It was after school and Mitsu was trying to focus on her homework like a good ghoul should. She had seated herself in the courtyard on the ground hoping it would help clear her mind but that didn't seem to help. Really her thoughts kept wandering back to training and what she needed to improve on. Which was everything in her mind. Sure she had discovered a strength but she really didn't know how to use it properly. All she had managed to do was break things...things she needed.
Sighing she looked over her essay she was supposed to write, only a sentence in. A poorly made sentence at that. If only it could write itself, then she could train like she needed to do. She even had her gym clothes with her in her school bag ready to hop to it as soon as she was done. If only her mind could work for more than a few seconds at a time.
Ears falling back she redoubled her efforts in concentrating, crimson eyes boring into the paper as her pencil hovered over it. Something....something.....she had nothing.

Herryk needed leashes. So many leashes. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to walk fifty-something foxfires all at once, but he was certain that it could be done. Tying leashes to leashes? Connecting collar to collar to collar and then using one big huge leash? Walking his foxfires in shifts -- maybe twenty at a time -- was simply not an option for the draugr. No, Herryk was going to walk all of his babies at one time because he didn't want anyone getting jealous.
As he jogged across campus, intent on heading into town to go shopping at Out of the Closet for more foxfire supplies, Herryk caught sight of a familiar face. Well, kind of familiar. Maybe? Hadn't the ghoul before him been on the field trip? He was certain she had, and so Herryk slowed his jog to a walk before coming to a stop near the ghoul on the ground.
"Herryk is sure he recognizes this one," he said with a smile. "Whitewolf was on the field trip, yes?" His voice was soft so as not to startle the ghoul. She did look very ... involved with whatever she was working on.

Mitsu was focused hard on her paper, maybe if she stared long enough the words would form. At first she hadn't processed the deep voice speaking to her, not until she heard the name whitewolf. It made her look up for the source, her ears perking high on her head as she turned to the large dark skinned boil.
"Me?" Confused she pointed toward herself, large crimson eyes staring at him through her mess of bangs. Though if she looked around it was obvious. There weren't a lot of other white wolves on campus let alone anyone else nearby. Though now that she thought about it yes she had seen him before in the hub during their field trip. It was to hard misplace a boil with that many biceps, triceps, and countless other ceps Mitsu didn't know the names for.
"Y..yes, I was on the field trip." Mitsu nodded, smiling sheepishly as she set her supplies aside for the moment and stood dusting her skirt off in the process. Wow he was....tall. Really tall. How had Mitsu missed that before? Maybe because everyone was tall to her with a small hand full of exceptions.
"My name is Mitsu." She said softly as she approached. He only managed to get taller still as she drew closer but that didn't keep her from offering a hand in greeting. "Its nice to meet you." For her size her grip was surprisingly strong, perhaps a little too strong.

Herryk nodded, the bright smile that graced his lips growing even broader. She was so small, like Lizzy or Jove or Chuppi or even like Herryk's most beloved and sweetest little babies. That instantly made the primal protective instinct rise in Herryk's chest. Sure, he was protective over Freya, but that was an entirely different, more primal drive.
"Yes!" He reached forward and carefully took her hand in his cooler one, giving a firm shake. Not too firm, he didn't want to hurt her, but firm enough to show that he recognized the strength in her shake -- and he respected it.
"Herryk," he added, placing his palm against his chest to indicate that he was addressing himself. "It is a pleasure to meet Mitsu." The draugr chuckled quietly, tilting his head to the side.
"Herryk remembers Freya kissing the boil that was with Mitsu on the field trip. Herryk does not remember this boil's name, though." He left that little phrase to end in a question for Mitsu to answer if she so desired.

Mitsu's shy smile broadened at the greeting, noting how the boil's hand completely swallowed hers as he gripped it to shake. "Herryk." She nodded, repeating the name as she always did to help her put it to memory.
Their meeting was friendly and light. The boil had appeared rather intimidating with his size but he seemed really nice. And then that moment was ruined as Herryk brought up one of the many things from the trip that Mitsu would have rather forgotten.
....
ಠ_ಠ
.....
She was not pleased to remember the pretty blonde lady, who was apparently Hel's sister, with her big boobs and confident look all pressed close to Shun in frilly pink panties making kissy faces. True in Mitsu's mind it seemed worse than it actually had been. Freya might as well have made out with Shun with tongue it wouldn't have made the ghoul fume about it any less.
Doing her best to not be rude, Mitsu forced a smile back on her face. It wasn't like Herryk had made out with Shun after all. "H-His name is Shun. He's my boilfriend." She added trying to keep the possessive tone out of her sentence.
"And Freya? Is Herryk with Freya? You seemed close." When she wasn't making kissy faces with her reaper. There was a hint of hope in her voice though, while she knew Shun loved her and was protective of her that didn't keep her from seeing the ghoul as a threat. A big threat. There was no way Mitsu could compete with someone like that.

