He'd started out the door of his dorm the second he saw the complaint, typing the reply as he raced down the hall, up the stairs and out the door of the reaper dorm. Ooooh he was pissed off, he thought as he ran all the way to the monster dorm. His little sister--
He stopped at her door, slamming on it. "CHUPPI! I'm comin' in!" he bellowed in typical, insensitive Roch manner. He reached for the knob.

The door was locked, oh so very locked, and it was very likely that the little Chupacabra wasn't even in there. There was no light, no sound or movement, so Roch's pounding was not answered right away, if at all.
When there finally was a response it was a light scurrying sound, like something moving quickly.

He took a deep breath, then sighed. "Chuppi? Screechie? I REALLY need a hug right now. Can you give me one?"

There was more scurrying, but no response. Was she really even in there, or had she gone somewhere else?

"Fine," he said, sitting down beside her door... He sat there for half a second, then cursed, got to his knees, and dug through one of the various pockets on his pants, pulling out a pick and tension.
The sounds of the lock being picked were tiny, but the sound of the door opening was extremely loud considering how silent it was. "Sorry, screechie, your big brother has a PHD in breaking and entering."

Poor Roch, Chuppi's room was entirely empty. The sounds he had heard were actually a purple fox running back and forth, a kushi-kushi in its mouth as though he were looking for someone. At the door opening the pygmy merely swallowed what he had and darted out the window, a small yelp echoing as he went.
From the looks of it Chuppi hadn't been in her room for a while, but if Roch looked hard enough he would have noticed that a note was written on her desk about wanting to go to the maul and buy....something.
Beneath that though was a list of hunting grounds (?)

He headed for the note and picked it up, looking at it blankly for a moment before he headed for the door, locking it again and closing it behind him. He got to his feet, looking at the list again, this time focusing on the list of hunting grounds.
Was she out hunting dinner while talking about how unloveable she was?

The truth was that Chuppi was actually in one of the larger trees near the dorm room, the heavy and old branches actually able to sustain her weight. She always made sure to stay on the lower ones anyway, just in case one of them did decide to snap beneath her, and she sipped at her Thermos as she watched the sky.
Life was tiring, and she was only fourteen.

"Chuuuuppi!!" Roch yelled as he got out of the building. "You around here?" Jack, he'd have to hit all the places on the list, wouldn't he? He stopped under a massive tree, pulling out the list and looking at it with a frown. "Misty fields, dark forest... Or should I start at the maul?" he muttered.
It wasn't that he wouldn't go to all of them, it was just picking which to go to first.

"Roch?" Chuppi thought she heard something, the little monster's voice soft yet harsh. She'd been crying a bit too much for her tastes, wailing too, which resulted in her going outside when too many of the people in the rooms around her started getting sick. When no one answered her call she shrugged it off and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, still sniffing.
She moved to take another sip from her Thermos though as she prepared to drink the branch happened to shake with the arrival of a Treefox. Startled, she dropped her Thermos down below, watching it pop open on the grass.

Roch jerked, seeing the thermos fall. "Chuppi," he said as he headed for it, looking up at the tree. "Come down here, screech, unless you want me comin' up there."

"No." Chuppi had been found but that didn't mean she wanted to be pulled down any time soon. It was rare, she actually had never thrown a tantrum in front of anyone before, so her refusal to listen to Roch was very, very strange. She liked Roch, a lot, and her unwillingness to obey his simple request was a sure sign that she wasn't too happy with her life right now. "Go away."
She shifted a bit before standing up, moving to another branch. It groaned beneath her weight but held.

He gave her a dark look, then jumped, grabbing the bottom limb and pulling himself up, following her. "Who told you you were unlovable?" he asked her as he climbed. Tree climbing? Not really his area of expertise. But he'd climbed plenty of walls. "I want to know, little sister."

"The person I had liked said I was so. I am unlovable." The branch Chuppi was sitting on groaned as she shifted on it again, this time a faint crack could be heard. Not wanting to delay and cause a chance of the branch breaking all together, the monster jumped onto the trunk and clung to it. She shimmed up a section before moving onto another branch, hissing a bit before settling in and looking down at Roch. Hopefully he wouldn't be stupid enough to try and follow, the branches where she was now resting were unsafe.
They were creaking enough under her weight as it was, and Roch didn't need the run the risk of falling. If he did dare to climb more she'd jump down and run - he'd never catch her. "Go away."

He stopped on the branch he was, sitting so his back was to the trunk. He looked pretty comfortable, one leg bent with his elbow resting on it. "Yeah?" he said quietly. "I was turned down a little while ago, too," he admitted. "She thought I didn't get it, as far as I can tell--that just because she didn't like me like I said I liked her meant that I didn't really like her like that..."
He made a face. "I am STILL confused as all hell about that one. She was probably just too nice to tell me I'm unlovable."
