+++++Hundreds of years ago humans coincided with a group of beings called the Seraph. The seraph were beings that could connect with the forces of nature and bend them to their will.

+++++At first the humans and seraph got along peacefully, but that changed when the humans started there advances in technology at the expense of the planet. The seraph tried to get the humans to change there ways and rethink their actions but it did them no good.

+++++Eventually, the seraph challenged the humans for the rights of the planet. The war lasted for several decades till the humans decided to draw back from the world and the seraph. They built eleven cities and sealed them off from the world. All the while they have been working to find a way to take back the planet from the seraph. This goal has lead them to make a new race called Erinyes, a type of super-soldier that has similar abilities to Seraphs except they connect with technology instead of nature.

+++++Will the humans take over the world? What will the seraph do to stop them? And what of the erinyes?

The city of Arcadia was the first of the eleven cities to be built. It is in the western side of Europe. Over the years people have advanced to where hover-boards, holographic screens and such are a common occurrence. There isn't a lot of nature inside the city, due to the fact that they have to fit so many people inside. Arcadia is separated by a giant five-story wall and protection field.

There are three different races you can choose from. Everyone should know what a human is, so I'm not going to explain that one.

Seraph:
They are the beings that connect to nature and can bend it to there will. They look human but are generally taller and there bones are stronger. They don't use any technology.

Abilities:
Elemental Control - most of them only have an affinity for one element, if they have one at all. Elements are fire, water, wind, and earth.
Commune with Animals - some of them have an affinity for animals. they can sense their feelings or thoughts and generally call out to them when needed.
Telepathy - Most of them can communicate through telepathy depending how far away they are form one another. It's a very common power.

Erinyes
They are the beings created by humans to be their super-soldiers and equal to the seraph. They are taller than humans and their bones are infused with metal alloys. They also have better vision and hearing.

Abilities:
Voltage - The ability to create electricity inside their body and extent it to other person through touch.
Magnetism - ability to bend metal and move metal at their will.
Superluminal Communication - This allows them to transfer data instantaneously from computer to person or occasionally to one another. With this ability they can gather any information that is put onto the network without having to log on and look for it. Every erinyes has this ability.

"I was made to destroy"
..What's beautiful in this world..."

Yang Kaido User Image

A small house sat atop a hill, it was a shack really, one that seemed from a fairy tale. Smoke came from the small chimney, a clothesline just outside where sheets sat drying, the wind gently blowing the grass in an eternal dance. A small dirt trail beaten by time and use led up to this house and on this trail walked a man. He looked saddened for truly he was, this day was an anniversary.

The man's black handmade boots clashed against the serene sight. Along with the man himself. He seemed out of place is this nature, truly because he was. A misfit by every sense of the world. He was part of a project to destroy nature and the Seraph who protected and yet, somewhere along the line, he fell in love with everything that he was to end.

The man's held his head down looking towards the earth to which his mother had returned in mourning, he was dressed in a black sleeveless and ribbed undershirt that exposed the tattoo on his left arm, the symbol burned into him once he cut connections with what he was. His pants were what seemed like sparring pants split between black and white held up by a black belt that would be worn by someone in a full Gi. His mother had made him similar clothing when he was younger and he had only this knowledge of any sort of fashion to go off of when he put together an outfit for himself. His hands were gloved by an odd looking cloth with a white almost armor looking plate on each. In his left hand he held a small bundle of freshly picked flowers tied together by the stem of another.

As the man came to the house he moved towards the right side of it and there, cast in the morning light was a tombstone, it was a rough shape, something that Yang had made with his own hands at the time of her death, The name of his mother and kind words were burned into the tombstone scorched in sadness. Yang kneeled and set the flowers at the base of the stone and looked to it smiling.

"Hello Mother. Sorry it took me so long to get these flowers, I spent hours finding just the perfect ones for you, I hope you like them. I...I have something to tell you Mom."

Yang's faced changed a bit, a look of sorrow creeping over him as he spoke seemingly fighting back tears,

"I-I'm leaving Mom. I'm going to save this world from my brethren, I'm going to return to the city, and end this wretched curse..."

