Rider
Name: K'tor (previously Katori)
Age: 37
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Wingrider
History: When Katori was born his real mother wanted nothing to do with him, as he had been conceived during a Dragon's mating flight to a man that his mother absolutely detested for some reason, luckily being born in the weyr, meant that there were several women able to nurse a newborn and Katori survived. As a result he had many women he could call 'mother' but none was as close to his as an elderly kitchen woman whom he called Nanna, she was the one that hid him when he'd been caught out in weyrbrat pranks, the one that tended his grazes when he'd been hurt after a dare, comforted him when he was afraid. Once Katori had a run in with a particularly grumpy Wherhandler pair and was lightly mauled before the proddy green had been controlled. There had been some concerns about his clawed up arm as he felt no pain at all after the accident. In time it healed and the nerves were fine but due to the scarring, after a heavy day of work it is often a little numb but it's nothing major and he can still function.

As Katori grew it was clear he wanted to be a leader, taking charge in group games and always being the one that thought up what he thought were the 'best' pranks, leading others into it. If they got into trouble however he was always the one to out himself forwards to protect his friends. However, one prank left a young candidate crippled when the joke was taken too far and before the young man could be stopped. This shocked Katori to the core because the young man, who had shown a lot of potential, was never allowed on the sands again and had hated Katori and his group of friends (which Katori drifted away from after the incident) so much, that he requested to leave the Weyr, growing bitter that the young Katori had shattered every dream and ambition he'd had. Katori never again played a stupid prank like that, and he worked harder at everything he did.

Katori stood at hatchings from the day he was allowed on the sands, time after time he was passed over and time and again it was his Nanna that comforted him, telling him that everything would be alright and his dragon was still to be clutched that was all. When the time came that Katori Stood one last time, his Nanna, though very sick, was there to cheer him (and her other charges) on whenever the wobbly dragons hatched. Katori had been giving most of his attention to his Nanna, who had been coughing a lot while they stood and waited. He didn't even notice the large bronze trotting over towards him until he was knocked flying face first into the hot sand by an overenthusiastic playful pounce.

Mine why are you looking over there when i am here.....She is sick? Well we should go and see how she is Mine but your Vulith is so very hungry so can we do that after please Mine? She will be alright until i'm finished"

Katori, K'tor as he was now to be known, shoved the dripping bronze, who had apparently hatched and ran straight into him, off him with a laugh. Leading the Bronze off, K'tor kept glancing back to his Nanna. Sometime after Impressing Vulith, his Nanna passed away and it was only having Vulith with him that kept the young man from spiralling into a depression. When Vulith was a young adult dragon K'tor had been drinking a little too much, he'd taken on a dare with a Greenrider who had a very speedy and manouverable green, boasting that whatever a Green could do, Vulith could do even better. He'd mounted his Bronze and watched as the green pulled a particularly impressive stunt involving a steep dive, ending in a sharp turn up from the ground, He'd had Vulith copy but as he opened his wings into the sharp turn he wrenched a wing muscle. The Bronze had roared in pain, thanfully he was close to the ground and landed... heavily, K'tor had sobered up the instant he felt his dragon's pain and had felt sickened at his stupidity .. there was no way Vulith would have pulled it off. After that, and after Vulith was recovered, he worked hard at training better and looking after Vulith. After a long time he became known as a hardworking Wingrider again. While he was rather happy where he was, as a bronzerider he always hoped for Vulith to catch the Senior Gold, the Bronze never did catch a Senior Gold and after the attacks on the leaders of Benden, Malvren and Trine, he felt lucky and is content to be a Wingrider, maybe a Wingleader one day but for the moment he's settled and works well where he is.

Description: K'tor is a little taller than the average rider standing maybe a head above them at the most. He's averagely built and is well muscled under his clothes due to long hours working hard and riding Vulith. His eyes are an average Hazel brown. His hair is a rich and bright brown, his facial structure could be considered very handsome by many but he doesn't really pay any mind to it much. He wears quite 'drab' clothing, not given to much flashiness unless he's attending a Gather or a Rider meeting. If he wasn't wearing his rider knots and didn't 'space out' while talking to his Dragon, you could mistake him for a minor Holder given his natural bearing.

Personality: K'tor is a proud man, if he's challenged to do something, and he very rarely backs down. He likes to bet and often doesn't have 'spare' marks, he saves enough for his immediate needs but other than that he gambles it away in one way or another, if he's been drinking, which can be often as long as he's not required on duty, he'll gamble everything, he's quite often in debt in someplace or another. He can be headstrong at times. When he is in a group he will unconsciously try and become the leader of that group, directing them and offering what he feels are better solutions that others have, unless he's been given a direct order by a superior he will always attempt to offer something he deems a better idea than those given. He often pushes Vulith a little too hard, especially when he's made a bet that involves the sturdy Bronze. He very rarely pushes Vulith to the point of injury however unless he's had too much to drink, he did once, it had put Vulith out of the air for several sevendays and he felt so terrible that he had hurt his dragon, the one thing that kept him going after his Nanna died than and the demotion from his Wingleader embarassed him. When it comes to Women, K'tor finds it hard to be faithful to just one, with his Bronze chasing Greens whenever they rise (chasing... more than catching), K'tor will find himself in bed with whichever woman grabs him first. He tries very hard to be loyal but he's a man that has a lot of love to give. He's not above lying a little to get what he wants but nothing so big that it would backfire on him too badly. Usually little white lies to encourage co-operation. When he's trying to lead a group he can be rather strict, he WILL listen to other's ideas but if he thinks his own idea is better he will ignore the advice and go along with his own idea, if he's leading in any fashion.

