Artistic Secret Santa

User Image

Welcome one, welcome all. This thread is for Her Silhouette's idea of a penniless Secret Santa. What is this "Artistic Secret Santa" you ask? Well gather 'round children and I'll tell you a tale.

I know many of our guild members are an artist of some kind, and believe it or not, everyone has some artistic ability! So my suggestion for this Secret Santa is that instead of buying a gift for someone, you can make one instead. Whether it be a drawing, a doodle, a sketch, a painting, a poem, a story or a cracked out fairy tale, create something that'll make your Secret Santa subject smile!

I know some people are going to go "But Sil, I can't do something like that!" And I'm going to tell you, "Yes you freaking can <3" in the most loving way possible.

Really, why can't you? :] All of us have the ability to tell a story. We do it in every day conversation. Remember that boredom doodle you did during class last week? Turns out you do have some art skill in there, because your hand can hold a pencil! It's not about how much skill you have or what you're getting out of it, it's about having fun and creating something for someone. Sounds pretty freaking fabulous, right? So you should totally join!

I'm on a horse. B)
PostPosted: Thu Dec 08, 2011 11:16 pm

How's it gonna work?

People are going to join and I'm going to assign you all a Secret Santa subject at random! When you receive your subject, you're responsible for making them a lovely piece of art to make their holiday that much brighter. Of course, it's your job to put the secret in Secret Santa by not telling anyone who your subject is~

When people decide to join, they could be really kind and post up in this thread the kinds of things they would love to see for Christmas~! Of course Secret Santa can still surprise someone, but it's always nice to have an idea of what people like in case you're a little stumped.

Dear Secret Santa. I've been a really good girl/boy/Noah/Exorcist/Akuma/thing this year, so if you would like to, please make me something with __________,_____________,______________ or ___________! Here are some references/descriptions just in case you need them!

You'll want to definitely get your present to them by December 25th, but any time before is perfectly fine as well.

Who's gonna join?

YOU~ No for real, you should post up and tell me if you're interested. :] I will be joining myself so I'll be the cool kid with their name on the top of the list.

So because you gave no reference for Kiah, I tried making some kind of Order outfit for her...it's kinda simple, I'm not particularly good in designing outfits, but I wanted to give her some sort of secretary kind of feel, but Black Order style xD Made the shirt blue because you were wearing blue before... Sorry it's kinda messed up... I forgot to erase the pencil lines after finelining over it, because I kinda immediately jumped into the colouring, lol... And I couldn't erase it anymore after because of the colours...

User Image

I loved your Masquerade dress, so I drew that, too. xD Sorry for the sketchy lines... >_>;;

And then a little Kiah/Komui moment, haha. Sorry for the lack of background, not my strong point either sweatdrop

I'll probably edit these and make em prettier in an art program later on, the scanner made the colours all faded as well, but I haven't had time for it yet. So you'll get prettier versions later, but for now, merry Chirstmas~ <3

For: Lavi

Lavi Pan

As most stories do, this story started once upon a time in a three story house in a little country called England. In that house lived three adopted little girls. The youngest was named Chaoe Darling, a small girl with a big heart who loved her dearest stuffed Kappa with all of her heart, with long dark hair and bright red eyes. She loved to wear cat ears and tails, pretending to be fanciful monsters from her favorite stories. The middle child was a girl named Liv Darling, a smart girl who loved for the world to make sense even when it hardly did. At ten years old she believed in education and logic, but she couldn’t help but let her mind fly to fancy when a fine tale was told. And finally, the oldest of the Darling girls was a boisterous brunette by the name of Silvia, thirteen years old and filled with life and passion. She loved to tell stories of pirates and princesses, adventure and romances that she swore were nothing more than adventures she had not yet lived.

Each night when she and her two sisters were meant to be asleep in their beds, they would secretly sneak on a light and Silvia would take them to another world; a world far away from their shared room in the Darling house hold. On cold winter nights they would sneak out of their covers and ignite their imaginations with Sillie’s help, brandishing their invisible wooden swords to fight the dastardly pirate captain One-Eyed Cross or hearing the lovesick tales of Cinderella the fire place girl. There were stories of Akuma and the dastardly Millennium Earl who loved festive top hats and pink umbrellas that talked. Last but not least, the mighty heroes, the Exorcists, who all lived together peacefully in a mystical castle called The Black Order with their mighty glowing star pieces called Innocence. They oohed and ahhed as Sillie brought the stories to life, living each one of them vividly in their nursery until they would finally fall into a peaceful sleep.

The girls lived a wonderful, bliss filled childhood. However, as all good things someday must, it came to an end.

Their dearest and rather lonely aunt, Hevlaska came to visit, and upon seeing Sillie and her sisters she clapped her hands together and exclaimed: “It is finally time, to think about marriage!”

“Marriage!?” Sillie and her sisters cried; marriage was for adults, which they certainly were not!

“Why yes, my dear Silvia. I don’t know how your parents haven’t seen it yet!”