He touched the exposed tattoo on his arm with an exposed finger from his glove. He remembered the day escaping under the cover of night his pain as he squirmed his electronic nature being reprogrammed to prevent them from being found, the burn mark appearing unto himself as tribute to freedom.

"Oh!"

he stated his head rising suddenly and his expression exchanging to an aura more like a person talking to someone who was very well directly in front of him though he was talking to little more than a stone.

"I met someone Mom, she's a Seraph can you believe that? I wish you could've met her. I know how much you loved them. She's kind, and curious...I don't know how humans could hate them... I love you, Mom. I hope to see you soon."

Yang kissed his fingers and placed them softly on the top of the tombstone as the wind blew his bangs askew and the light shone brightly onto him.

※ Wild horses, I want to be like you
Throwing caution to the wind, I’ll run free too

Today, Laurel didn't linger in the village. She didn't stick around for terribly long on most days, but even so, today she was quick to leave. Da was still busy taking care of the horses of the traders from Carsein, and Ma was organizing a group for something to be done in the commitees- she talked about nothing else over all the meals, and Laurel was all too eager to get away from it. There was, of course, pride in her parents being important people, and she tried to care about their affairs, but with no work of her own to see to with the weather seasonably mild, hearing of Syntha's endeavors was tiring. Today, however, it didn't keep her down. Today, she had something to do.

It had been quick work to clear up the dishes, and packing a chunk of bread with cheese, an apple and a handful of nuts in a cloth took little more time. This done, she placed the modest lunch in her small leather pack, beside her cherished drawing pad and drawing things. On her way out of the house, she stopped to carefully clip a single creamy peach rose from the bush avidly climbing the trelise near the back door. She wrapped the stem in a bit of damp cloth, and then, was on her way to Yang's home. The walk was not short, but it wasn't long enough for her to complain of- she was used to the trekking, and the quiet solitude suited her just then. When she had met Yang the weekend prior, he had told her of today; the anniversary of his mother's death. In his typical way, he had spoken of it, somewhere along the lines putting in that he wouldn't mind if she visited. With everyone busy, the desire to be out was strong, and it did not sit rightly with her to let gentle Yang spend his day of mourning alone . . . she only hoped that her company would not be out of place while he mourned this woman whom she had never known.

By the time she began climbing the path to the house atop the hill, he was already outside, sitting beside the grave. There were already flowers laying there- picked by him, she was sure. It brought a soft, sad smile to her face. His mother had been dear to him she knew, but the gesture struck her- there were few flowers of the sort he had collected near this place. He had to have searched carefully to have found them. She walked up just as he kissed the tombstone, standing quietly a few paces back. She hadn't meant to overhear his private conversation with his mother, but she caught, nonetheless his 'I love you' and the tone caught at her heart.

Holding her rose in both hands before her, she spoke up in her usual soft tone, quieted just a bit further by the weight of the occasion.
“I'm sure she's watching, you know.” She said, looking past him to the tombstone for a moment. “I brought this . . . Da says that these roses are for beauty and peace.” She told him, explaining. She was dressed not quite as brightly as usual- all grey, with a bit of black, and some dulled purple trim where inevitable. Bright colors weren't suitable on such a day; it would have been disrespectful. “I thought you might like it.”

"I was made to destroy"
..What's beautiful in this world..."

Yang Kaido User Image

Yang felt her arrive before he was able to see her, he had been so caught up in his talk that he hadn't greeted her properly upon her arrival though. Whenever he was around a Seraph he could always feel their presence, part of his programming he was sure, but instead of feeling the urge to destroy he was always only overjoyed to see them. On this particular day though, not even the sight of the gentle Laurel could quell his sadness.

He braced himself on his knee and pushed off the ground standing slowly and turning to her, she was smaller than him, he hadn't really taken notice upon their first meeting being that she was sitting in an elevated place at that time. Yang's muscular frame seemingly towered over her, not that he was too much taller than her but more of the fact that due to his constant training his body had more mass than most due to his muscular nature. He reached to her with his gloved hands and touched the edge of the rose petal gently valuing it's beauty among all else.

