Smoky-black branches went flying with each stroke of blue as the Hunter - Caelius - paved a literal path through the forest. The trees themselves groaned and curled up, withering away from a single touch of his scythe, repulsed by the weapon's Fear.
And at last, he stopped, a semi-circular nest of branches withering around him. There was a moment of tension, opponents waiting on the next move, waiting for the other to strike first.
"Horsemen." Glowing scythe in hand, the Death Hunter's eyes were only focused on the four, and finally to Eris. "Shall we continue?"
OOC BOSS BATTLE HP: 50/100 - The Fear Barrier's effect is weakened this far: Fear attacks are now usable (but not anything else in terms of external items, minipets, etc) - All opponents may attack once per gm'ed turn, that means the second the gm makes a move or turn to attack, anyone in this rp can attack again - As long as your character was not trapped from the last rp, you can wander here and attack Caelius/ try to assist the horsemen

To be honest, Invictus would have preferred if the others coming along on their little..venture had remained back with their allies and worked on freeing them instead of accompanying the four. Overconfidence in the situation with the trainees would leave the situation.. ....
interesting.
Still, the Horseman did not raise the bow in his possession again, yet, his attention marked solely on the man who stood in front of them - sharp, unmoving. As with his attention on the four, Caelius was in turn given undivided attention from Conquestilence. Yes, this seemed to be suitable enough, as it was.
"How very polite of you, Caelius." Invictus said, almost amused. Almost. Only almost, still, he didn't make the first move to strike, instead he purposely made a warning shot, lifting and throwing a rather large rock past the man.
"You should take your manners and leave."

"But he can't leave yet, Connie. We haven't yet given him his welcome gift." Aisa said sweetly, their tempers unleashed. Her large scythe, infinitely different from Caelius's scythe, distorted, giving the other horsemen a chance to see the turmoil the heir of Death's emotions were in. She stood by Eris and Connie, the heirs on different sides of Caelius, in a battle stance of surrounding their enemy.
Aisa could feel Eris's rage without turning, the emotion resonating and amplifying her own. Aisa practically fed off Eris's anger, in addition to her own, along with Connie and Cym's, the blackness of insanity only increasing that to colors that could not be named or described--- Caelius had effectively riled them up with a few simple words.
A huge swung was taken, gloved palms gripping the handle with a fierce pain, shadowed in a crimson flash as Aisa ran forward, the flash of metal swung through the air with a rush of wind.

Later on, War's heir might be very cross to remember the students who followed after Caelius, after specifically telling them it would be in their best interest to avoid him at all costs. At that very moment, however, it was the farthest thing from her mind. As she and her kin raced through the darkness after the blur of the red cape up ahead, the only thing on her mind was the hunt, the familiar smell of blood she desperately wanted, the scream of terror on those smug lips. Her FEAR was gone, dissipated with the trap, but her eyes were wild regardless, far too drunk on the sensation of liquid pleasure in her veins, driven by hate. Despite her heels, Eris seemed to have a surprising lack of trouble navigating the gnarled roots and dead leaves that coated the forest floor, dipping sideways every once in a while to avoid an incoming tree, never directly behind the scythe-wielding hunter. Although it may have been easier to navigate the path he cut, she didn't let the residual blue that lingered on the branches touch her, always swaying to avoid them if she got too close.
They stopped when he stopped, leaving the same distance between him and them, waiting as if there were some sort of ritual they had to go through before proceeding. Her black wings quivered, brown eyes blown wide, but she waited, the sensuality she usually used to her advantage completely gone, replaced by a feral look that overtook her entire being.
Caelius spoke, and Eris laughed, low and maniacal under her breath, watching as Invictus' bolder soared over the man's shoulder, Aisa's slicing wind following close behind. He waited until last for his eyes to settle on her, but once they did she held them, smiling to him almost as a lover would.
"He sounds as if he is asking us to dance~"
Sliding her hand down over her hip, she slid her gold dagger out of its sheath, flicking it lightly only to catch it again, reversing it to hold the hilt in her fist again, so the length of the blade pointed towards the ground. Only then did she charge, kicking off the earth to launch herself full-force towards him, not attempting any sort of restraint. She knew he would dodge, knew he could take her down with one stroke of that scythe, but she ignored it, not attempting any sort of tactical maneuver. Instead, she moved to get as close as she could, slashing in downward fashion as if to attempt to disembowel him, close enough she could hear the crackle of power from his weapon.
"Your death will be so sweet..."
She was counting on her dagger to be lighter. He could dodge her attacks, but with a weapon as long and heavy as his, she was counting on being able to do the same.
"I will so enjoy killing you."

Caelius.
She's caught the tail end of Invictus' words, and listened, just out of sight, as the rest of the horsemen attacked. It was clear this fight was meant for them. In fact, if Riley was smart, she would have stayed behind and let the horsemen take care of this man, once and for all.
But she remembered.
Risking the tongue lashing she might receive later, she moved to stand behind the heirs, specifically Eris as she lashed out to attack Caelius, and waited.
There was a moment when, just beneath the arc of Eris' arm, that Riley dipped underneath the heir of War, crouched, and lashed every one of her tentacles out at Caelius. For a moment, it might look as though Eris had grown some new appendages - but when the Heir moved away, it was clear a student had entered the fray.
She had no eloquent or dramatic words for the head Hunter, she just knew what she was meant to do.
Cut off the head.

Cymbeline rushed in after her brethren, each step lightened by the promise of blood and destruction. HIS blood. And suddenly, the smell in the air, the atmosphere of fear and Insanity, the presence of that barrier it was like home away from home once again. Had they returned... She had to remind herself this was not the island.
Famine's heir laughed, loud and long. Would they be trapped this time once again? Was their imprisonment to resume inside this barrier? No, NO NO. THEY WOULD DESTROY HIM. STOMP HIM. Rather than remain here once again. She felt her FEAR return, and grinned. Let him starve. LET HIM FEEL FEAR AND SUFFER.

