It's the holidays! And King's City is feeling festive, so the city officials have decked out the central town square in generic, non denominational holiday decor (But it seems someone sneaked in a Christmas tree) and have decided to hold a ball! Everyone of all ages, and from all schools are invited. But there are a few rules. Everyone must be dressed up Everyone must have a dateAbsolutely no alcohol No tongue under the mistletoe Have fun ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This event is being run by LURAL and will only run until the 24th, so it will be fast paced! If you don't post, Lural is leaving you behind. A certain woman in pink may make an appearance if there are kids who seem to have what she's looking for... 1. This RP is open to EVERYONE 2a. If you need to meet with APHRODITE, and have met the requirements, you can awaken in this RP 2b. You can only awaken up to 2 characters in this RP, but you can have more attend 3. You must have a date. This is a good chance to meet other characters from other schools. This doesn't mean you need to stay with them all night though.4. If you abandon the RP right after awakening, IT WON'T COUNT. You must stick it out till the RP comes to a natural end, or the 24th, whichever comes first. 5. Lural will be trying to make 1-2 posts A DAY. It's ok if you can't make that many posts, but remember, this is going to hopefully be a fast RP 6. PM LURAL with the kids you are awakening, but only if you've requested them to be awakened in the awakening threadKing's city is a fairly open minded city, but not everyone is. You may or may not get strange looks when you show up with your date. ------------------------------------- Kids to awaken: Jayke (Raine) Evan (Ashes) Mai (Ashes) Jeremiah (Saint) Helena (Kor)

The center of the city was filled with lights and colors. The trees were wound in spirals of blinking, colored lights, and the paths seemed to draw you in until you were standing outside the old city theater across from town hall. Music was coming from the open doors, and once you stepped inside, you were bombarded with the lyrics of every tired old Christmas carol, and non-denominational holiday song you'd ever heard, and were introduced to 3 new ones that were just as eye-roll-worthy as the other half billion. But the decorations were pretty, and a lot of time and effort had gone into this. You might as well enjoy yourself.
There were a few open doors behind the main room. One would take you to a room to have your picture taken with Santa, even though the city maintained this was, in fact, not a Christmas party, despite having Santa, a Christmas tree, and the carols playing.
Another door lead down the hall to the restrooms, where a chaperone was standing to direct you to the appropriate facilities.
The last door opened up to a large dining area where an all you can eat buffet was set up with every kind of holiday treat you could ever want from sweets and candies to Christmas goose dinners with stuffing and sweet potatoes.
But be careful! Around the rooms are sprigs of mistletoe. Should you fall under one of these with another party goer... well... you know the rules on mistletoe. ;D

Tobias scowled at Seyonne as the woman bounced around the room in a pearl colored cocktail dress. Tiny Christmas light bulb shaped earrings swayed on her ears and a matching necklace adorned her throat. She'd come very close to being forbidden to attend the party, and was trying to be on her best behavior and not act like the two year old she was prone to. She spun on a heel and gave Tobias a smile that made her look far more mature than she truely was, but the jaded teen couldn't help the small smile that he gave her in return. Seyonne Catlin was a prat, a pushy one too, but she was special to him, because she was the one who stood by him the longest.
His eyes slid across the room, hoping the spy the few people he knew and would enjoy conversing with.
Taiga could feel a headache building behind his temples at the jumble of music that tangled around each other as every type of holiday music played. At the same time. He wanted to find a quiet corner and fill the silence there with the thrill of a flute, the single instrument that he had on him, but he doubted he'd find such a space unoccupied by anything living, and if it wasn't, well, there was bound to be some sort of cursed plant matter hanging over head. He'd never had to deal with this 'Mistletoe' tradition before, but he'd been given a quick run down of what it was by one of the chaperones in the room, after he'd nearly gotten stuck under it with a very unappealing lady almost three times his age. Taiga didn't know anyone who would want to come to this event, and his allies..well...he didn't really know them either.
For the first time since entering the room, he wondered just why he'd come here to begin with.

"Hey kid." One of the chaperones spoke to Taiga before pulling him aside. "You need a date to come inside." Taiga would find himself drawn back, just outside the dance hall. "If they're running late, you can hang with us a while till they get here." Taiga would be standing beside one of the rather large men posted at the front doors. There was no way he would be able to sneak back inside. He could stand under the mistletoe and hope that another poor single kid would come along and save him.
Apparently, when they say "You must have a date" they really mean it.
(Guys, the point isn't to RP with yourself, or as a loner. The point is to force your kids into an awkward social situation where they have to interact with each other (And to get you all to meet other RPers). If you don't have a date, you're being stopped at the door. No exceptions.)

