The Forest The Forest is what supplies District Seven, and without it, they'd seize to exist. There is plenty of wildlife out in the forest, and some are crazy enough to illegally hunt for food.

Feliciana walked almost leisurely through the trees early that morning. She had gotten up only an hour before and contemplated going on the walk or just staying in bed for the next few hours until school started. She was glad she hadn't chosen the latter. Walking through the forest always seemed to make her relaxed and calm. Something that left as soon as she walked back into town.
Felicia looked around at the trees, admiring their sturdy trunks and healthy wood. Not yet touched by the lumber mill. She could tell which would be good for homes, what parts would be easy to whittle, and what would most likely mold faster. It was all in the growth and bark of the tree. Which told her she spent too much time around her father and the lumber yard.
Of course she had no problem with it. She'd much rather be a carpenter than sitting at home without a job. Aka her sister. Who also slept in and flirted with every other person. So yeah, Felicia would rather be with a job than that.
Sleeping in was nice, yes, but it was also a sign of laziness. And a waste of time and energy. Both of which she needed. So she'd just spend her morning walking through the forest. As she was now. Whistling a soft tune to see if any birds picked it up. Namely mockingjays.

≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ Elixa Brianne White District Seven ≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ My shoes squished lightly into the dewy green grass as I walked along the path in the forest in search for important plants to bring back to the herb shop. Of course, I was always prepared to nab a few for myself while I was at it. I needed to feed myself and the forest had plenty of resources to do so. I wouldn't let myself starve because of a few stupid rules that the Capitol created.
I wandered off the path a little ways, noticing a small strawberry patch. I felt a smile growing on my face as I approached the plant. I adored strawberries, and as I picked them, I couldn't stop myself from popping a few in my mouth, the tangy sweetness filling my watering mouth.
I could probably make good money by selling some, but I was far too greedy to want to give these delicious beauties up. After I had gorged myself on the red fruit, I continued my search for important herbs that the shop wanted me to gather.

✘ District 7 ✘ Dwight Blaine Doom The morning air mixed with the smell of pine gives me a sense of peace. I make sure that I'm far away enough so that no one could see me. I hate being around a crowd of people. I grip my axe tightly. I usually come to the woods just to be alone. To think about what life could be and could've been. And to get my frustration out.
I send my axe flying towards a pine a tree. The axe blade hits perfectly against the trunk. To my left, there's a good tree with edible bark. Call me weird, but I actually enjoy eating bark. It's different and healthy. I walk over to the tree and cut off a piece with my knife. My parents are too hungover to know what weapons I take from the house, so I shouldn't be in so much trouble.
The bark taste sweet. I think some bees might have layered honey on it or something. I walk over to where my axe is buried and slump down against the pine tree. Sitting down and sleeping sounds good. I begin to stretch my arms and yawn. I hadn't gotten enough sleep last night since my parents exchanged loud laughter and played booming music.
I'm now extremely comfortable. Getting up is probably impossible. I definitely want to take a good nap. My eyelids begin to grow heavy. I close my eyes and drift off into a deep sleep.

