Well, ********. Where had time gone?
Cellen grimaced as his teeth gritted together in a fierce clench. He was disappointed with himself, ashamed even, that he had become distracted from holding true to a promise he had given 'Snowy'; Erebus, the white fighter of Huntingdon Settlement. His ears pinned against his skull as an irritated growl rippled from out of his throat. He had no one to be argy-bargy with other than himself and the feral recognized that. As his large figure stalked through the brush and the elaborate designs blended into the underbrush and foliage, the feral's nostrils flared; he inhaled deeply as the familiar scent of a forgotten friend whisked along the passing breeze.
It was uncertain how Erebus would react, even acknowledge him, yet the feral would brace for whatever would arise---come what may. Erebus had every damn right to disregard him or even want nothing to do with him. Admittedly, it would certainly be a loss of a bloke whose company Cellen rather enjoyed yet agency to the initial reaction was to be solely left in the paws of the domestic fighter.
Slipping through a hole bore the wear of consistent use as a means to infiltrate Huntingdon, Cellen crawled through and upwards. As dirt and debris clung onto his fur, the feral gave a thorough shake from head to tail. The hanging tendrils of his scarf whipped about, catching the breeze in attempt to nearly fly off from around his neck. Exhaling with a snort, he proceeded toward the house where the fighters scent all but saturated the air.
"Erebus," his voice called out, edged with its typical gruffness. His ears erected upwards, leaning forward with curiosity.
His wolfish tail swayed slightly as he mindfully padded outside of where he and his human resided. Resistant to leave, as well as too stubborn to do so, the feral settled down upon his haunches and waited.

Erebus was in the yard, Dorian made a sort of entrance where he and Nefertari could enter and exit at will into the yard. Probably not the brightest thing he had done, but he had converted the room where they entered into the place where they could sleep when they were home in that little area. So at least if they got dirty outside, then they wouldn't drag it through the entire house.
Something strange tickled his nose though and he pushed the gate open. Learning to open things was starting to become rather easy. So he snuck out, stopping the gate just before it would click shut. He couldn't fit through Nefertari's hole and he didn't want to widen it. Sniffing again he knew he recognized the scent and was a bit startled, that soon turned to anger.
Now of all times he wanted to show up. Now?! It had been weeks since they last talked. He had waited patiently for his friend and nothing happened. His fur bristled. Well when he found Cellen, he'd be sure to give him a piece of his damn mind.

The waiting felt more like waiting for an impending sentence---a hell of a punishment that was soon to barrel over him and beat his a** with a damn good lashing. Eerebus was a strong fighter and there was a certainty that his temperament and intensity was going to bear down on the feral for the delay as a result for the broken promise. But come what may---Cellen deserved it.
Around the front of the house, Cellen could hear shuffling. His ears swiveled, head cocking slightly as he peered towards the adjacent side of the house. A breath heaved into his lungs and slowly exhaled from out of his maw in a wreath of fragile mist that plumed about his muzzle. There was a restlessness that stirred inside of him which drove him to rise to all fours and stand. As much as he would rather stay seated and wait for Erebus to come to him, it would be more fitting for him to approach the white male; a prodigal friend returning to hopefully strengthen and renew their friendship.
Or at least get the s**t beaten out of him in order to both validate and officiate their friendship once again.
Without further procrastinating, Cellen proceeded towards the yard. His posture was nonchalant but bore a rigid motion as he walked forward. Hell, so much time had passed between them. Granted, Cellen wasn't the same physically but he was still very much the same Mokai but he was damn determined to be a better friend.
"Erebus..."

Erebus snarled, the sound coming out like a hiss. His white fur was bristling as he glared at the male. Cellen changed it seemed, but so had he. "You dare use my name feral?" He growled, the sound rumbling in the ground. He was doing his very best to seem like he was very angry at the male but it was somewhat hard. "How dare you come back to the compound. I should turn you in now. Maybe they'll chain you up or something." He lifted his head in a haughty manner. "I could care less what they did with you as long as I can use you as training practice. I rip you limb from limb."
That was the last of it before Erebus couldn't hide the smile spreading on his lips as he burst out laughing. The laughter took him so hard that he fell to the ground, rolling. "Your face." Words almost incoherent as he rumbled with the sound. "Gosh Cellen."
It took several moments to regain his composure. How glad he was to finally see his friend again. "Seriously, what took you so long? I almost gave up on you. I even had puppies with Ai in the time it took you to get back here."

The others voice was like a tumultuous bellow that sought to split open the very earth beneath his paws. With such a strong demeanor and a powerful presence any other Mokai surely would have been on the verge of a ******** meltdown or found themselves teetering toward an absolute breakdown. Amongst the fighters cold spell, Cellen stood there; pursing his lips rather thoughtfully. His ears swiveled inquisitively as he noticed the serious facade cracking ever so slightly. His chest tightened as a rather degenerating look managed to muster itself across his face. He pitifully pouted, pushing his lower lip outward just enough to cast a rather innocent and fear invoked face which, unexpectedly, had caused Erebus to collapse onto the ground in a heap of fur and limbs.
Likewise, Cellen couldn't help but chuckle. Laughter was contagious, after all. The rumbles that escaped from out of his chest ceased as he found stability once more. A broad grin stretched across his face while, behind him, his tail swayed with an upbeat pace.
"It's good to see you Snowflake," he smirked. The feral gave a single nod of his head if only to acknowledge that which was said. "I've had a few run-ins. It's been a bit rough, rougher than usual that is, but things are starting to fall into damn place."
And that they were. With having escaped successfully from Huntingdon and living amongst the unruly wilds with his mate, Reisx, Cellen was now starting to feel that he had found his footing, his place, within lifes ever changing screenplay. A breath of relief exhaled from out of his maw as the unseen weight lifted just a bit more of its burden from off his shoulders. It would seem that both feral and domestic were continuing to thrive and even have puppies---
Wait.
His eyes widened slightly. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. You and AI...you're a dad? Damn, time definitely has passed since we last ran into each other." Cellen shook his head. "So when did this take place and where are the pups now?"
He had so many questions and damn it, he needed answers!

