"Minny, be careful! And listen Millie's parents!"
"Ok Ma, love you!" The brown haired girl shouted back, waving behind her. Minny was on her way to her new best friend Mille's house for a sleepover and Star Wars Party. They had become best friends at recess, and apparently it was very important that she see these movies. But with the sudden appearance of a talking cat and the flowering of Sailor Ambrosia into the world, Minny had to put off the party until she was sure Millie thought that she hated her. But now she was going over there, and as she boots splashed in the puddles left by the melted snow, excitement grew in her heart. This was her first sleepover in such a long time! She brought her special pajamas just for the occasion. They were blue with little pink flowers on them, her favorite.
She sidewalk became more crowded as she neared the center of Destiny City. Millie said she lived close to the shopping center. Minny gazed at the crudely drawn map with green eyes, trying to figure out which blocks were which stores. The little girl munched carefully on a chocolate chip cookie swiped from the kitchen counter while her mother packed her backpack with clothes. The other four she had taken sat in a Ziploc baggie in her puffy pink jacket pocket.

It was kind of nice to have a place a temporary place to stay and with a cat who seemed to know the lowdown on what was happening - or at least she claimed, 'cause ********* was terribly cryptic and tight lipped about everything it seemed. It hurt his kitty brain trying to figure her out. But, Sheldon still did actually have a home even though it was sometimes hard to access if his sister wasn't around and she was sure to be going home soon now that the Thanksgiving holiday was over.
So, he was heading to his small apartment to make sure she had kept the window ajar like he had asked her ... to make sure he could still make it in; it wasn't like he could keep his keys on him. Or wait, could he? Man, that would be an annoying collar.
Making it to his homestead meant cutting it close to the heart of Destiny City, congested and crowded Destiny City. He managed his best, dodging feet and angry pedestrians, sticking it as close to the walls and buildings as he could to make it through. And ledges when they were available and not too high, he didn't trust himself with really high places.
He made it pretty when he passed the little brown haired girl who seemed confused by a map. And he would have ignored her like everyone else if it weren't for the amazing aroma his nose picked up from her. Were... those home-made cookies?
Damn this new cat nose! It picked up scents so much better and food seemed all the more delicious smelling because of it. Sheldon looked up at the little girl and figured it was best to test a theory now - ********* had said there were more cats like him now, begging for food. So, he lifted a paw and tapped at her legs a few times.
God, cookies.....

Her lapse in ability to read a map was interrupted by a faint pressure on her leg. Minny paused and lifted teh paper above her head, staring down at what was probably the cutest cat she had ever seen in her life. It was a faint greensih color, and the more she looked at it, the more strange she thought it was that the kitty would be green. But it's ccute little ears! All bent forward and adorable! Minny kept herself from squealing and slowly bent down to have better access to the fuzzy creature.
"Why hello there!" She said, reaching out her free hand to pet it's head. There was a marking on it's forehead that looked like a star and she froze. A star? Did that mean.....
"Can you talk too?" She asked, whispering dramatically with excitement flashing in her green eyes. That marking looked a lot like Dhalia's and she could talk. Maybe this one could too! Oh how fun if he could!

The petting he could have expected, even though he wasn't entirely used to it. It was quite obvious as well since he wasn't just lapping it up, basking in her attention and nearly beating his face into her offered hand. Hell, Sheldon wasn't even purring. He was close to it since it just sort of happened without him wanting it to, but he still wasn't.
And really, the little girl nearly hit him sideways with her very direct question. How the hell ... did she know of the epidemic or was this just information that ********* was keeping from him? Sheldon blinked slowly before very carefully replied, "uh ... yeah?"
The green cat really didn't know if that was a good idea or not, it wasn't like this sort of thing happened to him everyday.

Minny squealed, clapping her hands and picking up the cat, hugging him close. "Oh you can you can talk! Just like the kitty I shared a swimming pool with!" She spun around in a circle, then pulled the cat away from her body, holding him with her hands under his arm pits. How wonderful! Now she had met three talking cats! She didn't mention the third. She wasn't supposed to, since he had given her senshi powers. But that was her secret. Now she beamed at the confused cat in her hands, and said "Oh, you bumped into me for something didn't you? Are you hungry maybe?"
She shifted her hold on the cat, putting him under one arm while she fished through her pockets, retrieving the bag of cookies. Then she bent down and set him down carefully, taking a cookie out of the bag and offering it to him.
"If you don't like cookies, I can find ya something else! What's your name? Mine's Minny. And don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you can talk." She mimed sealing her lips with her now free hand, still holding out the cookie with a warm smile.

