Oz followed his owner outside where lots of humans and other domestic fighters were lingering around after the fight. He stretched himself, his body sore from the fight. Humans came up to him and patted and scratched his head, telling him he'd done a good job or better luck next time. He just enjoyed the attention.
His human had gotten caught up with talking to some other humans, and Oz decided to slip away for a moment. He scanned the Mokai lingering about for the female he had just fought, for he wanted to congratulate her on her win.

She stretched and rolled her left shoulder and grit her jaw when she felt a tension. Now, that wasn't pleasant. Lous had gone to speak to a man about the fight, perhaps, who knew, start setting up another match already, and Aea looked to the walls and wanted, for a brief moment, just to run for it to spend a little tie by herself outside the compound while Lous was preoccupied.
Aea walked, staying away from the mokai still itching for a fight, snapping their jaws at ehr as she passed, and she kept her eyes away from them, looking forward.
She had better things to do than mess with the likes of true mongrels.
A smile on her maw, she walked, feeling a little of a breeze on her, and she sighed, looking around, spotting a pair of familiar gold eyes.

His eyes landed on her, and met with hers. He casually sauntered over to the female, a crooked grin on his face. "Hey there. Grats on the win. A little longer and I think I would'a taken ya though," he jested, as he sat down, his tail thumping on the ground behind him. "Name's Oz," he said and held out his paw ((pad down, like a fist bump)). "No hard feelings I hope. This stuff just comes with the job." He hoped she wouldn't take things personal, but wouldn't blame her if she did.

As he approached, she made sure to keep her stance at full attention, centered, sturdy. She knew how to posture, keep hers in confidence and how to display strength, but now, now was a time to recuperate, and she supposed, meet someone knew outside the pit.
He spoke and she nodded, holding out her paw and tapped his lightly, "No worries, but I don't know, you sure I wasn't going easy on ya?" she said wink a wink, and a soft laugh, "You did well, will give a kicker of a go next time I think" she said watching him.
His pelt was so intriguing.
Was he truly half an half his parents?
Looking at his pelt, she smirked, leaned and touched her paw to his foreleg and pulled back "Looks like I left my mark in ya, huh?" she asked pointing to the paw-print like marking, joking. "You get a good hit with that arm now, you'll ahve to say that was from Aea."

He breathed a quiet sigh that he disguised as a chuckle. She seemed in good spirits, and not angry with him, so that was good.
"Ouch! Easy on me? Come on! Leave me -some- dignity," he said and covered his eyes with his paw for a second.
When she touched his leg, he looked down, noticing the spot she was talking about. "Ah, yea, it does look that way," he said, going along with the joke. "Aea, huh. That's a pretty name..." He smiled at her, and stole a glance at her pelt while she looked away. "Suits you well."

"But that would be too easy, wouldn't it, Oz?" she said jokingly, sitting back, stretching her arms in front of ehr and letting a yawn escape her lips. She was tired, more so, her body was tired. "Truly though, you did well, gave me a run for it, I'll have to watch myself next time, won't be holding back," she winked. "However, just so ya know, I don't tend to use my teeth and claws, unless I have to, don't really like messing up another's fur or leaving a scar. I like to leave it all in the pit, so you don't have to take it with you, ya know? Besides, your pelt it too distinct to have another line in it, and I don't need my paw print getting messed up".
At his words, she smiled, nodding to him, "Thanks, seemed my human knew what word to give me, though I think of it as a feeling too, has to be a part of you, not just a term or label. You have to own it, not settle."

He watched her stretch, mesmerized by the muscles moving beneath her fur. "A guy's gotta have some dignity about him, or he'd just be a push-over. And I'm no pushover. Maybe a knock-over, but not a push-over."
His basked in her praise. "Well, thanks. Could you tell I'm a rookie?" he asked. "Don't tell anyone I said that, though," he whispered, glancing around to see if anyone was looking. "This was only my first fight, though I've had training before, nothing against an opponent." He wondered to himself why he was divulging this information, especially to her.
He thought about her words and what they meant. "Ah, yeah, I'm sorry about the bite." He looked at her leg and winced. "That must hurt. Maybe you should go get that looked at," he nodded towards the wound.
"Distinct? Ha! Sometimes I feel I got dipped into a can of dalmatian paint, but thank you. I do like this little lightning bolt spot on my cheek. My human says it's my good luck mark. I don't think it worked today though."
He fidgeted with a pebble under his paw, thinking of the meaning of his name. "I'm not sure why I was named Oz, but most of the humans seem to like it when they hear it." He kicked the pebble across the ground, watching as it rolled and bounced off the shoe of some strange human.
"So, what do you say we go over to the medic and get that bite looked at?" he asked, genuinely concerned. "With what you said, I feel pretty bad now. It does look gruesome against your pretty grey coat."

