Mayhem's Charries<3 Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Iosara Blackblade Į αм (old enough): Fifty-Six Į αм (a figurehead): Human
Į ħανε (a history): Blackblade, though human, is a powerful psychic that is able to manipulate finely thin sheets of metal with only his mind. It was he who suggested Project Purity, and he was personally responsible for all the implantation of the girls. He is not the ruler of Chamberfire, but he is the ruler of the Stormtop Iron Angels and the overseer of Project Purity. Any girls who have forgotten their parents reluctantly - if not too drowned in hatred and pain - see him as a father figure. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): His power to control metal to a fine degree, and his absurdly high IQ allows him to predict your movements before you even begin to think about them. That's one of the reasons the Stormtop Iron Angels have yet to find an opportunity to escape. Or have already given up. Į ħανε (a heart): Iosara gave up his own grand-daughter for the cause. She was one of the first survive the implantation and the full evolution. She is one of the few that has managed to survive to this point. Į ħανε (a secret): He is cool - both in persona and to the touch. He isn't the biggest fan of human contact.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "Everything is transcendent of reality. Would you like me to show you why?" Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Sarah, of the Pristine Iron Į αм (old enough): Twenty-Two Į αм (a figurehead): Stormtop
Į ħανε (a history): Sarah is Iosara's granddaughter, and she is a very unique case study. The metal used in her evolution was revealed to be tainted with a very powerful, radioactive chemical only found in ancient nuclear waste - waste that had apparently tainted the soil of the mine where the metal was harvested millions of years before. As a result, her wings and powers have evolved on a different plane of existence than her fellow Stormtops, and the scientists of Chamberfire love to study her and put her on a pedestal - with her kicking and screaming the entire way. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): The rings around her head are made of the same tainted metal, and her mental capabilities have bewitched them to protect her from a variety of elements like water, wind, fire, earth, and light. When more of that metal was uncovered, Iosara - instead of giving the potentially lethal chemical to other girls (thus another reason why Sarah is quite literally a walking miracle) - chose to make it into a suit of armor for his granddaughter. Sarah is capable of controlling fire and bending metal like it were paper, and she uses the flames on her head to fuel her attacks. Recently, her wings have gained the ability to launch needles. She can also detach a sword from her back to use in battle. Į ħανε (a heart): Sarah was never the same after the metal was implanted. No girl was, but she changed dramatically - fiercely. She is quick to rage and hates humanity, the power her grandfather has over her the only thing holding her back from destroying them all. All she has are her sisters - the same women who are as demented and insane as she is. Į ħανε (a secret): Though originally blonde-haired and blue-eyed, Sarah has shed such beauty in favor for her iron-tough skin. Now, to Chamberfire, she is no longer known as Sarah, but rather as Cassandra, the Battle Seraph.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "That blood on your lips is nothing. You will taste the true meaning of pain." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Isis Ladine Į αм (old enough): Nineteen Į αм (a figurehead): Stormtop
Į ħανε (a history): Given a name that used to mean elegance and beauty, Isis has twisted the image of purity to mean fun, filth, and courage. Along with stupidity. Offered as an infant barely out of the mother's womb, Isis was raised in the convent of the Stormtops, and has known nothing else her entire life. This time of entrapment and suffering has come to make her reckless, mischievous, and wild. She likes to party (usually by herself, because many of the other Stormtops don't know how to), and she makes the habit of sneaking drugs into the Stormtop quarters (how she gets a hold of them, no one possibly knows). Unfortunately for her, however, because of her insane immune system, even the most powerful of hallucinogens do absolutely nothing except punish her if the scientists should find out. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): She has a right to be so reckless. Her healing capabilities are so powerful that she's regrown arms and legs from terrifying accidents she'd gotten into after acquiring her wings.
