Thomas stood inside the train station. He looked out the window at the other buildings of District 12. I'm really going to miss this place. Thomas thought. He started to think of everyone he's met in the last few days. Their faces flashed through his mind. He glanced at the other tribute sitting on the other side of the room. She looked upset. "Hey are you okay?"

 Chuck Dalton THE STEPS OF HAPPINESS WERE LONG GONE
AS I WALK TOWARDS OBLIVION •·.·´¯`·.·••·.·´¯`·.·• I had found my way to the train easily the route now being so familiar to me that I could walk it asleep or drunk. Drunk being the more common of the two. The tributes had arrived momentarily and together our party stepped off the platform and into the metal train that will take us to the capitol. I don't dilly dally at the door though and I'm immediately in search of some of the glorious capitol brew. It's not long before I find a bottle and a glass and I bring it back to the room where my two tributes sit. I stand in the doorway for a minute before I make my way in.
I set my glass down on a table and sit down next to it. Pouring myself a glass I don't speak until I've had a few sips of the stuff. It is much richer as everything is that is from the capitol and I've missed it. It also works much better than the stuff that I have which is probably diluted with water. The familiar burn down my throat is welcome and with it I'm ready, or as ready as I will ever be, to face the next games.
I set down the glass and cross my legs leaning back. "So, do you two have anything I can work with? Hidden skills you've picked up, a way you might want to present yourself, or something I can use to maybe produce sponsors?" I honestly don't know anything about them expect for what I picked up at the reaping and that stuff wasn't exactly top notch. I take another drink of alcohol and top off the glass with the bottle.

Thomas glares at Chuck. "Well I'm pretty good at sarcasm. Does that count? No. Thought not." He said irritated. Leave me alone. I don't want to talk right now! Thomas thought to himself. "You aren't going to leave me alone so I guess I have to tell you. I'm pretty good with a bow, I can set up good traps, I can sneak pretty good. Is that enough?"

I looked around as I got on the train I sisghed as I looked out the window at the last time I might ever see it. Well now is a good time as any to plan my tactics.I went over at what I should learn and what I am good at.Running great.Quietness great. Smileing great. Climbing trees ok needs good amount of work.,shooting bows great,camoflauge bad.Dodgeing ,good.Cooking,needs some improovement but not bad.snares ok.Then in the middle of thought the tribute Tomas asked her if she was ok."Yeah Just scheaduling how I should win and all."Ginger smiled likeing that he cared.
After she said that the mentor came in.Ginger smirked at his question.She listend to tomases answer then answered herself."I am great at running and being quiet infact I am the fastest person in my grade!I am good with the bow and arrow like him. And many other stuff but thats my best."ginger said smileing picturing she was talking to her sister Maya."Ginger looked out the window again as the train took off.I turned my head not being able to see anything out there."So what is your advice?"Ginger said smileing perhaps hideing how scared she feels.

Thomas looked out he window again and listened to Ginger talk. Naive little girl. She'll probably be one of the first to go. She has no clue what it means to survive, to be hungry and cold. She doesn't know what it's like to be on the brink of death. Why couldn't She be someone who know's what to do? Thomas thought bitterly. He sighed and shook his head.

I looked around and saw not even her own mentor was listening.Gee thanks guys she thought to herself.I looked around.I though hmm ovisouly they didt like how peppy I talk like.So I know how to play it Ill act like I didt even knowtice."You know its funny I feel like we can actually win this thing if we plan correctly."Still saying it with a peppy smile like she would usually do."You should really watch the other reaping of the tributes today it will help you know there tactics."i said just plane given up deciding to talk with a smile like she usually does but to get down to buissness."We really can win this thing just by looking at the tributes.like 2 years ago I actually guessed and was right about who would win and who stands no chance."I grabbed the contoller that back in district 12 were few of.Then I turned up the volume and watched."See any one who volunteered are preety ready for this thing of course but some of them have a quick slight frown rethinking quick about volunteering but then they go back to a smile reasuring them selve.I know because that is somewhat what I did but of course I didt volunteered.Those people are cocky enough but not to cocky that they could actually win.While me on the other hand Perhaps I should be a little more confident."I looked at him"Your listening you know You learn alot if you went to school of course more about penem but 25% is about social life and you learn from the teachers to how they act."

