Roll an Eight: City Streets Field: Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road are sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there. Fake building walls, complete with broken glass windows and grime lining the surface, limit the amount of maneuverable space on land. Trash cans and trash bags decorate the street. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air which, unfortunately, helps spread the horrible stench of the trash. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to POISON type attacks.

Genesis wrinkled her nose as the stage turned into that of an abandoned city. She had hoped she would never have to see this field again, but with only twelve to randomize out of, she wasn't really surprised.
Covering her nose with the collar of her shirt, she motioned for Erebos to enter. "You take care of this one," she said as he passed. She didn't want to have to talk through the stench.
Erebos trotted onto the street-like stage, avoiding the bundles of trash as he waited for their opponent to arrive.

Cara walked out into the stadium to face Genesis once more, only this time it would be with Dante. He strode next to her, happy to gain more experience and test himself against another tough pokemon. He enjoyed a challenge. Cara looked over the field. The city type..."Eugh...kinda stinky, huh Dante?" She asked, looking down at the feline. Dante nodded and looked back up at Cara. Cara then took as deep a breath as possible...through her mouth, trying to avoid the rank stench of the place. Normally, the city was good for normal types like Dante but not this city...this one was perfect for the poisonous type. Cara looked over and saw that Erebos had entered the field. "Ok Dante, do your best." She said with a kind smile, scratching him behind the ear. Dante lovingly rubbed up against Cara's leg before dashing out onto the field. Cara then made her way into her trainer's box.

Erebos approached his cat-like opponent when the battle began, quickly sizing up the other. He knew Persians, and he would use it to his advantage.
Suddenly daring to the side behind a building, he used the brief moment of time to shut his eyes and use Calm Mind to raise his attack.

((sorry for the delay, was looking for some decent moves...persians need better defensive moves))
Dante looked back to Cara and she nodded, eyes glistening as she smiled. "Do it buddy! Dig down deep!" Cara shouted. At that, the Persian started tunneling down under the streets of the fake city and stealthily toward Erebos, ready to attack and deal the first blow.
((sorry I have the song 'Dig Down Deep' from Pixie Hollow Games stuck IN MY HEAD!! X3 had it there for a couple weeks, its slowly driving me nutso..))

When Erebos was ready to enter the fray, he realized he could no longer smell the Persian. Wary, he glanced around, spotting the tell-tale hole too late. Unexpectedly leaping out from the earth, the Persian struck him hard, sending Erebos back.
With a snarl, he ran towards the cat Pokémon, forearms glowing with Cross Chop.

"Dante! Dodge and use dig!" Dante swiftly maneuvered around the Lucario, using the alley ways to his advantage, and began to dig a new hole. He tunneled quickly underneath the putrid earth, keeping his breath regulated by breathing through his mouth so that he wouldn't have to smell the fumes as much.

Before Erebos could get in a hit, the Persian dug away again, and he missed. He stumbled over the hole but did not fall, nor did he try to follow the Persian inside.
This time, he was ready for the attack and wasn't hit as hard. Keeping his footing, he retaliated with Cross Chop.

Dante reeled back a bit from the attack but stood strong, ready for the next attack. "You ok Dante?" Cara called over. He nodded and growled. "Alright then, use Psych Up and copy his stats." Dante stared intently at Erebos, hypnotizing himself to gain the attack boost that the lucario had.
((thats the only decent stat boosting move persians can learn...so sad))

Erebos' attack hit, and he bounced back with the momentum, landing smoothly on his toes. Strangely enough, the Persian didn't give chase, although Erebos spotted a subtle twitching of muscle that showed the Pokémon's raising strength. Suspicious, he ran towards the Persian with another Cross Chop.

Dante flew back a bit, skidding on the hard surface of the road. He quickly got up and growled back at his foe. "Use Dig, Dante!" Upon hearing the word 'dig', the Persian immediately began tunneling once more. Cara knew that the ground attack was their best weapon against the steel/fighting type pokemon, since they didn't know any fire type moves.

It was hard for Erebos to follow the sounds Dante made underground, and he was struck once again with Dig. Growling his annoyance, he attempted a Cross Chop.

"Dante!!" Cara called out as her persian was sent flying. Her hands gripped the edges of the trainer box tightly as she watched her trusted and beloved pokemon struggle to get up. Cara considered, for just a split moment, throwing in the towel and forfeiting, but cursed herself out for even thinking of such a thing. Dante would headbutt her if he heard her say anything like that. Dante stood proudly before the Lucario, beaten and battered, but willing to go on, no matter what the result of the battle would be. Cara knew she needed to trust him as much as he trusted her. "You can do it buddy! Use Mud-Slap!" Dante nodded and found some mud, once there, hestarted hurling it at Erebos's face.