Isis' body is unique in the fact that it's insides are almost made entirely out of stem cells that know a purpose and have a purpose, but have yet to have that purpose solidify. As a result, Isis sometimes has three lungs, two stomachs, one kidney, or anything in between. Many a time, she had almost died because her liver had decided to become two separate spleens leaving her with no functioning filter for the food she ingests, and had to be put on life support until her body decided to repair itself. Another time, her heart had grown to twice its size and made her almost die from cardiac arrest when the muscle became too big for her body. She has been undergoing training to help control these curious, freak changes in her internal organs, and the accidents have gotten less and less frequent. She can now, in exchange for another ability (like the ability to process liquids) heighten others (once she held her breath for fifteen minutes with a single, massive lung that swallowed almost her entire diaphragm). One positive thing about being so freaky (even for a Stormtop) is that the cells running rampant in her body have been used to treat cancer, cure diseases, regrow limbs, and even reanimate dead nerve endings. Many residents of Chamberfire have a part of Isis grafted into some limb or another. Į ħανε (a heart): Isis has seen many, many of her fellows die, and yet, despite all her ferocity, she still finds time to read to the younger Stormtops or draw. She is one of the few that, in never experiencing anything but grief, has managed to hang on to some of her humanity. Compared to other, more violent and less mischievous Stormtops, dealing with Isis is a walk in the park. She will sometimes step in to save scientists from other Stormtops if things get too dire. Į ħανε (a secret): Her wings look too small to fly, don't they? If she was any other Stormtop, yes, they would be. But Isis is capable of stretching her skin over her wings, using them like a skeleton for larger leathery, bat-like wings that do allow her flight. And good luck tearing a hole in them. When her wings catch the sunlight just right, you can see the metal skeleton through the skin. It's a hauntingly beautiful image.
Isis' special ability is difficult to describe - even to the scientists. The easiest way to describe it is this: her internal organs always change, always move, always adapt. They are often never in the same place for very long, and if she loses one organ, she can make another. She doesn't know the meaning of physical illness or wounds, and her quick wits in combat are something to fear. She is as indestructible as one can get.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "Humans are attempting to cage in the gods. It's only a matter of time before we rain fire down upon them all. Heheh, sounds like fun, neh?" Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Lumina, the Earth Song Į αм (old enough): Endless Į αм (a figurehead): True Angel
Į ħανε (a history): Lumina, though not the suggester of saving the Stormtops, could be considered the inspiration for it. Her job in Heaven is to sing of the health of the world - the more beautiful, more crisp her voice is, the lovelier the life of the world.
However, lately, her songs have been full of sorrow and of pain, bringing many tears to the True Angels' eyes before they turned to their lord, calling for guidance.
Listening to the sorrowful tones of Lumina's voice, He has sent a few of his people down to help end the suffering Lumina sings of. Now that they've located Chamberfire, the source of the agony, Lumina and her people shall seek to eliminate the pain. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Besides her voice, she also has the power to control wind. Not just the physical wind, but the wind of the heart. She can, through her words, control the ebb and flow of emotions throughout the human heart. Lumina is not the type of angel made for battle. Į ħανε (a heart): The world has been bad before. Lumina has been alive long enough to know that. But never before has the song she sang brought tears to her own eyes. The experience has shaken her greatly, and - though everyday she sings of the world's health - she has promised both herself and the girls that she will do anything she can to save them from their pain. Į ħανε (a secret): She has yet to find a proper host for her powerful spirit. The few Nightrifters her people have touched are working on that little issue now.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "If I do nothing to stop the flood of Earth's tears, I will never forgive myself." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Julius Chardonnay Į αм (old enough): Twenty-four Į αм (a figurehead): Undercover Nightrifter
Į ħανε (a history): Julius never really liked the idea of an Iron Angel. And he especially didn't like the idea of recreating it in the bodies of poor, poor girls. But he was a Nightrifter, and if that were discovered, it could mean potential death for him and his family. So he took the guise of a scientist taking part of Project Purity. Being Blackblade's second nephew, it wasn't really that hard.