Herryk opened and closed his mouth a few times helplessly as he caught the way that Mitsu stared at him. He was such an idiot sometimes. Herryk grew a little frustrated at himself for causing the conversation to come to a screeching halt. The pained silence had him rubbing the back of his neck until Mitsu spoke again.
When she finished speaking, Herryk crossed his arms over his chest and rocked back on his heels as he contemplated what to say next. He felt awful.
After clearing his throat a few times, Herryk offered her a chagrined smile.
"Freya is Herryk's ghoulfriend." Herryk did not hesitate to keep the possessive tone from his voice. She was his and he would break anyone who dared to touch her. This Mac fellow was first on his list.
"Shun is very lucky to have a ghoul so pretty as Mitsu," he offered softly, a hopeful look on his face.

The way he said it, Herryk had spared no possessiveness from his tone. It was actually a little romantic to Mitsu but perhaps that was the wolfish side of her brain speaking. It also eased her mind a little. Freya had Herryk so she could leave Shun alone.
The look she had was quick to fade, her expression suddenly shy and bashful when Herryk said she was pretty. Pretty wasn't a word she heard often. Cute maybe, she had heard that often but she couldn't help but associate that word with a pet. Pets were cute. Shun was the first to say something else. Beautiful. He had called her beautiful and it had warmed her deeply and now Herryk had told her she was pretty.
While she didn't have feelings for Herryk it didn't keep the light hue of pink from blooming across her cheeks. "T..thank you." She whispered shyly, her tail swishing behind her in a light wag. What he had said before had been forgotten apparently though Mitsu was easy to distract.

Herryk grinned at the blush that spread across Mitsu's cheeks. He was reminded of Freya's blush. She always looked so fetching when that pink kissed her cheeks. Herryk was charmed by the wolfgirl's shy expression. He was glad that he'd been able to make her smile.
Herryk had a softness for little things, and Mitsu was assuredly a little thing. He just wanted to protect all of the adorable little things in Halloween, and whether Mitsu realized it or not, she had just gained herself a devout protector.
"Mitsu is welcome," he beamed at the ghoul. The way she wagged her tail reminded him of Jove, and that alone was enough to overwhelm Herryk with adorableness. "What was Mitsu working on before Herryk showed up to distract her?"

The smile she had widened a bit, her eyes creasing as it touched them. It wasn't until he asked what she had been working on that she turned to look at the papers and pencil she had abandoned on the ground. "O..oh."
Kneeling she picked up the paper she had written a single sentence on looking at it with a hint of frustration. "I was working on my homework. I'm supposed to write an essay about how I did scaring someone with what we were given in acting class." She had been rather successful, she thought it would be easy but her mind just wasn't in it.
"I can't really focus on it though." She admitted looking back up at the boil. "I keep thinking about other things. Like how I need to train and get stronger." Really that was all that was on her mind. She was failing in protecting the ones she cared for and she needed to get stronger so that she could change that.
"What was Herryk up to?" She asked curiously. Had he just been on a stroll?

Herryk's brow creased as Mitsu lamented over her homework woes. Herryk had done homework once before. It had ended abruptly when the dustbunnies involved had made an attempt on the lives of his foxfires. He completely sympathized with the homework woes that Mitsu was experiencing.
"Herryk was going to the minipet store. For leashes." He cleared his throat. "For Herryk's foxfires. Herryk started with five foxfires. Herryk now has too many, but he loves them so much." Herryk gave a small shrug before he snapped his fingers.
"Would Mitsu like to join Herryk? Herryk is still not sure how to walk all of his babies at one time, and Herryk does not want to leave one group behind. Herryk does not want anyone to feel left out." He seemed excited at the thought of having someone to brainstorm with on his foxfire-leashing options.
"Perhaps Herryk and Mitsu can discuss past battles? Discuss what to do in future battles to make sure that there is no failure?"

The prospect that he had too many foxfires made Mitsu's eyes light up like a jack-o-lantern on Halloween. Mitsu was fairly certain no one could have too many of the fluffy little pups and given a choice between homework or helping him solve his walking problem, Mitsu was definitely going to choose helping Herryk.
"I would love to help!" She chirped excitedly. "I..If I can." She added hesitantly. Quick to turn to her bag on the ground Mitsu packed her things away before lifting it up and onto her shoulders and then faced Herryk. He was sweet to offer to help her sort out her battle problems. Maybe he would have some good advice to try.
"That would be wonderful." Mitsu nodded. "Maybe a different perspective will help me sort some things out." Mitsu was ready to go but she did not take the lead. While she knew of a few pet stores in town to look for leashes and things she had no idea which store Herryk had in mind, not to mention...her sense of direction was always off. If she took the lead they would end up in completely the wrong place. Realizing that was half the battle despite how she had tried to work on it. She had spent many a night lost wandering in town rather aimlessly until she either broke down and called for help or by chance made it back to school.
"How many foxfires do you have, Herryk?" Mitsu asked curiously figuring they could try to brainstorm on the way to the store and hopefully have a plan in place and know what they needed.