Sheldon wasn't sure how he liked being held like a ragdoll in the arms of a little girl. Limbs weren't at least dragging on the ground, well his tail was close, even with how limp he was hanging in her arms. Everytime Minny moved, the green cat simply swayed and went with the flow, a little perturbed.
At least he got what he had asked for and he took a bite into the delicious cookie she held for him, "cookies are fine," he offered a smile after he swallowed, a few crumbs stuck in the small hairs around his mouth. "I was honestly trying out the whole begging for food thing another cat suggested to me." Did Sheldon sound a bit sheepish? Yup.
"I'm Sheldon, by the way." It was weird to say it as a cat, since it wasn't a very 'cat' name. But either way, "You went swimming with a cat that could talk?" It was a little surprising given the usual cat temperament towards bodies of water and well, the back of nagging mind was wondering how long ago this was; how long have talking cats existed?

The brown haired girl nodded, saying "Ok! Well I have a couple more I can give you. My mom made them. She's the best cook ever!" She watched the cat crunch on the cookie merrily, ignoring the fact that she was now going to be late to her party with Millie. Her mind was totally focused on the cat, whose name she now knew.
"Sheldon huh? That's a funny cat name!" She giggled, putting her hand to her mouth to cover the giggles. It might be rude to laugh at someone's name.
Her nod mirrored itself when he asked about a swimming cat. "Yeah she was really fluffy and white. And she had a star on her head, just like yours. Only her's was black." Now that she thought about it, she had yet to meet another cat with a black star....maybe Dhalia was special.
"So where ya goin now?" She asked Sheldon.

It took a little longer than usual to consume the whole cookie, given his new body structure and smaller mouth. This gave Sheldon at least time to savor the taste of it a little longer. "Not going to argue with you there," he told her. Not the best cook, every child thought their moms were awesome cooks until proven otherwise.
"Well, it wasn't supposed to be a cat name," he told her simply with a shrug, "I'm not normally a cat you see." Did she know about this problem? He had no idea how widespread this news was, even for someone really young.
Hearing about the other cat and her description was at least interesting though, "black?" That was new. "I've met another cat with a kind of silver star like mine," he told her. So, there were different stars then? Wonder if that meant anything. Maybe too much to dwell on probably, there were more important matters at hand anyways.
Like her question that seemed to get it into his brain that he did have an original intention for being out, "oh." Sheldon blinked, "oh, I was heading home to see if things were okay." He gestured his head in a general direction of where his apartment lay.
"Where were you headed?" He found himself asking, not even sure why. "Is that a map?" Again, he had no idea why these questions were coming out of his mouth.

Minny smiled widely at the cat praising her mother's cooking. Now if only she could tell her mom! But Minny knew that it was a secret that she was talking to a cat. Her grin faded and her eyes widened when he mentioned that it wasn't a cat name.
"Are you not always a cat?" The ones that she had met earlier seemed to always be cats. Dhalia didn't mention ever becoming a person or a bird or something, and poor Pippin was so little that if he were to be anything but a cat, it would probably be a mouse! But they both looked and acted decidedly cat. "Do you change into another animal? Like a cow?"
The thought of a cow with his colors made her want to giggle. Especially when she added the silver star to it's head.
"Does your mom and dad know your a cat? Were they mad?" Minny thought, like any other child at some point in their life, that it would be super awesome to be an animal. Most thought something like a wolf or a fox, and Minny agreed that these had qualities....but something about cats made her wish she was one. But maybe his parents didn't know! Oh then maybe they were worried about him...her attention was brought back to earth with the question about her map.
"Yeah it is. My friend Millie drew it for me so I could find her house." Millie! Oh now she was terribly late! "I don't think she is a good draw-er though because I can't tell where I am!" she laughed, lowering the paper with the scrawled houses and buildings to Sheldon's eye level. How silly she must look holding a paper up to a cat.