There's still time, 「 close 」 your 「 eyes 」xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxONLY LOVE ✶ WILL GUIDE YOU HOMExxxx█████████████xxxxxx» - - -Tear down the walls and free your soulTill we crash we're forever spiraling down ↓↓ Feliciana hadn't realized how far she'd walked into the forest until she looked up and couldn't see the sky and looked down and there was no trail under her feet. A bad habit of her's. To not pay attention to where she was going when she walked. Maybe thinking and taking walks wasn't such a good idea. She just shrugged. Oh well, she'd find her way back, usually did.
Felicia was about to turn to head back and see if she could get home before anyone woke, unlikely, when something caught her eye. It wasn't a movement but an out of place shape on a tree. She turned to see an axe embedded into a tree trunk and she tilted her head curiously. Odd
She couldn't see anyone the axe could have belonged to. At least, not from this angle. Her curiosity getting the better of her, she slowly made her way around the tree. Then she looked down and saw him. From where she had been, she'd really only been able to see the axe handle and the way the tree was blocked the rest of her view. She also had failed to notice the guy sleeping under the axe. Sounds like a metaphor She thought, chuckling mentally.
Felicia sort of recognized him from school. She didn't know his name and sort of doubted he'd know her's. If he thought he did, it was probably her sister's name. Not something uncommon to her. Sadly, it was almost too common for her. To the point that she just ignored anyone who called her Sapphire or Leo. Felicia just figured they'd get the hint or walk away.
Now it was Felicia's turn to decide whether or not to walk away. As she looked closer at the kid, not actually getting closer, just looking, she could tell he was totally out. Not to mention a bit cute. Not like she'd tell him. Just something she noticed. Plus, the only way she guessed he'd wake up was if she tried. Something told her it wouldn't be very welcomed. She'd leave him be, maybe she'd see him at school or something.
Felicia turned around, but instead of just walking off, she walked over to a low hanging branch. She needed to know the time and had no watch. The best way to check was the sun. But what good was that if she couldn't see it? As she pulled herself into the tree easily, she stood on one branch and looked up. Trying to see if this tree was better or the one next to it for climbing. She decided on the one next to it.
Staying on the lower branches, she walked to two connecting branches and, carefully placing her footing, jumped over into the tree. She was a couple branches up already and when the branch shook with her light, but foreign weight, a small shower of pine needles fell onto the boy bellow. Oops She thought. Though she doubted that would wake him. Shrugging, she made her way higher in the tree, making sure that if a. more needles fell, it wouldn't be on the kid. Or b. if she fell, it wouldn't be on the kid. Though the chances of her falling were unlikely.

✘ District 7 ✘ Dwight Blaine Doom I wake up from my dreamless sleep when a few pine needles rain down on me. At first, I'm thinking it's just a few birds and drift off to sleep again. That's when I hear footsteps on the branches above me. I'm instantly annoyed. I cant get rest at home, nor can I get it outside. I look up to see it's one of the Grendel twins. I know right away that it isn't Sapphire. What would she want with me?
My legs don't offer enough strength to rise from my tree. I angrily clutch the trunk of the pine tree, trying to get a good lift. I'm angry that this girl just had to come here. It's a free forest and everything, but I had made sure that I was far away from all the workers. My axe is still buried in the tree. I gently pull it with enough strength so that Feliciana wont lost her balance and fall. She might of woken me up from my nap, but that's no reason to hurt her. I begin to walk off from the forest, not quite sure where I'm going. Just anywhere that doesn't involve the company of other people.

There's still time, 「 close 」 your 「 eyes 」xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxONLY LOVE ✶ WILL GUIDE YOU HOMExxxx█████████████xxxxxx» - - -Tear down the walls and free your soulTill we crash we're forever spiraling down ↓↓ Feliciana looked down at the sound of someone under her. She saw the boy had woken up, and even from her height, she could tell he was a bit annoyed. She almost chuckled, though she did feel a bit guilty for waking him up. She probably should have stayed in the other tree, but that one was too easy and this served her a challenge. Also, it had thicker branches higher up so she'd probably be able to see town, or at leas the sun, by the time she ran out of tree.
Before climbing any higher, she looked down at the boy walking away and called "Sorry! Wasn't watching my footing. Oh, and your axe is due for a sharpening." She added with a bit of a smile. Then she turned and stepped back up to the tree trunk.
Felicia used the knots from previous, died off branches as foot holds and the branch above her to place her hands on. Was she her sister, climbing like this would be even more of a challenge, or impossible. But since she'd been climbing since she started walking, she had the upper body strength for it.
She smiled at the memory of her father talking about how she'd grown up. There was that saying 'You have to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run' He'd told her she'd gone from crawling to running to climbing. Which she didn't doubt really. She was pretty sure her sister had gone from crawling to walking to flirting and strutting.
When Felicia paused, she realized she'd been auto-climbing. When she looked up, the branches had thinned. When she looked down, well, all she saw was down. She chuckled and sat on the branch under her feet and leaned against the tree trunk. She could just see the sun over her, but not quite town. She shrugged, didn't need to, as long as she knew where the sun was, she knew where she was and which direction was what.

