Roll a Nine: Seashore Field: Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

Cara walked out into the stadium, with Dante by her side, to be surprised by the field type today. The seashore. She carefully eyed Dante and saw that he was not happy. Her cat did NOT like water one bit. "At least there's a shoreline and its not the water field Dante, think about that. You could be completely surrounded by water without a shred of ground to stand on." Cara said, trying to make it seem better to the water-hating Persian. Dante gave her an 'I-am-not-pleased/I hate you/shut up -_-' look, before they continued on to the western half of the field. Cara stopped before they got onto the field, waiting for their opponents.

Abby ran into the stadium afraid she was late to her battle that day. The man behind the desk tossed her a pokeball as she ran past, inside was the Rental Rattata she used three days in a row, he was her favorite and had grown attached to the little bugger. Abby ran all the way to the platform she'd have to stand on. "I'm here! Sorry I'm a tad late!" She called out to the other trainer, a bit out of breath. She released Rattata and smiled at him. "Look! No ice! Think we could just lay on the beach for a bit first.' She laughed.
Rattata chattered happily, no ice for once. The water worried him but thank Arceus that it wasn't ice.

"Let's have a great battle!" Abby cheered and waved to the other trainer. Then her demeanor changed. "Rattata use Rock Smash!"
Rattata smiled, he got to fight right away for once, he gladly charged the large cat and throw himself at it.

Cara casually looked over at the girl who came running in and smiled, laughing softly. "Nah, it's ok. You weren't really late. Me and Dante were kinda early actually." Cara then made her way to the Trainer's box and Dante padded out onto the sandy field. She laughed more audibly when she heard the comment about 'no more ice'. "I know the feeling...The ice can be a cruel mistress." She then stretched, as did Dante down on the field and put her game face on. "Let's get started, shall we? The first move is yours."

Cara's demeanor quickly changed as soon as the battle began. Dante was sent flying back a ways by the power of the Rock Smash but he was able to quickly get up and shake off the damage. He growled and hissed at the rat, he wasn't going to take this lying down. "Ok Dante, use Dig!" Dante immediately began tunneling in the sand, moving quickly to attack the Rattata.

Abby clinched her teeth. "That's ok Rattata, shake it off and hit it again!"
Rattata was sent flying, he hit the ground at the water line. Even thing hurt, he had no idea the cat could hit that hard, he's have to be extra careful to dodge his attacks from now on.
Rattata scrambled back on to his paws and ran at the persian again. Paw glowing he aim to hit him back with a strong rock smash.

Cara grinned as Dante's Dig rang true. She loved that move. "Ok Dante, dodge it and use Mud-Slap!" She called out.
Dante nodded and ran towards some of the wet sand, swiftly dodging the Rattata's attack. He then started scooping up the wet ground and hurled it at the small rat pokemon.

"Oh NO! Rattata, are you ok!?" Those to hits where hard...too hard for her little guy. "Rattata, freeze it!"
Like he could answer her right now. He tried to shake the wet sand out of his eyes.

Cara grinned as the Mud-Slap made a critical hit. "Wow...twice in a row." She said. Dante grinned in a catlike way. Cara's grin turned sour when she heard Abby call out Ice Beam. "Dante, dodge it!!"
Dante tried to dodge the attack but was unfortunately to slow this time and was hit. It was also unfortunate that he was frozen solid
"Aw crap..." Cara muttered. "And us without any Ice Heals or Aspear Berries..." Cara wasn't sure what to do. So, she did the only thing she could do, and shouted at Dante to wiggle his way free of the ice block he was frozen in. "Come on Dante!! Free yourself!! You can do it!!"

"Good job Rattata, Hit it again!" Abby saw that that ice was super thin, it wouldn't last lone and she wanted to change that well they could.
Rattata smile at his handy work and was rather annoyed that Abby told him to do it again, it was like she was knocking his work, the nerve.

Cara made clenching motions with her hands, her eye twitching as the attack hit once more. "Oh come on!" She shouted, then smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand. "Why must life be cruel?" She said to no one in particular, just being dramatic. "If I thought Dante hated ice and water before...after this he's gonna abhor it..."
Dante had broken free of the ice but was immediately refrozen. From within the ice he gave the rattata the most heated glare he could. He was extremely unhappy.

"Woooo! That a boy! Now hit it with a rock smash! She was rather glad she did another ice beam, seeing as the Persian just broke free just as she thought it would.
Rattata couldn't believe it. He stared at the now double thick ice and saw two eyes staring back at him. It gave him the willy's. He shut his eyes and thruster a glowing paw at the ice block.

The block of ice that Dante was encased in was sent flying back a bit from the impact of the attack. Dante could do nothing but hold on for dear life and growl out in pain from both the biting cold of the ice and the Rock Smash. His eyes bore into the Rattata, waiting for the opportunity to get his claws on the rodent. He knew by the way Rattata closed its eyes that it got freaked out by his stare, a fact which he relished.
Cara clenched her fists tightly. She couldn't really do anything except be ready when Dante broke free. "Hold on Dante!!"