Sheldon wasn't too sure how much he would like the idea of being a cow. Though, cows did seem to have easy enough lives, just chewing on grass all day; it would only suck when the whole slaughtering thing came into play. "I really hope this doesn't lead me to turning into other animals." He replied, his tail swishing in the air. "A cat isn't so bad, I get to sleep all day and really no one thinks any differently." Yeah, that was a pretty awesome aspect of this.
"But, I was normally a person." He told her. Obviously she hadn't gotten the news, how many people were in this loop anyways?
"Only my sister knows," Sheldon went on, "she was... surprised and confused but at least able to cover for me." He had missed Thanksgiving because of this, his sister claiming him to be sick. No free amazing food, and the reaction to his sister's announcement that she was engaged. Totally sucked. Sheldon nearly pouted over the recollection until the map was held up to him.
His yellow eyes glanced over the crude drawings, not even thinking about how this scene would look to outsiders. It probably helped that Minny was like... ten or something. "Well, your inability to decipher this seems like a good reason to be late." Yeah, it wasn't like he could make heads or tails of it either. "You look like you're right here though," he managed as he pawed at part of the map. "Do you know what street she lives on?"

Yes, being a cat sounded like a good thing. Maybe she would try and find a way to become a cat like Sheldon.
Who was a person? "So you were a person at first? How did you become a cat?" Maybe she wouldn't have to search for a way. He could just tell her! "I think if I was a cat then my brother would chase me. Or lock me up somewhere." Her brother was like that. Granted he was only 11, but sometimes he got on Minny's nerves like no one else can!
She twisted her head to look over Sheldon's shoulder. "I think that's right." She said, rising up to look around. That circle there had to be the fountain. She traced her finger along the path drawn in green. It looked like she needed to go..."This way?" She said uncertainly, pointing off to the right. "She said she lived on....Maplevine Street. A blue house with a white door."

Really, Minny had a very good question. "I honestly just found myself like this all of a sudden," he explained simply. "One minute playing XBox, the next.. a cat." Such a sad tale of a twenty year old boy, his ears drooped a little from the short retelling.
"You would have claws though," he offered her, "and you'd be able to get to places he couldn't reach." That would probably be the better alternative than the violent one, but children were strange sometimes and resorted to such ideas even before he did; maybe he was just too lazy to think of the creatively brutal ideas or something.
Sheldon fell silent then as he watched her try to designate her location from his small bit of observation. His yellow eyes glanced about at the crowds and what he remembered from the map, he wasn't the best at remembering things visually but sometimes it stuck just like audio clues always did. His ears perked at the mention of the street, aha! Now he could be actually helpful. "Can't say I remember the door or anything, but my mom used to have a co-worker that used to live around there," he told the little girl. "It's that direction," he went on as he nodded his head to her right.

Minny looked off to the right, consulting the map once again. That could be right. "Claws would be nice if you wanted to get up high. And cats can jump pretty high too!" Yeah, being a cat would be cool. But then she wouldn't have any thumbs! Which means no cookies. Cookies, right!
"Thank you for your help." She said, offering Sheldon one of the last cookies. She felt bad that he was unable to get things like cookies. After all, they weren't normally cat treats.
Her booted feet started to the right while the map was held out at arms length. She tried to match up the landmarks, and suddenly, they made sense! Minny turned back to Sheldon, smiling widely at the feline. "Do you want to come with? I'm sure Millie wouldn't mind another friend at our party. It's alright if you don't want to though."

Huh, he hadn't really given the whole jumping thing a really good try. Really, he wasn't sure if he was really the sort of person - per say - to give it a go... but given his circumstances, Sheldon wasn't seeing how it could be a bad thing to give another whirl.
"You're welcome," the green cat replied before being taken aback by the offered cookie that came right up to his face. His golden eyes crossed looking at it before he took it as best he could with his mouth, "'hanksss," he managed... and then wondered where to even put it. Minny was asking him another question and he couldn't even properly respond.
"Nah...." he tried, mouth full of cookie, "I... 'eed 'to seee ifff mah p'ace is okay... 'hanks 'hough." Well, to Sheldon that seemed like it was audible enough. Hopefully the little girl understood that. It was a sweet offer, but really Sheldon would have felt awkward with taking her up on it. He wasn't really that sociable and... they were little girls ....

She had to pause to really understand what Sheldon was saying. She nodded, saying "I understand. Your house is very important." The little girl bent down, forgetting for a moment that he was a human in real life. Her hand reached his fluffy ears and petted him, saying "Thank you for your help. I hope that you are a person again! Maybe we can meet again then!"
She removed her hand and started to walk away. Her upper body twisted back to wave to the cat. "Bye bye Sheldon!"
