The pumpkin sun was high in the grey sky and it was about as bright as it got in Halloween. Most students were enjoying the weather, those who weren't traumatized by recent events of course. A musty breeze blew through his feathers as Muka perched, napping in a tall tree. His doze was on and off and occasionally he would crack one large eye, scan his vicinity, and then slip back off to sleep.

That was until he heard something familiar. It was the sound of something small snuffling around the base of the tree. he could keenly hear each little paw hit the ground, stirring up dried leaves ad then eventually flopping over to roll in them. His beak cracked with glee, his tongue darting out into the air a bit in anticipation of the delicious meal he was about to have.

He shuffled out onto a branch, positioning himself behind the small grey creature. His wings extended as he prepared to swoop.

Lucky for both of the boils Muka didn't know what a gimblewolf was. He was rather sheltered and the world of monsters was so vast. What he did know was that the world of minipets was also vast and seeing one in headphones wasn't exactly a strange sight.

The strix's beak clacked one and he let out a satisfied hiss. His feet shuffled left, right and with the silence of a master predator he swooped down upon what he thought was his next meal.

Despite his silence the other would notice the massive shadow descending as well as the grasping talons.

Muka swiped at the empty spot in the grass where the little morsel had just been. His talon caught on a tree root and his perfectly planned attack went out the window. The large owl tumbled into the grass, doing his best to pop back up but he wasn't as good on his feet as he was in the air.

He hopped around the grey-thing snapping his beak menacingly. His size pretty much pegged him as a student because animals that large didn't usually appear on campus. He didn't transform though because it just wasn't as much fun hunting as a boil (and people looked at you strangely).

The owl stopped, hopped back, and blinked. It was partly because the tiny creature's face split completely open and partly because it was talking to him. The owl stared, stared and stared some more and then began to laugh hysterically. His wings clutched around his owl belly and he fell over in the grass, rolling.

There were snapped sounds, sinew stretching noises, and where the owl was there was now a boil rolling around and laughing so hard that tears were coming from his eyes. He would have answered the questions... but then he started to hack.

"HahahahaHURRRKhahahaHURK.." He was on all fours now, holding up his finger in a 'give me a minute'. He scrambled behind the tree and there was a gross 'splorching' noise. By the time he joined the tiny creature again he was nothing but chuckles and wiping his eyes.

Muka blinked unevenly at the skinny boil in front of him. "Hello! So sorry about that!" He giggled again, held his stomach, paused, then relaxed again. Seemed the urge to hack had passed.

"I thought you were a snack! HOW SILLY OF ME!" He brushed himself off and stood up, not liking to mess up his clothes if he could help it. "I've never seen your species before."

Muka, of course, took this as an invitation to join the other boil for a walk! "Yes snack.. you do know what that is correct? Are you foreign? I've never met a foreigner before. I mean you are soooo small. And cute.. and del.." His small amount of common sense stopped him in the middle of saying 'deliciously plump'.

"I'm Ulmuka." He giggled and thrust a taloned hand toward the boy, though it was awkward while walking swiftly to keep up with him. "I'm a strix."

Lucky for the strix he had large wings so every time Neil would pull ahead he would fly himself in a big hop and land right next to the other. "Hmmm gimblewolf. VERY INTERESTING." He nodded and chuckled. "Does your face do that... thing even as a boil?" Muka still stared, craning his neck and tilting his head to see if he would do it.

"What's a t**t?" He chittered.

"OOoOoOOOOooo" The strix clapped loudly when the boil's face split open. "Scary!" Ulmuka was one of those people who liked to verbally express feelings without seeming to be affected by them. He certainly didn't seem scared of the gimblewolf's natural talent, despite his exclamation of it.

He did sense the difficulty that Neil gave him when inquiring what a 't**t' was. he had enough common sense not to press the matter but filed it away perhaps to ask someone else.

"Well good then. Are you new here? I am new. I sincerely apologize for trying to eayt you. It is a bit funny though isn't it?" He snickered again at the fresh memory. "I mean.. if you were me, wouldn't it be funny?" The strix continued to follow, even with the changes in direction, bobbing and fly-hopping when the taller boil sped ahead of him.
