Minerva was feeling good. Like, really good. She had a smile spread across her lips and a bounce to her step. She was whistling and humming and swinging her arms back and forth while down the hallway she skipped.
Her destination was not important. In fact, she really didn't have one. The trainee was just making her rounds about the facility, further acquainting herself with the rooms and the locations of labs and where certain higher-up offices were. Blythe also seemed to be in a remarkably cherry mood, nestled quietly in the back of her mind; expelling a warmth that surged throughout the woman. All of this was the remnants of a buyer's high, evident in every high-toed step she took and the shuffle of her shoulders as she settled and resettled them into a relaxed state. The hunter simply COULD NOT ignore the giddiness from a successful shopping extravaganza! It was impossible to do so!
But the woman had to keep some sort of control. Be it an ear listening for the buzz of her cell, or her eyes attentive to the the potential slink of any superior requesting her attention. Minerva had to constantly be on her toes, just in case! That being said, it didn't mean she couldn't be hanging some mistletoe while she was doing it!
A hand rose to rub at the back of her neck, sliding in between dirty-blonde locks of hair as they fell in waves. It would probably do her some good to go and study what they had learned about Halloweentown, maybe try to recap what the doctor had told them about the heir of death that had been their captive.. at one point. She would do so soon and gladly..
Once she had some food in her system.

Reine was humming as she walked to the cafeteria. The christmas mood had gotten to her, and the recent shopping trip had left her extremely satisfied, to say the least.
Except for the one thing.. but she'd deal with that some other time.
Stepping into the cafeteria, Reine went to the counter and got a glass of apple juice, along with an eclair. Since the night she'd met up with Jude, she'd been dying for one of these. With sparkly happy eyes, Reine stared at her plate hungrily and picked a table to sit at.

Minerva entered the cafeteria with as much joy as she had been wandering with before. However, despite the smile on he face and the springiness that was still in each step; she was, apparently, on a mission. In fact, every aspect of her life had turned into some sort of task that needed doing, whether it be find and execute a meal or make friends with potential allies for whatever real mission comes their way. She was the prepared type of girl, the one who tried her very best to stay on her toes..
Even if after exiting her pod here at the facility, she had yet to fully plot anything out to the last detail.
A hand wrapped around a bowl of mixed fruit, the other rummaging for an untouched plastic fork amongst the thousands of them set aside for meals. An impossible task that she only HOPED worked out in success. Then, spinning on her heels Minerva searched for an empty seat; squirming when an unsettling amount of deja-vu surfaced. The only thing missing was Bix and his plate of joy cookies..
The flicker of white hair on a feminine figure would just have to do in his stead. She looked familiar enough, at least Minerva could say for sure that they were both hatchlings; the new girls!.. but as for a name, the death trainee simply wasn't sure. Maybe it was Rain or Renee, or maybe it was Lesley?
"Hello!" The woman said cheerily, shouldering some of her hair toward her back. "Is this seat taken?"

"Nope," Reine mumbled, through a mouth of eclair, chewing happily, though she had the grace at least to cover her mouth. "Go ahead!"
It was clear someone was enjoying her food, at least. The eclairs were just as delicious as Jude had made them out to be- either that, or Reine was just really hungry. Each bite was like heaven- chocolate heaven, and the girl sighed in bliss as she polished it off.
"You should try one of these," she smiled, still looking slightly spacey. "They're really good."

"Thanks!" She exchanged a warm smile, shifting comfortably into the open seat while plucking the lid off of her fruit-salad-ish-thing.
She eagerly started by driving the fork deep into a piece of watermelon, ripping it out of the mix and stuffing it into her mouth; with a bit more grace than it sounds. The woman was hungry! More so now that the cafeteria's cooking started to waft her way, causing new cravings to surface. As the other spoke, Minnie tried to chew as quickly and as politely as was possible, mumbling at first "Oh?" before even being able to swallow completely. The eclair? The one that was practically down the other girls throat as soon as she sat down? It must have been good! But, Minerva couldn't hold back her skepticism as she watched the last bit of sweet disappear, lifting her brows with a deep intake of air before continuing. "You know, I've been considering swearing off sweets from this place, actually!" While she had only ever tried the cookies, the death trainee couldn't be too sure that not EVERY morsel of chocolate goodness was safe to eat without a crazy sugar high following it. The last time she had tried her luck, it ended kind of.. strangely.
"But they do look really good!" She nodded enthusiastically, before tilting her head. "Hey, i'm sorry.." Taking a grape from the lot, Minnie lifted it above her mouth and spoke before biting into it with her teeth. "I don't think we've formally met before?! My name is Minerva but feel free to call me Minnie if you'd like." A sharp nod followed, a curling smile pinching her gaze between chewing.