Gabriel was excited to be going on a date with the cute girl he'd helped during the festival and he wasn't ashamed to show it. His long hair was brushed until it shined and pulled back in an elegant satin strand that he thought was rather dashing. His tux was to die for and he was ready to whisk the lovely Liza off her dainty feet. He waited orchid in hand at the entrance for his lovely date to arrive. Jeremiah was heartbroken that Indigo had asked another to go to the ball with her, but at least she'd promised him a dance. He had to put on his best front and make sure that his "date" had fun. It wasn't every day you got the opportunity to make friends and today he was going to go above and beyond! He even had brought Marlon a cheap carnation as a boutonniere as a gag gift to break the ice. Miles had been really put off by Chisato's wealth before and it had taken him a while to finally start texting and talking with her again. He really hadn't seen her very often until the dance was announced. Miles had asked and she'd eventually told him yes, so he was a nervous but excited man. As he waited for her, he became aware that there were nothing but idiots around him. Maybe he could make them look like idiots with Chisato later. Melina didn't really have a date, but she did have an acquaintance she was going to go with, so she dressed up anyways. It was always nice when you could dress up and flirt with boys and tonight was especially special. She was going to go to find Mr. Right - even if he did have a date. Melina didn't care, she was a free woman and she was on the prowl. As she waited by the entrance, she eyed the few boys she saw around her but quickly changed her mind. The one she'd seen at the school festival was far too much of a dandy for her tastes and the one with purple highlights was clearly a huge geek. The red head looked like an a**. Her eyes travelled over the other girls and she dismissed them. Hopefully the better looking boys would come along later. She really hoped she didn't dress up in her gorgeous low back coral dress for nothing. She did hope Candice would be along before too long. It sucked being late to these type of things.

As they did every year the Nobuyuki family volunteered to help set up for the big holiday bash that happened near the end of the year. Takuma knew quite well it was because his parents were a couple of busybodies that seemed to enjoy keeping kids from having any real fun. Oh how they enjoyed shaming those who would dare break the rules or looked exceptionally gaudy. After helping set up the various decorations scattered everywhere Takuma was finally free with a small amount of time before the shindig would begin.
Takuma was not certain how long he had been there but he did know one thing quite clearly. The horrible jingles and overly sentimental holiday songs would now be stuck in his head for weeks after the season had ended. Oh the torment! At least they had finished early enough that he had a proper chance to get changed into his formal party attire and make sure there was no rogue tinsel in his hair. It would have been no good if he looked shabby before the party even began. He had decided to wear a fairly nice traditional suit paired with a pinstriped red vest and black tie. Simple elegance was preferred over some tacky thing with a cheesy pattern. His shoulder length red hair was casually left down.
Once outside Takuma looked around hoping the cute boy he had run into the other day and found dateless wasn't going to stand him up. There didn't seem to be any resistance when he had asked him out so Takuma was fairly confident it was a pointless concern. The guy seemed nice enough and he was somewhat excited he had been able to find a date at all. His dad would not have let him live down failing to find a date for such an important event. Luckily for Takuma his dad didn't skip a beat when he had found out Takuma's date was not a girl. Since he could not see Siemon anywhere he waited uncomfortably neat the huge bouncers guarding the doors. Why did they have to be so tall?

Destiny walked towards the enterence with her head held high with confidence. She looks around at others milling about and sighed. Who was she kidding. It was a requirement to have a date and Destiny didn't have one. Why did she think that she could try to get in the party without a date? She knew she should have stayed home and read or play with her cats.
Destiny then looked up and saw a familiar face. She waved her hand and ran towards Melina who was near the enterence calling her name, "Melina!"
Destiny soon slowed down and look at her. "Dang girl. Nice dress. You here on a date with someone?"