Herryk clapped his hands together once as an expression of happiness when Mitsu agreed to come with him. He did enjoy making new friends, especially friends that shared his fondness of poofs. Oh, his little babies. Just thinking about them made Herryk so happy and giddy that he could just ... scream. He didn't, though, instead launching a barrage of words at Mitsu that he was helpless to squelch.
"Herryk had only one foxfire at first. His sweetest Nanna. And then Herryk thought to himself, 'Oh, maybe Nanna is lonely. Also Herryk loves poofs. Herryk will get Nanna a friend.' So Herryk got a Martta and a Dagny. Since Herryk loves his poofs, then he got a few more. And a few more."
Herryk cleared his throat.
"And then Herryk went on the field trip, and suddenly when Herryk got home he had almost thirty-five foxfires." His eyebrow twitched.
"And then Herryk went to Sif's wedding with Mot and Hel and Freya, and suddenly when Herryk got home he had over fifty of the babies. Fifty babies! Can Mitsu imagine?!" Herryk shook his head, his shoulders drooping.
"It is so hard to take all of the babies on walkies when there are so many. So, if Mitsu helps Herryk as best she can, Herryk will try and help Mitsu with her homework!" Herryk smiled broadly and started a slow walk into town. He was glad the school was so close, it would take them hardly any time at all to get to the minipet store.

Mitsu listened intently as Herryk recounted how his collection had begun. It was interesting to see how one had turned into three and then a couple more were added and suddenly thirty five. The boil had left again and while he was away his foxfires had multiplied again like dust bunnies and now he had fifty. FIFTY. Mitsu almost looked starry eyed thinking about it. She could imagine it, she thought. It mainly looked like a poofy fuzzy cloud with fifty sets of eyes.
"Ah, you do have many!" Mitsu seemed more in awe of the fact than anything else. She really liked the little creatures but didn't have one of her own. She still only had Milo and Ziggy but Ziggy was terrible with most other living creatures and her throw rug. She also had a rapalicious in her closet but she didn't count that. Mainly she threw food in for the creature too scared to bring it out.
Now Mitsu could see Herryk's problem though. Fifty fluffs, while small, were hard to manage at once. "Hmm, how to walk them all at once." Mitsu tapped her chin in thought. "I've heard in the colder climates they have things called dog sled teams. They have all the dogs grouped together to help pull a cart or sled. I wonder if something like that would work." It was one possibility though Mitsu was sure there were others.

Herryk nodded. "Yes. Many. Herryk just gave one to his friend Mort. It is hard for Herryk to part with his poofs, but... Mort will give Lanna a good home. This is all that matters." He offered Mitsu a smile. Honestly, there were two things that Herryk could talk about endlessly. Freya, of course, and his poofs. Mitsu seemed more receptive to the latter, and so Herryk would keep talking about poofs for the time being.
"Such as harnesses? Herryk was thinking of this. Surely it would be simple to attach harnesses together, five at a time, and one leash for every five babies." Herryk looked thoughtful. He would have to see what they had in stock, and perhaps speak with someone more knowledgeable than himself. He idly wondered if Christof, Barth or Calder would have any good ideas. Calder had been quite helpful in the past, after all.
It didn't take them long to reach the store, and Herryk held the door for Mitsu so that she could enter first before he followed her in.

"Mort?" That name seemed familiar. She was certain she had heard it on the field trip but she really couldn't place a face with the name. "I'm sure Lanna will be happy. Do you have other close friends that might watch over one of the babies for you? They might like the one on one attention." Finding good homes for some of the little poofs, as Herryk called them, was also another option, though it seemed like the big guy was rather attached to them all. If it was a close friend though he would still get to see them and know that they were being taken care of. That thought made her wonder how Meela was doing. She hadn't heard back from Derykion about her and regretted not getting his phone number in exchange. She kind of missed playing with the ghost dog.
Before long they had arrived at their destination and the werewolf thanked Herryk as he held the door open for her and walked inside. Looking around Mitsu finally spotted where the leashes and collars were and headed over looking at the harnesses that they had available. "Fifty is still a lot of harnesses to buy but you could probably have a couple of lead pups and feed a line through the harnesses like you said." Mitsu didn't even want to know how long it would take Herryk to put the harnesses on and take them off again.
"Maybe someone could come over to help walk them too? I could help from time to time." She offered. The lycan had just met Herryk but she would like to think they could be friends. Not to mention she wanted to see his tiny pack of fluffs.