Aea grinned at him, "A knock over huh? I'm good at doing that" she said sticking her tongue out. Her tail swayed behind her, curled and uncurled, as she watched him, eyes watching his movements, his gestures. He seemed laid back outside the ring. At his notion to how he used his fangs she shrugged, "Some do, I just don't tend to, causes too much havoc, thanks for the concern though but I'll be fine, I am rough and tough, as you saw-."
For his first fight, it wasn't bad.
He'd improve, so she definitely had to be sure to watch him.
"Who knows, maybe it will be lucky next time, I don't have anything like that, pretty mute, nothing outstanding, perhaps that is why I find other intriguing pelt markings fascinating" it could be the reason, but, Aea also liked seeing the variation. It was like nature, everything could be linked, but nothing was truly, exactly the same.
"If if works for you and the humans, use it and own it," she said with a definitive nod.
To her wound she shook her head, "Naw, probably shouldn't, my human likes to treat my wounds with natural remedies, but thank, don't worry, I think I'll survive."

"Huh. I guess I just haven't taken the time to notice other's pelts. I've been so busy with training that I just hadn't had a chance to meet that many new Mokai."
He huffed. Was she just being stubborn or telling the truth. Either way, he left it alone. "Okay, suit yourself." he shrugged and stood, his tail slowly wagging behind him. "I do think I'm ready for some chow though. I think I saw a bunch of dogs eating over near the entrance when I came in. Maybe I could get some food over there..." he pondered out loud. "Would you want to join?" he asked her, flashing his crooked grin again.
He looked around for his human, wondering if he was looking for him. He didn't see him, so he turned back to Aea. "I'm not sure where my human is right now, but so long as he's not coming to get me, I think we have time."

Aea stuck her tongue out and had a cheeky grin, "that stuff doesn't suit me. I like fresh fruit, and fish that my human and I catch beyond the walls. Nothing like it, the food here really can't compare, and it's all you can eat, if you can find, and catch it." It was true, Aea had a great taste for fruit and fish, but the seemingly kibble here did not suit her, she couldn't stand the texture, the smell, nor the stench tasting on her tongue.
She saw Lous standing not far off, leaning against the corner of a nearby building. She was chewing on a piece of fruit, and Aea eyed her, as if to say Lous had better not eat it all.
She did feel hungry.
"Time is of the essense, and you should surely try to come out and try to train out there with us sometime, its fun, you can try new things, see how much the fruit is better than that," she motioned towards the bowls other mokai were guarding, but some, sharing.
"If you want of course."

"Fruit does sound good. Maybe I'll try it sometime. And I train where ever my human takes me to train. Who knows, maybe we'll meet up sometime. We could even train together?" he said, a chipper trill in his voice.
"But for now, I'm going to go get some of that yucky food over there," he chuckled. "I'll catch up with you later then?" he said, a question at the end, hopeful that his new acquaintance would want to meet up again.

"Doesn't mean it is yucky for you, I just find it that way" she said with a soft laugh watching him. "It'd be nice to meet up again, who knows, maybe you'll have the one up on me next time, huh?" she said with a wink. He walked to the food and other mokai, and she stood, watching him for a moment before heading over to Lous.
Lous was holding a piece of fruit in one hand while the other was tucked in the pocket of her pants.
"New boy, huh?"
Aea looked to Lous, tilting her head.
Lous pointed over to Oz, "New boy, meeting too many, aren't ya?"
Aea just grinned and leaned against Lous's leg, waiting for her customary pat before they walked off, heading home.
Aea knew she'd meet up with Oz again, she'd have to, she left her mark on him.