"It is beautiful, I'm sure she would love it"

He retracted his hand and turned from her looking out over the tombstone and into the sky, the next part he was unsure of. Until she came along he had been speaking to someone who wouldn't respond and speaking to someone who could was a bit of a different scenario all together. Yang had made his decision though and he intended to follow it through, after all everything that he wanted to do was only to ensure the safety of the Seraph before him and her people.

"I'm going to leave this place Laurel..."

He attempted to speak as plainly as possible but a hint of sadness had clearly escaped in his voice, after all this place, this beauty was all he had known from childhood, the first happiness he had felt. He knew he was destined to travel back to the city though. Back to the grime and the grit. The sight that humans had created and revelled in. A banished, failure of a project, a misfit, that's all he was in that place. However here, among nature he was a gentle giant. He wasn't sure how Laurel would react, but he knew he had to be steadfast, leaning against the house was a small black sack a white drawstring around its mouth tied and hanging down, all that Yang had packed for his journey. He looked to it, then turned his body slightly so that with a pivoted head he was facing Laurel.

"If I have the power to do so I will make sure that this world that my mother loved so much stays pure."

Laurel gave Yang a small, soft smile that she hoped was comforting, looking up to meet his eyes. “I'm glad . . . I wanted to bring something nice.” She said quietly, stepping carefully past him to lower herself to the ground before the grave. She settled, sitting with her feet folded under her, hands in her skirted lap.The tombstone was rough, with words burned into it's surface by Yang's own hands . . . carefully, she scanned them a moment, laying her rose across the ground before it, a bit farther back than Yang's wildflowers. She bowed her head for a moment, eyes closed in respect as she dwelled sadly on what Yang had told her of the mother he had buried here. Beautiful, and intelligent, he had told her intently . . . to have created him, she had to be. And kind, she thought, remembering his insistence on it. Absent-mindedly, she folded the damp cloth strip that had carried the rose, tucking it into her pack. Her hair hung by her face, and she pushed it back on one side as she turned to meet Yang's gaze while he spoke.

At the statement, her brows drew together, face striken by a mixture of emotions. Worry, and sadness among them . . . Yang had told her himself that he had lived nowhere but here, after leaving the human city. Where was he going? And why now? The wilderness was not friendly to humans and even less so to an Erinyes . . . even seraph took precautions when traveling, depending upon their abilities. Ma and Da had certainly been wary of letting her wander on her own, in the beginning.

“Where are you going, Yang?” She asked, twisting where she sat to look up at him, concerned. “Stays pure . . . what are you going to do?” She asked, stomach starting to clench. Suddenly, she could hear her heart in her ears- Yang was her only real friend, even though he was an Erinyes outcast whom her parents would have surely fordiben, had they known of him. The other kids were always too busy training for the jobs Ma and Da told her she didn't need to worry about, and didn't pay attention to her. Even the teachers who all wrote vaguely fond comments in their reports were never too concerned with Laurel- largely, unless Ma and Da took her out, she was on her own, until she met Yang. He was fascinating, different from all the Seraphim she knew, distinctly tinged with a look that she knew had to be human. He listened to her, was impressed with any little ability she displayed- he asked questions, and listened to her. He wasn't always sensible, but she found she didn't mind looking out for him . . . if he left, who would look after him now? “Alone?” she asked, a dangerous thought niggling in the back of her mind, even as the word passed her lips, soft-spoken as ever.

"I was made to destroy"
..What's beautiful in this world..."

Yang Kaido User Image

She asked questions Yang had no desire to answer. He was fairly sure she would though, it was one of the more likable factors though that she took an interest in his actions. However he almost felt as if this wasn't the time. Yang wasn't particularly good with conflict that couldn't be solved with a sparring session. Even when he and his mother were at odd most times it would be settled by who would win...he never did.

He lifted his to left hand to his abdomen and stared into the open palm the black glove was stretched across his palm. He was sure these cutoff gloves were much too small for him being that they were made back when he was a teenager, but they were a gift from his mother and they were important to him. He clenched the fist and with his other hand covered the burned insignia of his arm.

"Arcadia..."

