 Blinking sleepily Zuberi'Obi stared straight ahead blankly. It had been a long night what with the hunting of food for the pride. Sighing tiredly he flopped himself down on a semi-warm rock which soothed his somewhat achy muscles. Purring slightly Obi watched the interaction of those in his hunting party as they gave their farewells to mostly head in their homes to be with their families. Nanu, his lifemate, was around here somewhere and as soon as he got off his a** he would go see her. Before he new it he felt the faint pull of sleep and the lulling sound of the semi-quiet hussle and bussle of daily duties.
Shifting slightly was a mistake because before he knew it. Obi was going airborn flipping and landing quite harshly on his butt. "So much for being agile. Ouch." He moaned a few minutes later just sitting there not wanting to move and make it worse.

 The young lion felt himself becoming dehydrated, but he knew his goal must be close. The moisture in his fur had vanished, and static-charged sand particles clung to him relentlessly. The clumps of white sand where painfully obvious on his dark fur.
In the distance he spied lions. Finally, it seemed his journey might be coming to a close. He approached the nearest stationary lion. His typically fearful behavior caused him to become oblivious of the dangers of entering a new pride. He didn't realize that this was new territory, and these strangers knew the rules better than him... And that could lead to severe consequences. Vaikko remained blissfully unaware.
"Urh, hello." He chuckled as the yellow lion flopped on his stone and seemed to hurt himself. "You alright there?" He asked, and took a moment to admire the gold adorning the lion's wrists and ears.

Zuberi'Obi almost missed the sound, but a few months of constant training made his senses more aware. The sound was too loud to be anything small. Silently whirling around he came across another lion. Unfamiliar from those of his pride, and such interesting color. Zuberi'Obi unconsciously was tilting his head inspecting and neat this male had green flames on his bod. " Hello there dude." His carefree persona peeking through. Zuberi'Obi wasn't like most males and enjoyed a good conversation not believing violence was the answer. Ironic sense he was a hunter, he did enjoy a good fight when it needed to happen; survival or play.
"Uh, yeah" He chuckled before slowly getting up. " Just my pride was hurt is all...well and now my as-um butt is killing me. But nothing that a good dunk in the water won't cure. Can't say I've seen you around here before stranger."

Vaikko was pleasantly surprised by the laid back nature of this feline. He couldn't help but notice how his golden coat would make good camouflage against the desert sands. He wasn't too worried about it, but Vaikko hoped he wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb in this community.
"Ah, splashing around in the water can cure anything." Vaikko replied with a childlike glimmer in his eyes. For a moment he was stuck reminiscing about his cub hood, inventing new ways to make big splashes in the lake with his father. "Oh, yeah, I... I've been traveling around a lot. But it looks like I finally made it to my goal!" Vaikko grinned wide, and gave the stranger a greeting nod. "My name's Vaikko... It's been a pleasure meeting you." Remembering his dried up tongue and his desperately thirsty mouth, he moved on to ask.. "Speaking of water... Is there a river or stream around here? I'm terribly thirsty."

"It certainly can, sometimes my mother swears I should have been a water animal than a lion." Obi a grin crinkled his face before he continued. " Oh! Sure dude follow me and I will take you to our drinking hole. We a drinking hole and a bathing one, I wouldn't get them mixed up if I were you." He shuddered to think of the possibility.
"Nice to meet ya too Vaikko. So you're a roguie huh?" Obi made a gesture for the other male to follow him before moving towards the path that would bring them to the watering hole. " What's it like there? I bet you've seen many things. Goal huh? You looking to live with the Dawnwalkers?" Obi was curious as it was part of his nature.

"That's neat... You have separate lakes for drinking and bathing?" Vaikko was clueless about desert terminology, and it showed. "I will have to remember that." Whether he drank from the correct hole or not didn't bother him, but he didn't want to be criticized within the first days of his arrival.
Vaikko happily followed the other male, ears and eyes tuned in to every new smell and sound around him. It appeared that the golden adornments were a popular trait among these lions. "A roguie, heh. I've never heard it said that way before, but yeah. I suppose so." Vaikko swiped a paw across his mane in a vein attempt to remove his stubborn bangs from his eyes.
"I suppose I've seen a few things. Not too many, I think... I mostly just stayed with my family. But it was time to move on." The lion blinked. "Dawnwalkers? Is that what you're called?"

"Yup," He spoke cheerfully with the p ending in with a popping sound. " The artisans thought of it which is so awesome and yeah its what I call those from the rogue lands. We've had a few roguies convert to this pride recently its nice to see the pride grow you know?" He said with a smile before leaning down to have a sip of water too he might as well since he was here. "And yes that is what we are known as dawnwalkers. So what made you want to live among us? I see you want to join us? Though you'll have to speak with the elders for acceptance. Have no worries as they usually don't turn others away."

Once they arrived at the source of water, Vaikko found his whole muzzle submerged in it. He gulped up the water desperately, with very little grace. Finally, he lifted his head, and it was only then he realized how absurd he must look. But, man, was he thirsty.
"Oh uh... See, I'm the adventurous type. Traveling across the desert seemed like a fun challenge... Not only that, of course! I wanted to find a home to call my own, and I think this is it!" Vaikko flicked his tail and grinned at the stranger, oblivious of the long strands of saliva and water hanging from his lips. "The elders, huh? Well... Where are they?" He tilted his head, his smile had vanished. "Have any tips you could give me?"
Vaikko glanced at the water, ready to take another slurp or two... until he realized he'd forgotten something. "Oh, I think.. I don't think you shared me your name! Unless, you have... and I forgot already. Heh, that happens sometimes!"

Zuberi nodded his head understanding, adventure could certainly be very addicting but so could the thought of setting down roots and having a perminent place to stay. "I'll do one better and take you there myself before I head off to my wife- oh crud!" He laughed and patted the other lions shoulder. " Sorry, my bad dude. I'm Zuberi'Obi and I'm one of the hunters here. Oh, which reminds me. You need to find you nitch. You know something you can do to advance the tribe, the elders will inform you all about it so don't worry if you have no idea what I am talking about."
Zuberi'Obi started to move away from the watering hole checking back a few times to see if he was being followed by his new friend. " We are almost there Vai shouldn't be long- ah there we go." Zuberi pointed to the center of the temple doors. " I can't follow you in there as is the rules, this is one journey you have to make on your own. Good luck and don't worry the elders aren't too bad a folk unless you do a prank on them... which I learned the hard way. We should meet up again sometime since I'll be seeing ya alot, bye for now dude!"

"Hah, well nice to meet you Zuberi'Obi the Hunter." Vaikko nodded and listened to the stranger. "A niche, eh? Does jumping off cliffs and trees into small pools of water count as a niche?" The lion chuckled at his own joke and followed after the other.
They arrived at the temple, but Vaikko was still completely distracted by the foreign scents, sounds and sights. Finally he blinked himself out of his trance and started his way into the lair of the elders. "Thanks man. I guess I'll see you later... Unless I get kicked out or something, haha. I'll try to keep the pranks to a minimum, though!" And with a playful flick of his tail, Vaikko disappeared to confront the elders about becoming a Dawnwalker.
