Zurine was lost...again, it was becoming a bit of a habit to be honest this getting lost thing. She had finally managed to memorize the route from her dorm to the Monster halls main entrance and other important area's but the rest of the campus was still somewhat hit or miss when it came to the Padfoots ability to find her way around. Perhaps if it wasn't quite so large and rambling she wouldn't have had such a hard time - her own family tended to stick to a very specific territory back home. As it was however Zurine seemed to spend most of her day bumbling about, awkwardly attempting to familiarize herself with this new territory she found herself in.

And right now..right now her attempts weren't going so very well, it seems like she had managed to wander a bit farther from the main school grounds then she had meant too and now she found herself staring at what looked to be a large forest in front of her. "I'm pretty sure I didn't come through a forest" she mused mostly to herself and while she didn't always have the greatest memory she was as least positive that she would have recalled walking through there. Maybe she should invest in a map...

Of course to get one of those she would have to find her way to the maul from here and that was likely an impossible feat... probably best to just find her way back to the school for now. Since she was sure..absolutely sure that she hadn't wandered through a forest earlier then she turned about to head back the way she had come. Maybe she'd just missed a side street earlier when she'd been gawking at the sights.

Petro had just come out of the forest, dragging a net filled with bunnywunnys behind him. The tikbalang had a habit of roasting the minis as a snack and needed to replenish the wren every now and again. Amongst the struggling bunnies, there were also a stray teddyweddy and a puppywuppy or two but Tro's main prey was the bunnies. What? They were delicious!

As he emerged, the tikbalang spotted a familiar face. Oh! It was that ghoul from acting class! The one their professor had kicked out. What was she doing here? "Heya," he called out as he hefted the net of minis over his shoulder. His stance was open, non-threatening, at least that's how Petro considered it. He didn't consider the possibility that the metal-wrought leg-bracers and arm-guards he sported coupled with his height made him look intimidating.

Zurine was not expecting to hear someone speak out from behind her and she might have jumped just a little bit at the sound of the voice...and then she tripped over a jack damned root in the pathway because she'd been too busy looking over her shoulder to see who had spoken then keeping an eye on where she ought to be putting her feet. Meeting someone after just being dumped on her butt was hardly in Zurines book of 'greatest meetings ever' but she was willing to roll with the punches and laughed a little bit at herself while she picked herself up and attempted to dust off her clothing.

"Sorry" She told the boil whom had called out to her, only now getting a decent look at him "I wasn't expecting anyone to come out of the woods" She explained away her startle. Though if anyone was to come out of the dark looking woods she supposed he would likely fit the bill of what she would imagine - with the leg bracers and arm bands...and ..was that a net full of..animals..slung over his shoulder?!?

Zurine was suddenly a little bit uneasy..just what sort of boil had she managed to run into around here? Sure his greeting had seemed friendly enough and she was pretty sure his face looked vaguely familiar from the school though she wasn't entirely sure. "So uh..what are you doing out here?" She asked with a slight motion towards the net full of mini's which she couldn't help but keep flicking her gaze towards.

The horse monster in his human form blinked his brown eyes when the ghoul tripped. He wordlessly offered a hand to the ghoul to help her up but it looked like she didn't need his assistance. That's fine, Tro wasn't going to cause a fuss over something so trivial.

"What're y' apologizing for?" he asked, curious and confused. He'd found most of the students at this school liked apologizing a lot. For things he really didn't think needed apologizing for. At her question and the gesture to his latest haul, he his hold on the net while he pulled his other hand back to rest it against his hip. "Was checking my traps. Caught me a good number'v snacks," he grinned, lips pulling upward to reveal teeth. It was a friendly smile as far as Tro was concerned. The last thing he wanted was to frighten or upset a ghoul.

"Well for..falling I suppose..or being startled..it doesn't really make much sense now that I think about it but it seemed like the right thing to say at the time I guess." The Padfoot replied with a slight shrug.

Of course her face paled a bit at the boils next comment which was commendable on her part really given her already rather pale complexion. "you're..you're going to eat them?" She squeaked in a slightly horrified manner - oh sure she wasn't stupid enough to think that some of the monsters at the school wouldn't enjoy such things nor that the food they served nicely packaged and already dead hadn't come from a once living creature...but it was something else to be faced with a net of still squirming live..well what she would consider pets really - that were destined for a stew pot. The boils toothy grin wasn't helping the mental images she was having either and Zurine blinked her large red eyes at the boil and reached up to scratch one of her long floppy ears in an attempt to gather some of her thoughts before she said anything too foolish. Oh gosh some of those bunnies had ears almost like hers!

"but..but they're..cute" She finally managed to state "I mean...I guess they're not foxfires or anything but ..." she let her voice trail off somewhat at a loss for the proper words.

Tro sensed the ghoul's anxiety and wondered why exactly she was acting so skittish. "Yeah, 's why I said they're snacks. Dunno 'bout cute but they're really tasty! I can give y' some leftovers if y' don't mind food like that," he offered, attempting to calm the ghoul down. The scratch to her ears didn't register to Tro as an indication that she might be finding herself relating to the minis rather than to him.

"Ain't ever had foxfire before, but I heard they're more wisp than meat," he mused, completely oblivious that perhaps this sort of topic was not to the ghoul's liking.

