Now that the male had been accepted into the pride along with his father, both guys were on the mission backwards to pick up their mates and bring them back to the lands. They weren't far, but both Hayven and Chincha had wanted to ensure the girls safety. Chincha had since left Hayven to find his own mate, and Hayven was glad for it. It had been a few days since he had seen Koa, and he couldn't wait to return to her side.. That, and he was getting incredibly nervous that she would have needed him in his absence and something could have happened. Though that was silly, Koa was a fighter!
"Koa?" He called as he got close to the grove of trees he had left her near. He had figured the hidden seclusion would keep her safe at least for a little while. His heart leapt in his chest, and his blue eyes scanned around him.
"Koa, darling, are you here?"

Koa had been spending her days worrying. Fretfully. Not being near her Hayven was a source of constant anxiety for the lioness. There was always a worry that someone from her pride would find her, hunt her down and drag her back. Because of this fear, Koa had remained in one place and refused to stray. This also meant that she hadn't gone hunting and had been resigned to eating bugs.
Bugs were gross. Bugs were also not very filling.
The first time she thought she'd heard his voice, Koa perked. The second time his voice rang out, Koa was moving. Fast. She caught sight of him and instantly tackled him to the ground.
"Hayven, never again, you have to promise never to leave me again!" The words were peppered between rough laps of her tongue against his cheeks and chin.

He heard a shuffling noise at first, before it turned into an all out rustling noise that lead to the lovely lioness barreling towards him, dragging him down to the earth. He ended up on his back, laughing and pulling her to him with strong paws.
"I promise, my love." He said, and accepted her affections while offering his own for the moment. When he got the chance, he smiled, nosing her cheek and feeling proud of himself.
"My darling! I have good news! We have been accepted my love, and I have been sent to find you."
He looked her over and a frown formed on his handsome features.
"Koa, what happened, why are you so thin?" He asked, standing, and urging her to stand while walking back to the lands that they would call home. If she had the energy then he would hunt for her.

Koa did a little dance in place once she moved off of him, bouncing gleefully.
"A home! A real home, Hayven? For us?" She looked like she might explode with happiness at the prospect of such a thing, and Koa forced herself to calm down a little so that she might answer his next question properly.
Or at least glaze over it a little.
"Oh, Hayven," she purred, butting her head against his chin. "I'm not thin! I'm fine! When do we get to go home?" She hoped he wouldn't keep asking about her loss of weight. It was a little embarrassing that she'd been too terrified to hunt on her own.

The frown stayed on his face but once she started nuzzling him it was forgotten. It was hard to keep the right frame of mind whenever she was around loving on him.
"We go home now, beautiful. It isn't far either! Come on." He said, moving his head in the direction. If they went now, they would be home within a half hour, tops. He had made sure to keep her close.
"The Pridelands that I was telling you about. Father and I were accepted, along with our mates. I get to show you off." He said with an eyebrow wag and stood proudly. The first step of taking care of Koa, he had found her a safe home.
"We will be free now. Safe from harm and the protection of a huge pride at our backs."

Koa beamed at her mate. She wasn't sure what she'd done in her life to deserve his love, his affection and his protection, but Koa knew she was blessed to have him by her side. She was glad to know it wasn't far -- the lack of food over the past few days had caused her strength to lessen -- but she would forge ahead regardless.
For Hayven.
"This is a dream, isn't it, Hayven?" She peered up at him impishly. "I never thought I'd be so happy."

He smiled down at her.
"When we get there, my dear, I shall find you a banquet of food and you can stuff your face, and I'll stuff mine." He chuckled. He had find a place that he could raise children, found a place where he could let the children explore and never have to worry about whether or not they were safe. He knew they would be. Though.. That wouldnt stop him from worrying, of course.
"Neither did I, Koa. Neither did I." He smiled, and his blue eyes glittered a bit.
"Ya know.. This place offers such safety, we could raise cubs here without fret." He winked, and a smile escape him once more, wider than the one before.

Koa's eyes widened at the mention of cubs.
"C-cubs? A family? Of our own?"
She looked a little starry-eyed at the prospect.
"I guess I never thought about it," she said softly. "I've always been too terrified to think about cubs... I never would have wanted to bring babies into the pride you rescued me from." Koa shook her head.
"But now.. I want to. I want to have a family with you, Hayven."

He fidgeted a bit, but then looked at her hopefully. He heard her words but he hoped she said them more for her than for him. He'd hate to push something on her.
"Do you mean it, Koa? Would you really want a family with me?" He asked, his voice almost dreamy. He was really loving this idea of family..Of love.. He couldn't help but feel his heart beat a little wildly in his chest as his anxiety rose.
He could tell when they crossed the lands border by the scent. He scented the air, and then smiled again. Pride rock was visible, though it looked more like a far off mountain. These lansd really were huge.
"We are here, Koa. We are home."

As she peered at the rock that rose in the distance, Koa's heart swelled with emotion. This meant safety, this meant family, this meant love and community. All of the things she could not have imagined experiencing in the pride she'd left behind were now laid before her like a dream.
All because of Hayven.
"I have never been more sure of anything in my life," she whispered sweetly into his mane, a happy sigh sounding from her lips. He had given her his love, he had brought her here to this place. She loved him more than anything.
"I love you," she said softly. "And now we are home."