Marlon was astonished that he had even been able to get out of the house at all for the party. His mother had been so giddy with excitement at his going to a social gathering of such a magnitude that she had fussed over him incessantly, making sure the crisp white bow tie for his teal suit was straight, his hair was straight and free of 'that dreadful old sock hat', and then the awkwardness of posing for picture after picture as his mother continued to gush about how wonderful a chance this was to make friends, and how much of a shame it was that he was meeting his date there instead of at their house so Marlon could introduce 'her.' If only she knew...... Herick of course was standing off to the side the entire time, muttering things that were just loud enough for anyone in the living room to hear. "Probably gonna sneak off at the middle of it......hook up with some hoodlum friends.......spray paint and eggs.....waste of good money with that getup....." He had rolled his eyes and taken it until he was getting into a car with his mother, promising to tell her all about it once it was over, Herick's ugly nose poking out behind the door frame. "It'll be your hide if I smell booze on your breath, boy!" He couldn't get out of the car fast enough, waving farewell to his mother and looking around before reaching into the huge pockets of his suit's coat to pull out his beacon, his wonderful conch shell, carefully wrapped in his black sock hat. He always felt more comfortable with his hat, and to Hell with how it looked. With a smile, he pulled it over his head and looked around for his 'date', finally spotting him and walking over. "Hope I'm not too late; my mother insisted on capturing the moment, about ten times." Not caring how many people stared as the stately car pulled up at the ball's entrance, Siemon stepped out and casually brushed the sitting wrinkles from his festive red and gold ensemble. He rather liked it; it made him look princely in spite of his glasses and his hair that still adamantly refused to calm down. He only half-heard a whisper from his mother, a reminder to eat and keep his sugar level steady. Siemon cleared his throat and walked quickly away from the car; to his knowledge, nobody except his school nurse knew there was anything amiss with him, and the last thing he wanted was some nosy person listening in and finding out anything different. There weren't many who knew an awful lot about him, and he preferred it that way. He allowed himself a small smile as he neared the entrance. He had told his folks that he was there to mingle; they didn't need to know that he was going with another boy. Luckily they never seemed interested in his activities unless they lowered his grades. Spotting his date looking a little fidgety around the bouncers, he walked casually up to Takuma and offered a slight bow. "Shall we go in?" Jayke grumbled under his breath as he waited at the entrance, scowling at anyone who stared too much at the outfit he wore. He knew he looked way out of place in his outfit; he looked more like someone on his way to a moonlit ritual than a holiday ball, but he didn't care. It had been Crysta's idea to wear such non-traditional clothing; it was a lot better than the cheesy suits the other guys wore. And Crysta was sure to be much prettier than the girls parading around in their shameless street wear that they thought made them look pretty. He wanted so badly to comment on some of them; "You cal always fit in them one more time, huh?", but he owed it to Crysta to not start the evening with a meaningless fight. His parents hadn't given him half the fuss as others were sure to; Deston had applauded his choice in dance wear, and Lillian had even made a lovely hair clip festooned with holly leaves and berries to give to his date. "And don't forget," she had said with a wink, "If things get too boring, steep the elaves in some hot water; makes for some stimulating tea!" He held it in his hands now, fiddling with the pointy leaves and looking around for Crysta, hoping feverishly that she hadn't chosen to make her entrance in her butterfly form.

There had been a fight at Crysta's house. Her sister had given her at least three hours worth of grief over her choice of dress. Crysta tried, and failed, to explain the historical significance of the outfit, but all her sister saw was Crysta doing yet one more thing to make herself stand apart from the rest of the crowd. Yet not in a good way either. Crysta's tears had finally broken the wall of resolve in her sister. Seeing Crysta so distressed over her friend being made to wait for so long, and her sister had to admit that if Crysta did not show up in the same outfit, it would put the boy (Who clearly was going to extra ordinary lengths on behalf of Crysta) in a very embarrassing situation. Finally though, Crysta had been allowed to leave. With a swirl of her matching green and gold cloak, she had dashed down the stairs and out to her bike. She would have rather worn her roller blades, but her sister didn't want the 'dress' hem tripping her up. As it was she wasn't all that pleased over her riding a bicycle either. Ah well!
Crysta made fairly good time riding to the site of the dance. She had to stop long enough to use a public restroom and fix her hair though before she made her appearance. She had attempted to tie her long black hair back into twin ponytails, and was surprised to see that not much had been mussed up by the wind. 'Huh...." She mused as she eyed herself in the mirror. Maybe she should have put some make up on?.... Naaaah. Make up was just a bit too much. With a happy smile, Crysta completed her little scamper through the street and to the Dance. Upon entering the building, her eyes widened and she started to look around with surprise. Everything was so pretty and smelled so nice! Peering through the crowd, she found Jayke, standing in wait of her (Of course). With a small squeal, Crysta raised her hand and waved it while rushing over to her waiting date. "Jayke Jayke Jayke Jayke Jayke!" She called out before attempting to tackle her friend with a hug. "Do you smell gingerbread? I think I smell gingerbread! I hope they have gingerbread! I love gingerbread!" Nicohlas was so very excited! This was his first dance! His first date! He had arrived early, with his brothers help, just to make certain that he was able to get into the dance hall easily with his wheelchair. He held in his lap a single yellow rose, a color his brother had assured him was a excellent choice for presenting to a friend. He still couldn't believe Nari had asked him to be her date! He was so very very excited! Nicohlas's fingers twitched over the arms of his wheelchair with nervous energy. "Is my tie on straight?" He asked his brother for the fifth time that evening. He reached up to fuss once more with the golden pin holding the limp pink string tie in place. He supposed pink and white had not been good colors to wear. Sampson had tried so hard to get him to wear red instead of the pink...but that just wasn't him. He liked pink! It looked much better with his lavender hair after all. Eagerly Nicohlas peered at the door and fiddled with the rose once more in his lap. He hoped Nari liked his choice of clothing...oh...he hoped he didn't embarrass her! With a glance towards the inner hall, Nicohlas gave a small sigh. It would have been so nice if he could have asked her to dance...ah well...it was just so nice she was going to be his date after all. Date! "I Have a date." He said to a rather random stranger nearby. He just had to share! It was a Christmas miracle! Nicohlas Montibello had a DATE! Naois approached the building the Dance was being held in with some reservations. His stomach had been all knotted ever since Indigo had asked him to be her date. It made complete sense for them to go of course. Naois wasn't dating anyone, and he didn't have any real close friends he could have asked. He supposed if he had come across Tobias randomly at the volunteer center he could have asked him...but he just didn't think the somber scarred boy was much of a party type. In fact...Naois probably would have just stayed home tonight and done some laundry, or dishes, or maybe vacuumed if it weren't for the fact Indigo had wanted to go.