Mandy, like Riley, realized she might have been better off staying behind and dealing with the trainees, she was just a puny Year One after all and she did remember their warning.
But she remembered something else, something Invictus had taught them well.
Numbers are everything, no matter how strong you where. Ants can take down an elephant when they swarm.
So she was here, ready to lend her claws when they where needed. The second the battle started in earnest, she would be there in the middle.
For now though she stayed her attack as they 'talked', instead surveying the area for anything useful.

Upon arriving at the clearing Caelius had so kindly cleared, it struck the ghoul that she did not know what to do. Attack? If anything, the first encounter she had with the death hunter had taught her that she stood no chance against the likes of him. Edel's eyes wandered from each horsemen, recognising every bit of that killing intent. Eris, especially, didn't seem as though she would enjoy it if they were going to steal her kill.
However, it was true that all of them wanted him dead. It wasn't personal, really.
Concentrating her FEAR into four slim blades of ice, the frost demon cast them towards the hunter's direction, reliving the same feeling of vehemence she felt when she attacked him after she was released from her cage. She would let the horsemen take the kill of course, but she couldn't resist not trying to bring him down. HP: 30 / 30 Damage: 4 Status: -na-

He wanted to know why he knew their names. He wanted to know why they had brief descriptions of them as if they were keeping files on them. He wanted to know how they could walk into their school and set up traps right at their doorstep. It made sense to follow the hunter with the big scythe. If they didn't find out anything, then all they would do was come back and trap them again and again until they were all in cages, and this time, they might not get a chance at escape.
He followed the horsemen, and noticed a few students also left the party to join them. He waited around the horsemen, not wanting to get in the way of a group that seemed more powerful than him, but that didn't mean he wouldn't try. When the hunter neared and he crept by, he tried to kick out, but it barely nicked him.
Maybe he was being foolish being here. Maybe - he was just being overconfident that he could be of use.

Jericho was right behind Riley. Here was one of the heads of the hunters, the group causing Halloween so much grief. For a moment, he glanced to the horsemen, and the other students that had come. Caelius was on their territory right now. How strong could he be on their turf? Well, there was only one way to find out. Then again, he remembered his first encounter with the man, in the forest many months back. He had overpowered them all. But they were stronger now, right? When the Mindflayer moved forth, he did as well. The dragon moved off to the side, trying to attack from Eris's other side. HP: 40 Damage: 0

Moving through the forest as quickly as he could, it wasn't too long before Shun found the little arena that had been created here. As he entered, he paused to see what was happening here exactly. Obviously people were attacking the scythe hunter, but he was trying to see if he could find a blind spot of sorts. Gripping onto his daggers, he realized some FEAR had returned to him, and considered unleashing it. The last time it happened against this particular opponent, he ended up being robbed of sight and sound for a week. There was a slight difference though, outside of him having improved a bit since their last encounter. There were more attacking the man. And the scythe was out in plain view. Narrowing his eyes, he decided to risk it. There was still a glimmer of doubt within him, as he shadow stepped to the area behind Cael and around him. Perhaps he had misjudged the distance, or the Hunter had managed to dodge all of his strikes. One way or another, his daggers never touched the man. HP: 40 Damage: 0 SSS - level 2 Swift Strikes

On Lizzy's prompting, Amrita entered the fray. The destruction of the beautiful trees was heartbreaking, making her bristle; she pegged another grievance on the list against this human. Soon the group came in to view, and the Hunter was an obvious target; between the cloak and the glowing scythe he certainly wasn't easy to blend into the background.
Plus, you know, her classmates and the horsemen were attacking him.
She wanted answers, but her immediate reaction was, surprisingly, to hit. Backward hands came arching down in a club on the arm that held the scythe, hoping to have the strength to make him drop it. Unlikely, but...

Sammy did not wait, she did not hesitate, she simply ran. Boots pounding the dirt as she moved past the horsemen and other students. FEAR was trickling back but she had made the mistake earlier of wasting some of it in the chase, he was still standing.
When she got close enough she rose up spinning about bringing the whole blunt force of her left forearm and fist in a spinning blow. Snarling all the while. Even still her attack fell short and she dropped into a crouch before the Hunter ready to strike again or move if need be.
She was not going to back down from this.

Xiu had told her to follow Shun and so she had. It had taken a bit of dodging and weaving but Mitsu finally arrived at battle 2.0 where the scythe hunter, Caelius stood facing off with the horseman and some other students. Nervously Mitsu watched the students take turns striking, holding her breath when Shun got close and lashed out at the hunter. At this point she didn't know if she should defend the reaper or attack.
She continued to weight her options having to approach and get close either way. Finally when she was within range she decided to attack, claws swiping at whatever she could get before she attempted to pull back, standing by Shun.

Savior had been told by a ghoul under a net to follow, so Savior followed. She was pretty good at obeying what people told her if it seemed legit enough, which could have been trouble for her if anyone important knew that - like a hunter or something. Either way she had made a decent path and finally caught up with everyone else, watching them as they all took pot shots at what was the original person. He was no longer carrying around an undead, perfect, and Savior cracked her knuckles as she moved in.
A good strong swipe of her hands was delivered as she made contact, proud of the hit. Where was West, hadn't he gone this way? Wouldn't he be proud of Savior for doing a good job? hp 30/30 target Boss - hit! damage 5 pts boss hp 9 hp ( are we keeping track? if not, sorry ora )
