Bix had stepped out of his dorm with the intention of training and simultaneously so did his neighbor. He and Cass turned at the same time and almost smacked heads. There was a moment of them laughing (haha we are so dumb) followed by pleasantries (how are you whats up) followed by where they were headed. Coincidently they were headed to the same place and so the friends ended up there together, at the same time, and naturally since they had yet to battle it was the natural assumption. "Who have you battled?" Bix inquired as he summoned his bow. The wind was a bit strong today and he noted he had to take that into account when firing his arrows. He was trying not to blurt out that he'd battled Marcus days earlier and he was pretty bad with secrets. Keep you mind off of it. He told himself. Jack, just tell her.No what if she gets mad?Who cares. YOU WON.Bix instead busied himself with a little bit of eenie-meenie to decide which of them would start. [[ rolling initiative ]]

They really were the silliest neighbors to be had, what with Cass trying to evil-robot speak through the walls and how any seriousness she had practically left in his company. So really, it was a battle of convenience, rather than either of them calling each other out for EPIKKU BATORU or whatever it was.
Cass was quiet as she summoned the dual-wielded weapon, testing her grip on both the gun in one hand and the blade in the other, giving it a testing swing to feel out her shoulder. "Well, I've only really battled with three other people right now; Marcus, Davey, and Caelius. Might I add that Caelius wiped the floor with me? That week I spent groaning and dead in my room was from the bruises he gave me. Serious bruises, man. That guy doesn't hold back. I looked like a ********' dalmation with all the black spots." She took a moment to pull up the side of her shirt to show off one bruise that was still green from healing.
"All over. Nearly broke one of my ribs. It was intense."
She grinned widely, completely oblivious as to the nature of the previous spar that Bix had with a certain apple-of-Cass's eye.

Bix had been silently moving his finger back and forth as she spoke. "Miney-MO. You go first." He nodded and back up but grimaced when he saw her ribs. "EW Jeezus why would you think it's a good idea to fight Caelius and PUT YOUR SHIRT DOWN. There's perverts out here." Ones that weren't him but he had kind of been more brotherly to her, hence his outburst. "I only battled 3 people too. Gale, one of the newbs Eva and..." he paused and in his brain MARCUSMARCUSMARCUS went through. "No wait.. I battled Gale twice." Nice cover. "Turns out Eva likes horror games.. You should hang out with her." He rolled his shoulders a bit and readied for the impending attack.

"He called me out, man." Cass explained as she resettled her shirt into its previous position. "You don't ignore that summon. I took five extra minutes to get there and he was livid about it. Can you imagine if I hadn't shown up at all? He would have killed me." Cass shuddered a bit, but as it seemed their little battle's start was on her, she stopped her rambling about it.
"Eva, mm? I'll have to drop in on her some time." she noted thoughtfully, before moving in with her blade and swinging with it, rather quick on her feet, though for how long that would remain to be seen at that time.
Her stamina was never the best.HP: 40/40 Damage: 10-6 = 4 Charge: N/A

Bix hopped back but he wasn't fast enough to avoid full damage. He took off in the direction that he dodged. Cass may not have seen him in action lately but he'd been working on his movement. His endurance was slowly getting better but he was at least working on running, dodging and firing at the same time. "I guess.. ahhh..." he rubbed the sliced clothing. "I guess you don't ignore it. Last time I went for a mission it turned into that golem thing. I guess I should go back and try again." Hopefully Caelius wouldn't try to fight him. He quick fired two arrows but he'd been sloppy. They struck the ground hear her feet. At least he would keep her on her toes! HP: 36 / 40 Damage: Miss

Cass grinned, actually rather pleased that she hadn't landed in a full-strike on the other hunter as he moved away from her. Cassandra, watch yourself. Nicodemus warned in her head as she moved away, avoiding being struck by the arrows fired back at her.
"Hey, that was a pretty hefty mission though, don't feel too bad about it. I haven't had a personal mission...yet..." she seemed confidence she'd get one soon enough, whether or not she succeeded at it remained to be seen, but given the distance between the pair at that time, she knew better than to just charge in with the blade again, instead opting for the gun in her other hand.
That wasn't to say she didn't still move forward, but she ran in firing. If nothing else, Cassandra Norris did not waste time when she attacked... or Nicodemus was aiming for her. Whichever.HP: 40/40 Damage: 12-6 = 6

Bix! Bullets!"s**t!" Bix ducked but he could feel the impacts hitting him and absorbed by his FEAR shield. So far he was impressed with Cass and he was currently on the run from her. "Do any.." He paused speaking to fire off another couple shots. "..of the course things yet?" His arrow did nothing but skin her cheek. She was dodging him easily! HP: 30 / 40 Damage: 1

"Done and passed all of them." Cass replied, "I practically walked casually through the Mist Tower." she added, perhaps slightly boastfully. Hey, if she got Peen-points for it, she was going to take 'em where she could get 'em man. Still, she gave chase, even as the arrow soared past her, making a point to get up-close and personal as she swung again, though light-heartedly, no malice in her attacks.
She was just trying to be a 'real' hunter, as it was.

