Misa opened the door to their large, castle-like house. Just the fact that it looked like a castle was why Misa loved their home so much. As she walked in, she slipped out of her shoes and left them by the door. They weren't too dirty, but she wasn't sure how happy her mother would be to find a light dusting of dirt along her floors.

Misa knew she'd probably have to shower and get her clothes washed, but there wasn't too much dirt on her. Just some tell-tale stains on her legs and a few leaves she'd missed in her hair. So she turned to her brother and said
"Don't worry too much about your shorts. The dirt comes out really easily." She told him, knowing how fond he was of his appearance and his knew shorts.

Misa then turned around and walked up the stairs to her room. She closed her door behind her and set her cardboard tube against the wall. Letting her bag drop onto her chair by her desk, she opened the drawers under her bed and looked for something a bit cleaner to wear. Namely pants. Her shirt was fine. Her pants could use a good brushing off or wash though.

Misa was in a good mood. She'd gotten to talk to her brother. She made her art teacher smile. And she'd finished her lily. All that was left was showing the lily to her mother. Something she was almost tempted to back out of. But she'd promised her teacher she would. So she would.

After changing Misa sat herself on her bed and grabbed Henna. She sat the little squirrel into her lap and smiled softly again. Her door still closed, she started whispering softly to the animal.

Gilton
Gilton took his shoes off as well as he entered his house, his nice, safe, not forest house. He followed his little sister up the steps and turned into his room, dropping his bookback on the floor. He then began to strip down to his underwear. Prepping himself for a shower.

As he washed, he thought intently about what had happened today. He thought, when he woke up, that today was going to be a normal day. But that quickly changed. The water trickled down pass his hair and over his body. He imagined that it was cleaning away all the negatives of the day. He needed to start over, and the water from the shower head would help him do that.

He went back to his room and changed into another set of clothes. This is when he truly began to comprehend his sister's words. A chill went down his spine as he thought about how dangerous her thoughts were. He then made his way to her room, gently knocking on the door. "Cherry..." he called.

Misa had set Henna back on her bed and pulled out the drawing of her lily. After laying it on the floor she had placed a book on each corner to reverse the slight curling affect the tube had had on it. Then she'd pulled out her own art supplies. She hadn't bothered putting the paper on an easel, mainly because she didn't have one. But there was enough room on the floor for another sheet of paper the size of poster board.

She had taken out pretty much all her pencils, colored pencils, and a few fine point pens. She already had the outline done, having started it the week before. Misa wasn't quite sure she wanted to color it. But she had the colors she'd want to the side just encase. Now she was working on the main lines. Going over them in black ink. Well, she'd started at least.

Misa for some reason had gotten a sleepy spell. She'd thankfully capped her pen before deciding to close her eyes for a bit. Normally she laid on the floor anyway as she drew. So she'd already been laying comfortably on her stomach when she'd started feeling sleepy. She'd just laid her head on her hands on the edge of the paper and closed her eyes. Drifting to a gentle, light sleep.

Apparently not light enough. When Gil knocked at her door, she stirred a bit and muttered but didn't wake up. Just drifting back to sleep. If Gil really wanted to talk, he would have to come in and wake her up.

Gilton
He knocked again a little harder. Still there was no answer. Gilton wondered what she could have possibly been doing to not have answered the door. She could have easily been sleeping. Gil had to remember that Misa was still a child, and fell asleep easier than most other kids. He turned the knob and let himself in. He was right, his little sister laid on her stomach on the floor. He sighed at the mess of coloring tools around her, then quickly took the sigh back when he noticed the drawings.

His initial attention went to Misa's drawing of the Lilli-pad. He got down on his knees and stared at the drawing for a few seconds, somewhat amazed. He then looked at the other drawing of the doves. Misa laid on the edge of the paper, but that didn't obscure his view. He looked at his little sister in amazement and disbelief. He leaned over the drawings and nudged his little sister on the shoulder. "Cherry... did you do these?" he asked.