"I suppose I could leave you alone to fend for yourself, but I think you'll find it difficult to gain sponsors especially if you are this vulgar to everybody." I say and pick up my glass again. I take note of what he believes he is good at though and leave him alone from there. I wait ill there is a pause before offering my advice.
Now Ginger on the other hand gained a smile from me. "Now that's what I'm talking about." I'm pretty positive she will be able to present herself in front of the capitol very well. "My main advice is stay away from any bloodbath. That includes the beginning of the games at the cornucopia. Since you're fast Ginger you could probably run in and grab something, but sticking around is not a good idea." The smile she has on her face is a bit unnerving, but if that is how she tends to cope who am I to argue she'll need that for the coming days.
"Other bloodbaths include feasts or gatherings by the gamemakers." I add knowing how tempting those can be especially when you are desperate. "Water is top priority though and you'll want to find that as soon as you get away from the cornucopia." That is the gist of my advice. I glance skeptically at Thomas wondering what he could possibly be thinking. This isn't some game to be taken lightly. It is life or death.

I was going to continue when the mentor finally spoke up.A sigh of releif when I heard the advice he gave me. I smiled of course again but then while in thought I went to a exspressionless face.Then I said"Ok so dont stay around for any type of bloodbaths but at the beging do grab something quick and run. Then find water. Ok now is sleeping in the trees the best spot to sleep or should I not.If I do have to sleep in the trees I have to get better at climbing it."Then I thought about the many other terrains there is and it was wierd Ive watched them almost my whole life because of the stupid capitol now Its my turn to die or thrive.I thought trying to keep a straight face to stay serious but finally giving a half smirk.I thought to myself man now my parents dieing really did permentally damaged my exspressions.I sshrugged it off and let it be.I decided to go with the serious exspression that tends to be the only outher exspression that I can do in most circumstances.
Then I remember why when my parents died My older sister was not around at the time she was out hunting and I had to show my younger sister maya that we were serious that everything would be alright then aventually I got into the wierd thing about smiling now I do it preety much every time I show any exspression and even bigger when a time of distress.

Thomas shook his head and chuckled. "Why should I take advice from a drunk. I'm pretty sure by tomorrow morning you won't be able to remember any of this." He never looked at Chuck as he talked. He did glare at Ginger though. "Do you really think we can make it through the games? We are the most under fed, unprepared district in Panem. We couldn't win even if we tried. So can you do me a favor and stop being such a Kiss-a**?" Thomas stood up and walked over to a window. He looked out and wished he could see Talia again.

I listened to what Thomas said and nodded it was true about not remembering this but he didt have to say it to the mentor.Then her mouth dropped quick then went back up.And then she got it in her mind what she would say."You know maybe if you spent your stupid last moments on planet earth like you said we wont win enjoying what you have right now and coming up with a plan perhaps we could be the last few people or even we could win."I said getting fed up with mr.downer."You know what."I took the controller and threw it right above thomases head hitting the window and braking."You whant to play it like that I will to.Were do we sleep?"I said with a half smile now.

Thomas listened to what Ginger had to say. He opened his mouth to say something when the glass shattered but did not fall from the frame. "I was looking out of that!" Thomas growled. He clenched his hand into a fist and punched the window. It cut his hand as it fell from the frame in a million small pieces. He looked at his hand and saw a few cuts. Thomas turned to Ginger. "Don't get pissy with me! All I'm doing is telling it how it is! If you want to be delusional go ahead! But don't do it around me!" He yelled.

I was just so outrageed I havent yelled at someone for a long.I should have stopped but I didt."I will do around you if I whant to."right when he called me delusional I took up my fist and flung it towards him stopping right when it got near his nose.I cant I will be escecuted for herting a tribute before it happend."Your lucky that I didt knock your teeth out."i looked over to the mentor who I have yet to get his name."Were do I sleep?"I aksed now getting madder and louder."Send me the answers threw the door now were is the sleeping spot."I said selfknowingly standing on thomases foot getting harder and harder./size]

Thomas didn't flinch as Ginger's fist came flying at him. He smirked as she stopped her fist just inched from his face. He placed a finger on the side of her wrist and pushed it to the side. He looked down at her foot on his. It hurt a little but he wouldn't let it show. "Hey why not?" Suddenly Thomas grabbed Gingers wrist and pulled her fist to his face. It connected with his nose and blood began to pour from his face. He looked down at Gingers foot on his. Trying not to show any sign of pain as his nose throbbed. "You're stepping on my foot." He leaned close to her. His bloody face just inches from hers. "Get off."

I saw him looked at his foot a smiled.I saw him grab my wrist and stared at him then he slammed my fist against his face.He broke my pinky finger."What the heck was that about."He told me to get off his foot.I Deciced not to I slammed down harder on his foot then took the blood off of his face and wiped it across my face trying to to flich as my pinky finger throbbed.I then stared at him as I licked my finger with the blood on it showing that I was strong I will win to be back in the happier days I thought.