✘ District 7 ✘ Dwight Blaine Doom As I'm walking, I hear a shout from the same girl. It's not exactly an angry shout, but it's suppose to annoy me. The only thing I know about Sapphire's sister is that she's a smart one. Even though I'd like to say something back, I only keep walking. For me, it's easy to ignore people. Especially the ones that have no hobby.
When I'm well out of hearing range from the other Grendel twin, I find Elixa. Happiness is the first thing I feel. Even though I'd like to be alone, she's always the one person I can count on. "Hey, Elixa." I say. I think I might of startled her when she nearly jumps at the sound of my voice. There's probably only one reason why she's out here. "Picking some herbs for the shop?" There's a few plants that's she carrying, so I know I'm right. I do the only thing a gentlemen can do at the moment. "Do you need any help?" I ask.

A smile quickly grew across my face at the sight of him, happy that I was no longer alone out here in the forest. It could get a little too quiet out here sometimes, and the presence of someone else helped dramatically. It always felt like there were eyes on you at all times, and maybe there really was. One could never underestimate the power of the Capitol these days.
Oh, you scared me, Dwight." I greeted him with a hand to my chest before answering his request to help. I was a little annoyed with myself for being so jumpy. ✘ District 7 ✘ Dwight Blaine Doom I smile at Elixa. I'm more than happy to help her out. She always listens to me when I want to talk to her about my issues at home. "Great, lets get started." I walk over towards a bush with familiar plants I remember seeing in the shop. Pointing at it, I look at Elixa and drop my axe. She nods and stalks off to find another bush. I start to pick of the herbs carefully, making sure that I don't damage them. Elixa getting in trouble is something I wouldn't want to happen.
The bush is about halfway done when I'm finished plucking off the herbs. I cant really pick up the rest since I don't have a bag. I'm only picking them up with my arms. Elixa is a few feet away picking a few herbs when I walk back over to her. I gently lay the herbs next to her, hoping that I did an okay job. When I'm sitting down next to her, I begin to speak. "Home sucks." I cant quite think of anything else. She knows what I mean. Having parents that enjoy drinking is hard to live with, especially when you have other people making fun of you because of it. "Can I sleep over at your place tonight?" Elixa always offered me a place to sleep whenever I didn't want to be home. And I definitely don't want to sleep at my house tonight. Not after yesterdays shenanigans.

His parents were always out drinking, and they altogether seemed to forget they even had a son at times. The poor guy was always picked on due to the embarrassment that his parents caused him.
"My couch is always open to you, Dwight." I said to him with a small laugh, trying to ease the strained lines marking his face. He was really one of my only close friends, and I hated seeing him upset. I felt a deep annoyance towards his parents for their abandonment of him. I had been spared from knowing my parents before they left me on the steps to the Justice Building as a last attempt to keep their only kin alive before they passed away from starvation that very night. I knew it must be hard for Dwight to have living parents that completely ignore him half the time. ≎≎≎Mood:Concerned, Helpful≎≎≎Location:Forest≎≎≎Inventory:Herbs≎≎≎

✘ District 7 ✘ Dwight Blaine Doom "Great, thanks." I'm happy that I don't have to worry about sleeping in that hellhole tonight. I'd still have to go back to get a few things, though. "I just need to get my sleeping gear first." My parents wont give me crap at all when I walk in. It's still morning so I suspect that they're still trying to recover from their hangover. For a moment, I forget everything else. I'd love to sleep, but I'll just get some rest later. A loud yawn escapes my mouth when I hear the wings of birds flapping overhead. My stomach also growls. I'll need to get a proper meal soon.
When I see Elixa has finished picking her herbs, I start to speak again. "My clothes are at the house. I'm going to start heading home." I would help her take the herbs to the shop, but morning will end soon. After that, my parents will be up and ready for their second wave of drinks. "I guess I'll pick you up from the shop?" She nods. I'm happy I have a friend like her. Sleeping over her place is actually pretty fun. I get a better vibe there than in my home. Even if Elixa occasionally pranks me when I sleep.

