Another battle another rush of adrenaline. She thrived on it, the being away from home away from her mother's pawing about her needing to practice being a lady. When was her mother going to understand that she could not be both male and female. She wasn't going to switch either and accidentally reveal herself. Every morning she would have to wake up early to bind her chest so it was flat the she would practice with her sword to keep her skills up.
The only chance she got to put those skills to use was on the battle field. Racing into a battle like she was now brought her pleasure. Sliding through the mud under someone to stab them in the back. Pulling the sword from that person to slice at the belly of yet another enemy. The Connor clan, that was who she was fighting now, it was whom her clan had been fighting for the past year or so. All over a land dispute, but she didn't care. All teasing about being scrawny and small stopped when she was fighting. She was quicker and more nimble. She easily dodged blows that would wound others. She raced forward through the enemies cutting down whoever walked into her path.

Wandering through trees of green, the grass between my toes... listening to the birds chirp and the distant but familiure howl
"...... James ....."
I recognized the name but did not care, I continued listening... resting on my stave trying to find the source of the howling
"..... James...."
The name again... but was it mine? i did not care... the environment began to move faster around me now... propelling me forward... toward the howling... Blood...
"James!!!!"
I awoke with a start... in a forward command tent in Hammerfell, the desolate boarder land between the Connors and O'Riley's.
"James... it is time"...
My eyes focused and i recognized his voice Alicio... my long time master. I rose quickly... reaching for my staff. Alicio left the tent quietly and i followed him out.
My senses were quickly assaulted by the sights and sounds of war. While the command tent was set up a good distance from the actual fighting, the canyon amplified the sounds such that you felt like you were there. The O'Riley's had been putting up quite a fight, and it appeared that the Connors were losing ground.
"James... It is time for you to prove yourself in a real conflict... the battle is there... go, and make the Connor's proud. I will be watching".
Heeding my masters command, I began to run toward the front lines, eager to put my skills to the ultimate test.

Movement to Ira's left caught her eye. She could see her father racing by as a wolf towards a group of men who were in the process of shifting. Ira gave a bark of laughter as she watched him barrel into them. Then something else caught her eye movement from a tent just to her father's left. A clean dressed male from the Connor's was too close to her father. Most likely and assassin. Ira raced forward searching to protect her father.
Giving a loud yell she announced her engaging of the male. "Die Connor!" she exclaimed.

James quickly determined which part of the line was doing poorly so that he may adequately determine where his presence would be most needed. A young looking O'Riley was clearly cleaving their forces in two on the right, while a older looking O'Riley had recently engaged Connor forces to the left.
Alicio's voice range in his ears "I will take the elder wolfling"
The decision made, James turned toward the the Young one. Just as he did, the young one shouted something inaudible. Spinning his staff around into a defensive position at his back, James' head raced for the right course of action. This young O'Riley was charging him and james felt the best course of action was to blunt this attack.
Defense spinning his staff around, James plunged it into the ground. a small fissure began to form and from that a crack shot out toward the young O'Riley, hopefully, throwing him off balance long enough for an effective counter attack.

Ira smirked as the male from the Connor clan prepared to defend with just a staff. Her teeth even in human form could have ruined it she thought cockily. When he spun his staff around she thought he was going to try and block her sword when he thrust it into the ground and a fissure formed heading towards her. Moving to one side she continued to move towards him.
The ground shook stopping her in her tracks. Right away she could tell something was off. Unfortunately she had no more time to think as the ground where the man had split it, split wide pulling her and him down into it depths. It was dark as she fell growing darker. When she landed it was hard beneath her and she lost breath for moments. Coughing and sputtering she sat up and summoned her magic to her hand.
A small flame lit itself above her hand hovering there and providing light. "YOU IDIOT!" She yelled spotting the man she had been about to fight "what made you think that was a great idea."

james coughed a little as he rose to his feet, his head spinning from the fall. As he rose to gather himself and his surroundings he saw him, the young O'Riley from earlier. James hoped that he had not been noticed and readied his staff to defend against a blow he knew was sure to come.
"You Idiot" The words stung. The O'Riley was right, James knew better than to use such an advanced spell from a field of magic he knew next to nothing about. For some reason though it seemed like a good idea at the time.
"Look, Unless you would like to be buried alive, we should really try to find a way out of here. We can kill each other then... alright?"

"OH and how do you propose we do that. Obviously we can't climb up that wall, cliff. Whatever the hell it is." Ira exclaimed sheathing her sword. "Stupid, Idiot. I don't even use that magic and I know better." she grumbled. She walked a bit further looking up to see if she could find a way out that would be possible.

"I understand your consternation, Perhaps there is a way out of this that does NOT involve you chopping my head off?
After three tries James was finally able to light a piece of moss that he found on the canyon floor. using his powers he guided this flaming moss around the room trying to find a way out.
"Do you smell that?"

Ira rolled her eyes at the man. She would have to see if really needed his head by the end of this adventure. She watched him try to light a piece of moss unsuccessfully at first with a snort of laughter. "Smell what? You? Yeah everyone can probably smell you." she replied but took a sniff of the air to be sure.

:"Ill have you know sir, that these robes are freshly pressed and recently sewn by the finest tailors in all on the Conner family!" "i assure you that that smell is NOT coming from me. Perhaps your miniscule O'Riley head can wrap itself the fact that a smell like that could mean only one thing"
James carefully observed his moss to see that there was a breeze moving through the hole they were sitting in, and that the breeze may be coming from a way out!