The eldest girl looked terrified; had something happened to her over night? “Seen what?”

“The hidden kiss—right there in the right hand corner of your mouth, my dear,” Aunt Hevlaska smiled knowingly. “It happens to all of us, my sweet,” her eyes shined as she looked at the younger sisters. “One day, you two will also wake up with a kiss hidden in your lips.”

“Whatever is it for!?” Sillie exclaimed, her hands covering her mouth as if to hide that secret kiss, the one she hadn’t known was there to begin with.

“Why, the kiss is hidden, until you find the one it’s meant for!”

With a kiss comes marriage! She thought, horrified. How could she possibly think of things such as love and marriage when she still felt like a girl inside? Love was something of fairy tales, only found after great adventure, which she had not had yet!

The shock was apparent, but Aunt Hevlaska prattled on. “You shall have to have your own room now, as is proper for a lady… and stop telling such wildly tall tales! They simply are not befitting…”

The younger sister’s faces filled with dread—no more stories? No more time with their eldest sister? Whatever would they do?

-----------------

That night the girls fell asleep in their beds, and while they slept a green light appeared above their heads, as bright as the north star attached to a firefly. It zoomed around the room, bouncing off of light posts and knocking books from the shelves, searching and searching to no avail. It shook and made a quiet grunting sound like a tired old man, settling down on a spool of thread.

“Did you find it?” Came the voice of a boy who floated through the window holding onto the handle of a long hammer that seemed to extend endless, putting his hand to his forehead as if searching across the great seas of the nursery. Chaoe stirred ever-so-slightly in her bed and tightened her arm around her Kappa, but what they searched for hadn’t been found! However, Sillie’s eyes snapped open and she sat up in her bed, and though there was an odd red headed boy in their bedroom she didn’t shout nor scream.

“Who are you?” She asked.

The young man posed with his hands on his hips, his wild red hair poking out in every which direction above a bandana. He couldn’t have been much younger than Sillie herself, but one of his green eyes were mysteriously covered by an eye patch. “The great and mighty Exorcist Lavi Pan! I’m here to take the stories!”

“An Exorcist!?” Sillie exclaimed. “Chaoe, Liv, wake up! It’s an Exorcist!”

The two other girls groggily awoke, rubbing their eyes sleepily. However, once they spotted the odd boy their eyes opened wide. “They’re real?” Liv asked.

“As real as Akuma, and fairies,” Lavi stated matter-of-factly.

Always the logical one, Liv shook her blonde head slowly. “Fairies aren’t rea—“ before Liv could finish her incredulous sentence, Lavi had slapped a hand over her mouth.

“Never say that! Any time you say that, a fairy drops dead!” He looked at the ball of light resting on the table top and seemed to make a contemplative face. “Then again…”

The furious ball flew towards him, and what seemed like a little leg reached out and kicked the young man in the head, sending him flying into the nearest wall with a clatter. It was a miracle their parents hadn’t awakened in their beds. The boy groaned and the girls leaned over, taking a closer look at the furious creature; it was a small man, an old one at that, with black around his eyes as dark as the night sky. Upon his balding head was a tuft of white hair in the perfect shape of an S.

Chaoe squealed in horror. “That’s a fairy?”

“Yep,” the young man mumbled, rubbing his head where the small foot had made such a huge impact. “Well, that one is an old panda of a fairy. You can call him Bookman.”

Sillie shook her head, sliding out of her bed onto the cold hardwood floor in her nightgown. “Is it wearing a dress? Also, what did you mean, you’ve come to 'take the stories?'”

The young man ignored her first question and went straight to the second: “You're the great teller of stories, Sillie, aren't you? At night when you leave the window open," he gestured to the nursery window, "I listen and tell the other lost Exorcists the stories you told. But you haven’t yet finished Cinderella, so I decided to come take the story for myself!”

The eldest girl laughed, her brown curls shaking. “You can’t take the story, it’s in my head!”

“Well then, I’ll simply take your head with me!” He swung his arm dramatically through the air, as if indicating a sword beheading a person, though Sil didn’t even bat an eyelash. “You’re welcome to come along with it though, if you’d like.”

“I would rather like to keep my head attached,” the girl said, suppressing a smile. She seemed not to believe that the boy would do such a thing. “Where, exactly, shall we be going?”

“To The Order, of course. In Neverland! It’s a wonderful place, full of Akuma and Noah, pirates and Indians, and of course, mermaids,” he puffed his chest out proudly. “Every day is an adventure full of fun and laughter. We never grow up, and worry about adult things,” his voice was filled with distain. “And I, Lavi Pan, will be a Bookman, and thus I hold all the important history of Neverland to forever record the stories of it!”

“Noah!” Liv stated excitedly.

Chaoe Darling gasped. “Mermaids!” She clasped her hands together. “Oh, please take us with you, Lavi!”

“Yes, that does sound positively delightful,” Sil agreed, her heart light with the thoughts of the adventures that they would have. If they ran away to Neverland and joined The Order, she would never have to grow up—she could tell her stories and play with her sisters until the very end of time itself!