Misa had been going through a strange dream and was in the middle of telling her friend something when Gil woke her up. She jumped a bit, saying randomly "No Sara! Don't touch-" She cut herself off when she realized she wasn't in a dream anymore. She blinked and turned her head, looking up at her brother, playing his question through her head before it connected. Oh.

Misa couldn't help but blush a little, still shy about her drawings. She nodded as she sat up, stifling a yawn.
"Yeah." She told him, looking at him briefly before looking down at the drawing. She smoothed out the small ruffle where her head had been.

"Did you need something?" She asked softly. Absentmindedly she began picking together the pencils and pens. Organizing them. Giving her something to do so she didn't meet her brother's gaze. Still fighting down the shy blush. Misa didn't know why she would be so shy about them, especially around her brother or parents. Maybe she was just scared they wouldn't approve or like them.

Gilton
Gilton jumped back a little as his sister woke up. She startled him a bit, but he kept his gaze on her as she began to pull together her utensils. After she admitted to drawing the pictures Gilton blinked. He couldn't believe that she could do something like this. He then remembered the rumor about the drawing that was floating around school. All this time it was about his little sister. He couldn't believe himself. He was so focused on the negative that he couldn't even see what type of person his sister truly was.

"Forget about that." he said, in response to her question. "Cherry, why didn't you tell me you could draw? This is amazing." he motioned to the drawings. He then went around the drawings and sat next to his sister. he tilted her head up to meet his gaze. "How long have you been able to draw?"

She wanted nothing more than to just sweep them all off of her desk into a trashcan and burn them all. But she couldn't do that, unfortunately. She had a job to do and, as tedious and nerve-racking as it was, she would do it. She had to, to keep her children in the comfortable life they had become accustomed to. She loved them more than life itself, and sometimes regretted being so strict. Not that she was cold or mean, but her rules tended to be tight. She tried to ease up on them when she could, but just the fact that they were her children made it difficult to give them too much lead way. There was no telling what could happen to them because of her position, but she liked to think that the people were content with her.

She wasn't a cruel Mayor, far from it, but she wasn't lenient either. She was as fair as she could be, and as kind as she could be too. But sometimes it was hard to be nice when things needed to be done, especially so when those tings involved actions that could bring pain on a person. Not physical pain, of course, Ripley would never do as some mayors did and send the Peacekeepers to extort money or any such thing. No, she was referring to emotional pain. Such as evicting someone out of their house. Truly it broke her heart every time she had to do things such as that, but it was necessary.

With a long suffering sigh she picked up her pen and began to sign and write documents, the back of her neck burning slightly from a headache threatening to appear. Silently and secretly she wished that someone would some in as a nice distraction. Hopefully one of her children or her husband. She had already given Gilton and Misa permission to enter her office whenever they wanted, as long as she was in there. Ripley did not want the children in there upon her absence, because there were things in there that would very well bother them, and set Misa to crying. There was very little that Ripley despised more than to see her daughter cry. Every time the girl would start, Ripley would spend hours cradling and comforting her until she calmed down. Over the past few years she'd gotten better, but every once in awhile she would break down. Ripley sighed and continued her work, pausing every so often to massage her temples.

Misa wondered what he had wanted when he said forget about it. Of course she wasn't going to forget, but she wasn't going to ask if he didn't want her to. So she just finished pulling together the mess.

At his question, she didn't respond. She knew why she didn't tell him. The same reason she didn't tell anyone. Somewhat of a personal stage fright. Though she knew it probably wouldn't be that easy to explain. So she just shrugged, looking at the drawings.

When he sat next to her and had her look up at him, she fought back the urge to turn away again. Why should she be so shy? About anything. This was her brother after all.
Exactly. A little voice in her head confirmed. She mentally sighed. At his next questions, she did look away. But not down. She looked around, at the pictures on the floor and the various hiding placing of her other art.