He spoke looking into the morning sky. The sun was drawing high it must've been approaching noon, the wind blew casually atop the hill Yang's bangs gently wafting in the breeze as he looked upwards a few stray leaves of the changing season drifted between the two. He thought over his next words carefully as his hands dropped to his sides, his fist clenching and muscles tightening. The sound of the glove material tugging in his palm. His conviction was clear as he looked to Laurel

"I will destroy everything that I am...and prevent the humans from finding a way to destroy the Seraph. I will find and eliminate any Erinyes with the mission of corrupting this world. I will end it all, and restore balance to this world. As long as beings like me exist peace can never be ensured. My mother knew this, that's why she left...as for me...I'm a failed experiment...a misfit. It's only here with nature and with you I feel like a complete being...and even here most Seraph would never accept me. So I will do what I can and save this world."

As he finished speaking he reveled in the slight pause before she asked him a question that he had thought as the only possibility. His mother was gone, she couldn't venture back to the city with him, who could go with him, Laurel? she was a Seraph, there was no way she could make it in a city, it was devoid of all things nature and a being as pure as herself should never be forced to see something like that or suffer through it.

"I have to...it's the only way."

“Arcadia . . . the human city.” She whispered, staring wide-eyes into his dark, serious eyes. 'He won't change his mind...She thought, even as the words of protest rose up in her throat. She couldn't tell him not to go, nor that it was too dangerous . . . she couldn't say that he would be at the mercy of the weather, and the animals, and anyone he ran across. She couldn't say that Seraphim, Humanii, and Erinyes all would view him with suspicion if not outright malice. He was stubborn, and set on the quest to save his mother's world . . . nothing that a young, barely-befriended Seraph girl of no real ability could say would change his mind on that.

She frowned as she listened to him, reaching out to touch his palm lightly before drawing it back to pull herself to her feet.
“You don't need to destroy everyhing that you are.” She told him, eyes stormy. “For this world to stay pure and beautiful, as she loved it, it needs more like you . . . guardians. Protectors, who will not his out in the wilds, like so many Seraphim do, even now . . . your brethren who serve men are the failures.” She told him, voice soft, but stubborn faced, lips pinching as she glanced sidelong, hair falling forward slightly, hands loosely laced before her now.

“Most Seraph don't know you . . . ” she added, unable to address the part of his statement regarding her . . . it made her heart twinge. Complete, with her? It unervingly echoed feelings that she did not yet have a voice for, nor even consciously realized. Out in the wilds, helping him, she had a real purpose. Her time wasn't idly wasting away.

“You'll need help to navigate the wild . . . someone to speak to other Seraphs on your behalf.” She told him matter of factly, all reason. “You can't do it alone. Besides, Ma and Da hardly put me to work here . . . there are plenty of others more capable. I'm of the best use, to everyone, if I make sure that you make it there safely.” She told him, speaking as she came to the conclusion. Her eyes cast aside for a slight bitter moment at the comment on her parents, but after that, she quickly forgot the unhappiness of being unuseful in the terrifying thrill of venturing out alone into danger . . . with Yang.

He would need someone to help him read the weather, to navigate the land, and find fresh water . . . . she would be little help with the wild animals, but his strength made her doubt that there would be trouble. Da had taught her all kinds of medicinal plants, and how to handle the wild horses, if only just a little . . . Ma had seen to it that she could barter and negoatiate. He couldn't go into any seraphim settlements to get supplies, or seek aid, nor even directions . . . but posing as a traveler, visiting family, she could. It would be the most purposeful, useful endeavor of her life. Yang needed her help . . . it would be an adventure. Ma and Da meant well, but they were never going to really let her work, she knew . . . . she hated to fight, and the thought of the battles that Yang surely faced made her queasy . . . but someone had to patch him up after and see to his wounds. The thought of him going without medical care was worse, barely, than the thought of witnessing bloodshed. The more she thought, the more she realized that there was no real choice . . . she would go with Yang. She was half way through her seventeenth year, and yet without any real work . . . this was the best chance she would ever get. Joining an outcast to sabotage the humans' plans . . . now or never. Practicality said now, so Laurel met Yang's eyes levelly, collected, as if she discussed everyday matters of housekeeping, or weather and the town, as they so often did.