“Well come on then! Grab a hold of my hammer handle and off we’ll go.”

The girls hurried out of bed and grabbed a hold of the handle hammer, and despite the heated protests of the fairy Bookman, with a yell the hammer handle extended and extended through the winter sky. Soon the houses of their little town were nothing but a toy meant for a doll, then for an ant, until the world that they knew had disappeared completely from sight. As they whizzed through the air the stars around them tunneled, the cold of the night air disappeared and just as surely as the wind whipped through their long locks the worries of adulthood and their past life back in England rushed past to be left behind. They closed their eyes for just a moment, and when they opened them again they found their eyes met with the brilliant light of day as they fell downwards from the sky through clouds as soft as dandelion down pillows. Beneath them was the blue of an ocean only to be broken up by a beautiful, lush green island covered in trees, mountains and a bubbling volcano. Anchored near to the shore was a large ship with great sails tethered to the masts, waiting for a captain’s order.

“Welcome to Neverland!” Lavi Pan whooped as his kingdom unveiled. The girls gasped, slack jawed at the beauty of it all. Off in the distance on the far right side of the island, they could make out the shape of a dark, black castle.

However, before they could reach the ground, the pirate ship turned and trained its cannons on the newcomers. Before the girls could even appreciate the beautiful land they had been brought into, a sound like a clap of thunder exploded through the air. The cannonball hit the handle of the hammer and the vibration sent the three girls hurtling towards the ground of Neverland. Lavi Pan tried to reach out and save them, but they were just barely out of his fingertips reach—however, he knew that they would be alive when they landed, but how safe they would be was the question.

When Lavi’s feet finally touched on solid ground, his worries were far from over. The boys and girls of Neverland, the Exorcists, hurriedly gathered around their hammer wielding hero with fear in their eyes. Around him stood the lost boy Exorcists, Kanda and Marie, and the lost girls Michiyo, Miranda and Kiah.

“Lavi Pan!” Miranda called, tears streaming down her face in hysterics. “Captain Cross and the Noah pirates have captured Tiger Lenalee! Chief Komui is furious. What should we do?”

“I’m not going near that psycho!” Kiah screamed, stomping her feet into the ground. “Last time he performed his ancient Science magic I was purple for a week! I say we leave Tiger Lenalee and let Captain Cross do what he will.”

Lavi Pan frowned, concerned for his new story teller, the keeper of Cinderella and other wonderful tales and her two sisters as well. However, if he had any hope of finding them quickly he would need the help of Chief Komui and his Science Division Indians. “I brought the teller of Cinderella here with me, and she has many more stories to tell,” he informed them loudly, and all of the Exorcist children gasped with anticipation imagining the other tales the teller of Cinderella can bring. “But I lost her in the sky. We need Chief Komui’s help to find her and the two new lost girls. Also, Tiger Lenalee is our friend, so get ready men!” He looked around at the three angry faces. “And women. And Yuu. We will ally with Chief Komui and go after the dastardly Captain Cross!”

As the other children Exorcist cheered lifting their Innocence weapons into the air, the long haired boy called Yuu Kanda narrowed his eyes and he slammed the hilt of his sword against the back of Lavi’s head with a crack. “Don’t call me that, Baka Usagi!”

Once poor Lavi Pan regained consciousness, they were off to meet Chief Komui and the Science Division Indians, who were sending smoke signals into the sky some distance away.

-------

"T-the papers I sorted," Kiah wailed as they approached the camp as the giant roaring fire was being stoked with piles and piles of the worlds lost research papers. Good ideas that were lost, tucked away behind a desk or forgotten in a notebook ended up here, or perhaps even the worst of ideas. Kiah had sorted each of them into individual piles, but it appeared Chief Komui had grown weary of the papers and began burning them in an effort to call for help to find his precious sister Tiger Lenalee.

The Chief let out a long, drawn out sob. "MY TIGER LENALEEEEEE," he caterwauled. "What will I do without you!?"

"We're here to help, Chief Komui!" Called Lavi Pan, holding his hammer high into the air.

The Chief turned, fire gleaming behind his glasses and warpaint. "If I simply turn all the boys of Neverland into girls, then this problem never would have happ--"

"NO!" The Lost Exorcist children screamed simultaneously, piling on top of the Chief just as he reached for his magic ray gun-staff. Lavi Pan slammed his hammer mightily upon the device, crushing it into a thousand pieces.

"No matter!" Chief Komui cackled beneath the group. "I already shot that b*****d Captain Cross's first mate, Allen, with it! If only I had hit the Captain..." He let out a lamented wail, sniffling into his sleeve."Tiger Lenalee...."

[To be continued.]

:'D MERRY CHRISTMAS LAVI. MUHAHAHAHA. Worst parody ever. ILU. Sorry that this isn’t a completely finished product. I started this project days ago, but I quickly realized that it was going to be much… much longer than I anticipated... but I just couldn't decide to do something else. ;-; I hope you enjoyed!
