The siren had gone out to practice his vocals as usual, and maybe even swim later on. The haunted house was still lingering in everyone’s minds, but for the siren, he was doing his usual blocking it out. Seeing Lucien had helped with ‘getting over it’ and the monster was now back to his normal routine of going out to practice looking attractive, (not the hardest thing to do), and singing, (very hard to do). He’d gone for a rather fluffy white poof jacket for the outdoors, the season’s change making the air crisper and colder. While it didn’t bother him so much-
He just liked the fluff of the jacket. It didn’t help that it made him look like an oversize white foxfire, sans limbs. Okay, not the most attractive but cute could get people in too! Now to just work on his singing- And not have his voice crack.

What Israfel failed to notice was in a nearby tree hung a tatter brown coat, a skirt, a pair of black stockings, a silver coin belt and a shirt. Underneath these items was a pair of boots with gloves sticking out of them. Because while many creatures shied away from the cold and everything that came with it there were still some that thrived in it, one that was chasing a doomfish through the water with awkward quickness. Awkward quickness meaning sure, she was fast but she hardly looked agile and sleek about it like the rest of her family and other selkies older and more experienced than her.
The doomfish was ignored the moment large turquoise eyes caught sight of something moving near the water's edge, something large and white and fluffy. Ah! Oh no! What was that?! Was it a bear?! Sibyl came up enough long enough to exhale the breath she had been holding in and gulp up a lungful of air before disappearing under the water's surface again, just staring up at the Great White Bear while frantically flapping her front fins and trying desperately to stay under the water. Wait...waaaaaaait! That wasn't a bear at all! It was a person!
A new friend.
Her breath escaped her in bubbles that floated to the surface and disturbed the already shifting waters from her attempts to stay under as she let out a happy bark underwater and popped her head up above the water, just enough for the fluffy white-coated person to see a pair of wide turquoise eyes staring right their way.
New friiiiiiiiiiiend.

Ohhh? What was this? As Israfel heard the slight splash of water he looked for the source… but hardly managed to see anything. At least until he looked directly down. “Hello.” Teal eyes were met with bright blue as Israfel smiled. A seal? What was a seal doing in the lake? Seals belonged in the sea. This was just silly to have them in the lake. The fluffy coat fell around him and he leaned over the lake. “You should be in the ocean, not a lake. There are less fish in a lake then the sea. Much tastier fish in the sea as well.” Earwings flicked back and forth with curiosity.
“But that is alright I guess. Seals was very nice. They are also very pretty and funny. Oh wait-“ It just hit him. “Are you a student here? What kind of student are you? Is that your natural form?” he was curious, eyes wide and staring right on back.

The other person--male? female? She couldn't tell yet--came closer and her eyes somehow seemed to get wider. Sibyl blew bubbles into the water as she giggled at the winged one's observation. Well, yes. She should be in the ocean but she couldn't be right now! But they were very right. The ocean had much tastier fish..and back home had penguins. Thank whatever human was scared of penguins~!
They continued to speak to her and she suddenly disappeared under the water again, though only so she could swim closer and pop up on the shore. She was small and fairly chubby but hey! She was still growing! Though it was clear she was having a bit of trouble when she bounced and flopped like an awkward ball of blobbyness until she was out of the water. "HIHIHIHIHIHIHIHI!" She finally said, her little seal mouth grinning slightly. "Uh huh! Uh huh! Uh huh! I'm Sibyl! And I aaaaaaaams a Selkiiiiie~. Like my bestest friend in the whooooooole wide world." She flapped her short little front flippers as she said this. "Can you help me? S'kinda hard to get my coat and stuffies from here." Normally she didn't care if anyone saw her changing but that was because she was used to her family. Her family would never steal her skin. She pointed up at the clothes hanging above her and flapped a flipper at her clothes in an attempt to point.

Eyes lit up as the seal flobble wobbled onto the shore. Personally, Israfel thought it was the cutest thing ever. Right up there with foxfires and scareon babies. She? Yes it was a she judging by the tone of her voice. Ear wings flickered around as she asked him for her things. It was no trouble for Israfel who left his coat behind to fly over the the garments.
"I am Israfel, a siren!" he chirped, picked up the things. "You are a student then?" Flying back, he almost dropped a boot into the water. That would have been bad. One boot was worse than no boots in a way. Setiing her things down he sat on the shore. "Selkies are very nice.Sometimes the swim by the island I was born at, chasing after fish and things. My mother was jealous of their seashells" Wings folded behind him. "I just thought it must be fun to swim like that."

Heck yeah it was the cutest thing ever. She shook a bit, baby-blubber quivering as she flapped her little front flippers excitedly and watched her new friend fly over and get her things. EEEEEEEE! Flying! So cooooool! She wanted to fly, too! She even flapped her flippers again as if that would make her fly.
No dice.
When Israfel introduced himself and asked if she was a student she nodded her head enthusiastically, her entire body moving with that simple action. As he returned with her clothes she flailed her little flippers again. "It is nice to meet youuuuu! Yep yep yep! I'm a student now~! Just like my Marzie." She didn't seem terribly upset that one of her boots nearly fell into the water. So what? She was a sea monster. She could easily just jump into the water wearing all of her clothes and not care, she just preferred it in her natural form. "It's very fun! You should tries it sometimes, yis! I lovelovelovelove to swim yes yes. And if your mommy wanted she could have asked! I have lots of shells and pearls and kelp and stuff!"
Thankfully everything was brought back dry, and her fur began to take on a gray..almost translucent quality. It stretched and it pulled much like latex gloves being pulled on or off until suddenly a head of hair peeled out from inside the top of the seal's head. It was soon followed by a very human looking face with large, spotted freckles along the underside of her eyes that curled up to the corners. A single arm pulled itself out from the skin to reach for her shirt and pull it over her head before freeing her other arm and putting it on properly. The skin was pulled down further and more clothes were added until a small ghoul sat on the ground wrapping the seal hide around her shoulders followed by her hooded cloak.
The last thing she did was reach into one of her boots and produce a string of pearls and a few colorful shells, weaving them through her hair before finally putting her boots and mittens on. She stood then, wobbling slightly on her feet with an embarrassed giggle. "Changing is weird. But...YAY HI!" She then threw her arms around her new siren friend in a tight hug.
