Cha'Time sighed in relief as he stepped off the boat, that had been a long and harrowing journey for him. While it may have been comfortable for others, the entire trip had been filled with anxiety for him. He was from a tribe of wanderers, he wasn't used to being in enclosed spaces or even to being in the same location for more than a few days. He groaned as he looked out at the city he had been through several cities in Hoenn to get the boat that brought him here, but he still hated cities. The giant stone and steel buildings were unnatural and made him nervous. He took a moment to compose himself before pulling out a hand-made pokeball and released his partner, Kwatoko. The little bird appeared and blinked in the sudden sunlight. " tor chii" he trilled before Cha'Time lifted him and brought him to sit on his shoulder " Come on Kwatoko, thats try to find a way out of this accursed city" he said and squared his shoulders and set off

"Hmm... Zyk, what's next on the shopping list?" Zinnia asked, examining the piece of paper that she held in her hands. Her zubat, Zyk, was in his customary perch on her shoulder. As a zubat, Zyk could not see, and nor could he speak English, but Zinnia still liked to talk to him as if he could.
"I guess I should go buy a few potions, just in case," Zinnia decided. "Let's go to the pokemart!" She altered the direction she had been walking in, but she was distracted by the sounds of the boat entering the dock and unloading its passengers. "Wow!" Zinnia exclaimed. "People who are new to Zatao must be on that ship, Zyk! Let's go say hi! I wonder where they're from!"
She hurried down into the docks, eyes peeled for newcomers. She quickly spotted the most unusual-looking person she could find and headed straight for him. It was, of course, Cha'Time. The combination of his unusual features and his rare pokemon proved to be irresistible to Zinnia's insatiable curiosity.
"Hi there!" she greeted him with a wave. "Are you new here? Did you just come off of that ship? My name is Zin, and this is my zubat, Zyk! Is that your torchic? I've never seen a real one this close before; they're really rare! What's his name? Where did you find him? Where are you from?" She only stopped asking questions when she ran out of breath. She looked up at Cha'Time expectantly.

Cha'Time blinked in surprise as a pale-skinned girl and started rattling off questions at him. Furrowing his brows in concentration he tried to keep track of all the questions and answer the appropriately. " yes i am new, yes i came off the uh.. ship, did you say? My name is Cha'Time and my friend here is Kwatoko, he is not mine in that i own him, he is my partner and friend. He was given to me by my tribe several years ago, and we are from the Hoenn region." he answered each question carefully, his native American accent obvious " I believe i have answered all of your questions yes?" he asked

"No way, I have a lot more questions!" Zinnia exclaimed happily. "But it's good to meet you, Cha'Time! And you too, Kwatoko. And I totally agree with you that we don't own pokemon. Zyk and Shadow are my friends! Well, you haven't met Shadow, but she's not really all that social so I hope you don't mind. Do you and Kwatoko battle? I love battling! Maybe we can battle sometime, but you don't have to if you don't want to! Where are you going to stay now that you're in Zatao? What was Hoenn like? What's your tribe like? I've never met someone from a tribe before. That's so cool!" She allowed herself to ramble on and on, not really paying attention to the things she said. She was just happy to be meeting a new person and making a new friend!
Zyk, meanwhile, was much more reserved. If he'd had eyes, he would've been watching Cha'Time and his torchic very closely. Instead, he chirped continuously, using his echolocation to 'see' the two strangers and keep an ear on their movements. He always had disapproved of Zinnia's tendency to trust complete and possibly dangerous strangers, but at least he was there on her shoulder to survey the situation and keep things from getting out of hand. He was not above using his venom on anyone who threatened Zin!

Cha'Time couldn't help but laugh, he had never met someone with so much curiosity " you have more questions that leave on a tree" he said with a bemused smile " Kwatoko enjoys battle, though i cant say the same for myself." he said then though for a moment " i will travel as i always have." he managed to answer but got lost as she continued to ask questions and ramble on.
Kawatoko eyed the zubat, it seemed a decent sort of Pokemon, watching out for its human as it should. It was Kwatoko's opinion that humans needed a Pokemon to watch out for them. They had, he noticed, a notorious habit for getting into trouble.

"Wow, a traveler, huh?" Zinnia repeated. "I'm a traveler too! Sort of. I do a lot of scouting around, anyway. It's fun to explore, don't you think? I found Zyk and Shadow by exploring! You can find a lot more opportunities by moving around than by staying put, don't you think?" she asked.
Zyk kept an 'eye' on Kwatoko as well by using his echolocation. The torchic was behaving himself at least, and he relaxed slightly, though he kept his wary ears on the strangers.
