Cedar lowered herself from her horse. She looked around, and then down at a piece of paper. Her Secret Santa would be found here in Lumena. This was not only hard, but it was nerve wrecking for the young witch. She hadn't ever met her Secret Santa, and so she would be meeting someone for the first time... She tugged her cloak close to her form, hoping her body would heat itself. Her gift was neatly wrapped in a box with an intricate bow... Clearly only the touch from being homemade. Cedar tied her horse, and set off in search of this female named Perenna. She know that she was a mononoke, and a phoenix at that, and Cedar imagined seeing this lovely female that literally glowed, as her mark.

Perenna perched on a high branch of a tree, looking around and waiting. She had looked at the paper earlier in the day to where she should meet the person that was gifting her something. "I still can't believe I'm receiving a gift! It's kind of sad that this is my first real gift..."
She kind of wanted to hide and just let the day pass, but the main point of her even wanting to be part of this Secret Santa exchange was to meet people... Hopefully nice people. Running away now would just make her more of a chicken than a phoenix, and well, she didn't really want to be associated as a chicken.
Flying down to a quiet alley, she changed back into her human form and headed back to the tree she was at. When the tree was in sight, Perenna saw that it was a girl with... A horse! The girl looked so graceful when she got off. In all honestly, Perenna felt a little jealous... The only time she could be considered graceful was when she danced.
Slowly, Perenna approached the girl and the horse. She was fascinated by them both, but was still very nervous. "A-are you Cedar...?" Perenna was still a few feet away, but her desire to run away kind of kicked in, so she was kind of frozen in place.

Well the tree was right there, so its not like she had to go far but maybe she was early? She hadn't seen around that looked like the one female she was searching for. As she was about to go walk under the tree she heard a voice just around the horse. Turning, she stepped back and leaned around...
Her eyes caught sight of stunning beauty. She couldn't even blink... There was just something serene about her. "Yes..." She dragged out softly. "Perenna?" She asked softly, smiling moving her body around the horse.
Cedar couldn't help but stare in awe. And between the two of them they stood there frozen. It wasn't until the horse's rump bumped into Cedar that she realized they were both staring at each other.
"Oh! Right..." She laughed nervously. "I'm Cedar, it's very nice to meet you miss Perenna."

Perenna was kind of shaking when Cedar started talking to her. When she heard her name, she nodded her head slightly and tried to smile. It was pretty easy to tell she felt very awkward in the situation. Although she was just shaking on the outside, her mind was screaming. "What do I do now.... WHAT DO I DO? Think, think, think!"
Her hand went up slowly from her side to offer a handshake to Cedar. She wasn't so used to... touching people so soon after meeting them, but Perenna had watched the crowds for a few days to see what they did. She just wanted to fit in! She bowed her head and started to apologize. "I-I'm sorry. T-this is kind of my first time meeting someone like this..."
She kept her head bowed until she heard Cedar talk again. Perenna was very much unsure what the girl would think of her.

Cedar stopped talking. Something seemed like it might have been wrong. She looked around her, expecting to see a witch eater by the girls reaction. She was shaking! But seeing nothing, she blinked at the offered hand, and reached out to gently shake it.
"Oh." Cedar stated. Well I guess that makes sense. Cedar fiddled with her gift. "I'm sorry if I came on to strong. Some people have trouble meeting new people." She smiled understandingly. She wished the girl would look at her though. She felt like she was scary... And she was trying her best to be open and welcoming.
"I got you a gift." She raised it, to show her. She hoped that the girl would like the Alchemia. She wasn't overly familar with it herself, but it was 'all the rage'. So itwas a pretty safe bet to give as a gift, and this one was so cute, and a holiday special.

Perenna shook her head kind of violently. "O-oh no... It's not just that... I kind of don't really meet people that often. I'd rather..." She flexed her little wings a bit. "I'd rather just watch people from above. I... I know it's not a good thing to do, but I never really know how to get along with others? I guess..."
She felt like she was making a fool of herself, but of course, Perenna knew that being sheltered most of her life would cause some disabilities. When Cedar pulled out the present, Perenna blushed and smiled. She gave Cedar another quick bow. "T-thank you. It means a lot to me, really. Even if it's just a pen or something... It's kind of my first gift from outside of my family."
The smile on her face was bright and very happy. Without even thinking about it, she gave Cedar a hug. Even for herself, it felt kind of odd, but Perenna also sort of enjoyed it. "Sorry... I've never done that before either."

Cedar didn't mind the hug. She laughed and shook her head. "It's alright. I don't mind one bit." She nodded, when the other let her go, she offered her the present. Cedar didn't think Prenna was making a fool of herself. She hadn't experienced these things before. It was natural to feel awkward. Cedar just hopped she wasn't making her uncomfortable.
"I hope you like it." She smiled again. "It can be tough shopping for someone you've never met."

"It's okay," Perenna said as she gave Cedar a big smile. "I know that whatever it is, I'll love it!" She put the little box closer to her chest and snugged it a little bit. No matter what was inside, Perenna knew that it was precious. "I know that... It's not the gift that matters, but the person that gives it to you!"
Quickly, she gave Cedar another hug. "I hope we can spend more time together later." She looked down at the ground and blushed, growing increasingly shy again. "I-I... I think I would really like to get to you know you better!"
Perenna slowly reached for Cedar's hand and held it gently with hers. "I-I know I'm a little odd, but it seems like you are a good person." She held up the little gift again. "I mean, you did go through trouble to get me, a complete stranger, something... So... I'm very grateful!"

Cedar smiled even more. "I would like that as well. Maybe when you have more time, we can get some tea and get to know each other better." Cedar wasn't a very open person. She always seemed to make friends when she met others, and she wanted it that way. She wanted to be dependable, and someone people could come too.
She gave Prenna a hug and then lightly squeezed her hand. "It makes me feel good to think of others, and to give back." A small breeze came through and with it carried a voice... But it wasn't a voice for Cedar from the woodlands. It was a voice for Prenna.

Perenna smiled and nodded. "I think I'd enjoy that very much, but of course, since you went all this way to meet me, I'd like to make it more convenient for you next time!"
When Perenna felt the breeze through her wings, she knew that it was time to go. She tucked the little gift into her sleeve and smiled again. Whatever it was, she was excited just to have it, let alone waiting to open it. "It was very nice meeting you, Miss Cedar. Hopefully next time, I can give you something in return!"
She transformed back into her bird-form and perched on Cedar's shoulder. The little bird snugged her new friend's cheek and then flew off. Perenna was as happy as could be. "I... I think I'm getting better at making friends!"
