switch rooms to be closer to me? That is so kind of you... I would like that, so long as it won't be any strain on you. I would hate to cause you any trouble." He would hate to make others notice Errol either, the worst thing that could happen in this place was to be noticed by others, the staff especially, and it was the last thing he would want to see happen to the kindly Errol.
