 Red eyes gazed over markings and carvings on the temple walls inside the main hall. Her mind whirred with questions as to what it all meant. She literally had joined not but days ago, and she was utterly lost on the history, lore and ways of the pride. She had managed to work out a few basic rules, rules that would be common to almost any pride, at least so she had gathered. And she was getting used to adjusting how much water she drank so as to not run thirsty twenty seconds into the heat of the dry day. Now if only she could find someone who would be patient and willing enough to teach her everything she'd need to know....and to be patient with her, then she would be in great shape. Raising her red gaze to the eagle atop her head, she smiled. "So what do you think Borra?" she giggled, as the eagle seemed as lost and as confused as she did.

 Siad was humming to himself, going over tomorrow's lessons for the older cubs deciding if he was going to teach them the three versions of Horus, Harmakhet, Harpokrates, and Ra-Harakhte. They should all be ready for it. They knew the basics of Horus of being born of Isis after Osiris's death..still, all there forms may be a bit much. Perhaps one at a time, over a few weeks.
Still mulling over these thoughts, the large, well groomed lion moved away from the area he used for teaching and toward that where his den was located, his mind as far away as the stars he studied faithfully each night. It wasn't until he was practically nose to rump with a tail he did not recognized that he stopped just in time.
Sitting back on his hunches, managing to make it look like that was his intent, he asked her in his warm, rumblely way, " May I help you with something?"

Faon was just about lost in her own world when a rumbling voice stirred her out of her dreams. Blinking up in surprise she stared at the large male before her, her red eyes lighting up and her cheeks flushing hot with embarrassment. "Oh heavens me, I'm sorry.....should I not be here?" she questioned and tilted her head, looking around like a scared cat whose about to be pounced on. "I'm new to the pride.... I'm afraid I don't yet know.....well anything." she said as she glanced down at her paws bashfully, rubbing one fore paw against the other.
The lioness's eagle companion peered at the male and chirruped happily at him. "Greetings!" she cooed, fluffing out her tail feathers and stretching one leg and then the other.

Siad smiled at her, his slightly messy mane looking more endearing then unsightly. " No not at all, this is the main area. Everyone is welcome here, as long as you don't go into the island there in the middle of the lake."
He bobbed his head to the eagle, " Greetings master eagle, it is a honor to meet you, ah but where are my manners!," he turned back to the lioness, " Welcome to the Tuait'tekem Lands, how have you found it so far? Has anyone settled you into a den yet?"
His voice had nice warm rumbley sound, as if he spoke often and enjoyed it, not so much in the pleasure of hearing his own voice, but in that of simply liking conversation.

Faon smiled at his warm reassurance and at the fact that she wasn't somewhere she shouldn't be. Casting her red gaze towards where he aimed his muzzle, she made a mental note not to step inside there. Addressing his other question, she nodded her head. "Yes, I do have a den, thank you. I have found the pride lands simply stunning!" she said as her cheeks flushed more with heat. "I don't understand many of the ways yet, but these structures are simply breath taking." she said as she eyed the figures and carvings on the wall once more. "Borra and I were simply trying to see if we couldn't learn something new today." she giggled softly to herself, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

" These walls tell the myth cycles of our gods and people. The one you are staring at right now is one of the myths of Ra the sun god, who was considered the Father of all the Gods. He is represented with the head of a falcon and this tablet concerns his courting of Ratet his wife."
The Scribe gave her a smile that lite his jewel green eyes, one of which he winked at her, " There, now you've learned something new today, and it wasn't that hard..now was it?"

Faon couldn't help but giggle at the wink and his statement. "Oh my, I guess your right." she smiled and stared into his eyes. He seemed like a very wise lion, so full of curious information. She could almost feel it radiating off him and it made her think he might just be some sort of teacher. "Now if only I knew more about this Ra and Ratet, we'd be set." she smiled as she flicked her tail tip a few times. "Would you mind if I ask.... are you a teacher of sorts with in the pride? You certainly seem wise and knowledgeable, and perhaps a young huntress such as myself may learn a lot from you." she said, a warm smile spreading over her muzzle at the thought. "If that is not too bold of me to ask, Sir...." she paused realizing she forgot her own manners. "Oh heavens, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Faon." she said and gave him a low bow, like a lesser would to their superior, her now suddenly shy red gaze upon her paws in embarrassment.

" Well met Faon, and yes I am teacher. I teach the older cubs, the usual juvenile to adolescent, when they are ready to learn the more in depth stories and customs. It is something I enjoy doing, and another student is always welcome."
He noticed the warm blush on her muzzle and wondered what it was about, had she gotten to hot? The Temple here was usually very cool and he was quite comfortable, but she was new and the heat could be brutal.
" I usually check my star clock in the evenings, and sometime I spend a few hours at night tracking the celestial bodies as they move across the sky. If you'd like, I can give you lessons then. So you are not so self conscience among my normal students. It's also not so hot then, and you won't have to deal with the temperature, like you do now."
He hoped she didn't faint, how could he stay with her and send for a healer at the same time?

At his words, her ears flickered in confusion. Heat? Yes she did feel a bit hot, but it wasn't just fro the sun. Oh heavens, had she really been that flustered? She hoped he hadn't noticed, but part of her told her it was already too late. With a soft embarrassed chuckle she nodded her head. "That sounds lovely...at night...yes." she said with a dreamy like sigh. She always did like watching the stars, but she never knew they were so full of information either. "I would enjoy a night time teaching......not so hot...like you said." she smiled and lifted her head back up slowly, trying to shuffle her shoulders to quite the softly snickering eagle. "I'm afraid I'm not used to the heat yet!" she said with a half laugh half sigh. She was however, determined to get used to it. "So perhaps... kind Sir, I will meet you then, and retire now to my den?" she tilted her head and gazed one last time into his green eyes. She still didn't know his name.....

She seemed very uneasy, maybe he was standing to close to her? He was a rather large lion and it made some of the other's nervous. Always had since he had a bigger build then most of the Pride.
" You can meet me right back here at twilight, right after the evening meal and I will take you up to where I usually go to study the stars," he gave her another pleasant smile, hoping to ease any anxiousness she might be feeling because of his size, and because he was a stranger.
" If I am late, just wait. Sometimes I get stopped along the way. You can also ask most of the younglings were Siad is and they can usually find me quickly,"
He gave her a low bow, and inclined his head to the eagle, " Till tonight then."
