Calder had been having to text Jericho to postpone any training. With his own issues to deal with, then the field trip, then healing, he had to push it off until now. Now that his behind wasn't still sore from all the arrows and his black eye from Christof was starting to fade away, he was ready for - well, more damage. Not that he didn't hate the idea. He just hoped the dragon boil had the decency to avoid his face. He had his looks to maintain after all. They were a huge part of his Fear which - for the moment, wasn't really working. It seemed he was still a bit zapped out, but training was training and he was even more determined to become stronger.
Waiting in the outdoor arena, Calder took off his jacket and set it on one of the benches circling around the arena and then tied up his hair into a higher ponytail. He used a headband to keep his bangs back and out of his face. It was time to show his kelpie strength to his trainer.

When it was time to get back to business, Jericho was glad that Calder was finally up for more training. He was a little surprised the kelpie wanted to battle him. But this was perfectly fine for him. Practice was practice. He loved a good fight as always, and he knew he could always use a little extra experience.
Though, let's just say he had a bit of a surprise of his own for his opponent of the day.
Before he showed up in the arena, Calder might have heard a roar from high up. Within the next few moments, a red dragon touched down in the arena.
He did not put his pin back on.
"Prepare yourself Calder! I won't be going easy on you!"

Calder did not expect Jericho to FLY here, and was taken aback at seeing the massive dragon touch down. The only dragon-like thing he had seen before were the various river serpents and even smaller dragons in his home down. River brothers from the old age and more serpentine and slender than the bigger, more muscular dragon he was seeing now. He stepped back, hair blown back by the roar and the challenge.
Well, it was a fight, and Calder only really fought well in one form. Reaching down, he started to unclip his pin. "Alright!" He took the pin off, tossing it on his jacket, and waited. Fog quickly rolled up at the base of his hooves before crawling up and covering him completely. Stepping out, a white mare stood before the dragon.
She was ready.

Jericho watched as a fog rolled in around Calder's hooves. When he next saw the kelpie, he saw a white... mare? His head tilted a bit in confusion, but he didn't ask anything of it. Must be a kelpie thing.
"Come at me bro," he snarled at the equine, flaring his wings out to see if he could intimidate her at all. He wanted to see if she'd take the initiative to strike first or if she'd just back off instead.
HP:40/40
Calder has the first move.

Calder was ready. She had the dragon in her sights and was about to charge and give him a firm kicking, but just as she started to get her momentum and move over, Jericho opened his wings and Calder slammed on the brakes. Now the creature was even larger, and she reared back. "Woah." Big dragon. REALLY big dragon.

Ah, so he ended up scaring her after all. Letting out a snarl of sorts, he kept his wings flared for the time being. Calder was going to have to get over the intimidation. After waiting a little bit, Jericho snapped out at her, coming up a little short. Was it another scare tactic? Or did he just plain out miss? It was hard to be certain.

She only rose up on her back hooves when Jericho snapped at her. Oh no he didn't? Did he just try to n** her? She would show him how to bit.
Slamming back down on all fours, she let out her own 'roar', throwing her head out and giving out a loud whinny at the dragon. It was...hardly close to as terrifying as Jericho's roar was.
Kicking off, she raced over and then leaped up, going for an ear and biting on it as she then landed beside the dragon's neck. Then she started to tug. Take that!

Well that got her going for sure. Good. Though, the next thing Jericho knew was that he just got an ear/face fin thing bit by a kelpie. Snarling as that stung a fair amount, he threw his head to try and knock into her from the side.
Once he got her a little further away, he turned to face her with his head low. Snarling.

Calder fell back on her side when Jericho moved his head, forcing her free from holding on to his ear fin. Landing, she was quick to turn back up on her feet and about, only to see a very upset dragon. HAH! Now she got his attention, though those teeth....really didn't make her feel calm.
Rising up, she threw out her front hooves towards that face. It would be Jeicho's fault that his pretty features got damaged. Personally, Calder would feel bad for giving the boil a bruise. Hitting the face was rather low-belt for kelpie battles, but it was RIGHT there.

Those hooves of Calders were a bit sharper than they looked. Jericho was able to feel them hit through his tough scales after all. With another low growl, he shifted forth and tried to knock into the smaller creature with his head once again. He wasn't trying with any other attacks. Not just yet at least.

Calder felt the headbutt, and stumbled back as lights danced in her vision. That one hurt, but if Calder was anything, she was both thick-skulled and hard-headed. Shaking from it, she didn't feel as bad now for hitting Jericho in the fact. "What is with ya all? You un Christof? All head butts." She shook her head once again, Calder's voice surprisingly not different, though that didn't mean Calder's voice wasn't already ghouly. The slip of the accent was something that didn't come out often though.
Well, if he was head butting, she would do the same. Pawing the dirt, she raced back at him and dived into her own head-butt, but while she had a thick skull, Jericho had thick scales. It did not feel pleasant, and Calder regretted the attack.

"These horns aren't just for show after all," Jericho said while giving a rather draconic grin. After receiving a counter headbutt from his opponent he took a step back.
"But fine. No more headbutts," he said before he unleashed a plume of flames at the kelpie from his jaws. It was his normal fire breathing technique, not quite the one that was heavily infused with FEAR.

Fire was not something Calder would fight against. Instead, she used what she did have in her arsenal. Speed. The fire rushed out and Calder bolted, running around behind the dragon to find another spot of attack. The head was clearly not a good place to be, what with fire and horns.
"I liked the headbutts better!!!" She called out as she raced away.

Jericho let out a great laugh at the response he got from Calder.
"Can't be too choosy about the attacks you receive, Calder!" he shouted, incredibly amused. He took in a breath, then let out another jet of flames at the Kelpie.
