His reasoning was that they were expecting him. If they hadn't been, Veer would somehow have found his way to the front door, to ring the bell and wait to be let in. Sure, he probably would have cheated a bit, finding his way through the mirror in a nearby McDonald's or corner store...

He wouldn't have done this without some expectation. Just enough time taken to make sure he wasn't stepping through on anything private, and then he slipped through the mirror, dropping back into civs in the bathroom almost before his feet hit the floor.

A moment's pause, a turn. He checked his hair in the mirror, the fit of shirt across his shoulders, tucked the tongue of his belt down through a belt loop. Only once he was sure he looked good [better than good] did he step out of the bathroom.

"...yo?" It was loud enough to slip through the apartment, and he paused to listen for a reply.

Lydia had not been going on patrol when the Mauvian aura washed over her, she'd been standing in the kitchen, reading the back of a box of brownie mix she'd intended to make for desert for the night. It made her blink, head raising as she looked around the the apartment, then gasp as the tingling sensation spread through out her and the room began to grow.

Or more precisely, she began to shrink. It left her squeaking in panic, and for once she didn't give two shits how damn embarrassing the sound was.

For a moment or two she sat there gaping at her.. paws. Tail flicking irritably at her hip as the fur along her spine began to raise along with her nerves and apprehension. She was cat, a cat! She wasn't supposed to be a ******** cat!

When the shook had worn off enough to move, she'd immediately gone looking for Quinn, and her furry little mouth hung up as she realized the other girl was just as small and fluffy as she, and camouflaged. It had dark ears folding back, and whined as she sat back on her haunches and watched her roommate bounce of the bedroom mirror. "This isn't good, Leto."

Further debate was immediately cut off by the sound of Veer's voice floating through the apartment and Navi(her fur really did reflect that coloration far better..) cringed. "s**t." She watched Leto slip out of the room, and followed a few paces behind her, ears folded back unhappily against her dark head. Eyes narrowing in disbelief as she watched the other cat rubbing herself along the young man's leg. What the ******** was that about?

Her chin lifted, and she turned an almost accusatory glare up at Veer from where she sat just outside Quinn's bedroom.

Leto was doing everything in her power not to burst out laughing. Her tail swished only slightly as she stood at his feet until he crouched down in front of her. When his hand was held out, she instinctively pushed her head into the ear scratch.

God damnit. Stop it stop it stop it! Her brain was screaming at her to stop acting like a cat.

She cleared her throat, and took a few steps back from him. When she sat on her haunches, her long slender tail wrapped around her paws. "Veer, it's me..." Her head nodded in Navi's direction. "And Navi."

Veer'd met talking cats before. He'd seen them in the first battle, the one where he'd learned his new position -- and since then, he'd met up with Dahlia in private, had made some time to talk to her. It was no longer something crazy a new.

That didn't mean he was used to it.

When Leto-cat spoke, it made the hair raise up on the back of his neck, hand twitching back. That voice out of that little cat was freaky as ********, made his eyes widen and all of him go tense. The addition from Navi-cat made it even worse, his mouth falling open a bit, struggling to come up with some sort of appropriate reply.

It took him a bit. Mouth opened and closed like a dying fish, his eyes still too big, fingers twitchy a little. "...um. Um."

He looked back to Leto, grounding a little. "...um. I think I could take you in a fight now."

The tip of Navi's tail flicked to and fro as she lwatched Veer staring down at them in utter shock, and somehow she didn't feel the slightest bit of sympathy for him. As Leto said, he wasn't the one tiny and covered in fur.

She did turn her attention back down to their team leader when the volume of the other girl's voice rose to alarming levels, and hazel eyes widened at the raised line of fur and bottle brush tail. "Leto." Getting to her paws, the bi-colored feline moved to so she could butt her head against her roommate's neck. "We might be cats, but we're still bad a** Dark Mirror Senshi, right? And Bad a** senshi do not have panic attacks about being small and fuzzy." Hopefully.

A small sniff of amusement followed Leto's rebuttal. "I think she could still take you." Honestly she wasn't sure, but it was a far guess. Leto was kind of on the ruthless side, and though she'd never been at the receiving end of the other girl's fists, she never wanted to be either. For sparring or for real.

Another bump of her head connected with the camouflaged cat as her ears drooped.

Leto was very aware of the fact that she couldn't mirrorwalk, her forehead still sore in the spot that hit the glass when she tried to jump through the mirror in her bedroom.

She let out a tiny, irritated huff when Navi tried to calm her down. The line of fur flattened down her back, but her tail remained a long poof of camoflage fur. She closed her eyes for a moment, nuzzling into the friendly gesture when Navi butt her head into her neck.

"Badass Senshi. Right. But what if we're NOT badass Senshi anymore? What if this is permanent?"

The fact that Josh, Veer and Pascal were all still human only made Leto panic even more. Her poofed tail was lashing back and forth in the air, her expression clearly unimpressed and very frustrated.

"You need to tell the rest of the court that we're cats. Especially Ares, if you can get a hold of her. I can't get to mirrorspace like this. Maybe she'll know what happened or what to do..."

Or maybe she wouldn't and Leto would be a stupid useless cat forever and ever.

Leto flopped onto the floor and rolled onto her back, her front paws stretching out over her head, toes spread and long sharp claws curling out.

Being a cat was ******** weird.

Leto's tummy looked so fluffy and adorable; some part of Veer wanted desperately to lean down to dig fingers into her fur. He had a feeling that'd be inappropriate, though. Awkward, once she was no longer a cat. Like things weren't awkward enough already....

"Um. I don't think I can take a person through, so, uh. Not a cat either, right?" It was questioning, though, lilting and puzzled. He hadn't pushed the limits of what he could take through the mirror with him, not yet. Presumably Leto would know better than that.

"And....and I don't know about Ares. She didn't seem to like me much." He cleared his throat and shoved hands into his pockets to keep himself from doing something stupid.

Pale eyes followed the movement of her roommate as she circled around Veer's legs, and another reluctant smile slide along furred lips. Their situation might have been very alarming, but clearly not so much that they couldn't mess around with their teammates. Navi's affection for the other girl swelled a little more.

Apparently they could go through the mirrors if they had someone powerful enough to take them, but only four of their team had that ability, and at least one was a cat. One was their queen, and she was likely busy. One of the senshi Leto mentioned she didn't even know yet. That left Requiem, but Navi couldn't say that she'd really spoken to the other super sense they'd all returned from mirrorspace that first time. Reminded of all these facts, the bi-colored cat's shoulders slumped just a little.

She listened intently as Leto went on to address Veer where their queen was concerned, but a spot of ruffled her along her side grabbed her attention and held it. She tried to ignore it, but but the urge to smooth it down again was absolutely undeniable, and eventually she succumbed. Ceasing the motion only when Leto had once again addressed the pair of her trainees.

"I don't know any of the guardian cats personally. I met a few in the surrounding, but they were both in the outposts, so I assume they're with the white moon." She didn't even know the name of the one that had given her her sphere and name. It had been too chaotic, and the grey cat had been there and gone in the blink of an eye.