Nowadays, he's searching for ways to release the Stormtops, as well as vessels for the True Angels. One potential candidate is his best friend and partner in crime, Wren. They've known each other for many, many years, and have created all sorts of mischief together. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): To normal eyes he's just an average, exceedingly smart human. However, as a Nightrifter, he has a gun that, whenever it strikes something, is able to call lightning down from above to hit the object the gun fired at. He uses his psychic abilities to guide both the bullet and, indirectly, the lightning. He is also capable of seeing all possible outcomes of different situations and, if he concentrates hard enough on all possibilities - can see the correct and best choice. It isn't a power he enjoys using often, as it gives him quite the headache. Į ħανε (a heart): Julius has seen many, many girls succumb and die. He was one of the scientists simply in charge of making sure they stayed alive and strong, and he has failed many, many times. Only the thoughts of saving the ones that have pulled through keep him going. Į ħανε (a secret): He is a bright light of joy to the Iron Angels. His cheerful demeanor, witty retorts, and twinkling eyes always keep them entertained. He is one of the few humans that some of them still like. Maybe some of them can sense that he's not really a human.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "You are the hope that will dry all tears." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Basandra, the Battle Seraph Į αм (old enough): Endless Į αм (a figurehead): True AngelĮ ħανε (a history): Basandra has always been one of those rowdy, angry angels that nobody particularly likes but everybody respects. In the ancient war between Lucifer and God, she was the figurehead the army turned towards - the Lord's sword that was riddled with unparalleled holy power. She alone saved thousands of angels when the great demon Asmodeous stepped forth onto the grounds of Heaven, and her will is the fuel for the cause. If her true power was to appear on the human plane, her very being alone would wipe civilizations off the map. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Basandra has many Avatars at her disposal (the Avatar of Slaughter, the Avatar of Vengeance, the Avatar of Fury, etc) that she can call to aid both her and her allies in battle. She carries a variety of weapons, like a sword, cat-o-nine-tails, and the power to sear armies with her holy fire. She is a destructive force, commanded by the Lord. Į ħανε (a heart): All she knows is violence and war. She has been informed of the potential threat the Stormtops might become, and has already mentally dedicated herself to incinerating all those that do not comply. She is not an angel made for peace. Į ħανε (a secret): Basandra is royally pissed off that the humans have been calling another human (edited human, but whatever) the Battle Seraph. Basandra is the true Battle Seraph, and as far as she's concerned, there can only be one. She currently has a vessel - one that she took by force, without the human's consent. The human's name is Kavita, and she is a weapons expert in Chamberfire with access to many, many demolitions. That can only spell disaster for the city of Chamberfire.Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε?"I am the epitome of flame and ferocity. No mere human can match my rage. I will make certain to make that fact quite clear." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Į αм (your God): LovetoCauseMayhem Į αм (a person): Kenzie Roreck Į αм (old enough): 23 Į αм (a figurehead): Human
Į ħανε (a history): Kenzie would've been suggested for Project Purity, and she probably would've died a horrible, excruciating death. Unfortunately, her health was already failing, and at eight she was given a two-year life expectancy because of a terrible blood cancer she had been diagnosed with.
Years later, however, she's still alive, and she's happy as can be (at least in Chamberfire), and surviving, despite the smog and smoke of the city. She lives mostly inside, in ventilated rooms and cleansed air. The grass she lounges on is synthetic, the sunlight she wanders beneath artificial. She hates Chamberfire, and the only comfort she has is the Stormtops, and even then, they're only from a distance. Wren and Julius try to coax her into visiting, but she's too afraid. The Stormtops are the Iron Angel incarnate. She, a lowly, sickly human, doesn't deserve to be in their presence. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): She has no powers. She is indeed only human. But she knows that White does exist. She sees white clouds, white light, white warmth in her dreams, and she wishes she could share those images with the rest of the city. Maybe then, some humanity would return. Į ħανε (a heart): Through her bulletproof safety glass, Kenzie has watched girls die, girls kill each other and kill other humans. She has watched wings grow in waterfalls of blood, and she has seen beds fly across rooms and metal bars bend beneath sheer will. All of these experiences have changed her, and while scientists beneath Iosara try to figure out why Kenzie is still managing to stay alive despite all her sickness, she can only sit and watch. Į ħανε (a secret): Julius has come to Kenzie, and has informed her about the True Angels and their need for hosts in order to free the Stormtops. He has told her that if she allows an Angel into her body, she will become healthy and whole again. She has agreed, and though no True Angel has chosen her yet, Kenzie can only sit and wait for her fate.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "Every breath I take is a blessing, and yet every breath they take is a curse. This must be remedied." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş.

SilentShadowDreamer Requested emoticon: yum_puddi Į αм (your God): SilentShadowDreamer Į αм (a person): Blair Vellay Į αм (old enough): Seventeen Į αм (a figurehead): Stormtop
Į ħανε (a history): Blair was offered up by her parents almost as soon as it was announced that the search was being expanded beyond blonde, blue-eyed girls. They were deeply religious and truly believed that they were offering their child a better life by giving her to the experiment. And if she died, well, she would have died for a greater cause. Her sheer stubbornness kept her going for the first few years, while she watched so many other girls succumb; in losing one friend after another, she quickly learned that it was better not to have any friends at all.
Naturally blessed with an extremely good memory, Blair has not entirely forgotten her old life – her very old life. She still vaguely remembers her father’s face and her mother’s voice. But to her, they no longer matter. They are only human, and she…is more.