So why was his stomach all knotted up still? Naois twisted a white lily in his hand back and forth while trying to keep the nervous jittery feeling under control. It was just a dance, he was just going with a friend. Maybe it was because Indigo had paid for his outfit? He had felt so weird letting someone else buy his cloths...though he had to admit he had enjoyed trying them on. All fifteen outfits. Weird, he had thought cloths shopping with girls were supposed to be this horrible torture for guys. Yet he'd enjoyed it immensely.
Maybe it was because he was only one half guy now? Oh, that was a horrible thought and he wanted to banish it the moment it came to his head. Naois glanced at the silver ring on his right hand and scowled faintly. Tonight was not the night for such thoughts. Tonight he was hanging out with Indigo, and perhaps she'd help him meet some new friends... Nathan Montibello currently had mixed feelings. He felt uneasy allowing Nicohlas to 'date' Nari tonight. A girl he had been attempting to charm himself. It set uneasily with him that she would be here, with his little brother, while he was escorting his...betrothed.... Helena. It felt too much of a set up for something unpleasant. Yet he had been unable to deny his brother when he saw the joy on his face at being asked to the dance.Nor had he been able to not ask Helena to be his date to this function either. it had been expected of him. A public dance? Oh by the gods. The waters of the sea would have boiled from the heat of his mothers anger if he had failed to ask Helena to this dance.
Honestly he would have preferred asking Chisato. The girl had so much more...in common with him. Theyw ould have understood the arrangement. She would not have created a problem for him concerning Nari. She would have understood, she was just a source of amusement. Helena had the proper status to be one of the eliet like them, but she had such a nature and demeanor that she seemed more...well... she didn't have the hard edge of a socialite. That was all. It was a charming quality in her, and it made being around her easy. Nathan did not need to worry about watching what he said, nor did he have to be prepared for some sly ploy to be played. Being around Helena was akin to just being around Nicohlas. It almost felt like family. Almost.
Nathan glanced at Nicohlas when he asked about his tie, but did not answer him. he had three times before adjusted the tie, and was not going to fuss on his brother in order to ease his nervousness over his first 'date'. Shaking his head, he watched the entrance for Helena to join them. The sooner she arrived, the sooner he could lead her off and away from Nicohlas and Nari. This was perhaps the first and only time he'd not be hovering over his brother...and that too worried him. Nerissa had no date. Yet here she was. Dressed up in a ridiculous outfit of her mothers mad creation. Honestly. She felt like she ought to be sitting atop a evergreen and holding a candle while people gathered below to sing off key songs that had not changed in the last hundred years. Her mother insisted she looked elegant. Nerissa insisted her feet were cold and killing her, the dress clung too tightly to her chest, and the feathers were going to attract some cat to come and pounce her. Yet for all of her ire and agitation, Nerissa had come to the party. Why? Because she'd seen the look in her mothers eyes. That 'I feel horrible that you don't have more' look. The one she saw every year when she told her mother all she wanted was some five dollar present in order to ease the guilt of not being able to buy her anything better. None of that mattered to Nerissa. She was happy enough with eggnog and a new notebook to write in. Her mother thought she was suffering somehow.