“I have to come with you.”

"I was made to destroy"
..What's beautiful in this world..."

Yang Kaido User Image

Yang's arm tugged only slightly with the woman's weight pulling her up. At her words Yang could feel a knot rise in his throat, the urge to blink and allow tears to come out. Those were truly words of beauty that brought jubilation to his heart, but he knew that his conviction could not falter. He swallowed down the knot, and closed his eyes for a moment turning his head away from herself to reassure himself that the decision that he was making was the right one.

The began the ideas of a madwoman. Laurel, seemed completely sure that this was the path to take, to follow Yang. This wasn't expected, he was prepared for her to contest the idea and attempt to convince him to stay but what he wasn't prepared for was for her to have the wild idea to go with him. His eyes suddenly opened his fist becoming unclenched in surprise, as she moved back and forth speaking on her plans Yang lightly reached out, more confused than anything else at the moment. Her argument was too convincing to allow little except a gentle gasp escape his lips. How could she travel with him? To a city with humans? He would be putting her in danger, he shook off the thought he would firmly tell her he shouldn't go. Yang let his hand come to his side but not fall lazily. It sat proud as if a soldier, Yang breathed in deep and stuck out his chest as he prepared to tell her off. To shake that crazed idea she had and inform her she would be staying. Right as he went to speak though she looked at him with the same conviction and firmly stated that she had to go with him. All the air in Yang's lungs suddenly left himself left sighing his arms swinging at his side his shoulders slumped over. He regained his posture and turned from her. She was a true friend, or at least, what he thought a true friend was meant to be. Without looking back at her he spoke.

"I-If you're going to come with me then you should definitely be ready. We'll meet back up here in the morning and from there we will go.."

Yang looked to her, once more his serious eyes meeting her own, his intense feeling seemingly coming down with the weight of the world,

"Once we leave...we can't turn back, Laurel"

Laurel's lips curled slightly as she noted Yang's expression. She said nothing, eyes flicking briefly to his face, then away. Somehow, despite his gentle nature, he always found ways to lump himself in with his kin. It both saddened and frustrated Laurel . . . today, more sadness than her usual iritation, because of the emotional nature of the day. Probably, he felt guilt for what his race was going to do . . . and what he himself was meant for. Laurel waited, allowing him his moment to take in her words.

He seemed shocked by her decision . . .hardly surprising, as it was a bit of a surprise to her as well. She gave him a bright smile as he reached out, uncertainly. Calmly, she waited for his protests. They wouldn't be good ones- he couldn't deny his need for her help, nor provide a compelling reason for her to stay. She patted the hand that he stretched out, bending down to pick up her pack after a moment of meeting his eyes. Despite the excitement building in her, she remained outwardly calm. He puffed his chest, and met her eyes . . .and she levels his gaze with her own pale blue-grey eyes, almost like water with a cloudly sky reflected in it. Her face was smooth, serious. Then he caved, and she saw it in his posture. A tiny smile made her eyes sparkle a moment, but she listened carefully, face returning to her usual attentive expression once he began to speak.

“Certainly.” She nodded briskly once. “I'll be here, as early as I can . . . I'll make sure to pack carefully for us.” She told him, all practicality and reason.

She met his eyes, blinking once at the statement, with all it's weight. She considered a moment.
“I know.” She said, completely forward and simple. “There is no need for me here . . . This is my one chance to do something worth while. I won't miss it.” She said, looking away, only to return her gaze to his eyes, meeting it for but a moment.

“No turning back.” She said quietly, a note of finality in her voice. She stared into the distance a moment, eyes serious. When they returned to him, she smiled again, slightly, just a curl of lips below a grave gaze that knew the weight of their exchange.

Yang turned his head forward once more, and looked out over the hilltop he thought at this Laurel would walk away. She would definitely be excited to get away, he couldn't decide whether or not this journey would be more difficult or easier without her. He was honestly very happy that she was going, but now that he had an extra day to prepare he needed to finish some final things as well. He would also need to be sure that he never allowed his mental will to be broken. He needed to remember that he was a monster and his mission was to destroy all like him, even if in the end. He himself was the final kill.
