Ever since Azumet had learned how to fly, he had been practicing nonstop. It was like an addiction, an instinctual need even, to get up in the air and start flapping around. But it was extremely hard for him to get more than a few feet up in the air. Azumet was still in his uncoordinated foal stage. Managing one pair of wings would have been hard enough. Two was starting to look damn near impossible. But nevertheless, everyday, Azumet would climb up to his windy hill and practice for hours on end. This particular day was fairly breezy, making it easy to get off the ground but harder to stay up in the air. The young foal stood perfectly still, wind teasing the hair of his black mane and tail. "I thought the whole point of flying was to be up in the air, not on the ground." Azumet turned to glare at the Wild Dog, dozing the in shade a few feet away. Kharjak had been his protector and surrogate father ever since he had popped from his basket. He knew that the teasing was all in good fun, but that didn't mean it still wasnt annoying. "You have to time it right, Kharjak. But you wouldnt know. You don't have wings." Azumet turned up his nose, pretending to ignore the canine. "If you say so." Azumet heard him mutter. But Azumet decided not to retort. He had to focus on flying! The colt spread out his wings, trying to feel for the best moment to take off. The wind whipped about, tugging him every-which-way and using his wings as sails. Azumet tucked his wings in a little bit, trying to keep his hooves on the ground. But a particular gust of wind came surging up underneath his wings, yanking him upwards. Azumet let his feet come off the ground and flapped downwards, soaring up into the air. He hung ten feet in the air, letting the wind keep him up. The colt flapped a few times, rising a few inches more each time. He giggled with delight. This was the highest he had gotten yet. Azumet angled his wings and flapped forward, but the wind blew against him, sending the foal spiraling to the ground. Kharjak burst into laughter behind him, slapping his paw on the ground. Azumet frowned, sitting back up and shaking the dirt off. "It's harder than it looks, you know!" He pouted, stomping his hoof. Kharjak made no reply, only laughed harder. Just a heads up, my apostrophe key isnt really working.

It was hard being the middle of three brothers. His oldest always seemed to get his way first and the youngest seemed to get the most loving care. He always wondered when his father would teach him how to fly. He knew his younger brother also had wings but he hoped for a lesson alone with his father. It seemed he was starting to drift further away from his family the older he became. He was still a colt but his mind was starting to mature faster than ever a sign that he was slowly growing older.
At the moment he was deep in the forest taking time away from his family and the needs of his brothers. Since one was mute things were hard sometimes and it seems his other brother was slowly growing blind. He had no idea why these things were happening but he turned to alone time to solve them. He was roaming the forest his detestation clear he was determined to fly and he hoped today was the day he might meet someone who would help him or teach him. Learning by himself would be hard and pointless he needed someone outside of his family to rely on.
Eventually he came to a huge clearing with a huge hill to one side of it. He thought he saw shapes on the hill and he started to run wanting to get a better look. As he neared the hill he saw another colt but he seemed to have for wings..? Wait..was he looking right? Sure enough the colt had four wings and was trying to fly. It was a funny sight seeing four wings flapping at once and a small colt trying to rise a frustrated look on his face. Titan then noticed some sort of animal watching the winged colt and giving advice to him.
He seemed to understand the colt from the moment he saw him. He as himself wanted to fly but neither of them knew how. Could they help each other to fly? The thought struck him and he bravely walked up the hill to great the colt and his companion.

Azumet, too busy trying to get back in the air, did not notice the other colt walking up the hill towards them. The wind had died down, leaving him with the task of supplying his own lift. This was much harder for him, as his two pair of wings didnt always work in tandem with each other. While one set supplied lift, the other was either getting in the way or trying to move the colt forwards. Azumet was able to get a few inches off the ground, on good tries even a few feet, but without a breeze he could never hold it for long. Kharjak, however, heard the strange horse coming as soon as it grew within earshot. He jumped up, racing to stand between Azumet and the newcomer. His hackles stood straight up, and he bared his teeth menacingly. A vicious snarl ripped itself from the canines throat, rumbling like a lion. Azumet started at the sound of Kharjaks snarl. Snarling meant danger. Danger meant running. But Azumet, growing ever more curious as he aged, could not resist the temptation to turn and look at who their attacker was. Wings folded in a sloppy and hasty manner, the colt whipped around to view the face of evil. The face of evil, it seemed, was about his size and almost pure white. Not only that, but it had wings too. If Azumet didnt know any better, he would have said it was another foal, like him. And since Azumet really didnt have a better explanation for what it was, then a colt it must be. "Kharjak, I think thats just another foal." He whispered, starting to feel embarrassed by Kharjaks reaction. "He could be dangerous." The Wild Dog retorted, gritting it out through his fangs. Azumet rolled his eyes. He was getting too old for this kind of protection. At least he thought so. The colt stepped in front of his guardian, face bright and sunny. Kharjak barked in protest, but he ignored the dog. "Hi there! Im Azumet. Who are you?" The foal asked, short tail twitching excitedly. Behind him, Kharjak gave the stranger a cold glare, muscles ready to pounce if he attacked.