"A...A while now. Maybe a couple years or so." Okay that wasn't a total lie. It had been a while since she got into drawing. Maybe a bit longer than a couple years. She couldn't really remember when she first actually started. Misa guessed it was before she started writing. So maybe around four or five years. She'd come a long way, that was for sure. She still remembered her first sketches. They had been impressive for her age. But compared to what she could do now, it was like comparing cave art to Monet. Completely different

One of her probably favorites, that the lily actually came second to, was another book she kept hidden. Same spot as her journal but it was a different book all together. Yet no one but her and Henna ever saw it, just like her journal. It was a book of sketches. Of people. Mainly her family and friends. There was one she kept on the last page, one she guessed she'd never complete. It was a sketch of herself. She could never quite get it write. Then again, she wasn't too photogenic. Most of the others were just head shots, actually, all of them were. She wasn't the best at full body. But she was getting there.

Gilton
Gilton turned away from his little sister and back to the drawings. He couldn't believe he didn't know about this sooner. He looked around them at the remaining art supplies that littered the floor. He quickly remembered the times when he and his family would go out shopping. The times Cherry would ask for a simple box of coloring pencils. He thought she just wanted them to color in one of the books they gave to the preschoolers at their school. He never imagined anything close to this.

Gilton couldn't thank of anything creative he was good at. The only things that came to mind was bossing people around and public speaking. He'd always watch his mother anytime she gave a speech to the district. Or watch the president on television. He could easily imitate their persona. Embody a personality of authority. Someone worthy of speaking in front of a crowd. He had a way with words as well. He could convince a snail to buy salt. He was class president in the fourth grade, even if he demanded that homework be turned in early if not on time. But that's simply because he knew how to make his words relate to what the people wanted to hear.

But he didn't have one creative bone in his body. Nothing close to his sister. Maybe because he was too logical a thinker. What ever it was, he knew if he even tried to draw a stick figure, he'd fail miserably. He turned to his sister, a weird type of sparkle in his eye. "What else have you drawn?" he asked, remembering just how dangerous his sister's mind was.

Misa looked down at the dove drawing in front of her. She lightly traced her finger over one of the lines of the vine. She thought about his question a bit, turning it over in her mind. For some reason she felt like there was a string attached to the question where there shouldn't have been. Then she began to wonder why there would be. There was no reason to be so she sort of pushed the suspicion to the side.

"Uh mostly scenery, plants and animals. Stuff like that." She had told him the truth, so she didn't really feel guilty. She planned on keeping her personal hidden book just that. Personal, hidden, a secret. That had been one hiding spot she hadn't glanced at when she'd looked around the room. Rather she'd just looked over it like it wasn't there.

When Misa looked up to her brother again, away from the doves and vine heart, the suspicion returned. What was that look in his eyes?
"What?" She asked, trying to keep a light frown from coming across her face. Misa couldn't quite read the look in his eyes. Was it genuine curiosity? Or suspicion? She wasn't sure.

She shifted on her knees that were folded under her. She felt something against her skin that didn't belong there. She reached down and pulled out the charcoal pencil and saw the tip was broken. She bit back a sigh and placed it beside the other pile of pencils but to the side a little. She'd sharpen it later.

Gilton
Gil thought about this for a second. Maybe she wasn't drawing the types of things he secretly accused her of. He looked down at the two drawings on the floor, then back at his sister. No, there was no way she could possibly draw any of the morbid things his mind came up with. Still, after today there was something about his little sister, that made him worry for both his and her life. He almost felt foolish for feeling this way, but he couldn't help it.

He stood up and looked around the room, nothing seemed wrong. She didn't seem to be hiding anything. He then looked back down at the drawings and then back at his sister. Why scenery? Why animals? What was so special about wild life that she had to draw it. Was there something deeper? Was there a secret message within the drawings that he couldn't seen to find. He shook his head and chuckled. Today had been a long day, and he was hungry and tired. "Nothing." he said as he made his way over to her door. "Have fun drawing." he said as he made his way out.

Misa narrowed her eyes slightly as her brother stood and made his way out. Was that a mocking tone in his voice? Or honesty? She doubted the latter. She felt a strong vibe of distrust from him. It bothered her deeply. What did he think she was doing? Plotting against the Capitol? She may dislike the people that ran their country, but she wasn't stupid and evil. She was just trying to draw for heaven's sake!