While she addresses Blackblade as “Father,” as some of the other girls do, the reality is that she doesn’t quite know what to think of him. He is human, so he should be below the Iron Angels, who have been told time and time again that they are the pure ones, the perfect ones, emblems of the Goddess herself. But on the other hand, he made them. They were reborn by his will. In a sense, he is their Father, and so Blair gives him the respect that she gives no one else but her sisters. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Blair wears her wings well, as indeed she should; her wings are ridiculously big for her small frame, and the question of why this happened still puzzles many of the scientists. In flight, she is among the fastest and most graceful of her siblings, because the sheer size of her wings compared to her body gives her an incredible return for every single wingbeat. She has honed her mental abilities to the point where telepathy and telekinesis are almost routine for her – she enjoys being able to bend her surroundings to her will. But that focus on her mental abilities has had its price; she is not quite so physically strong as most of her sisters. Since she can outfly most if not all of them, though, she isn’t concerned about that. Į ħανε (a heart): She started out a sweet, happy little girl who loved her family and her life. Being handed over for an experiment by her beloved parents cracked her. The first few years of pain and confusion and terror twisted her. Once the wings started to grow, the fresh onslaught of pain when she’d finally believed herself safe broke her. She was angry and she was hurt and she was a little bit insane, but it was the fear – fear of losing, fear of hurting, fear of dying – that made her who she was. Unfortunately, the one thing that goes worst with incredible power is fear. She’s been told so many times that she and her sisters are the Goddess incarnate, the Iron Angel brought to earth, that she believes it. As a result, she is extremely arrogant with everyone but her sisters, and her God complex defies description. But underneath that arrogance, which would be ridiculous if it wasn’t in a creature of so much power and thus so frightening, Blair is a terrified, heartbroken child still trying to come to grips with what has been done to her. Maybe once she understands why and how this came to be, she’ll tone it down. Į ħανε (a secret): More than anything else, Blair fears death. That might be the reason she survived this long – she kept living through all the pain and the torment because she was so afraid to die.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "They tell us to worship the Goddess. We are the Goddess. We are the eternal." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. SilentShadowDreamer Requested emoticon: yum_strawberrypie Į αм (your God): SilentShadowDreamer Į αм (a person): Wren Abernathy Į αм (old enough): Twenty-five Į αм (a figurehead): Human
Į ħανε (a history): She had always been a clever girl. Wren’s fascination with science was known to her parents from an early age, and they encouraged it in every way they could – in a city like Chamberfire, having a scientist for a child was the parental dream. She was given every opportunity to explore, to challenge, to test, and she soaked up the knowledge they gave her. With all that extra encouragement, she flew through school. She took jobs in the summer and after-school, anything at all that would give her more opportunities to learn from the best.
They were impressed with what they saw, apparently, and when she graduated college last year, she was offered a job working on one of the most lucrative projects in the world. She was offered a chance to work on Project Purity, a project she’d been following devotedly – every piece of information they’d shared with the public, she knew. She jumped at it.
It’s been almost a year since then, and she often finds herself wondering if she made the right choice. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Wren carries a gun. It’s not much compared to the overflow of strength that she sees every day in those young girls, but it keeps her safe when she’s traveling the darker, dirtier streets. Į ħανε (a heart): Being invited to work with the Stormtop Iron Angels should have been the most thrilling experience of Wren’s life, and it was for a little while. But something about the job has been bringing her down lately. Maybe it’s hearing the screaming of children as she passes by the nurseries where the process is begun. Maybe it’s doing the weekly exams on a young girl as she grows into a woman and getting to know her, only to hear one week that that girl couldn’t take the pressure anymore and died. Maybe it’s seeing the insanity and the pain in the eyes of women barely younger than she. Maybe it’s just that heavy, oppressive feeling, that knowledge that somewhere, somehow, they failed – and those girls are suffering for nothing. Į ħανε (a secret): Wren looks young for her age, doesn’t she? Especially with that hair and the piercing. Well, that’s okay – she makes up for it with a quick mind and a calmness that soothes the soul.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "It feels like something, somewhere, has gone horribly wrong. But I don’t know why. Isn’t this supposed to make things better?" Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. SilentShadowDreamer yum_tea Į αм (your God): SilentShadowDreamer Į αм (a person): Ilesta Į αм (old enough): Very old indeed – several thousands of years old, now. Į αм (a figurehead): True Angel
Į ħανε (a history): Ilesta is one of the warriors chosen by her Lord to go down and end the sufferings of the Stormtops. She is a fierce fighter, as she has always been – it is simply in her nature to battle for what she feels is right. After listening to the songs of Lumina, she believes that this is what must be done.
It must be done. Not only for the girls themselves, but for the sake of the world. If the humans of Chamberfire are arrogant enough to cause this much pain to better their own position in the world, what will they do once they have the capability to control so much more?
