Rolled a Two: Rock Field: Tremors ripple forth from center-field as the basic floor shifts to a rock and dirt field. Rock towers emerge forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an advantageous attack position. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirs the loose sand on the field, creating a mini sandstorm that reduces visibility. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ROCK type attacks. This field reduces FIRE type attacks by 25 HP.

Genesis pushed her hair back, shielding her eyes as she did so from the loosening sand that were propelled towards her by the breeze. The Stadium looked almost peaceful now, with its bare, hardened field (compared to the graveyard-, volcano-, and glacier-esque fields she had come across), and she leaned against a rail on the trainer's platform, waiting for a challenger to appear.
Erebos sat beside his trainer, his posture loose but controlled, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice. It was he who would battle now, rather than Genesis' fight-hogging Rattata, and he gazed across the scene, taking in all that he could before the fight began.

Mika wandered into the stadium nervously, clutching a pokeball in her hand. She wasn't quite sure how her friend talked her into this, but here she was... with a rental pokemon in her hand. She'd feel much more comfortable with her own pokemon, but none of them were with her right now, nor were they really fighters.
Pressing the button on the pokeball gently, it grew and popped open, revealing a little joltik, that turned around and stared back at her, and she bent down to give it a reassuring pat.
She noticed the trainer on the other platform, and waved a hand, hoping to catch her attention.
"U-um, are you looking for a battle?"

"Sure am!" Genesis replied, her voice enthusiastic and her hand waving wildly at the newcomer. "Good luck!"
After a moment of waiting to let the two Pokémon get in place, she called, "All right, let's begin this with Calm Mind. Go, Lucario!"
Erebos entered the field, cocking his head cautiously towards the rental. He had fought much smaller Pokémon before and had, unfortunately, lost, and he knew better than to assume the advantage, simply because of the other's lack of evolution and stature.
And so, he kept his distance and, upon hearing his trainer's unusually friendly voice, closed his eyes and calmed himself to boost his strength.

She watched as the other trainer started the battle swiftly, and ushered the joltik into the stadium, encouraging it with kind words.
Though he didn't know her that well, Jolt crawled onto the battleground, and looked up at the lucario. Gosh he was big.
Seeing that the lucario started using calm mind, Mika took out her pokedex and checked Joltik's moves. Once satisfied, she closed it, and called out. "Joltik! Use Electroball!"
Once he received the command, Jolt rubbed his two front legs together, forming a small ball of electricity, and hurled it with all it's tiny might at the Lucario.

Genesis winced when she saw her Lucario struck. He had been paralyzed when they had first come to the Stadium, and the memory of the battle didn't settle well with any of them.
"Attack it with Stone Edge!" she called.
The familiar electricity-induced spasms caused Erebos to move jerkily when the attack him, and he was forced to stop and shake it off to continue in a more dignified manner.
Hearing his trainer speak, he paused where he was, bracing himself against the earth as rings of blue surrounded him. The light turned to shards of stone that threw themselves against the Joltik.

"A-ah, Joltik!" She had forgotten electric wasn't that good against steel, and if memory served her well, she was pretty sure rock is super effective against electric types. Not to mention they were in a rock-based stardium...
Hearing the opponent's trainer command, Jolt looked up and froze as he watched the lucario summon shards of rocks. His mind told him to run, but his legs went numb, and it was all he could do as he lifted his tiny arms up to shield against the onslaught.
"O-oh no..." Mika bit her lip. "U-um, try Discharge! M-maybe we can paralyze him!"
Bruised and battered, the joltik obeyed, and shook as it summoned up an electric current large enough to surround the lucario.

Genesis nearly face-palmed at the unfortunately-too-familiar signs of paralysis. Shocks of electricity jumped across Erebos' skin, and although she was sure it didn't hurt that much, it no doubt affected the muscles of his legs, restricting his movement.
"Hang in there!" she called reassuringly. "Try Stone Edge again!"
Erebos growled with annoyance at the paralysis. This time, it was not too easily shaken off, and he stared at the Joltik with newfound fervor. Struggling against his arguing nerves, he attempted a Stone Edge.

"Yes!" Mika did a fistpump as the paralyzing seemed to work, but it seemed she spoke too soon as the lucario was able to get in another stone edge. One or two more hits, and the poor joltik...
"H-hang in there!" she called out. "Try discharge one more time!"
Jolt winced as he struggled to stand, panting from the barrage of rocks. Squeezing his eyes shut, he shivered as it released more electricity, aiming for it to cause damage this time.

"Keep it up!" Genesis called, trying to play against the other's weakness to end the battle (and Erebos' receiving end of the shocking stick) as soon as possible.
Erebos lashed his tail angrily, the movement halting due to his condition. He wishes the Joltik would be told to attempt any other moves besides Electric but, at the very least, he was glad that it wasn't too painful.
Hearing Genesis, he readied his Stone Edge again, flinching when a ripple of shock moved up his arm.

It wasn't hard to figure out who was gaining the upper hand in the battle, and even though she was hoping the paralyzing would hinder their opponent, it really hadn't done much. Though she couldn't physically feel Joltik's pain, she was sure he was suffering.
"I-I'm sorry..." she whispered, smiling sympathetically. "How about one more discharge?"
He could barely keep his eyes open, and his vision was becoming blurry. He just wanted to rest. But he mustered up what remained of his strength, and delivered what may be possibly his last discharge.

It was obvious to Genesis that the Joltik was working on its last bit of health, that it was teetering on the edge of fainting.
"We can't afford to miss now!" she said, and although the possibility of a paralysis was on her mind, she didn't mention it. "Change tactics, Lucario! Use Aura Sphere!"
Erebos shook himself when the Discharge struck, its electricity adding to his status condition. He grunted roughly, his maw glowing with a dangerous light before he tried to let loose a ball of energy.
