Why couldn't she just do this one thing for him? It didn't seem much to ask, and she was a fighter after all. That was what she was supposed to do. Fighters were supposed to win. And yet.
She knew that Devin didn't mind, that he wasn't hanging on to her every penny in order to scrape by for a living, but it wasn't the money that mattered. It was pride.
But who knew. Maybe tonight would be the night. Maybe she would break her losing streak. It could only go uphill from here, anyway.

Ai's Fighting Stats
Attack: 13x4 = 52%
Defense: 12%
Speed: 7%
Agility: 16%
Intelligence: 8% Ai seemed to having the best luck. Winning every battle that was coming at her, she didn’t know when her luck would run out. She followed the normal routine inside the compound, following the attendant as soon as her leash was exchanged from JB’s hand to the man’s. She was willing, moving into the chute quickly, as knowing not to keep others waiting. Once the doors open, she winced at the light that bore into the pit, seeming even brighter today. Shaking her head to rid the brightness, she focused on her opponent.
So, it had been Seven again? It seemed the two owners kept picking the two for battles together. No matters, if Ai beat her once, and again, and could try managing a third one. With a brief smirk placed on her maw, the striped mokai did not bother with Hellos.
The last fight they had been in, Seven had acknowledged (or rather didn’t), the fact of how much she talks in battles, none at all. She looked to have been healed from the last fight they were in too, which was good.
There was no holding back in the pit. Ai lunged at her opponent, teeth bared.

Even if it meant more losing. There still wasn't anything interesting in that. It didn't matter so much that she might lose. It was more that she would no longer earn anything from winning.
Spinning away from Devin's grasp, she bolted across the arena, intent on meeting Ai's attack head on.

Intelligence: 8% The fact of the matter was Ai’s routine could be considered old to those who had battled her before. Seeing that this was the third time Ai had fought against Seven, the thought of the matter would be that she should change up her routine.
She didn’t though. Ai was so use to doing her thing with her horn, and her teeth, it never dawned on her that some mokai may know her strategy inside and out. Perhaps it still was her green side that meandered in every now and then. Whatever it was, it would probably only take a loss for Ai to even change anything.
With her head bowed down, Ai’s horn headed straight for Seven’s forehead.

Almost without thinking about it, she shifted, changing her course and looping away from Ai's head to go for a flank attack, fangs bared and prepared to do some damage.
That would show her.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GO AFTER HER!” Ai heard JB shout, looking up just in time to see she had completely missed Seven’s head, but somehow the other mokai had managed to get around her, and attack her flank. Gasping slightly, the female snarled. She swung a paw filled with her nubby claws at Seven’s mouth, before backing away from the brown female.
Okay…She could let Seven get one hit on her…No more! Ai lunged again, forgetting words Cellen had told her so long ago about thinking about the other’s next move. At the present moment, all Ai wanted was to get an attack on the female, to give her owner a reason to stop yelling at her too.

Her thoughts had distracted her, though, and she jolted back to the present a split second before Ai's attack made contact. Oof. Seven supposed she had to consider herself lucky, though. At least Ai hadn't pointed that scary horn at her again.
Briefly, she wondered if it would be smart to drop and let Ai roll away before renewing her attack. Her mind whirled as she calculated the possible responses, and the odds of success. They seemed... low, at best, especially now that all the momentum behind Ai's attack had disappeared.
Another approach, then. She hopped forward, drawing parallel with her opponent, and pushed herself off the ground and at the striped Mokai in a sideways body slam.

Intelligence: 8% There was something off about this fight for Ai. Usually she wouldn’t let others get in her head, but the constant screaming of her owner was the only thing she could hear. One would think the loud sounds of every other pit patron would have affected her, but they didn’t. The fact of the matter, was she went home with him, and going home a loser was not an option.
Ai was getting antsy. A slight air of panic hit her. While her moves were calm and collected usually, they were getting more erratic. Seven doing much better than her two previous matches wasn’t helping the striped mokai’s situation either.
When the russet female had collided in the side body-slam, Ai went down, and rather hard to.
She opened her eyes blearily, noting that the fight was still going on. With a still clouded mind, Ai made to move another attack, her movements getting rather sluggish.

For a split second, she watched, shocked, as Ai trying to recover from her fall. Now that was somewhat unprecedented. But she had to capitalize on this, she knew. She had to make sure this opportunity didn't escape her.
Recoiling slightly from the striped Mokai's uncharacteristically slow attacks, Seven gathered herself and charged, dropping low for a blow to the chest.

Intelligence: 8x10 = 80% “Damnit Ai! GET AT HER NOW” JB practically screamed, holding himself back from jumping down into the pits himself. His mokai, his champion, was losing to this other?! In his mind, it should have been an easy win! She had beat her twice before!
The yelling really wasn’t helping Ai’s concentration and already slow movements. With her ears pinned back, she watched as Seven aimed for her chest. Ai had two choices, to aim at Seven head on, or protect herself by lowering her body to the ground. She opted for dropping low so she could keep the most tender portion of her body protected. While it saved her stomach from any kind of damage, it didn’t protect the rest of her body.
She heard the (thankful) sound of the bell ring, causing the female to stay on the ground, even after the crowds were waning. She didn’t dare look up at JB, who she knew would be certain to meet her at the sides of the pit, knowing how angry he would be with her performance. Hopefully the stable mate had done better in his battle to make up for the terrible loss she had just endured.