So to ease that guilty feeling, Nerissa donned the uncomfortable dress, spent hours styling her hair and applying make up. Then a bit more time with the feathered accessories before allowing her mother to drive her to the dance. She did not tell her mother the dance required a date though, because then she would have asked her about the two boys she talked about so often. Miah and Alastar were fantastic friends for sure, however Nerissa wasn't certain she wanted to complicate their friendship by asking either one of them to be her 'date' to a christmas party. So instead she sauntered on up to the milling throng of kids waiting for their dates to arrive. She figured she could just chill out here, do some people watching, and wait until her mother came back around to pick her up. Or who knew, maybe someone would ask her to escort them inside. She could go for some warm cider and some nice conversation if the opportunity presented itself. Shin Kaneko could not remember the name of his date. Lin...Lin something...Linnet? Lynne? The fact he could not recall her exact name was driving him to extreme distraction. He felt a bead of swear on his brow long his hairline. Wiping it away, he peered down at his shoes and tried to recall the conversation they had shared. All he remembered was stating his name, and requesting the honor of escorting her to the christmas ball. Her name had not mattered half as much as the fact that she had red hair. Red hair and a cute face. She was pretty, that much was clear. he just hoped she would be prettier then whatever date Jack managed to scare up. Ha! Scare up was exactly the word for it too. He was willing to bet Jack would have to pay someone to be his date! Just wait till he got a load of L...lin...Lin. whatever. Once he saw her red hair and how pretty she was, he knew that would make him think of...someone else. Shin felt himself smiling as he straightened up and started to peer through the crowd of people. It seemed like a lot of folks had come, intending to meet up with their dates here. It was inconvenient to have to wait outside, but he utterly understood the reason why. There were rules and they must be followed! Shin folded his hands behind himself and attempted to rise himself up on his toes. He had little hope of spotting his date in this crowd. He was just far too short. The top of his head came to about the shoulder of everyone else in his age group. So perhaps Lin would be able to spy him first? He had told her he would wait three feet from the entrance doors. Shin glanced to them, making certain he was no more then thirty six inches from the first hinge. It would have been easier to stand further away but he -had- told her three feet. Nothing short of a oncoming car would get him to move from the spot he stood in right now! Percival probably should have gotten himself a date. Showing up to the ball with no date was really foolish. At the same time though Percy had to admit he had no one to ask. he wasn't close with anyone, he had no dorm mate to even jestingly suggest coming with. Being in a all boys school had some drawbacks. He could have blamed his parents for this of course. Instead Percival donned his best cloths and marched himself over to the ball. He had intended to slip in at first. Just squeeze on past and make his way to the free food. Eating at the school had grown just a touch tedious and his tongue craved food cooked outside the institution walls.
Percival was just in time to see a fellow Stag member being marched right on out though. Oh...how embarrassing that had to have been! Just witnessing it happen was enough to turn Percivals thoughts away from creeping inside. Now what should he do? His green eyes darted over the crowd. Maybe he could wait a bit, see when the crowd thinned out if there were any others present that had come up with the same thought as him. Put a pair of Stags together and you don't have Stag anymore right? Right!

Kaminari had done her best to explain to Nathan why she asked his brother Nicohlas to the dance rather then him. (Or waiting for him to ask her) Nathan had a throng of girls who would gladly go to the dance with him, and Nico? Well, he wasn't likely to ask anyone. He was like a little turtle and would just shy away. Which makes it hard for anyone to ask him out too. So! Because Nathan could have his pick of the girls who fawned over him at school, she would be Nico's date, and they could all enjoy the party. And she promised to make it up to Nathan later.
Of course, she had intended to have at least one dance with Nathan. Then again, Nari would likely dance with a couple people, including Nico, if he felt up to trying to 'dance' with her. And of course she'd have to tackle Takuma and make him dance at least once. So in her mind, everything about this night was perfect.
Other then the fact she was now late. Half way to the dance, Nari realized she didn't have her phone, so her mom had to turn around for her to grab it off the charger. But now she had everything she needed! Phone, emergency money, makeup, and breath mints sat in her purse along with her camera. She didn't want to miss getting pictures of all her friends in their holiday best.
When she hopped out of the car, she bid her mom goodbye, and promised to call when it was winding down. She stood there a moment, pulling out a compact to check her hair. She had done her hair up in buns for tonight, but rather then using chopsticks to hold them in place, she had bought some long peppermint sticks, and used those instead. It was festive and cute! Plus it matched the red and white of her dress. The top was fairly simple, white with clear straps going behind her neck to hold it up, and a red poinsettia outline brocade in the center of the top, and little red details going out from there. The red skirt had a wrap that sat nicely on her hips, also with poinsettia brocade into it, only they were in white. The skirt itself was just plain red, and in the front, cut off at the knees, while it ruffled down to her ankles in the back. And this way it showed off her cute red tights and shoes!
When she knew she was set, she snapped the mirror closed and hid it away in her purse again before stepping up to the party. People were starting to arrive, so it wasn't too crowded just yet, so Nico shouldn't be too hard to find. And she was sure he would be waiting with Nathan, and probably Nathan's date.
