Waa’sesere huffed a little as the vine didn’t do as she wanted it to, slipping from her paws before she could secure it around the shiny piece of metal that she had found. It had been attached to some weird looking skeleton but clearly it wasn’t using it, so she had taken it. It would make a beautiful necklace though, so she fought hard with the vines to get it to attach properly.

“Curse you, vines!” She blurted out in irritation as they refused to bend to her will, scowling at it with irritation

Mon’kut chuckled, ducking his head in order to hide it from the female, lest he get smacked for laughing at her. “Are you sure you don’t want help, Waa?” He asked, trying to be polite. The look he got in return threatened death if he offered again, so he just shook his head and turned back to gazing at the landscape lazily. They had stopped near a forest’s edge, shaded by the trees and safe from the sun’s warm gaze for a little while.

"Shiny! SHINY?!? Shiny were did you go?!" A panicked voice said in a rush that made it sound like shinyshinyshinyweredidyougo. Before Mon'kut could react a blur of green shot by. It would take a moment for the blurr to slow long enough to see it was a harrid looking young male cheetah. "nooo my shiny! Where have you gone?!"

Waa ignored that irritating voice that was trying to distract her. No! She would not be distracted, she had to finish her craft project. That was part of the reason she had allowed Mon to come with her on her travesl, to protect her from the things she couldn't be bothered with. She trusted that he would, and if not, well, then she'd need to get a different guard.

Mon blinked in surprise at the green blur and he jumped to his feet, in case it was a threat, but it seemed to be just a panicked cheetah. "Are you alright?" He asked, stepping forward, his brows furrowed in confusion and some worry. Had he lost something important?

Blue eyes reguarded him sadly, "My Shiny. I lost my shiny..." The poor thing looked as if he were about to burst into tears any second.

Mon's eyes widened at the saddened look of the male cheetah. Oh no, don't cry, he thought suddenly. He hated tears, especially on girls, but this younger male cheetah would be just as bad he though. "I'm sorry! What does it look like, perhaps we can help you look?" Mon tried to soothe.

It drew a grumpy look from Waa, and a dull look that said only Mon would be looking for the lost Shiny, not her. She glanced down at the shiny metal she was working with, then back up at the male cheetah...perhaps this was what he'd lost? She frowned. Well, unless he asked for it, she wasn't giving it back! Finders keepers and all that rot.

"Well it's shiny." He blinked at them then squeaks immedatly zooming to Waa's side. "Oh my god! Oh my god! Pretty shiny, not my shiny but a pretty shiny. Can I smell? Oh so pretty!" he immedatly tried to smell the metal she was trying to get.

Waa's eyes went wide and she almost jumped back at the sudden approach of the cheetah. "Uh, sure?" She said, her voice and expression showing that she thought he was crazy. She ignored that look that Mon sent her, warning her to be nice. The creature was obviously crazy.

"you like shiny things?" Mon asked, chuckling at teh childish attitude of the male cheetah, ignoring Waa's distressed and rather insulting looks towards the lad.

He danced from foot to foot then blinked looking up at Mon again a bright smile on his face, "Oh I love shinies! They are so pretty and nice. My shiny is the nicest of all."

Mon smiled at the boy. He was like a cub really...how odd. "I'm sure Waa wouldn't mind giving you the shiny she has, to tide you over until you find your shiny," he said, shooting Waa a look that said she had better follow along.

Waa bristled in annoyance at Mon's attempt to control her, but the lad was rather happy about the shiny. She had been going to give it away once she'd put it on the vine necklace anyway. She'd actually been planning to give it to Mon, so he was only giving away his own future gift. Rolling her eyes, she nodded. "Sure, if you want it," she said, not sounding too thrilled about it, but then again, she never really sounded too thrilled about things.

The bright smile he gave them was as sweet as any cubs, "no no I couldn't take your shiny. I just must find my shiny, I am forever loosing it. " He heaved a sigh that from anyone else would be over-blown and dramatic.

Waa was pleased that he'd turned it down, but rolled her eyes again. "Then keep a better hold on it," she suggested. "Shiny things get snatched up, you might lose it forever if your not more careful." She returned to her craft, already dismissing the male and Mon. He'd gotten on her bad side, trying to give away her crafts without her permission.

Mon realised he was going to be ignored by Waa for a while, but smiled at the male. "I'm sure you'll find your Shiny again soon. Shiny things are easy to spot at a distance at least." He grinned.

"Oh it's the Shiniest!" Chen sighed sadly, "But Shiny keeps disappearing then coming back! I worry."

Mon tilted his head, mildly curious. "What is your Shiny?" he asked, "how does it go away?" He made it sound like he was talking about something alive, but alive things weren't that shiny...were they? Odd. Very odd.

Waa glanced up, similarly confused by how the male spoke

Chen blinked, "Oh! Shiny is my bird.Only I didn't know he was a bird at first. I just found a big shiny rock and later it hatched. He was kinda ugly then and not shiny, but his feathers grew in and he was sooo SHINY!!" He wiggled happily. It was amazing to think this hairbrained creature could be trusted to raise a little one but apparently he had

"Ooooh," Mon chuckled. "A bird. Well, birds have to fly around, so I'm sure he'll come flying back though." He had been so sure that the shiny had been a trinket or something, to hear it was a bird made...slightly more sense.

Waa glanced up, honestly surprised. "You didn't kill it trying to raise the thing?" Wow,that was surprising...she'd probably have eaten it after a while. The only pet she wanted was a monkey, that way they could help with crafts.

Chen looked utterly horrorfied at her, "OH MY GOD! Kill Shiny?!No!! Shiny is my friend." The look he gave the female said clear as day she was a horrible, horrible person.

Waa didn't particularly care that he thought she was a horrible person, she just shrugged. "It's just a bird," she muttered, returning to her crafts.

Mon shot her an annoyed look, before trying to soothe the male. "She was just joking, I'm sure. She's just playing a nasty joke. Of course you wouldn't kill shiny." He smiled at the male calmingly

Suddenly there was a loud chirping sound from behind him in the trees, "Chen? Come along sweetie." If Mon squinted her would get the impression of bright feathers. Chen squealed happily and was off like a shot "SHINY!!"

Mon blinked, having seen a small collection of bright feathers, but the male was off after it soon enough. He shook his head, obviously bemused, before glancing back at Waa. "What an odd creature," he mused, but was smiling. He settled himself back down into his spot, content to rest for a while longer.

"Everybody is odd," Waa muttered, still focused on her crafts. "Now shhh! I need quiet."
