Arcadie had never kept a single pokemon before in her life, and though twenty-one seemed an awkwardly late age to start the practice, circumstances ordained that she had no choice but to do so. Fortunately, the trainee's initiation in Team Rocket had coincided with the passing of an agent who had kept a veritable menagerie of the creatures, and there had been no shortage of pokemon to comprise her new team. The Spinarak, Mise, preferred to be left to himself despite Arcadie's efforts to befriend the little spider. The Arcanine, Charmant, was far more demanding of her attention. Exercise was important for the species, she had been told upon receiving the pokeball. Exercise, exercise, exercise - it seemed that was the only word she was hearing at her rank. Even the word made her legs ache from the running she associated with it.

Fortunately - fortunately! - Charmant was accustomed to carrying passengers! 'Exercise the Arcanine' became a much more enjoyable task when it came with the bonus of riding on the back of a giant pink fire dog. What the woman failed to take into account, however, was 1.) she was completely unfamiliar with Kodo, let alone the places Charmant liked to go to run, and 2.) she had never ridden an Arcanine before. The trainee could only hold on for dear life as her doggy steed sprinted onward, expending enough energy to carry them to the outskirts of the city.

"Waaaaah, Charmant, s'il vous plaît arrêter de courir!" she wailed. She'd been calling similar pleas intermittently for some time, but the Arcanine would not heed - quite possibly because she was not used to receiving orders in French, but Arcadie's frantic thoughts could neither imagine the possibility nor wrap around any language but her native tongue.

Today was a slow day. A remarkably slow day. Guy just didn't have the motivation to go out and do something very active, so he voted to spend his day sitting in the sunshine. He still had his sword at his side lest he get the sudden urge to go chop up some trees or something to that extent. For the time being, he was more than content to just have a quiet, relaxing day, and he was sure that he Pokemon would say the same.

It was certainly the case with Anonymes, at the very least. The little Lampent was having a ball of a time just roaming around and playing with his teammates. More specifically, he was currently in the process of teaching the newest member of their team, the odd-looking Pignite whom Guy had dubbed 'Paleman,' how to play patty-cake. The confused pig Pokemon tried to follow along with Anon the best that he could, and whenever he got messed up [which was startlingly often], Paleman would just clam up and be even more difficult. Anonymes was insistent, however, and he kept struggling to make his newest friend learn the simple hand-game.

Oki, on the other hand, was not having the best of days. Having been stuck with guard duty for Leucetius, the ever-volatile Jolteon, the Zoroark had to spend most of his time running after the endless ball of electricity, flagging him down to make sure he didn't pick any fights or kill anybody. It was long, tedious, aggravating work, and Oki was getting fed up with Leuc's cocky attitude about it. Leucetius, in fact, was also having a grand old time this day. He got to run around and burn off some energy, and he had managed to bully a passing Pidgey out of its Oran Berry, which he had wolfed down with malicious pride. He was sure he was grating the Zoroark's nerves at this point, and he was only too happy to push the envelope further if given the chance.

Yes, it was a regular, normal, peaceful day, and Guy could see nothing out of the ordinary. That is, of course, until he heard the frantic shouts of French from a short ways away. Perplexed, Guy sat up and looked about the area, trying to ascertain the direction the shout came from. Out of the peripheries of his vision, Guy caught a glimpse of a rather large, rather pink Pokemon racing along with a rather distressed-looking woman riding on its back. Guy's brow furrowed somewhat as he finally placed a name to the brightly colored Arcanine. That was ... Charmant, wasn't it? That was Miss Aila's Pokemon. But that didn't look like Miss Aila - at least, it didn't seem like her from the distance Guy was at.

Now more than curious enough to investigate, Guy stood up and faced towards the running pair. He yelled out a hesitant greeting. "...Miss Aila? Is that you?"

The call attracted the Arcanine's attention, bringing the large dog to a sudden halt that roughly jostled her rider. Arcadie slipped off Charmant's broad back tiredly, all but collapsing into the sand, only for the fire-type to begin moving once more at a steady pace in the direction of the source of the too-familiar name. The girl cried out melodramatically after her former steed, "Noooo, don't leave me heeere!" before hauling herself to her feet and following.

Charmant reached Guy before her human, placing herself a short distance in front of him and staring appraisingly. Who was this to just shout her trainer's name like that? Who was he to call on her as though she were here? The fire dog soon recognized his face and lowered her head slightly. She still didn't approve, but her current trainer wasn't too far behind. Dragging her feet as always, that girl. She would have to shape up someday soon.

"Mon dieuuuu my legs are jellyyy," said feet-dragging girl sobbed when she had finally caught up with her runaway pokemon. She heaved a sigh and regarded the stranger her Arcanine had approached. Hot damn did he have a few pokemon. Oh, and he was kind of cute too, wasn't he? It couldn't hurt to wipe away that sulky frown and give him one her award-winning smiles, could it? "Hello, sorry, Doggy's got a bit of pent-up stress." Charmant snorted offendedly and turned her back on the girl. "Were you calling to me?"