She spotted Nathan first, and sure enough at his side was Nico looking absolutely adorable in his pink and white suite. "Ni-coh-las~" She said cheerfully as she approached them. "Waiting long?" she asked before giggling a little. She could hear the music and it just already sounded like fun! Thank goodness the boys were here to enjoy it too. They could share fond memories of this later. "Nathan, You look-" He wasn't really dressed up. "Ready to party." She laughed. "Nico, do you mind if I take lots of pictures tonight? Of us, and everyone?" She might even print a memory book of the night with all the pictures she hoped to take. Maybe she could get one printed out tomorrow if the print shop was open, and then Nico could have a really unique gift! She giggled to herself before looking up at Nathan seriously.
"I promise we'll behave." It was more like 'I know how much you worry about your brother and don't trust a room full of strange people to be considerate of him, but I'm here, don't worry because I'll look out for him.' But that might have made Nico unhappy somehow, knowing she would be 'guarding' him. Nari leaned down to give Nico's cheek a kiss. As she did, the light caught the red studs in the cartilage of her right ear, and the little ornaments she wore in her lobes jingled, indicating that they were, in fact, bells.
"Hey Nico, we should make sure to get a picture with Santa before the line is too long, ok?" He said yes! Hesaidyes! Hesaidyes! Hesaidyes!
To say Indigo was excited was an understatement. Naois was a great guy. No no, he was a FANTASTIC guy! Charming, he knew how to cook, was happy to learn to play the tabletop games she liked. They had a fair bit in common too! So when Naois had agreed to go, she took him shopping. Another plus! He didn't complain (Much) and actually seemed to enjoy it. He didn't like her paying for his stuff, but work had been really good. With the holidays, people tipped like mad, so she could afford to splurge a little on the guy she liked. She just had to try and convince him it was a Christmas gift. Her gift to him, so he could be his gift to her. Oh. Oh dear. She began giggling. Some of the people who had been waiting, either for their dates, or for other stag goers to pair off with looked at her strangely. But she didn't care. Naois. Said. Yes. That meant everything was roses to her.
She fidgeted with the the hem of the green satin skirt she wore. It was perfect. Naois was going to be decked in red and black, and she was in green and white. Her dress had a peasant-cut top that hung off her thin little shoulders. There was a high satin emerald green cinch just under her bust and then the skirt, also of an emerald satin, billowed out from there down to her knees. She also had a pair of sheer white stockings and quarter-inch heel saddles to complete the outfit.
No matter what she had tried to do with her hair, it refused to tame, so instead she put a few silver ribbons in it and called it good. Now all she had to do was wait for-
There he was!
"Naois!" Indy waved her hand above her to try and get his attention before skipping over to him and giving him a hug. She grinned up at him, ever happy as she stepped back. "Ready to go in?" she beamed at him, glad to slip away from the stag-goers before any of them tried asking her in. The attitude shift that Miles had towards her after learning that she was from a family of money was both expected and entertaining, and a little irritating. Chisato hadn't outright told him about her family and all the little goodies that came with being a Saionji because frankly she was sick of people pretending around her. Pretending to adore her, pretending to be her friend. No. There were so far only three people she could trust to be honest about their relationship. A girl at school, Indigo, who was so happy and cheerful that Chisato was sure she hadn't comprehended exactly who she was. Nathan, who was from a family not unlike her own, and they both knew their relationship was a game. They played each other for personal gain and entertainment.
And Miles. At least she had thought Miles was someone she could get along with. He was a fascinating character up to the point when he didn't call her or return her calls. But when he started texting her, he asked her to this dance. After giving him a bit of a run around as she 'thought' about her answer, she give him a chance, even though she wasn't fond of the idea of being stuck in a dance with hundreds of people that she didn't know all crammed together and trying to move around. She really didn't care for large crowds like that. But she had said yes.
Chisato arrived fashionably on time in a black and silver number. It had a high collar but no sleeves. The silver lame trim at her bust folded neatly into the jeweled belts that crisscrossed her waist and hips before fastening at her thigh with a silver star. There was a slit in the dress from the star down, showing off a lot more leg then she cared to, but tonight was a party. Her dark silver heels clicked as she approached the front, and she could feel the tinsel ribbons in her hair move as she walked.
Poor Miles. She saw him standing at the door with a good handful of losers. He must have been early.