Though she grieves for the girls that the Stormtops used to be, Ilesta is set on her path. Her own values and the request of her Lord are both the same. The Stormtops must be freed. They must be judged.
It must be done. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Ilesta is vicious in her power. Through the staff she carries, she can wield fire – however, she must channel it through the staff or it would burn her soul to cinders. She’s also quite handy with sword and staff as weapons. Į ħανε (a heart): This is not Ilesta’s first time going down to Earth – she has always been a warrior, and though the Stormtops might be technically ‘new’, the idea behind them is not. There is nothing new under the sun. Evil simply cycles. She doesn’t like to think about the first time that she went, nor about what happened to the vessel she once had. Suffice simply to say that she needs a new one. Į ħανε (a secret): Ilesta doesn’t have a vessel right at the moment. She has hopes that the Nightrifters will find one for her soon – she is growing impatient, knowing the source of the problem and yet not being able to do anything about it.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "These travesties are a cruelty; they are an affront to God. This must end." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. SilentShadowDreamer yum_strawberry Į αм (your God): SilentShadowDreamer Į αм (a person): Carel Kirson Į αм (old enough): Twenty-six Į αм (a figurehead): Nightrifter
Į ħανε (a history): He was shuttled away from his family at a young age, the same day that his mother discovered what he really was. As a Nightrifter, he was too dangerous to keep in Chamberfire proper, and so he was sent away to live with an aunt in the countryside. She didn’t know what he was or how to help him train, so he learned by himself.
Now he’s back in town, having heard the stories about the Stormtops. The True Angels have contacted him, and he is dedicated to the cause they have told him about. Those children need help, he tells himself. Maybe some of them can still be saved and kept alive – at least some of the younger ones. The older ones…need to be freed.
He’s been in town for only a few months, but with his sense of urgency growing every day, he feels that something needs to start moving as soon as possible. They have to hurry if they want to save any of the girls at all. And he so badly wants to save at least a few of them. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Carel is a vicious close-up fighter – he carries a pair of knives that look like average penknives when folded up. When they’re opened, the knives prove to be the size of a fair-length dagger. Like any Nightrifter, his psychic powers give his weapons an edge; they are capable of manipulating any wound they cause, whether that’s making it deeper, causing it to get infected or simply making it take longer to heal. On the opposite side of things, if he makes a shallow cut with one of his knives inside a wound that’s already been caused, the power spreads to the entire wound and he can help it to heal faster. Į ħανε (a heart): Spending his entire life in hiding has kept Carel from being able to trust most others farther than he can throw them. He has to keep more secrets than the average citizen knows is a possibility, and so he doesn’t talk much. He puts on the façade of relaxed friendliness, but he uses that same façade to keep others away from his deeper self. The only thing that really matters to him is helping the True Angels to end the horror that is the Stormtops. Į ħανε (a secret): Carel is generally just a calm, easygoing guy. He also looks young for his age – this makes people underestimate him, and he’s happy to show them just how wrong they are when the time is right.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "I swear somehow we’ll make this right." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. SilentShadowDreamer yum_onigiri Į αм (your God): SilentShadowDreamer Į αм (a person): Faith Beaumont Į αм (old enough): Twenty-four Į αм (a figurehead): Stormtop
Į ħανε (a history): Faith was one of the very first girls to be handed over to Project Purity. While most of the rest of that first batch died, she faded in and out – for several years, it seemed that it was going to be touch-and-go, that perhaps the entire test group was going to die. But as the wings began to sprout, she managed to pull through the years of weakness, and she has been growing stronger and better-adapted ever since. For the scientists, at least the more religious ones, Faith’s survival seemed to be a sign from the Iron Angel herself: that She was on their side, and that if they had faith, Project Purity would succeed.
They don’t even care that her wings are smaller and more fragile than most of her sisters’. They don’t care that she’s not as strong as she could be, nor that she’s so reluctant to be their avatar of the Goddess. She was one of the first to survive. She was the one to pull through when some were beginning to wonder if Project Purity had been nothing more than a momentary dream. She gave them the hope to carry on.
