Charlie had grown quite a bit over the course of the year. He was now at a striking five foot minus his horns. With his horns he was a solid five five. The fact that he'd grown was no secret to Charlie. He was noticing things like his old boots not fitting quite as well and his older jacket not fitting QUITE right. The demons mid drift would show if he lifted his arms up.

Course the demon had to do something about this out growing of clothing. No, Charlie was not about to go buy -new- clothes. (Except for a pair of rain boots) But fabric? Heck yes. Thats why the demon was at the maul today. Specifically the fabric store. Charlie had arm fulls of cloth dangling from his arms. If one was to look at the boil face on they'd only see a tower of cloth with some legs.

He was making his way to the cloth chopping area when he tripped over a sleeve and tumbled forward. Cloth went everywhere but thankfully blanketed the demons tumble quite a bit.

Sheridan had had two goals for his trip to the maul. One was to find a book (or two) he did not yet own and had not read, the other was to buy treats for his cat so that said cat would not destroy said book. The electronic store (which happened to be next to the fabric store) he had stopped at may not have had anything to do with either goal, but that was entirely beside the point. It was an -electronic- store, and they had the new eyepads!

He was currently standing outside the store at the open front counter, looking over the specs on said eyepad and contemplating if there was any way he could convince his parents he needed one. The fact that he already had an eyepad was not keeping him from drooling over the new ones (hey, they had new features his didn't have!). Oh he wanted one, he really wanted one, the twitching of his tail leaving no doubt of that.

Hmm?

Something had caught his attention, his head turning to look for the source of the commotion he was sure he had heard. What he saw caused him to raise a brow. A piece of...cloth tumbling from the entrance of the store next door? O...kay? Did he even want to know what was going on over there?

Slowly, Charlie had gotten back up on his feet. There were a few people staring and one of the shop employees were rolling their eyes but not going over to help the demon. Not that Charlie needed any help. The boil was perfectly able to pick up his own cloth. And he did. The demon carelessly started to pick the stray pieces up and toss them in to a pile.

One last piece laid out in front of the store. Charlie made haste to go pick it up but was stopped by something. First he saw the tail and then the student.

"..." He knew this student. The dragon had been some one Charlie had ticked off with out meaning too. Slowly, the demon started to back up in to the store. He did not want to be sat on again.

What the jack was--wait, there was something familiar about the figure that had gone after the fabric. Ah, he remember now, he was taller than the last time (though still shorter than the six and a half foot tall dragon), but there was no forgetting the demon who had tried to EAT HIS TAIL.

The dragon's eyes narrowed, his tail immediately sweeping behind him and away from the demon. Was that a growl? Yes, yes it was, a very faint growl and it was more a warning than it was aggressive. So long as Charlie stayed away from his tail, all would be fine. There would be no need for further growling, sitting on, or anything else for that matter.

"Having trouble?"

And obvious question perhaps, but it sounded better than 'what in jack's name are you doing?'.

It was to late. Charlie had been spotted and ... was that a grow? Oh jack! The dragon student remembered him from that one time. Honestly though, who wouldnt be a little ticked off after some one tried to eat you. There was no time to hide so Charlie froze. He'd heard something about werebears and playing dead but he couldn't remember what that was.

It was to late, Charlie was cowarding with his arms up over his head as a shield. But then - huh? Help?

Slowly the arms lowered.

"You.. You serious bro?" Charlie was shocked. "Y-yeah. If you don't mind that would be great!~" The tone may have been a little too eager and cheerful but Charlie was just glad this dragon wasn't about to sit on him again. He stared at Sheridan's tail but did not say anything about it.

It was a good thing Sheridan's tail did not have a life or teeth of its own. If it did, it might have tried to bite Charlie on its own. But fortunately, despite that last flick that might have made one think otherwise, said tail had neither the will or means for such an act.

Instead Sheridan only sighed quietly before bending over to pick up the fallen cloth. It was then that he saw the full scale of the disaster that remained inside the store itself. Well, what remained of the disaster at least, which was now an impressive pile of cloth in the middle of the store floor.

"Is all of that yours?"

What could he possibly need all of that for?

The tail flicked, Charlie winced a bit. It was a reminder not to try to eat Sheridans tail no matter how tasty it appeared. But his thoughts were disrupted as the dragon spoke.

"OH! Umm.. Yes and no," He looked over at the pile and for the first time realized just how much he'd gotten. It was a lot.

"Actually I just uh... " He scratched his head, " I liked all those fabrics. Its so hard to choose. I just need two though." He stared at the stack. Charlie had literally probably grabbed over fifty samples at least. None of the fabric had even been cut yet.