"Miles." She greeted him, smiling faintly. There was something nice about making a guy wait for you. She didn't quite know what it was. But seeing them there when you walk up was pretty special. This wasn't awkward. Nope. Not at all. Jinju was walking up to the performance theater dressed in his best black dress shoes and slacks, a clean white, rather breezy shirt, and a red and black pin-striped vest. It was festive enough. Red was a Christmas color, and he supposed white was too. Yep. There. See? Totally festive. His hair was pulled back, as it usually was, but rather then the high, tight tail he wore when dancing or at school, it was slung low, at the nape of his neck. More hair then usual whisped about his face. He could see people being stopped from going into the dance. Apparently, when they say have a date, they mean it! Now all he had to do was hope that Evan wasn't going to stand him up.

Evan was lucky to make it out of the house on time. His mom wanted to know every detail! She wanted to primp and preen her son for his date. The blond boy hadn't even told his mom he had a date, but she knew about the dance requiring one and if her son was going, he had to have a date. While she escorted him, she peppered him with questions raising her voice over the radio. Mrs. Davison continued on by saying she was so excited. Evan couldn't help but roll his eyes. This was his dance, not her's. When they arrived, he slid out the car as fast as he could, making sure not to get his fancy wear caught in the door. "Thank you mom. I'll cal you when it's over." She gave him a happy and excited smile, told him to behave, and drove of in her bucket off a car.
His green shirt was wrinkled from the ride over and he quickly remedied that situation as he looked around for his... Date. His face twinged with heat from the thought! How embarrassing... He was acting like a little girl, gushing over her date. He smoothed down his golden locks, which promptly spring back up. There wasn't much he could do with the curly main he had... He walked toward the steps slowly, looking at all kids entering and the dateless kids waiting to be chosen by some other and taken into the dance. He noticed a boy out in the crowd out of all those people, took a shaking breath, and walked up to him and tapped Jinju on the shoulder. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting...." He smiled awkwardly, fiddling with the hem of his shirt as his stomach put on some sort of performance. Paige was running late. Dreadfully late. She hoped that she hadn't kept her date waiting. It had taken her forever to choose and outfit, then her ride bailed on her so she had to walk, and walking took a while. At least her shoes hadn't given her much of a fuss. Her hair was left down and wavy, as it naturally was, topped with a golden bow that she smiled at every time she looked in the mirror. She would have rather kept her hair braided up, but her mother almost begged her to wear it down. It wasn't much of a problem, just that the wind liked to whip it into her face from time to time. He dress was simple and fluffy: red, white, and brown, accented with a little gold. It swayed as she walked and she couldn't help but laugh at it's fluffiness. Her red heels clicked as she picked up her pace when the dance was in sight.
When she had arrived, she spotted him with a few people who didn't have dates themselves. "I'm sorry I'm late!" She ran up to Taiga, fixing her hair. "It ended up being a long walk over here." She smiled, bright and bubbly as ever. This green eyed girl was ready for a good time of dancing, eating, mingling. and more dancing! Maybe a bit more eating too. "So are you ready to head in?" She reached for Taiga's hand and urged him to join her to the entrance of the party. "Maybe I shouldn't have procrastinated...." Mai held her dress as she walked up to the line of people with no dates, because, of course she had no date. If she had asked before deciding to come over to the dance on a mere whim, she might have been lucky enough to get a friend to go. But it wasn't all bad. He dress was gorgeous and felt to nice! It shimmered in the glow of the lights and was sure to dazzle on the dance floor. Even the flower that adorned her hair looked lovely. Her earrings jingled as she twisted and wriggled in waiting. She wasn't going to just stand over here and wait for someone to pick her out of the crowd and take her in. "Hey!" She sauntered over to a group of guys. "How's about one of you take me in?" She shrugged hoping that she would get a bite.

Melina raised her brow at the girl who came over and spoke to her. She didn't recall seeing this girl over at Ember Ridge but after a while, all other girls looked the same to her. Shrugging, Melina said, "Thank you. And not particularly, but another girl in one of my classes asked me to go so I said yes." Miah smiled when Marlon walked through the door. He was excited to be hanging out with the other male, making friends. He wondered if that bromance might happen and hoped that it would. Jeremiah shook his head. "Nah, you're not late at all. I just tend to be a little bit of an early bird. Here, catch." He said, tossing the boutonniere at Marlon. "I got you a present." He hoped that Marlon wouldn't take it the wrong way. He was about to say something else when he saw Nerissa and waved at her. "Nerissa! Hey, how are you?" Jeremiah was about to say something else when he saw Indigo and his heart almost stopped. She looked so pretty in her green dress and he felt his heart jump into his throat. Miah thought about saying something to her, but he saw Indy's date and he didn't think he should intrude. But oh! How pretty she way. Sighing, he stared off moodily for a moment. Miles turned when he heard his name called and felt his jaw all but drop. Chisato was beautiful in her lovely dress! Miles again felt the giant chasm that was the difference between their social classes. But hell! She'd said yes to going with him to the dance and he was going to take that as a good sign. " Chisato, you look beautiful. I'm glad that I decided to go with a white flower for your corsage. Anyways, can you believe these losers?" He said, sneering at the other people around him. Some of whom clearly didn't have dates. "I pity them, standing around begging for dates into the dance." Eliza had decided to make an entrance and what better way of doing so than coming in a little bit late? As she swept through the doors, her eyes passed over the people around her. She saw a few people from Applereach, but she wasn't interested until she saw Destiny. She felt an odd kinship with the other girl and hurried over to speak with her. "Hey! I know you, don't we have that one class together? Anyways - do you have a date? If you don't, want to go in and cause trouble together?"