And for that, she will never be able to forgive herself. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Her strength has always lain in her ability to survive. She was created before the system was perfected, and so Faith lacks some of the things her sisters have; her wings are more delicate, her strength less. But though she must be careful about how long she flies and she will never be able to outfight her younger sisters, she has strength that most of them didn’t – the strength to hold on to her sanity and her humanity. Because she’s always had a strong mind, most of her powers now lie in her mental abilities. Since they’ve had longer to develop, they’ve mutated into something a little different from the norm: her telepathy has become suggestive, enough so that she can influence the thoughts of sufficiently weak-minded people, and her telekinesis has pinpoint accuracy – she often uses it to manipulate flesh, skin and bone to heal her sisters’ battle-wounds. It’s hideously painful, but it does the job fast. Į ħανε (a heart): Faith, oddly, has only made it this far because of her faith – her absolute belief that everything will always turn out right in the end. She’s watched her sisters die, kill one another, go insane, and she has clung to her belief that somehow this will turn out okay; it’s the last port in the gruesome, bloody storm that has become her life. Because she has that to shelter her when everything seems to be at its worst, she has managed to hold on to something of what she used to be. She is still kind. She is still sweet. And because she is still so gentle while her sisters are so full of rage, most people underestimate both her power and her pain. Į ħανε (a secret): What she doesn’t believe in is the Iron Angel. If such a Goddess existed, surely She would have come down to smite Faith and her sisters as blasphemous by now.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "Everything’s going to be all right. Somehow it’ll be okay, I promise. Just hold on." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş.

Talon StarDrifter yum_cupcake *hint: the picture is clickable* Į αм (your God): Talon StarDrifter Į αм (a person): Lockheed Į αм (old enough): Twenty Į αм (a figurehead): Stormtop
Į ħανε (a history): Lockheed was born a black-haired, black-eyed child of a different, human name, to a different, human family. This girl's parents decided to make a good deed of dumping her, donating their youngest to the scientists of Chamberfire. At first, it seemed the little girl would not make it. She was not responding well to the treatments and often neared death's doorstep, only to recover feebly at the last moment. Slowly, ever so slowly, the youngster began to strengthen, do better in lab tests, and exhibit growth. Of course, that didn't mean she wasn't almost constantly writhing in pain on the floor of the laboratory that was her home, but she at least neared death's door less frequently than she used to.
When her wings emerged, they were deformed and would have killed her had the scientists not intervened. They were forced to amputate the wing sprouts and perform surgery, removing the buds from her shoulder blades. Not wanting their time and effort to go to waste, the scientists grafted onto her new wings. However, unable to replicate the sleek, more natural-looking wings, Lockheed was given appendages that looked and functioned more like machinery. Over the years, her wings underwent upgrades and became more refined. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Lockheed possesses a range of abilities, her most powerful and developed one being her superhuman strength. She has been known to break the heaviest of equipment when enraged, as well as toss full-grown men into the air with the flick of a wrist. With her mechanical wings, the scientists decided to experiment and made her body itself more mechanical in nature. They wanted to see how far they could go without killing her biological body, making her practically half machine, half human. With wires and electricity running through her bodies much like veins and blood would, Lockheed is able to function more like a machine. By vibrating her wings faster than a hummingbird for a split second, she can break glass or other fragile materials. She can use echolocation to determine the location of objects and biological masses in an enclosed space. The advanced, reinforced glass plate covering her eyes and nose enhances her vision, allowing her to see at night and, with the right gear equipped, through solid objects. She has a built-in altimeter, airspeed indicator, and attitude indicator. These allow her to know exactly where she is in reference to the ground at all times. Don't ask her for directions, however; due to magnetic fields, she possesses no compass and could not find north if her life depended on it. Her psychic abilities are of no significance, and she is limited to telepathic links to her sisters and the smallest fraction of telekinetic power. Į ħανε (a heart): After the initial horror, misery, and excruciating body aches wore off (basically, when she finally grew out her wings), Lockheed took her demigod status and ran with it. She fears no one and looks down on anyone not a Stormtop like herself -- save Blackblade, of course. The only human authority Lockheed respects is Blackblade. The slightest bit of pain will send her into a furious frenzy (though her pain threshold is considerably high and she is rather durable) and she must be quickly contained before she destroys the whole facility. Otherwise, Lockheed is the silent, brooding type, a glimmer of fury always simmering in her mutated blue eyes. Not once has she laughed, though one scientist marked an exhilarated quirk of the corner of her mouth when she took her first flight. That was the first and last time anyone saw such an expression cross the normally serious woman's face. Į ħανε (a secret): Despite her arrogant attitude, Lockheed feels inferior to her sisters. She feels her wings are not as beautiful nor as graceful as theirs. Also, mention the word "cyborg" in her vicinity and you'd be lucky to survive the next two minutes.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "If I wake up and I am not in pain, then I will know I am dead." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş. Talon StarDrifter yum_tea Į αм (your God): Talon StarDrifter Į αм (a person): Charon Ilfracombe Į αм (old enough): Twenty five Į αм (a figurehead): Nightrifter
Į ħανε (a history): Charon grew up in the center of Chamberfire, right in the middle of all the activity. When he was young, his baby sister was volunteered by his parents to Project Purity. Despite trying to save her, she was lost to the clutches of the scientists and Charon never saw her again. Shortly afterward, he began to display his psychic powers. Frightened, he ran away from home and after a year of eking out a lonely, miserable existence, Charon was picked up by a group of Nightrifters, drawn by his inexperienced explosions of power. They brought him up and taught him what it meant to be a Nightrifter, controlling his power and denouncing the evils of Project Purity.