"I guess I get excited..." He smiled a goofy smile. Yes, it was true that Charlie could sew. But it was also true that the boil knew nothing about fashion. The patterns he'd picked out were all completely eye sores. The only two things of fabric that seemed normal was a black role and a very bright blue. The others had dinosaurs and dubbits and other oddities all over.

Sheridan rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he approached the pile of clashing fabrics. What a goof, you'd think he'd at least have thought to get a basket to carry them in or something, was there even a basket big enough to carry it all?

"Well, how about you pick out the two you like best then, and we'll put the rest back."

A simple task wasn't it? It shouldn't be too hard to chose a favorite right? I mean really, what would anyone use most of these fabrics for? Dinosaurs, blinding colors, duckies, and what the jack was that? Really? How old was Charlie anyway, five?

"What are you planning to do with fabric anyway?"

If Charlie was looking for fashion advice, he was looking at the wrong dragon. Sheridan's current idea of fashion consisted of cargos and the occasional geeky t-shirt.

"But thats the problem," The demon was whining or on the verge. None the less his voice sounded whiny. "I like them all!"

Yeah it was a problem all right. Some of the store clerks did not look too happy with how many rolls the young demon had picked out. It would be their job later to put them back in their proper place. Chances were that Charlie was going to just go ahead and leave them out.

"Well , what do you like best?" He gave the dragon a brow raise. "I'm not entirely sure my self. Cause my choices are always awesome. But whats the best?" He probably was asking the wrong dragon. But that didn't matter right now because Charlie was just curious.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 08, 2011 6:11 pm

The dragon's tail twitched, a glance shot at Charlie from the corner of his eye. Was the whining really necessary, really? Come on, he'd already said he would help.

"Me?"

Sheridan blinked, which one did he like? Well, he probably would have leaned toward a nice dark blue, but there was nothing in that color here--oh, did that one have little rocket ships on it? What? It reminded him of his childhood okay!

Pushing aside said fabric with rocket ships, Sheridan rummaged through the pile before finally pulling out the bright blue fabric. A little bright for his tastes, but it was blue, he'd always been partial to blue.

"This one I guess."

Charlie inspected the blue bit of fabric that the dragon held up. It took a moment but finally, Charlie gave a nod of approval. Then he went ahead and pulled a black bit of fabric from the pile and one with ducks.

"Which one do you think it would go better with?" Charlie him self was leaning towards the ducks.

The dragon blinked, raising a brow as he gave Charlie a quizzical look. He could not be serious, right? It's hard to say whether Sheridan was more confused over the fact that one of the fabrics Charlie had shown him had ducks on it, or the fact that he was actually asking Sheridan such a question. Matching really was not his forte, why was Charlie asking him?

"I guess it depends on what you're intending to use it for."

Sheridan scratched his head, his tail twitching curiously. He still did not know the purpose of this fabric. It could have been for curtains, stuffed animals, napkins, or even clothing for all he knew.

"But the black might be nicer...or you could use them both."

As if by que - The demon tossed the hideous pattern of a piece of fabric aside and held the black one out. It was the victor because Sheridan liked it the best. This meant, of course, that Charlie liked it the best too. He gave the dragon a nod.

"Mmmmmmhmmmmmm," He held the blue with the black. "I think that we have our winners." Already ideas were brewing in his pink haired head, but that was besides the point. Charlie went ahead and slung the two rolls of fabric over his shoulder and started for the door with out paying the cashier. It wasn't stealing, it was borrowing after all. He was only gonna use some of it. They'd understand.

Clearly, with a store clerk now blocking his way and glaring down at him, that was not the case.

Sheridan raised a brow, watching Charlie for a brief moment before his gaze turned to the mess of cloth that was still sprawled across the store floor. Sigh, he was wondering if he should help clean it up, or if--

"Uh, Charlie..."

He had looked up, noticing the demon already walking toward the door. Did he intend to leave the whole mess there on the floor? Wait, had he already made it to the cashier? Sheridan didn't think he was that fast...oh jack.

Looking up, he had noticed the clerk standing in the doorway, most emphatically blocking Charlie's path. This was not going to end well was it, he really hoped he did not regret offering to help the demon...

Maybe if he helped clean up the mess he wouldn't get in trouble as well.

Charlie looked back at the dragon, flashed a smile, and then proceeded to dodge to the left as a fake out. It worked, and Charlie was out the door with a right. The clerk was right after him on his heels.

The demon let out a cry before unfolding his wings and starting up in the mauls tall ceiling. He could hear yelling and shouting and more shouting.

One of the clerks turned to Sheridan. They did not look happy.
