General guidelines
- Be aware of the setting; no matter who your character is, there are some things they just can't get away with. If your pickpocket goes up to a respectable gentleman at a social function and starts cursing at him, for example, she will probably get detained!
Remember that guardians do not become fully sentient until the hind/stag stage. Unawakened guardians shouldn't be speaking with words yet, verbally or telepathically. They are much more intelligent than animals but not quite as smart as humans.
If your guardian hasn't reached a stage yet, don't RP as if it has! However, you are welcome to do past RPs in which your guardian is at an earlier stage (even if you don't have art for it), as long as your partner is informed of the context.
Roleplaying etiquette
- Do not control other people's characters or force unavoidable actions upon them unless you have their permission first (godmoding/powerplaying). Similarly, don't have your character know things about other characters that you know, but your character shouldn't (metagaming).
Don't mistake IC actions/emotions for OOC ones! If someone's character is unkind to yours, that absolutely doesn't mean their player feels the same way.
Gaia is PG-13, so your RPs should be too. Adult content is permitted but it shouldn't be graphic or gratuitous! Please fade to black before things get horizontal.
