Okay. One more time. Candace hopped on her toes a bit before running at the training dummy again, leaping off one foot with her hands extended in front of her. She caught herself on her hands and pushed, getting a little ambitious and attempting to spin herself.

She missed the target, landing on her back on the ground and cursing. Damnit! She'd get this! She could do this! She was the goddamn captain in high school for a reason! She kept herself fit, limber, and..damnit! Fighting was different from doing stunts.

She needed help. Candace sighed and stayed there on the ground, her knees bent with her feet flat on the ground and an arm lifted to rest over her face. "I won't give up, Atropos. Don't worry." She just needed someone who understood this kind of movement...hadn't Jerry told her someone here could dance?

"You got no form on you, ho."

What a way to say hello, Robert. He'd walked into the training facility, took one look at the b***h who was working with the dummy, and thought up about a million insults - but when she saw her jump for it, he winced in professional dismay.

"Your footwork is sloppy and you're not using all the strength your legs can afford. I'm sure your legs are real strong." From all that ********, amiryte.

Who the <********> just called her a ho? Candace grimaced and sat up to look back at Robert, her eyes narrowed and her lips set in an irritated pout. The hell did that mean?! There...there was no way he...no. No, no. She was silent about she had done with the doctor. Even if Robert was a life hunter there was no way he could know. He was just being an a**.

She blew a bit of hair out of her face and pushed up to stand, being careful not to cut her own shins with Atropos' blades. He actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about...huh. "Well, considering it's been..." She counted on her fingers. "Almost five years since I did anything like that? I'm...not surprised." Candace couldn't help but chuckle and roll her eyes. Always with the legs. "If I had a nickle for every time someone has complimented my legs lately I'd be so rich right now."

Candace suddenly seemed to remember something. Robert! He really sounded like he knew what he was talking about! Jerry! Right! "You're a dancer." It wasn't a question.

Robert's eyes opened wide when she called him out on being a dancer, and within minutes Jezebel was fully summoned and in his hand.

"WHO THE ******** TOLD YOU THAT?" He roared. Oh. Okay then.

"Wow, touchy." Candace stepped back away from the life hunter, eyes narrowed. "The hell is your problem? You being a dancer is great." It meant he could help her! But apparently not if he was going to flip his s**t about it.

Robert waved his weapon at her threateningly for another minute, before putting the tip down on the ground and holding it straight up beside me. "Look, Candyass. I wanna know who told you, and I want you to promise you won't ********' go around telling people I dance. Okay? PROMISE. Or else I'll kick your a**, and I don't mind doing it either. Trust me."

His eyes narrowed, as he glared at her cautiously. "What's so good about being a dancer, to you, anyhow?"

Damn! He was so touchy! Candyass was a new one though, she had to admit. "If I tell you, are you going to go beat them up? Because I don't think I can let you do that." She grinned even as he threatened her, tapping her foot. Kick her a**, huh? Why wouldn't he mind? What had she ever done to him?

"I'd like to see you try." Was that a challenge? Oh yes it was.

Did he seriously need to ask why she wanted a dancer. She rolled her eyes. "You've got no form on you, ho." Candace said in a blatant mocking mimicry of the man before her, even lowering her voice. It sounded nothing like him but she didn't care. "And ho? Seriously?" He didn't seem to like her right now. She honestly could not think of why. She hadn't done anything to him!

"I won't tell anyone...if you beat me in a fight. Teach me how to have a better form and your secret is safe." In all honestly Candace wouldn't tell anyone. She thought it was stupid that something like this needed to be kept secret, but considering how he was apparently so easily enraged about it she would at least keep it to herself. But he didn't know this.

Ohhh you sneaky little thing! I like it! Atropos cackled. Candace smiled, waiting patiently for some kind of agreement from Robert before she did anything.

As careful as Candace was about keeping her pronouns neutral, there was only one person she might even possibly care about enough to protect. He rolled his eyes - had he even really needed to ask? Who else knew, other than Petra, and she most definitely did not tell Candace anything.

The mockery of his voice actually cracked a smile on his face - but it disappeared almost instantly when he remembered what she had done to the boss. His hand clenched and unclenched on the hilt of his weapon anxiously - if she was itching for a lesson, and he was itching to kick her a**..

Clearly they wanted the same thing.

"All right. Fine. I can do that. Only 'cause that means you'll be better in a fight, and won't put Jerry in danger. Stupid ******** is so soft for you, he'll probably throw himself in front of a bus to keep your shoes clean." His words were almost spat out - not friendly at all.

"Get up here. Couple of feet away from me. Good. Now spread your feet until they're parallel to your shoulders, and come at me."