"Oh Awesome!" Bix was impressed. "I only did Shadow Run. I did okay though." He was now determined to do all the other courses. He wanted Peen-points dammit! He oofed as her quick swing gashed into his side. Of course with the beauty of FEAR sheilds it slipped free of him and he was uninjured. It always boggled his mind watching himself get stabbed. Bix then tumbled to the side, rolling head over feet and once more popping up to fire on her. His arrow stung the hand holding her sword. "Have you hung with any of the freshies?" Bix now would enter the 'ask Cass whats up with her life cause they hadn't hung out in a while' phase of the convo/battle. HP: 25 / 40 Damage: 2

"Shadow run took me three times to do, it's pretty tough. Jerry and I did a run together after that though and he kicked some pretty good a** at it! I'll do a run with you sometime though if you'd like."
It'd be as close to 'hanging out' as the neighbors got a lot of the time.
"Mostly just Aleister, he's a pretty chill guy. A bit rough around the edges, but I'll beat him into shape." It was probably funny to hear a girl who was one of the youngest hunters, on top of hit herself in the face with a door in introduction, say such things, but...she was becoming capable, if nothing else. "I need to work on meeting more of the new blood after the..impression.... us oldies left on 'em."
She laughed a bit, though it was awkward - it gave inclination that she was uncomfortable somehow with it all.
Still, her sword-hand throbbed so she stepped back, bringing the gun back up again, firing, but it seemed even her own impeccable hits thus far wouldn't stand up for long.HP: 37/40 Damage: Missed!

"How weird was that?" Bix responded to her strange expression when discussing the bad impression left on the newbs. "I thought all that stuff from our trial was over and done with.." Bix was glad her gunshot missed because he had to pause a moment to catch his breath from dodging. He let another arrow fly in her direction but it zinged past her head when a gust of wind took it. A frown... he was SUCKING today! "Then these freshies turn up and our crew starts to fight?" He frowned again. "I didn't have any idea that Leon and Jerry had issues.. but I guess I don't know them well." He and Leon jogged together, occasionally doing some boxing things, but he wouldn't say they were close. "That was the most riled up I've ever seen Leon." Like Bix, Cass also did some working out with the boxer, so it was....questionable to see him suddenly flip his s**t on anybody. He'd always seemed relatively collected to her. "Frankly, I think we all need some group therapy or something. Make people write angry letters to each other to get their 'feelings' out or something."
Clearly, she was joking, the mental image of Leon writing some angry letter, his face furrowed as he wrote so feverishly he broke his pen was quite a nice one though.

"Ah!" He hopped again, catching the edge of the blade across his side. "Oh wait.. you were splodey head?! In the gym?" Bix attempted some footwork type of thing which got him behind her and darting in the oppsite direction. "I was there.. blue team. With the effin pendants. How did I just find out that was you?" He panted still, wearing down after staying on the move consistently. Girls were so much faster than he was used to! "Seems like.." he let some arrows fly towards her and was finally spot on, "quite a few people brought baggage. And friends. And girlfriends. And sisters... I wouldn't want to drag anyone from home into this." HP: 22 / 40 Damage: 8

"Madam splode-y rage head, at your service!" Cass chimed in turn, wincing as the arrows came at her, though even as they stuck, it was...strange for them to not be touching her body. Seriously, this s**t was surreal to the unth degree.
Still, it seemed that since Bix was insisting on distance, she'd have to do the one thing she was good at for a distance, taking up the gun again and firing as she moved to break in that gap again.
It'll hit you harder if he hits you from a closer range.

"You know you're lucky as hell." He was bombarded with bullet and flinched but once again drew up his bow. "You have the sword and the gun." He let another arrow fly over her head but still attempted to keep on the move. He was getting tired, sluggish, so it wouldn't be hard for her to catch up to him. "Hate fighting you sword people.." It was a tiny slip that he didn't even notice and hopefully she didn't either. The people he'd said he fought didn't use swords... "Hey I was thinking." Breathe. Breathe. "Maybe doing a movie group thingy. Kinda just sitting around with a whole gang and watching stuff." Not everyone had a boyfriend or girlfriend to hang with. "We could steal one of the empty rooms or do a different dorm." he shrugged. "I know Madison said she didn't have a lot of scary movie experience." And he was too weird to one-on-one with her cause he'd constantly be thinking it was a date. HP: 16 / 40 Damage: MISS