Reine was considering making it a ritual: the daily eclair. Except there were other baked goods she wanted to sample as well.. well, maybe, just maybe, if she had the time for it, she'd have tea every day at four.
In memory of A4, almost.
Idly, she watched the other trainee eat, and sipped at her juice.
"The eclair's really good," she repeated. "But I've heard you should stay away from the cookies, yeah.. Not like.. I've had any personal experiences with them, though." Except she had, and it had ended up with Jerry almost dying. Shuddering, Reine looked back down at her glass. That.. that was never happening again.
It was only when the other trainee introduced herself that Reine looked up again.
"I don't think so, either! But there are a surprising lot of people in this place.. I'm Reine, I think that's kinda too short for a nickname." She chuckled, looking Minerva over. "Minnie. That's cute!"
Stretching out over her chair, Reine yawned a little.
"Say, how free are you? Think you'd be up for a spar? I've got nothing on this afternoon, and I'm feeling kind of sleepy.. need something to wake me up a bit."

Minerva nearly choked on a piece of fruit as Reine mentioned the cookies. The dreaded, horrible.. oh so delicious cookies that were more trouble than they looked.. "Yeah," She cleared her throat, eyes watering as a hand rose to meet her chest. "Me either."
It was good thing that the other trainee moved along quickly, a wary smile spreading over her lips. "There are a lot of people, aren't there? I'm actually kind of surprised that so many of us were.. chosen? I guess we could say that." Blythe cooed. "And thanks! I like Reine too, it's perfect just the way it is! No nickname required." Not like Minerva, which was sort of long and a pain to say every time one wanted her attention.
"Mmm, I'm pretty free actually!" The woman continued, reclining back with a lifted brow. The wounds from her last spar with Jerry were still sore to the touch, but she wasn't about to turn down potential training opportunities. She needed to better herself, PARTICULARLY after her first taste of fighting. "I've got nothing going on either! How convenient!" Not really. There wasn't a whole lot to do aside from wait for texts/missions. Lifting from her seat, with the fruit bowl in hand to scarf the rest down before leaving the cafeteria, Minnie nodded her head and then gestured it toward the door.
"It'll be interesting to see another blade-weilder's technique in battle~"

There was a moment of silence as Reine contemplated the cookies. Minerva had seemed just slightly disgruntled when she mentioned them, so perhaps she'd had a similar experience of some sort...
"For each one of us, though, there are probably more down there in the pods.. It sorta makes sense, considering this is- as far as I'm aware- a military organisation, and I guess there's the whole safety in numbers thing? I mean- just think of how many monsters there are out there. The ratio's kinda scary." Reine shuddered at the thought, but quickly smiled again and thanked Minerva for the compliment.
"There actually isn't much here to do, huh?" Reine laughed, following Minerva along. "I don't.. have much in the way of technique, but I'll try not to disappoint!"
Before long they'd reached the training area- Reine was familiar enough with the place, and she expected Minerva would be as well. Summoning Alynthe as usual, she held the swordbreaker out in front of her. Sunlight glanced off the blade, as if winking at her.
"You ready?"

She couldn't help but snicker, shifting her hazel gaze over a shoulder. The death trainee had very little experience with sparring so it seemed to reassure her a bit that Reine was in the same boat. They were, after all, both hatchlings.. the glance quickly turned into a nod as her attention fell to the path ahead, keeping herself a few paces in front of the other as they made their way out. "Well, that makes two of us. We'll learn as we go?"
As they arrived Minerva wasted no time in veering off several feet, all the while subconsciously taking a hand to her arm and gently brushing it against the bruised portions. As she turned the woman lifted at her coat to cover both shoulders, rolling her head back momentarily. Meanwhile Blythe was eager to be released, the sight of Reine's blade a taunt that the sickles could hardly bare.
The tone was surprisingly soft for how excited the weapons were.
The trainee centered herself, righting her head to face the other trainee with a small smile. "I'm ready when you are!"

"There's so much more to learn," Reine agreed, flashing the other trainee a grin. Finally, someone who seemed to be as into it as she was, someone else who liked a good challenge! She watched as Minerva moved into position, summoning her weapon- twin sickles.
Did that technically make it two against one? Returning Minerva's smirk, Reine skipped forwards and swung the swordbreaker, feeling the blade lightly grazing her opponent's skin- it wasn't even enough to leave a mark. Clearly she had some issues with aiming, still- it was hard to judge the length of the blade, and she was afraid to move in too close. In her mind she could feel Ally's restlessness, along with a sort of inexplicable hunger, though the apophis wasn't speaking- at least, not yet.
Even if she did say anything, Reine thought, scowling, it would probably just be something sarcastic and completely unhelpful.
How well you know me, darling.
