Rolled a three: Grass field: The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustles the flat grassland arena that has replaced the default stage. Small clouds of harmless pollen fly through the air from the breeze. The land is completely flat, making maneuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS and BUG type attacks

Doyle walked into the stadium. He and Genesis had talked about training together and figured battling each other would be a good way to do so. Ark was out of her pokeball and walking besides him. When she saw the grass field she darted in and began rolling in the grass. Once done she stood up and waited for the battle to begin. "Ready for this Genesis?"

Genesis entered the stadium at the same time, dressed now in one of her multiple outfits. Battles were more frequent here nowadays after the incident, and she didn't want to risk being seen.
The field was nice and grassy, the scene starting different from her last view of the town. She shot a glance at Erebos, her Lucario who was always out of his Pokéball, signalling him to enter.
He nodded, but before he could take another step, the Poké Ball on Genesis's side wriggled madly, and Leto popped up. Seeing the field, she excitedly ran over to it, her small body and rat-like nature making her much quicker on her feet for shorter distances than Erebos. Before any of them could do anything about it, the small Pokémon and set foot on the field, and the battle begun.
As Genesis often found herself doing in Leto's presence, she face-palmed.
"Don't have much of a choice now," she said.

"Interesting choice Gen!" Doyle called out seeing the Rattata come onto the field. He looked to Ark and nodded. It was time to teach the rodent who was boss.
Ark gleefully ran up to Leto. <> She barked out before being the battle. She jumped back and sharpened her claws with Hone Claws

"If a choice is what you can call it," Genesis muttered. Still, there was little that could be done about it now. Resigning herself, she settled back with Erebos. To be honest, she didn't have much hope for Leto, but it was too early to give up now.
"Leto, use tail whip!" she called.
Leto, unaware of her location, ran jubilantly towards the Zorua, wondering if she had come to her senses and realized what a blessing it was to have Leto on her back. Before she could confirm with a leap towards the larger Pokémon's back, however, she spoke, and her ears twitched curiously.
"<<Battle?! Okay!>>" she replied, although she still thought them in an average field, not a regulated one. She readied herself then, eager to show off her no-doubt legendary-worthy skills.
She was about to leap forward for a sharp Hyper Fang, but Genesis had other ideas apparently. Frowning, but remembering the responsibilities that came with taming a human, she settled and whipped her tail back and forth as she was told.

Doyle noticed Ark about to sharpen her claws again but called her off. "Ark Fake her out!" That was code for using Fake Tears.
Ark complied and seeing the tail whip began tearing up. She began making whimpering noises and acting like she was crying. Including laying down and covering her head.

Genesis frowned. She wondered if this was going to be a battle of status changes, rather than one of physical strength.
"Leto, use another tail whip!" she said for, despite her earlier thoughts, she'd still have preferred a more even playing field.
Leto raised a paw to her cheek in worry, ears twitching mournfully at the tears.
"<<It's okay!>>" she consoled, whipping her tail about some more. "<<I won't kick your a** too hard!>>"

"Now!" Doyle yelled as Leto let down her defense just a little. Ark shot up from her laying spot and unleashed a dark shock wave. The Night Daze attack was pitch black and moved quickly towards Leto. < > She shot back darting away.

((Pffff I was going to tell you that you forgot to change to +100 Attack and then I read the rest of your post. XD My bad!))
Happy that things were getting a move-on, Genesis returned with a "Leto, Rock Smash!"
She was sure Leto had taken a hard hit due to the Zorua's honed claws, but she was hoping Leto would retaliate with one just as hard.
Leto cried out when she was hit with the unexpected attack. She was sent into the air and sprawled on her back when she touched earth again, a dark flick all she had seen of her attacker. Until said flicker turned to Ark.
Fuming, she rolled to her feet and hit a large, loose rock towards the Zorua.

Doyle silently cheered when Ark's attack hit. He winced when the rock hit her in the front shoulder. "Do it Ark! Counter!"
Ark, after sending Leto flying, didn't let up. She was already on the move heading for the rodent. However the flying rock stopped her for a moment. The pain was intense but with a shake of her head she moved in. Hearing the command she quickly used Counter.

((LOL oh god. OTL The sad part is that I actually remembered to consider the stat changes here. It was the base damage I forgot. @_@

Unlike Doyle, Genesis watched with a hardened gaze when Ark's attack hit Leto roughly, no doubt a critical hit. It was not uncommon for such attacks to occur, and the faster Leto got used to it, the better.
Still, it was no good to have her stand around a sitting duck. "Use U-turn! Now!"
The attack wounded Leto gravely, and she was thrown about even higher. Her squeal of pain was cut short when she collided roughly with the ground, and she stood shakily.
But despite her wounds, her demeanor didn't change. She still wanted Ark to accept her as a rider, and she would still fight for it, no matter how much it hurt her now.

Doyle was not pleased with the amount of damaged the U-turn did. "Counter attack Ark!" He shouted out.
Ark was badly thrown to the ground when hit with the bug type move. She stood up slowly, unwilling to give in to this rodent. She quickly retaliated and struck back with Counter.

Leto wanted to win. She wanted to win desperately. It was not only her fate that rested on such a result, but Ark's as well. She had to win for them both! Who knew the turmoils the Zorua would go through once she realized she would forever lose Leto as a rider? The nightmares that would keep her restless when she realized there was one less Rattata out for her back? Oh, it was all simply too terrible!
With a throttling cry, she ran towards Ark, disregarding any words Genesis uttered, intent only on winning. Ark was weakened, she was close, and all she had to do was use the field to her advantage with another U-turn! But Ark came in contact with her first, knocking her back with a force that allowed no rebuttal. Her vision dimmed quickly, and then she was out.
Genesis raised her brows at Leto's latest move, from her screaming to running to being knocked out in a matter of seconds, before her eyes trailed to Ark. She hadn't expected the rat to win, but she hadn't expected her to deal so much damage, either. If she had been able to get in one more attack, she was sure the results would have been different entirely.
"Good battle," she said, Poké Ball in hand, retrieving Leto as she spoke.

Ark stood over the fainted rat panting. It had been a hard and close battle. But she had prevailed. Which meant that Leto would no longer ask for rides. It was perfect. Ark went to walk over to Doyle but didn't even make it one step. She fell down, exhausted.
Doyle seeing Ark down recalled her back into her ball. "Great job Ark." He whispered before looking at Genesis, "It was a good battle. I thought for a moment that Leto was going to win." He gave Gen a grin and then began to leave. "Guess I'll see ya around Gen." He gave her a wave and exited the stadium.
((Sure go ahead. Doesn't matter to me who posts the form. Don't we both get the points for it.... even though everyone else keeps having both partners post. XP ))