Finally a fully fledged Nightrifter, Charon is ready to actively join the cause. What he hasn't told the others, however, is that he believes his sister might be among the ranks of the Stormtops. After all these years, he hasn't forgotten his little sister and is determined to find her once more. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Charon's abilities lie greatly with passive psychic abilities rather than offensive ones. Due to his upbringing, he's developed skill in his tracking abilities. Upon coming into physical contact with an object, Charon can relate exactly to you the history of it from the day it was brought into existence: where it came from, who touched it, how it was used, etc. He does become susceptible to the emotions associated with it, however, so he uses this power sparingly. Another power he's developed is pathfinding. Someone or something he's made an emotional connection with is permanently connected to him, and he can track it like a hound follows a scent. The person or object must be in the same condition he left them in, however, otherwise he loses the special connection he had with them (i.e. a person who has changed drastically or an item broken into pieces), which prevented him from finding his sister. His last noteworthy ability is his psychic defense. If he feels he's psychically in danger, Charon can emit a psionic blast, paralyzing his opponents. Along with these, he can manipulate darkness to a degree and use it to defend himself if need be. Į ħανε (a heart): Having his younger sister torn away from him as a child has taught Charon a lesson in responsibility. As a child he blamed himself for the loss of his sister, and while time has taught him otherwise, he values intensely those he meets and grows to care for. Charon is civil and obedient, respectful and reliable to those who have earned his respect. He always thinks things through before acting and says what he means and means what he says. Never once has he apologized in his life, as he is saving the one and only apology he'll ever utter for the one person who deserves it: his sister. On the flipside, Charon is a relentless Nightrifter, determined and stubborn, always willing to help a friend, or Angel in need. He won't hesitate to take a life if he needs to, though he will only do so as a last resort. Į ħανε (a secret): If Charon indeed succeeds in finding his sister, he won't give her up to the True Angels. As much as he is dedicated to his cause, he couldn't bring himself
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "My whole life, my pain, my sorrows, my power... it has only ever been for her." Į ħανε (a history): For aeons, Astra was adrift among the stars, having left behind the Earth long ago with His blessing. Intending only to satisfy her curiosity about what lay beyond the sky, a short trip turned into an age of exploring the cold reaches of space, and her memory of Earth faded into oblivion. Astra would have been content to wander the Universe for the rest of her existence, or that of the Universe. Whichever ended first.
Something, however, disrupted her sabbatical. Having long thought all ties to her home severed, Astra was surprised to feel the twinges of loss, misery, chaos, and fury emanating from Earth, especially considering how far she had tread. Curious, Astra responded to the touch, opening her mind to the happenings of the world she'd left behind. What she saw in her minds eye shocked her. Letting loose a furious screech, Astra set straight for home.
Normally never one to condescend to meddle in the affairs of humans, Astra was nevertheless dragged into the fray by the metal monstrosities and the word of her Lord. And when Basandra, an Angel she had the utmost respect for, summoned her sisters to Chamberfire, Astra's path was set.
What had mankind come to, torturing and twisting their helpless young females, creating a mockery of her and her sisters and worshipping them as godlings? Offended and infuriated, the normally cold Astra descended upon Chamberfire with the intent to lay waste to those filthy wretches, only to find out she needed a host. The Nightrifters were only too obliging to help her in her quest for a suitable shell. As she waited, her anger cooled and Astra again regained her cool demeanor, sitting quietly, waiting, thinking, planning. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): Having spent the last aeons of her existence in space, Astra learned to use the cold, raw power of the stars. Similar to the powers of a Nightrifter, Astra can tear through the very fabric of reality and change it as she sees fit. Of course, she must be careful not to step on her Creator's toes, something she'd never worried about before her return. Alternately, should she tire of waiting for a human host, Astra can adopt an animal form and use it to walk the human plane - with her powers drastically reduced as a price. Į ħανε (a heart): Before her journey through space, Astra was like any other young Angel: innocent, fair, and blissfully unaware of the tiresome human race. However, as she aged, she came to hate what mankind had done with their gifts and sought solace in the stars. Drifting among the cold reaches of the Universe taught her to be cold, however, and she soon lost whatever empathy she had left for His other creations. Now Astra is cool, indifferent (for the most part), and dispassionate. When someone dares tread on her Master's toes, however, she becomes a force to be reckoned with. Anger clouds her judgment and, impetuous and difficult, Astra will only settle down once her lust for justice has been settled. Į ħανε (a secret): Astra has yet to find a host, but she whiles away her time with thinking what animal forms she can take, or what she'll do to those scientists when she gets her hands on them and their repulsive mutants.