Zurine could only blink at the boil before her, it was clear that he didn't understand the point she was trying to make and he obviously didn't consider anything wrong with eating the net full of minis he had slung over his back. Perhaps if she had been born in a time where her family still hunted actively for their food she wouldn't have much of a problem with it either - but Zurine had been sheltered from the necessity of such things by growing up in a more modern setting, she couldn't even recall having killed and eaten anything in her animal form which might have made her a bit more sympathetic to the boils remarks.

No as it was Zurine could see the net full of woodland creatures as nothing less then 'pets' and food and pets were just words which didn't belong in the same vicinity of each other - at least in the context the boil was putting them into. Her eyes widened further when he said he would even be willing to eat a foxfire, which was like the epitome of cuteness.

"I..I think I"ll pass" She finally managed to tell him "I just don't think I could eat anything that I saw alive first..." She finally confessed to the boil.

Petro was a practical boil who, despite being capable of appreciating something for its aesthetics, wasn't likely to spare a minipet if it could be eaten simply because it was cute. Perhaps if he had formed some attachment to it, or if the minipet in question already belonged to someone, then Tro would leave it alone. But wild minis were fair game and Tro felt no remorse for his actions.

When the ghoul turned his offer down, he tilted his head at the "alive" part of her reason. "Huh. Y' don't get to eat much then," he mused, rubbing his chin in thought. "Or do y' mean y' don't eat meat? 'Cuz I can make a mean veggies-kebob," he suggested as an alternative. When the bunnywunnys inside the net began to kick at his back, Tro didn't so much as bat an eye as he casually dropped it to the ground then hefted it back up. That should stun them some.

"No..I mean I do eat meat..its just I don't normally see the poor creatures alive before hand you know?" She was pretty sure he didn't "And then have to think about how they were so cute and alive before I ate them.." She finished lamely, well thats what you get when you live a relatively sheltered life now isn't it? A disconnection from where food actually come's from, i mean sure in the back of her head Zurine knew that the meat she ate met the exact same fate as the ones in the net would..but for some reason it was different this way.

Of course when he dropped the bag on the ground she squeaked a little bit "Oh don't hurt them!" She begged the boil "I mean..your already going to eat them..shouldn't you treat them at least somewhat kindly until then?" She asked. "Are you really going to eat all of them.." She finally hazarded as she lookedat the net "Theres an awful lot of them in there..." Maybe he ought to let some of them go.

Petro could hear the words and individually he could understand them. But in the order the other ghoul was stringing them? It. It just didn't seem to add up in his head. Poor things? Hurt them? She ate meat, why would she be so concerned about treating them kindly? "Gotta keep 'em from squirming too much somehow," he quirked a confused square-root brow at her.

He looked down at the bunnys in the net then back to the ghoul, fixing a wary gaze on her, "Naw, not alluv 'em. Some I share with my friends," he explained.

Zurine was starting to think there was no way that she could get this boill to understand what she was getting at, as far as he seemed to be concerned the pile of squirming animals in the net were pretty much a collection of bunny legs and puppy kabobs. It was a terrible image really and Zurine grimaced a little bit as she pushed it out of her mind.

"Well..I suppose its good that none of them will go to waste at the very least..." She finally ventured "Cause I mean it would be a shame to deplete the wildlife if you weren't going to actually use them.." She went on decided to maybe try a different track. She rather hoped the boil at least killed the poor creatures quickly to lessen their suffering but she didn't feel comfortable enough to ask that right off the bat and she was slightly afraid that he might go into details about how exactly he did so - and that was just something she really didn't want to know about.

Petro looked affronted at the suggestion that he was taking more than his fair share of wild game. Square-root brows furrowed and brown eyes narrowed at the ghoul whose name he still didn't know, Tro snorted, "My Clan don't like to waste things. Was taught to take only as much as I need." He shifted his hold on the net and shifted his stance, indicating he was going to move on soon. "'M gonna head back to campus now."

He was, of course, unaware of the padfoot's plight. Namely that she was lost and didn't know how to get back to the campus. The little declaration was mostly out of politeness' sake rather than an actual offer to show her the way. He didn't want to simply walk away from their conversation. That would just be rude and he'd been taught better than that.

During the course of their conversation and Zurine's sorrow at the plight of the poor creatures trapped in the net Zurine had managed to quite forget about her own problems...until of course he mentioned that he was heading back to the campus.

Sadly this also happened after she had so clearly annoyed him with her comment - though she hadn't meant too. It seemed a bit to creepy to just sort of follow him back without saying anything and so annoyed with her or not Zurine decided to ask anyways. "Oh..um..do you think maybe you could show me the way back?" She asked with a bit of hesitation "I was wandering trying to get the lay of the land..but I think I wandered to far" She explained further.

The boil quirked a square-root brow at the ghoul, he had gotten the impression that she wouldn't get along with him. But here she was asking for his help? If there was one thing the tikbalang could never say no to, it was a ghoul asking for his help. "'S no problem. Y' oughta leave trail markers next time y' wander, though," he suggested. He'd taken a few steps forward before he briefly introduced himself, "'M Petro." He was looking at her from the corner of his eye, waiting expectantly for her to follow. The tikbalang wasn't going to just leave her behind.

When the boil greed to show her the way back Zurine gratefully hurried to catch up - of course when he mentioned leaving trail markers next time she realized that she ought to have thought of that herself, it seemed that she had been so excited and ready to explore that she hadn't stopped to consider taking precautions like that. Well...she'd remember for the next time right?

"Zurine" She introduced herself and while she was still a bit weirded out by his squirming bag of cute...food..she none the less felt it necessary to thank him for his help "And Thanks, I'll remember that advice for next time" She assured him.