Erebus was all to happy to see the feral. The other's reasoning as to why it took so long was understandable. Life tossed things in your path and you'd have to go with it. Like the saying said, 'Roll with the punches' was a mantra he knew. At least now anyway, Dorian said it a lot.
"I'm sure its all sorted out now though, right?" The white male gave a curious look to his friend. Hoping that he'd see more of this feral. Either while he and Dorian were out or while he was here. "I would sure like to see you more often if we're going to stay friends. You can't just come in once or twice a month." Giving just the barest hint of a threat to his friend, grinning the whole time.
The shocked look on Cellen's face nearly made him double over with laughter. "Yes me and Ai. Three pups in all. I only have one son. My human brought one one of the girls. She's about as energetic as they come and a terrible handful. If I turn my back she's already into five hundred things. Another is with Ai, the last one, found a home with a decent family and a little girl. Nearly threw me off my feet when I saw him."
He felt so proud. "Only problem with little Nefertari... she seems to be friends with an enemy of mine. Imnir, dunno if you've heard of him." Then he looked at Cellen, a hard look. "Do you know another feral named Reisx?"

A grin pulled at the corner of the feral's maw. "Sorted and managed, Snowflake. But I give you my word that I"ll come by here without a damn hesitation. I'll keep my promise to you as well as to the other promise I made to someone here." Between either promise, Cellen didn't have any intention to break them--if anything, he wanted to not disappoint either of the two. There was a determination that had become a scorching inferno when it came to holding to his word. Granted there had been a setback due to his own fault with Snowflake but that would be remedied: Cellen would see that it would be.
Somehow, his grin seemed to broaden just a bit more before it transformed into a cheeky smirk. "Well, well, well. Then congratulations are due then," he laughed. "Perhaps one of these days I'll run into your pups. If anyone should have puppies it would be you and Ai. You two have a hell of a bloodline and those pups will create a damn legacy around here."
Admittedly, he was envious but perhaps both he and his mate would have their chance sooner or later. The aspect of being a father seemed to be a hell of an undertaking but, with it, would come a slew of rewards.
His brows arched slightly. Cellen pursed his lips, "Imnir, huh? Haven't heard of him. What's the background on him? If he's causing hell then you know I'll stand behind you and your family, Erebus." The next question seemed to throw him for a loop. Cellen's ears swiveled slightly. A sheepish grin seemed to catch hold of his maw. "Dark colored female whose covered in spots, very sly, and infiltrates Huntingdon regularly? Hell, I would hope I know her: She's my mate."

Erebus was startled by that fact. "Your mate!? Well, now that's an interesting turn of events. Nef seems to be going crazy. Maybe Reisx would like to be an aunt, she seems to be good with pups. Hurry up and have some already." He teased, "Everyone will have one before you do."
The fact Cellen hadn't heard of Imnir wasn't all that surprising. "I'll give you a warning though. If you run into him, be careful. He's not like me Cellen. He's not like Ai. I'm sure he'll turn you in or worse."
The white male was worried for his friend, even being here was dangerous. He wasn't sure what mokai would allow a feral in the grounds other than him and Ai, or Nef, but he didn't want to risk anything bad happening.
"My pups would love to meet you I'm sure. Nef would be more than delighted to meet her uncle." He grinned.

The sly feral was admittedly a bit coy when it came to the details that construed and wove the mysteries about him. And what was the reason he had been so shy to admit that he had a mate? Well, it still felt surreal to him. There was a guilt that surfaced at the back of his mind for not filling in Erebus on a prevalent detail yet, at the same time, Reisx had made him aware of those with ill will who called the settlement their home. His natural guard and forefront wariness had only elevated with what he had learned, even witnessed, within Huntingdon. As with most things in life, their true facade was often distorted and, deep down, there was goodness yet it was not enough for Cellen to feel comfortable.
A cheeky grin stretched across his maw. He chuckled, "Well hopefully we won't keep you in suspense too much longer---sooner or later there's bound to be a hell of a surprise. I wouldn't mind having some ankle biters running around."
Timing. That's what he was waiting for.
For both he and Resix to be parents now seemed as if it was not the opportune time. There was enough of a mess which they had to sort through, loose ends which needed to be tied, and until those issues could be addressed it wouldn't be ideal to bring new life into a world which their own parents were trying to make heads or tails of. And with this Imnir roaming about it seemed that there was too much at risk.
The way that Erebus spoke of him made his hackles rise and his teeth bare, lips pulling away from his gums with disgust. Individuals such as that bloke were the reason Cellen could barely tolerate Huntingon. Sooner or later, someone was bound to knock the blighter from out of a supposed 'alpha' mentality.
Rather than dwelling on the that side issue, Cellen nodded in agreement. "I'd love to meet her along with all of your pups. I'm sure they're spitfires just like their parents and will be hellions in the ring."

A smile spread across the white mokai's face, "I would sure like to see some more small ones." Then he looked away from his friend, staring at the sky. "They'll do great in the ring I'm sure..." Though there was a hint of regret in his voice, as if this wasn't the sort of life he'd like for them. "Maybe I'll set up a meet with her, though she may be going out into the wilds with Dorian one of these days. Though, be wary of her. She's my little trickster."