Tell me, tell me: Čαη Ŷσυ ₣εзļ ţħε Рřεзşŝυŗε? "Can you feel it? The freezing dark of the endless night..." Because let's face it, honey- you were ßσŗη ғσг Ŧђιş.

WhiteWingtip yum_wasabipie Į αм (your God): Whitewingtip Į αм (a person): Elijah Thomas Daniel Į αм (old enough): 23 Į αм (a figurehead): Nightrifter Į ħανε (a history): I was born into a family who wasn't obsessed with the Iron Angels ideal, and stayed true to the belief that the real True Angels and God above was the center of our lives. My father was a Nightrifter before me, and I was raised believing sincerely that every soul can be saved, even the Stormtops. My sister was taken to become a Stormtop when she was very young, and she did not survive the procedure. I became a Nightrifter not because my father was, but because I believe that I can help stop this madness in some small way.
Į ħανε (wings, potentially): I have two violins; one made of wood and the other made of metal. I use both, but the wooden one helps me to concentrate and helps to focus my powers. I also use it when playing on the street to make a little money to fund the Nightrifters. It isn't much, but every little bit helps. The metal one produces a louder and harsher sound which can be used in battle, though I prefer not to fight at all. My psychic powers are honed to repell oncoming attacks or projectiles instead of actually using them offensively.
Į ħανε (a heart): I am more focused on reaching the hearts and minds of the Stormtops than by dragging them forcefully to God's door. I do not think that anyone benefits from retiring to an early grave, but if one feels that what they have become is somehow wrong, they will fight against it and prove to be our allies in taking out the horrible transformation of beautiful young women into iron-clad monstrosities. I wish to help the Stormtops realize that they are not the gods that the scientists claim they are. Those beautiful children of God have been changed against their will into horribly painful creations as a means to be idols for us to worship. They are misguided, brainwashed, and I wish to help them see the light.
Į ħανε (a secret): He's always wanted to know what it was like to fly like the True Angels, but never really thinks that he'll ever get the oppertunity to find out. Elijah has a tattoo across his left shoulder of the Lord's Prayer decorated with roses.

Lucky_Tiger yum_strawberry Į αм (your God): Lucky_Tiger Į αм (a person): Kiara Milbrooks Į αм (old enough): Twenty Į αм (a figurehead): Stormtop
Į ħανε (a history): Kiara was just a year old when her parents willingly handed her over to Project Purity. Being a blonde haired, blue eyed child, they believed she would have a better life as a Goddess rather than in the poor area of town they eked out a living in. As the scientists worked on her, they realized her body seemed to be accepting the metal better than most, though they had yet to realize just how well. When her wings began forming, despite the pain, each feather formed perfectly right down to the chiseled details until she had a set of well formed metal wings. Į ħανε (wings, potentially): The metal used to form Kiara's wings spread much more than was intended to, creeping along underneath her skin to cover her with a flexible metal shield. Though her skin can be cut and will still bleed a little bit, it's nowhere near the same amount that cutting a normal person would produce. The pain however, is the same. The metal is thin enough to be flexible and doesn't hamper her movements any yet strong enough to resist most attacks and adds a bit of strength to her. Į ħανε (a heart): Like all of the girls in the project, Kiara was changed by the procedure. Unlike the others though, her anger and rage were turned upon herself and the others like her. She fluctuates heavily between severe depression and total hatred. Most of her emotions are directed at herself, but occasionally she lashes out at those around her be they human or Stormtop. Once before she killed another of the Stormtops in her rage. The scientists considered putting her down at that point but decided against it. They still didn't understand how to replicate her inner metal shielding. Kiara knows that her life is only a tentative thing and that makes her mood swings even worse. She knows that as soon as they can reproduce the effects of her abilities, they'll destroy her for being 'too dangerous'. Į ħανε (a secret): Kiara believes in and prays to the White Angel that Sleeps, though only when no one is around. She is convinced that no true Goddess would allow so much pain and suffering to be done in her name.