"Good. Then it's settled." But he continued on to explain why he was agreeing to this. Her expression went from pleased to unhappy in an instant. Yeah, he was real stupid to be soft for her of all people. She looked away for a second, pursing her lips and closing her eyes. Keep calm, keep calm. Don't snap at him. "...You're right. He probably would." Candace finally managed, raising her arms high above her head to give her back a nice stretch before dropping them back down again. "But, you see...I'd like to make sure he never has to~." It was amazing and all but she really could not handle seeing him almost get himself killed. Not ever again.

She actually looked a little surprised he was actually giving her tips, doing as he said. She stepped up closer, spread her feet apart, kept her weight even...and then came at him.

And she missed. She had tried to start with just her usual, basic hit. But she missed. Candace stumbled and hopped back away from him. Damnit. "..Hang on." She pat down her coat for a moment until she found the pocket she put her iPod in, raising her headphones from around her neck to cover one ear with them. She turned the music on and turned the volume at a level that let her hear Robert while still clearly hearing the beat of the music.

Much better.

Robert easily evaded her attack, and straightened back up again. He'd just expected her to try again, not put on some music.

"You know, not that I have anything against fighting to music, but you gotta remember that you may not have the time or even a working iPod when the real thing comes."

He twirled his batleth in one hand, took a few steps to gain some speed, and leapt into the air, performing a frighteningly beautiful spin as he came down on her. The batleth slammed it's blunt middle into her stomach, bringing her down with the weight of his fall.

And the tip of his batleth was a hairsbreadth away from cutting the cord on her iPod.

"Plus, I can't hear it. I like music too, you know."

"It helps me concentrate." Candace replied simply, looking through her playlist a moment. She was well aware she wouldn't have time for this later, it was why she didn't bring her headphones or her iPod with her on their missions, but the music helped with training. She did hum when she fought for a reason.

Unfortunately that turned out to be a stupid idea. He slammed against her stomach and she hit the ground, landing flat on her back with a grunt. She deserved that. What displeased her about this was that he almost cut the cord. Ah, so that was it. He wanted to hear it! She smirked and pulled the headphones down so they were around her neck, turning the volume up completely. It was a bass-filled dubstep song, one she found oddly fitting for training. "I have other stuff if this isn't your speed." She shrugged before finally bringing her foot up to kick him in the gut. A stomach hit for a stomach hit. She was even nice enough to use the bottom of her foot and not the blade.

She pushed and leaned back after that, tugging the wire of her headphones away from his blade before shoving Robert away with as much force as she could when purposely sending herself tumbling backwards head over heels. Candace rolled and jumped back to her feet, eyes narrowed.

"But next time? Threaten to cut that wire and you're dead." She didn't have another pair!

Robert grunted as he was pushed back, sliding on the balls of his feet as his fingertips touched the ground, before he regained his balance. He grinned up at her predatorily, all those teeth showing, and stood back up.

"Not what I usually listen to, but I can dance to anything, honey."

He normally enjoyed a nice, clean fist fight if he wasn't going to use his weapon in a spar, but with a lady.. especially one that called him out on his dancing skills..

Robert was having a moment.

He turned on his heel, moonwalked backwards, and bumped right into her with a swiveling arm to the chest.

Let's hope there are no security cameras in this room.

Now that was a fun grin. Was he having fun yet? Candace smiled sweetly right back at him, her music turned up to its full volume so they could both hear it clearly. "Can you? I don't know. I have yet to see any dancing out of you, man." Of course it seemed she'd spoken too soon! He suddenly moonwalked and she just...she almost couldn't contain herself. Robert. Was. Moonwalking. She laughed until his arm slammed against her chest, grunting and glaring at the life-trainee.

She spun around to get behind him, jabbing her elbow against the middle of his back before she leaped away. She wasn't a dancer, but she was apparently not a bad dirty fighter, and she knew how to spin and jump at the very least. Though she had barely hit him with that one. That was just sad.

Robert felt the sting of a thin elbow ramming into his back, and laughed even as it stung. He turned around and grabbed her arm, pulling her closer just to lift her off her feet. "You wanna see me dance?" He swung her around, humming a rather fanciful tune, before letting her slide right out of his arms and onto the floor.

"Gotta pay for it."

He picked her up and she very nearly punched him in the face. No one picked her up without a warning. No one. But he threw her away before she could so much as wind up for it. "s**t!" She stumbled and nearly fell over as he let her slide away, holding her arms out at either side of herself to keep her balance. Pay, huh? "Alright." She'd pay.

Candace hummed along with the beat of the music playing from her headphones before taking a step back, suddenly grinning again as she started with a run. A run, a hop, a step and...yes! She found it! She pushed off her own hands, bringing one leg down at Robert and then the other. Sure, it was harder for her to get around him with him being so big but she point is she hit him! Ha!