She was gorgeous. At least, she had been when JK had noticed her observing a poster of the ball. Her red hair had reminded him of a love he had had long ago of a certain red-headed girl.....until Shin had taken her away from him, right as he was gathering up the nerve to ask her to a school dance. For all he knew, Shin hadn't even liked the girl, but only stole her from him because he saw that JK wanted her. Of course, asking a redhead out to spite Shin wasn't exactly the most decent thing to do, but the girl HAD said yes, and surely she knew that she wouldn't fall for the first guy that up and asked her on the street, even if it was a particularly dashing fellow like himself. He had heard from his mother that Shin was going with a date too, but he hadn't brought her around to the house. Likely he had put on some cheesy act of valor and impressed the poor girl. Still, he can hardly imagine that Shin had such a find as he had. So he had insisted on his mother's full attention as he had composed his outfit: a billowing shirt with dark pants and slick dancing shoes, a dashing sash and the piece de resistance, a headpiece with golden feathers and a mock-eyepatch that allowed him to see out of the eye. He thought it would add a nice touch to his outfit and make it stand out. And what would Shin wear? Probably some drab old Asian getup passed down from generations and would probably tear the first time he did a twirl on the dance floor. Once his mother had dropped him off, he stood by the bouncers and gave them his most easygoing smile, trying to assure them that he wasn't about to sneak in; not without Keagan, his gorgeous red-headed date. Marlon was really glad that Jeremiah hadn't said anything about the hat. He knew it looked strange with his outfit, but he also knew it was going to be really uncomfortable being surrounded by strangers in a place where a single trip over his feet could spell absolute disaster; he wanted something familiar and comforting nearby. He blinked in surprise and reached out just in time to catch the boutonniere and look at it strangely. His date had gotten him......a flower? He chuckled suddenly; of course it had to be just something to lighten the mood! Jeremiah knew it was going to be a strange and awkward evening, so he was working to lighten things up a bit. How thoughtful of him! Smiling, he looked up at Jeremiah as he fumbled to fasten it to his jacket front. "Thanks, that was really nice of yo- ow." He winced as he felt the pin stick his skin; already he could feel his clumsiness taking effect; always when he was surrounded by people. Seeing that his date was already starting to mingle and greet, he continued to fumble with his jacket as he tagged along.

It was almost expected of her to be fashionably late, but Nan had a hard time keeping her from running out the door right after the boys. Helena was so excited and jittery. This was so thrilling for her! Not only was she going to be spending time with her fiancee, she was making her first public appearance with Nathan. Her first public appearance in the city at all actually.
Helena stepped into the hall, resplendent in a pale blue gown that matched her eyes that swept about her legs silkily. Showing off the peeking toes of her high heeled shoes. They were a bit uncomfortable but she'd manage she was sure. Her hair for once was tamed for she had it done professionally in an up swept do that curled about her delicate features. Pearls were strung through her hair and about her neck charmingly. Her pulse ticking off quickly in her throat as she looked about the room, choosing instead to wear contact lenses instead of her geeky glasses at the extravaganza, her hands clasping before her nervously before she spotted the brothers through the milling crowd. A smile bowing her pale pink stained lips as she started to make her way to the pair. Nico looking just as excited as she felt and Nathan... well he was a hard man to read but she was still thrilled to see him.

Jin smiled when he saw Evan. He shouldn't have been worried that Evan wouldn't show up. He grinned. "Green's a good color on you." He said before processing what it was Evan had said. "Oh, no. I just got here." He offered the blond his arm. "Let's go inside, shall we?"
"You don't look half bad yourself." she reached up and brushed a few stray hairs from the side of Miles's face. His comment on the dateless made her shake her head. The poor saps. "I can't believe them." She said as she eyed the rose corsage before offering her hand to him. She'd wait till he slipped it on her wrist before slipping her arm around his. "Let's go inside." She kind of wanted to dance now.