Standing, Misa went over to the door after Gil walked out. She paused, a hand on the door. She didn't know what she was doing before she leaned forward and whispered just for Gil to hear before he walked too far
"Scenery doesn't kill. Animals don't hate." Very softly. Then she leaned back and closed the door. Locking it. Why'd she just do that?! She'd just tried to show Gil inside her head earlier and gain his trust. Now she doubted she would be able to leave his sight without him asking her where she'd been when she got back.

Sighing, she walked back over to her bed. She knelt on it and pulled the window open. Needing fresh air again. When she felt the soft chill of the air, she drew a breath and went back to the doves and heart. Laying back on her stomach, she picked the pent back up and went back to going over the lines where she'd left off when she'd fallen asleep. While in her head she thought about what she had heard in Gil's voice and seen in his eyes. Something wasn't right there. That much was obvious.

Gilton
Gilton was halfway to his room when he heard a faint whisper coming from behind him. He paused and took a deep breath. Fear lined his face. His sister didn't just say what he thought she said, did she? His breathing stopped for a few seconds. He turned around in time to see his sister retreat into her room. He eyes went wide. Why would she say something like that? Did she want to get their mother fired? Did she not like the life she lived now?

He didn't bother to go knock on her door. For the first time in eleven years, Gil has seen the undeniable truth that was his sister. He began to back to is room, not wanting to become a part of what she was. "You're dangerous, Misa..." he said in a hushed stained voice, as he backed into his room. Closing and locking the door behind him.

Misa half sighed half groaned and dropped her head to the floor, hitting her forehead. Pain shot up to the back of her head, making her groan again but she stayed with her head like that. Yup, she'd just lost it. It was official. Gil thought she was an evil little girl. Great.

With another sigh, she closed the pen again and set it down. Standing, she walked over to her bed and knelt down between her desk and the small white door to under her bed. Originally it had been made for toys or other storage. But Misa Everette didn't have toys or stuffed animals. Well, besides Henna. She opened the little door and paused. Reaching up, she grabbed Henna from the bed and crawled into the small compartment and closing the door behind her. She'd put in a hand made 'lock' on it. On the inside of the wood, a little 'arm' of wood, bolted into a hole in the door opening. Could only be opened from the inside.

Several years ago, she'd taken out most of the shelves that were on the sides of the compartment. Only one remained, near the top. Which was about a foot and a half off the ground. There wasn't much in her little compartment. A couple pillows for where she laid or sat. Some pencils. And a little lamp on the shelf. The shelf held two things. The lamp, and a box. Probably something she treasured the most.

It had been given to her as a gift. Not something that had been passed down by the family. But one of her teachers a few years ago. The woman had been like a second grandmother to her. Misa had cried for days when she passed away. Now she had one thing left of the woman. The Music Box. Misa suspected her mom knew about it. But it was something else she never showed anyone.

Turning on the lamp, a hue of gold filled the compartment. The lamp was angled at the box to reflect into the rest of the space. Setting Henna down on the shelf next to the lamp, she opened the lid of the box and pulled out a normal pencil and a leather bound book. After setting them in her lap, sitting on one of the pillows while her back was against the wood of the compartment. She closed the box and opened a smaller lid on top. When she did, a little red bird rose from a hole.

She settled back and opened the journal. There was plenty of space in there to comfortably fit about three of her. She flipped to a sketch of her brother and looked it over. As the music started to play, she started on the sketch again. She didn't have his eyes in yet. So that's where she began.

Unlike other music boxes, this one had two songs. Two songs she loved. She didn't know who they were by. But she didn't care. The first one made her feel better always. The second made her heart clench. Even if there were no words with it. Just the instrumental mixes. The second song would either make her cry with sad memories. Or happy ones. She could listen to them forever if she had the time.

{lol sadly I can't help love he thinks she's this twisted little eleven year old x3 I'm thinking of her being unknowingly bipolar or something. Would that make sense? Or work? And I'm sorry about that last part but I couldn't resist >.< thought it fit her}
