It was the holiday season, and instead of flying out to see his parents and spend a relaxing two weeks at a ski lodge, snuggling with snowbunnies and drinking warm liquor, he was rubbing his eyes, blinded by standing in the pinkest part of the biggest toy store in Destiny City and surronded by little girls grabbing dolls and pushing every single button within their reach. In the distance, a chorus of cries for children's voices demanding presents, crying out to their mothers, throwing tantrums, and crying echoed around him. Somewhere, a line a mile long was being filled on the other side of the toy store as children lined up to have their picture taken with Santa.
Darien was alone though. He had no child with him, which made picking out a present even harder. The last and only time he had seen Chibimoon, she was small little girl, being held in his arms before she flashed her colors of distrust and went off with the other senshi. He wanted to win her over, to make her holiday wishes come true, and this was the season for any proud parent to make their children happy. He just..........didn't know what little girls wanted. There had been no reports on the latest must-have item of the year. Instead, he was stuck looking at rows of dolls, unicorns, and teasets and feeling very lost. Give him a shopping list for a woman and he could pick out a present to make her swoon. A 8 year old was a completely different challenge and one he was not armed for.
He looked at a pony named Twilight Sparkle, but he just didn't see any WOW factor in it. It was just a purple horse. One of thousands around him. Did she even LIKE horses? Did she like bears more? Maybe she was unique and liked tigers? There was a whole safari of plush animals he had saw a few aisles down.
He put the pony back on the shelf, sighing and rubbing the back of beck in confusion.

Ainsley was dressed in a floral patterned dress with a thick layer under it to keep her warm when she paced back and forth outside of the shop waiting for Ridley to show up. They had agreed to go shopping together for the holidays but Ainsley had arrived early, maybe a little too early. She liked to be more than punctual but that ended up with the ten year old child becoming bored standing outside of the shop. Perhaps Ridley had left even earlier than her and was already inside? It didn't hurt to look!
Okay, maybe it did hurt to look a little. Ridley was almost completely washed out of her mind when she entered the store. Being Ainsley, the first thing she found herself drawn to was a rather large stack of bunny plushies that had yet to be put on the shelf or had incidentally been all taken off the shelf and not returned. How they got there hadn't mattered so much to the child but what did matter was stroking each and every one of them.
Her amusement had been short lived though, when a store employee came back to put the bunnies in their proper paper. Ainsley had been reluctant to leave but she eventually been persuaded and soon she was wandering down the aisles, stopping every once and awhile but only momentarily. It wasn't until she came cross the MLP ponies and spotted a Princess Celestia and Princess Luna pony on the shelf that she forgot to keep walking.
"Ooooh!" She practically squealed. MPL: Friendship is Magic was really popular amoung her classmates and it hadn't been very long before Ainsley had been introduced to the series and characters through their antics. She had immediately been drawn to the two princesses much like she was normall and because of it she didn't give the other ponies much of a glance. It wasn't until she wondered what Ridley thought of them that her eyes wandered off the princesses and to Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Apple Jack, Fluttershy and . Would Ridley like one? Maybe she should get Ridley a gift before she arrived?
Ainsley couldn't decide which of the ponies her friend would like best, and much like the man nearby, she let out a sigh.

Ridley had found herself unfortunately detained for longer than she expected because of a matter at home. But when she found herself able to leave, she had raced out to meet up with Ainsley, hopefully not making her wait too long. It wasn't often the two of them got to do much outside of class and stuff, so getting to hang out with the blonde seemed like an awesome endeavor - even though some of the things Ainsley said and did were rather odd to her.
When she finally got to the store, her scarf was finally wrapped properly and neatly around her neck and really she was now wishing to take it off with how much she had ran and how many people were in the shop itself. Ridley was surprised with how many children even, weren't the kids supposed to be surprised for Christmas?
Either way, Ainsley wasn't in the front of the store. She hadn't been outside, which was why she quickly rushed in. There were bunny dolls over there, but no familiar face. Ridley pushed her eyebrows together and hummed, wondering where her friend could be in this chaos. She picked up her feet and began to wander, turning her head right and left down a few aisles - only stopping when she found her own favorite animal to stop and admire. Ridley nearly plucked one of the cat dolls out, one that awesomely looked like *********, when she took a glance to her right and finally spotted her friend.
"Ainsley!" She beamed, calling out as she made her way over. "I found you! Sorry I'm late, Priss got into some catnip and my mom made me clean up after her and stuff and she got it all over the kitchen and it was a really big tub and stuff." She explained, "oh hey! My Little Ponies, do you like the show? It's pretty cool, huh? Pinkie Pie is my favorite," she explained as she picked up the box featuring the pink pony, "she's super random but totally awesome. Rarity it pretty cool too, but that's 'cause she has a cat!" It was, though in her opinion, hard not to like any of the characters. Even ones like Trixie.
