So, to have a chance at doing something about this closure, they'd need to participate in a special sort of examination. Levi kept an arm under Holly's under the heavy watch of the bogeymen. There wasn't any room for trickery this time, it seemed. These exams were serious business and they meant the very existence of the school. If she had a choice to stay or leave, it was definitely a stay. The tatzel ghoul wanted to continue her schooling in the place she began in.
It would be like- leaving something unfinished; it just wasn't fulfilling.
I figure if we're gonna do anythin' n' somethin' goes wrong...
...
..well... at least we'll git a kick. However small. Waiting for their turns with the meter, Levi gestured a nod toward West before turning her head back to the ghost fox ghoul with a small smile. Did it really bother her the school was closing? Yes. But she always tried to remain positive; she hoped the humor would do so for Holly as well.

This all sucked. There was a silent understanding between her and Levi on the no trickery going on right now. That would have just made things worse. All these boggiemen around and what not, not fun at all. But compared to all the stuff they'd been through how could they all be surprised that someone had noticed. Holly didn't have a place to go though, this was her home. Friends were here. Friends she didn't want to loose.
She'd made knob recently too, didn't that mean something. They just had to help the school. Had to.
The ghoul grinned at Levi. "Yeah, go out with a bang?" Well, they wanted to help as much they could. But if they failed might as well make it fun. She chuckled a bit as she watched West. It would have been impressive if his attacked work. That FEAR hurt, or it looked like it would. "Well, some of us are doing good. Might as well give it a try yeah?"

She partly had just been waiting for those wings to come out and some loud growl to sound before he punched that thing with that glowy hand of his. He walked up the the meter... rolled up his sleeves...
...okay... any second now.
Well... it wasn't what she'd expected. When they'd battled in the gym that time, Levi felt West's FEAR against her and it wasn't like this. Did the meter cause him to backfire like that? Jack dangit, boil. Despite it being her reason for showing up at this meter in particular, Levi tried her best to maintain a decent straight face. West had tried. He tried on behalf of the school...
...he tried on behalf of the school? It took a moment for her head to wrap around the idea of West helping with something. Oh. Right. The field trip. He'd helped her back then. Oay fine; so the boil was capable of helping after all.
Then it appeared to be her turn as Holly suggested she try. Oh-yeah. Let's give 'er a go... With the bogeymen watching her like a gathering of birds of prey, the tatzel released Holly and walked up to the meter the same as the demon had before a FEAR-gone-wrong occurred. Taking a deep breath, she thought of that ONE time her FEAR had successfully been emitted in the gym battle with Bul. Trying to bring out the same ferocity, the white-haired ghoul closed her eyes to get a feel for her venom and, taking in a big breath of air,...
Here it comes!
... what came out was a cough and a half. Well, more like a hacking of some sort, causing Levi to fold her arms over her middle, holding her innards, and appear like she was ready to vomit something ferocious.
Great. Just great.
When her eyes stopped watering, she made her way over to Holly again and tapped her on the shoulder, still slouching. Yer... yer go. She spoke in between hacks, tail curling around her body, holding herself together. Hopefully Holly would have more luck with the darn thing.

She'd watched the boil's attack on the FEAR meter as well and was kind of sad he failed yet again at that. He'd be feeling that the rest of the day too. It didn't seem as much as an epic fail as their own fight though. He'd been knocked out for just a bit before coming too. Never would she want to be on the wrong side of that attack though. Nope. They all wanted this school to stay it seemed. Holly hadn't gotten it out of him yet but she knew he had some terrible happenings at his last school. That was all she knew and who would want to go back to that? Even some new students were trying their skills at these exams.
Levi looked like she wanted to go first so she nodded to the other ghoul and stepped back to watch. Actually, she'd never seen her FEAR before ever. Or ever even asked about it. What could her's be like? Holly watched in anticipation for Levi to try her own powers out on the meter. The other ghoul seemed to be getting ready for something, but what?
And then Levi coughed. Or actually it sounded more like she was going to be sick instead. She looked like she was going to cough something up. "You okay?" Must have backfired then, well that sucked. She knew her friend was able to handle her self well and it was lame they only got one chance to prove themselves at this. Freaking school. Er, bogeymen. Holly just nodded to Levi as the mentions to go. Well that was what it sounded like anyway. She was confident at least that her friend wasn't going to choke or anything and would be fine for the moment while she tried her own FEAR out.
This was the first time using her FEAR. Yep, she was totally going to bomb this for sure, after watching all her friends fail at it. She was going to use it during her last battle but never got the opportunity. Darn boil with his wings, picking her up and dropping her. Totally his fault.
Back to the matter at hand. Holly sighed and then closed her eyes. She held her hands close together kind of near her waist. The ghoul concentrated really hard on making the flame. Her hands felt warmish. Grinning she opened her eyes and glanced down. Awesome! She had made the flame, now to just launch it at the meter. Holly pushed her hands forward and the flame shot right to the meter which became surrounded in pinkish flames for a moment before going out. Success! It hadn't lasted that long but still, it worked! She grinned as she made her way back to Levi. "Well, I seemed to have done something at least."

She kept a hand over her mouth now, simply to try and muffle the coughing while so many eyes watched. All she could do was nod to Holly's inquiry, decidedly not coughing up in her friend's face. It never really bothered the ghoul much when she'd took to this coughing and hacking in private of when battling ... but in front of the bogeymen, it was like she had failed. For once in a long while, the thought of utter fail crossed her mind. It hadn't been unheard of to feel this way back home ; what with the dancing and the boils being what they were. Bunch of no good... The bogeymen represented something that was supposed to be judicial, however; something unlike the critters back home who'd just bullied. They were, right? A face of right over wrong in their town of Halloween. Though, upon reflection now, the ghoul had to wonder just how true this was. It was a lie that Red had been retired, but the bogeymen did not correct this error... it was a lie that the students and staff had done something worthy of persecution as well. Yet, here they were again to condone a lie. The tatzel's perception of these figures was slowly becoming a little less fantastical and a little more suspicious.
Holly was up to bat now, and Levi was now able to keep her coughs to a minimum as she observed. Invisibly crossing her fingers, she saw Holly summon up fire from her gut. Awesome. With a developing grin, she was pleased to see at least one of them was able to show the bogeymen something spectacular. It came out a bit scratchy, but Levi tried to convey her respect to Holly after a job well done. Atta... ghoul. Ya did somethin', I'll say. The tatzel tried to settle the irritation in her venom glands now by rubbing at her jawline with both hands. It was like something sour or bitter was stuck in her throat and just wouldn't come up.

She'd known that Levi had tried her best, just like all the other students. Whether they passed or failed you can only try. Luckily it seemed like quite a few students were doing well at the tests, hopefully well enough. Holly had indeed been glad that her attack worked. Sure it didn't cause a terrible amount of damage but that was her FEAR. Too bad they didn't take the full effect of a dot into consideration. Oh well. She did find out what color her flame was though.
Holly nodded in response to Levi. "Thanks. First time really trying to use it too, glad it worked at least this one time." She watched Levi attempt to sooth her throat, what was the other ghoul's own FEAR like. Obviously it had to do with her throat but she never made a mention and asked what it was. At least it didn't epically back fire on her like a certain boil's did. Maybe they'd have to have a battle one day if, no, when the school reopened.