What was going on?? As he got closer to the top of the hill he could hear a growling and snarling coming from above. He would never admit it but at that moment he was scared he had never heard anything like that before. He almost turned back but he shook his head and held his breath taking a few more steps to reach the top of the hill. He almost rolled down in shock when he saw the colts companion baring his teeth and snapping at him. He was cowering now not sure what to do scared that the creature would surely attack him. He slowly lowered himself into a tight ball of colt his wings spread over his head in defense. The last thing he saw was the other colt getting up and running to him for some reason or another. Were they both going to attack him? He peaked out from his wing and saw the colt from the corner of his eyes his wings were folded sloppy and feathers were floating all around him.
He slowly stood up pushing the growling creature to the back of his mind. He still spread out his wings in hopes of scaring it so it would stop growling at him. He was more interested in the colt than anything now being face to face eye to eye with him. He noticed he was brown and he had never seen anything like him before. What type of animal had for wings? Was he really a colt? He saw the colt step in front of his companion and Titan stood his ground wanting to meet this new stranger "Im..Titan.." he looks uncertainty from the colt to his companion "What is that..?" he eyes the snarling creature but quickly looks away "Its nice to meet you Azumet" he nods trying to maintain himself

Azumet threw Kharjak a nasty glare as Titan cowered. Azumet didnt often get to meet new Soquili, and now Kharak was ruining this rare chance for him to play with one of his own species. He was scaring Azumets new friend! "Look friendly!" He whispered harshly. "Oh, this is just Kharjak. He may look scary, but hes actually really nice. Right?" Kharjak gave Titan a closer look. It seemed that Titan was just another colt, like Azumet, but you could never be too careful. The hackles fell, muscles relaxing. Kharjak plopped down into a sitting position, no longer a snarling menace. His eyes had lost the cold glare, but they were still wary. "Pleasure to meet you, Titan." He said coolly, ears pricked forward. Azumet gave Titan a bright smile, determined to keep him from being scared away. He readjusted his wings, folding them properly. A few black and white feathers still stuck out at odd angles, but for the most part they laid flat and smooth. Azumet stared at the colts tail. It looked like the tail he had seen on mountain lions, not ones that normal Soquili had. His head titled, enthralled at the strange appearance of it. "So...what brings you up here to my hill?" He asked, eyes switching back and forth between Titans face and tail. So, Azumet is gonna learn how to fight in a little bit. Does Titan want to learn with him?

He manged a weak smile as he slowly tried to push his fear of the creature away. He was at the edge of the hill now as he watch the foal say something to his companion. He was still weakly smiling and then noticed that the foal was speaking to him now. "Whats a Kharjak..?" he was frowning never having heard of such a creature before "Why do Karjaks like growling at other things..?" he was still scared but his interest in this foals companion was slowly taking over "Are you friends with it?" he eyes the Kharjak and then looks back at the colt finally taking in more than his four wings. He was sandy colored unlike himself being pure white. His eyes slowly wandered to his companion that had stopped growling but was watching him very closely "Does your Karjak think im going to hurt you..? Im only a colt like you!" he finally smiles at Azu nodding "It is very nice to meet you to..Being around my brothers gets boring they never let me met anyone and always chase me when i wander off on my own..They think i cant handle myself"
He looks at the sky and thinks "I bet there looking for me right now in fact..I hope they dont find me" he nods and looks back at Azu and his Kharjak noticing Azu was smiling at him in a friendly manor trying to fix his wings. "Do you know how to fly? My father is yet to teach me" he smiles at the thought of his loving parents especially fond of his father. As his thoughts slowly came back his eyes wandered to the colts four wings again. How hard it must be to fly on four he thought flying on two was hard! He had tried to teach himself but he always seemed to end up face planted on the ground "I was in the forest and i saw something in the sky..was that you? I came over here and saw you had wings so i thought it was you in the air.." he slowly thinks of his question before now having answered it Azu did know how to fly..but he was not very good at it. That would be wonderful! It would be great if he could learn with his new found friend! Become closer to him in the process