"Alright then. It sounds like a plan. Let's stop at the meat shop on the way home, I have a craving for some rabbit meat tonight." I said to him, my stomach growling at the thought of a nice rabbit stew in my belly. I hadn't eaten much throughout the week, for I usually bought what I could all at once, and made it last until the next time I was paid for my work. Luckily today was the day I would earn my pay, and therefore make a decent meal for myself and Dwight. I'm sure he wasn't fed very well either. He said his farewells and left me alone to finish up my herb picking, which I did a little more quickly than I had done when he had been helping. ≎≎≎Mood:Content≎≎≎Location:Forest≎≎≎Inventory:Herbs≎≎≎

Once in a while I act like a child To feel like a kid again It gets like a prison in The body I'm living in Polly was skipping through the forest, she heard trees falling in the distance. Mouth slightly open, she stopped, seeing a baby bird tweeting that had fallen out of the nest it had been in. She picked it up gently, and cradled it in one hand. She climbed up the tree deftly, and placed it back in it's nest. Then she sat on the branch, which was thick enough to support her weight. She was pretty small and innocent-looking for 15. She swung her feet happily and looked down at the baby bird, which had it's tiny eyes closed. "Awww...are you sad that they're cutting down trees?" She said, petting it's teeny head with her pinky finger. "You miss your momma?" She said, putting both hands on the branch and still swinging her feet, looking at the ground below. She looked at the bird and smiled.
"Me too. My momma's not around much. She gives me everything I need, but she's not really...there." She smiled at the bird, her eyes all watery. She could be such a cry baby. "You have a daddy, birdie? Is he there for you? I hope so...my daddy and brother died out here. So you keep safe now, you hear?" She said, sliding down the tree. She skipped off, swinging like a monkey from a tree branch here and there. She giggled at the littlest things and cried at the tiniest things. She was so sweet and innocent and naive. She was almost never angry, it was like trying to picture...well, it wasn't really like anything else. Polly was just a tiny little doll, she always had been. She's always been a Daddy and Momma's girl. Problem was that she just didn't really have a daddy or momma.
Cause everyones watching Quick to start talking I'm losing my innocence Wish I were a little girl Without the weight of the world

But to be honest, watching his friends and his trainees suffer was not on his wish list of things to see. he knew that he would have to attend eventually, but the day for that has yet to come. Then again, knowing that both Randall and Coralie were still among the living kept his hopes high. He wanted nothing more than for them both to come out alive, and he knew that the rest of his district felt the same.
He continued to wander about the forest, enveloped in thought until a familiar face shook him back to reality. It was Elixa. Ellis wanted nothing more than to smile, but uncertainty was in his head. Before last years games, she and Ellis had been pretty good friends, but afterwards they sort of went their separate ways. It was of course not her fault. After winning the games, Ellis went into a very dark space, isolating himself from everyone he knew, a very unfortunate thing that happened to most victors. he considered turning and leaving before she noticed that he was near, but he felt that she at least deserved a hello. they had been friends after all.
Ellis walked slowly up to her and bit his lower lip for a split second before kneeling down beside her, keeping his distance. "Hey." he said quietly, not sure of what to say next, he wasn't the best at initialing conversations. "How's life treating you?" Ellis mentally slapped himself for being so socially inept, but it was the best he could do at the moment. It took a while for him to become open to people, Elixa used to be one of the few that he could trust, but it had been so long. He didn't even know if she wanted to talk to him.