Other: Has a Gold flit named Mara. Sometime in his past as a rider, K'tor visited an outlying Hold that dispatched rogue felines with Bows and arrows. After seeing an exceptional display of someone firing from the weapon while in the saddle of a galloping runner, K'tor took it upon himself to learn how to use the weapon. You never knew when it might come in handy if you were caught out somewhere. It has taken him several years but he is at a level now where he is sure of his accuracy when on the ground. His next task is to do it mounted on the back of Vulith, this in itself is a task and a half as Runnerbeasts don't have wings that flap and get in the way. He's trying to work out how to fire it forwards rather than from the side as he saw the man do at the outlying hold. His first step will be to try it while Vulith is still and unmoving on the ground. He owns a rather Fancy but very well made and usable bow that he won in a bet with the bow-crafter in the Hold and he enjoys practising his Archery when he has free time.

Dragon
Name: Vulith
Age: 17
Colour: Bronze
Description: Based off a Red Fox

Personality: Vulith is a very loving dragon, he adores His and whoever His loves, which includes himself. As much as he adores His though, he likes his time alone too since he knows His is just a thought away. When it comes to chasing females Green, Gold or Crimson, Vulith just loves to chase, sometimes the catch is best but mostly the Chase itself is what Vulith lives for, daring other males, outflying as many as he can. If it's a female he isn't all that interested in then he will cede the 'catch' to a 'lesser' dragon. He knows as a Bronze, that he is more likely to win a Green than a Brown or a Blue and he likes to help others gain confidence so at times he will hang back, trailing the pack, giving them more incentive to catch the Green. If it's a Gold he is chasing Vulith is more serious than if it was a Green or a Crimson, Golds had the most potential to bear his babies. Vulith loves babies, of any species, flits, humans, dragons, he thinks they're fascinating.

Despite being loving and approachable Vulith can be very stern, he's very fast to point out mistakes in a dragon pair, be it human or dragon and he will be very verbal about it, going to far as to speak to the Rider before K'tor gets a chance to. When it comes to wing practice Vulith is VERY serious about it and does NOT tolerate silly or reckless behaviour. As easily as K'tor guides, Vulith is as fast to reprimand. Where K'tor gives chances to improve, Vulith has little temper for repeated mistakes.

Hia! This is great by and large but there are a few things to clear up.

History: This is almost all fin, but could you reword this a little:

As Katori grew it was clear he was a natural leader, taking charge in group games and always being the one that thought up the 'best' pranks, leading others into it.

Always is a strong word as is 'the best', could you tweak those please?

Appearance: No problems here, but could you specify what colour is hair is? Black and brown could both be considered average colours.

Personality: Could I have some more detail here please? A few possible points:

- How does he deal with it if one of his peers is trying to take control of a group when he is too? Will he get into conflict over trying to take control? What does he do if people just plain won't listen to him?

- What consequences does pushing Vulith too hard have for the pair of them?

- What's he afraid of, and how does he deal with fear? What does he enjoy doing in free time?

- Is he friendly in a group, or domineering? Is he loud socially/in his attempts to lead or more of a quiet/strong and silent sort?

- How honest is he? What lengths would he go to in order to get what he wants?

If you could add those details for me I'll look again; thanks!

Hey! I know we've talked on AIM but it was ages ago, and I've forgotten half of what I said so I'll start from scratch:

- History is fine, but could you add a paragraph about his thoughts regarding to the recent meta? Assassins, revolution, return of Thread and so on.

Personality:
- How does he deal with if if he's in a group, trying to take charge of it, and somebody else is too? How far will he go to try to take control?

- How often - if he is leading - does he think somebody else's idea is better than his? What does he do if their idea is better, and makes him look like a fool?

- How does he feel about the chain of command? Does he resent having to answer to his wingleader and wingsecond? Does he question them? Grumble about them?

Other:
- Bows aren't exactly common, but they're hardly so rare that he wouldn't know what one was. He might not have seen one shot before though, and certainly not from a runner's back so the rest of that is fine.

Vulith:
- His loving and approachable nature seems to clash with him also being stern. He's loving, and encourages others, but doesn't have the patience for repeated mistakes?

- How does he interact socially with other dragons outside of flights?

- How does he feel about the chain of command? Would he like to be in power, or is he not fussed by leading compared to his rider?

- You mention 'lesser' dragons; does he believe bronzes and golds are superior to others? If so, does this affect his interaction with smaller dragons?