Azumet burst out laughing. "Kharjak is his name, silly! Hes a dog, they live in the desert." The colt giggled again. This new friend was funny! "As for him being a growly-butt...." Kharjak cut him off. "I was growling because I thought you might be dangerous, Titan." The Wild Dog replied. He smiled at the white foal. "But you're right. Now I see that you are just as harmless as Azumet." Azumet glared at him. What was he talking about, Azumet could be perfectly dangerous! He always won their wrestling matches! As long as Kharjak let him, of course. Azumet fluffed his wings. Finally, someone who could appreciate the delicate are of flight! "You betcha I know how to fly! Well, sorta." He was tempted to brag, but he had learned about what bragging could do on his trip to the jungle a few weeks ago. "I can get off the ground and fly around a little bit, but not very high." Azu explained. He felt a little jealous at the mention of Titans brothers and family. He wanted a family. Maybe if Titan had a lot of fun with him, Titan could come back and visit! An idea began to form in his head. "Well, if your dad won't teach you, maybe I can teach you!"Sweet! I have Nekolulu's Syn to teach them aerial combat and Roarie's Hototo will be teaching them basic fighting and defensive moves.

He frowns at Azu before lighting up and laughing with him "Im Sorry Khar! I thought that was what you were" he blushes some clearly embarrassed "I have never heard of a dog before" he nods and turns back to face them again watching Khar speak and nodding "I guess its only right for you to worry but i dont think a foal would even try to attack you or another foal..unless they were super scary" he keep his eyes on the dog and grins "I would not attack Azu! Or you! I think we could all be friends or something" he is beaming now at the thought of someone new to rely on and be good friends with. Someone who his brother would be amazed to meet and wish they were him. He was already dreaming of flying with Azu "You can fly??Even a little is something" he grins again
"I saw you flying in the air..i cant even do that at least you can get into the air..i just fall face first on the ground every time i try" He wondered if this little colt had a family like he did "Do you have a family..? My parents wont really care if im away for a little while they never do" he nods again "Really?? You would teach me??" He spreads out him wings in excitement almost hitting Khar in the process. He stands tall and makes himself look big "I bet its amazing to soar through the air.."
Awsome! That sounds great! ^_^

Kharjak ducked to avoid the other foals wings. He chuckled softly. "It is quite alright, Titan. I understand your confusion." The wild dog smiled at the two colts. "I will be over here you need me." The canine went back to his spot in the shade. He didnt go back to napping, but instead rested his head on his paws, keeping an eye on the two colts just in case. Azumet completely ignored his companions departure, too excited to have a new friend. "I would love to be friends! I dont have any family except for Kharjak, but one day I dream of having a whole ton of friends! And we would all live together in the same place and play all the time!" The Angeni foal could barely contain the joyful energy building up inside him. This was going to be a great day. Maybe the greatest day ever! "Of course I will teach you, Titan! Friends are supposed to help each other, right?" The tan colt smiled, ruby eyes shining bright with happiness. Sweetness. How was your Thanksgiving?

Titan smiled at the dog glad he understood him "Why do dogs growl so much..?" his eyes are full of curiosity as he asks the question but then he watches Khar walk away to a spot of shade watching them both as if he was guarding Azu. Titan turned back to face his new found friend still smiling and modding "I dont have friends but i think we can be best buddies!" he holds out a hoof "I will always be your friend no matter what" he nods beaming "I hope Khar lets us be best buddies he seems..grumpy" he laughs dreaming about living with a bunch of friends and having a blast "It would be fun to live in the same place! We could play tag or even hide!" he nods again "Hoping my brothers dont find me and ruin all the fun they do that sometimes" his thoughts of this foals parents and family were at the back of his mind now the least of his worries.
His wings suddenly flew out and he was lifted off the ground for a brief moment " Really?? You mean it??" he then realizes that he was floating for a second and his eyes grow as bright as Azu's "Did you see that?? I floated!!" he is grinning from ear to ear with happiness. Not only did he find the friend of a lifetime he found a teacher on top of that. Nothing could ever ruin this perfect moment this was the moment of a lifetime. It was great! (Sorry for the slowish tag)

Azumet giggled. "Dogs growl when they're grumpy, and Kharjak is always grumpy." The foal whispered, another giggle bubbling from his lips. "But hell be our friend too! Friends of friends are friends too!" The smile slipped from Azumet's face as the foal tried to make sense of what he just said. After a few seconds, Azumet decided that it didn't even really matter in the first place, so he changed the subject. "See! You're already getting the hang of it, Titan!" The tan colt smiled, prancing around to stand next to his friend. "The trick is to let the wind lift you up with your wings. Keep them spread out, like this." Azumet let his wings unfurl, keeping them halfway in, forming a cup. He angled them in the direction of the breeze. "Once you feel a good breeze starting to lift you up, extend your wings out more and let yourself soar up into the air!" Once more, the foal was lifted up off the ground. Not wanting to show off to his new friend, Azumet let his wings relax and he dropped down to the ground. "Now you try!" OHMIGOSH latelatelate tag. We were having router issues, and the only internet I had was on my ipod using my school's wifi. So sorry! EDIT: Titan grew! He looks gorgeous!
